- Let's go for a first drive in the new McLaren 720S! Taking the Super Series to a new level, the car has 720hp and 770Nm from a 4.0 litre twin twin-scroll turbocharged V8 and so much by way of trick tech that there's a lot to show you.
Let's get started with a very detailed walkaround of the aerodynamics, Monocage II, interior and a number of details that stand out to me. Next up it's time for a drive, to take the car to the roads and see what it's like.
To give a short conclusion, spoiler coming, the 720S is a game changer and by far the best car in its class. The performance is on another level and everything like the steering, suspension set-up and ride quality, gearbox and practicality works seamlessly together. Where it lacks is quite enough drama and excitement, especially when compared to the 675LT from the previous series, even thought it's faster on paper and even more so on the road.

Honestly it is the best first impressions/review of the 720S till now. Shmee explained all the features and also gave a good opinion (keeping in mind of what segment this car is) while others just keep on comparing it with the LT.

Finally! A more detailed look at the car and it's specs. Everyone else just screemed about how fast it was and how it lacked drama because it doesn't have some insane like exhaust. Thank you Shmee for the most comprehensive preview of the 720s so far.
Everyone uploaded a video about the 720S, but I especially waited for Shmee -- because I know that he is the ultimate McLaren maniac ;)

I saw other reviews but Shmee's one is the best. Like professional car review with all details,specs and own opinion while others just driving around with smile and excitement
couldn't agree more on Tim's 720S review vs others. Another think is only Shmee showed us a full exterior out of the tarmac with full explanation etc - rest of guys just jump in and start screaming their excitement like kid who has been given the key to candy store.... They may have a better video quality and sometimes editing (still don't know why Tim won't buy a better cams or a better mic at least..) but overall Shmee has the best content

They made the F1 early 90's... and McLaren was founded in 1963. But the 'current' stand alone company that makes the current cars actually was 'founded' in 2010.

Some people might complain about the spirit of this car, but I think this is another practice in technical mastery by probably one of the youngest supercar companies. Sparing the refined brutality of the LT FOR an LT spec 720s, we'll see yet another step up in this beautiful car that will solidify McLaren YET again as a TOP contender. Just think about all the stuff they've been able to cover in this car alone, yet somehow they've got room to improve. I was honestly expecting them to charge MORE than the $250K USD, and were I able to get one, I'd consider this a TREMENDOUS value for money, on such a well thought out, brutally fast, and functional supercar you can daily effortlessly. A truly beautiful car and it actually appears to be somewhat practical in terms of having some luggage space so that you could use it as a GT car.

jose it's not really comparable both cars are kind of in two different categories. The 720S isn't meant to be a LT replacement rather a new S series replacement. The LT is more raw while this is more a "all round" car. Go and watch Mr JWW's review he's a LT owner and soon to be a 720S owner and did a great job explaining the difference

mugdays wasnt meant to either. this generation of the Ford GT isnt meant to be as much of a Grand Tourer as before. you still can but it's a car for high performance driving. so it's competition is really the 458 Speciale and the 675LT

When you see the others youtubers' review about this car, you hate the car but now that I watched shmee's one, I'm starting to like the 720s a lot. Tim went deeper in the car's configurations and caracteristics.
how can you like and dislike a car because a bunch of rich kids give their diarrhea-thoughts on it ? comments like " with a aftermarket-sports-exhaust it would be cool" etc. and then you see them munching sandwiches and jerking off on carrera GT's ? seriously - none of these guys will be in a serious state of development of a sportscar play a role in this life. the only reason why they get invited to the press-drives is for "advertising" matters and being a niche-channel for marekting in a slight way. getting to see a proper review with a acknowldged unbiased driver that articulates his words and lets the pictures speak while dropping certain infos slightly on the right point is completely different.

jr nascimento Y'know you could watch one of the 720s reviews from proper auto journalists not youtubers. 'Carfection' in particular never disappoints and their 720s was enjoyable and insightful.
@Burns Shmeetheslitherysssssnake did not do a good review. he talks too much. noone needs the specs of the car prayed up and down if they are not buying it. nevertheless he is a marketing-niche for manufacturers and you will most likely not hear him talk negative truth about a car which is something i do not like. he wants to grow his business. anyways.
@trim i share your view on this. youtubers and their "review" are more likely a VLOG (Videlog) but lack in most cases professionalism - starting with editing cuts articulation and then most likely funded knowledge. Because someone had sex with 100 women would not make me buy a book about sex written by that person or trust him knowing women and relationship things well.
This video was very helpful cause other youtubers only told how good it drives. But this video shows what is all about and the features of the 720 S!

Great look at all of the features and small details. In all honesty I would've appreciated some of your thoughts on the car as a whole and a better look at its true performance capabilities as well. I know you are a quite sensible gentlemen, but harder driving might give a better impression of what the car is all about. Maybe I'm overstepping and there are further videos from this day on the way later on? Regardless, I so love everything you do and appreciate your traveling the world for the sake of amazing material! Really did enjoy the car and your video as always.

Didn't I do them in both? Actually only about 35% of my audience comes from mph audiences and 65% from km/h so I try and balance.
Which is fair enough, if that's the case you need to do videos if every other language to balance that out too.

It's not about being lazy, it's just like your favourite program being spoken in a different language and having to Google what there saying.. in the UK we don't use KPH so you can imagine most the the people having to Google which is rather annoying. And yes shmee does try to do both but not all the time he seems to side towards using kilometres.
