It never fails to amaze me how you can utilize every art supply you try to get super fun textures in your art. If I saw these without context I would never have assumed they were made with crayola markers!
I kind of adore how rough/splotchy the marker looks when you fill a large area. Like, it creates a really fun texture that looks super cool for example in the sky of the red one
I’ve heard it’s quite hard to get a consistent blend and that you have to press real hard to get some major pigment. I’m so not sure though because I’ve never actually used them before.
you should check out blackbean cms on youtube, i think he has made a video about it. hes a professional artist and uses crayola oil pastels for most of his pieces i believe, i don't know if he's stopped recently
I love the idea of making a piece that is focused on each color while showcasing all of them! A fun challenge and way to encourage creative use of each! Also so fun to look at all together!
12:00 has to be my favorite drawing! I know it's the experiment piece but it's so colorful and beautiful and vibrant that I just want it on a hoodie! It's so inspiring to my channel seeing great art like this!💘💘💘
The funny thing is you can use the washable markers as 'watercolor like' markers since I've experimented with the Supertips before and found that they can be a fun sub for certain watercolor pallets since when they dry they do not get that overly cloudy/powdery look that really cheap watercolor tablets can get when they dry. At random I did a swatch test with a Supertip vs Sakura Koi vs Artist Loft Watercolor pens and the Crayola I used for the test was almost IDENTICAL to the actual watercolor pen and both had a smoother finish than the Koi which for some reason was picking up clumps even though I had used the same brush and paper for the colors. Oh well, that's what' experimenting is for.
I had these as a small child (10+ years ago maybe) and they were my favorite! I would do a bunch of cursive and “calligraphy” with them. Wish they had more colors though.
crayola had a different version of these when i was younger and they were my favorite thing ever. my grandma bought me new sets regularly because i would use them up so fast. they were so fun to draw with!
Okay, it is now my personal mission in life to find these! Crayola products are totally my guilty pleasure and I've never seen these before. Thank you so much for sharing.
Scribble some on a pallet and add water. So perhaps you get a more watercolor effect. I never use water-soluble of markers like that, right of the marker. I always scribble and use them with water. So they don't eat the paper... lol
When I have to be in the family room at home I take my iPad and my headphones and I binge watch you me and my sissy love you! I been watching you since I was little you actually helped me learn how to draw because I watched you for years and it mean a lot to have a UA-camr from my state!
They call the washable paint pens! Soooo they are for drawing on painted plaster walls and then be washed off! So not made of paint but design to be used in painted walls. ( I haven't read the other comments as if anyone else has realised this?)
I loved this! I used to have these as a kid I think i might even still have them in a pouch somewhere. Watching this made me want to try them out again!
I got some of things to try out a long time ago, played with them briefly, then forgot them... and now I wanna play with them again and dip them in water. Given how rarely I use them, if it kills them, at least they died fighting :D
Thanks Kasey! You just reminded me that I have such “paint brushes” (not sure if same company, since I don’t have a package card anymore) and decided to take them out of my drawer, from a box, out of a plastic bag. Or more like take just the very dirty plastic bag that apparently was still wet after 4 years. Now I remember how frustrating it was to use them, because they were leaking a loooot. And now I have my hands scratched, because I tried to wash it all off xD
I messed with these when i was younger, i rubbed the markers onto plastic mixed water and white paint with them and i was abke to use them like water colors. At that time i would do something similar with sharpies and alcohol (rubbing or purfumes my family didnt like lol)
wonder what would have happened if you had laid down a layer of water first and then coloured the bg in with the marker. might have helped with the splotchiness of blue maybe? i really lie the red and yellow. purple and blue were good concepts but i think more experience with layering and planning of how to execute the idea was needed, but i really like watching Kasey create simple yet fun and interesting art with kids or odd art suppies
Names - Red. "Introverted Cat" Yellow. "Cat Fading Out Of Reality" Green. "Cat Discovering Other Introverts (Cats)" Blue. "Cat Running From Difficult Situations" Purple. "Cat Gets Help" hope you like the names!
When I was a kid I had a whole set of the crayola paint brush pens I think there was at least 12-24 colors but back then it actually was like crayola finger paints inside of a waterbrush type pen with actual paint brush bristles, so I was pretty disappointed when the ones you opened looked more like a brush tip marker
It would've been funny of the cat was just a tourist in all the illustrations and instead of being scared or running away he would just be posing for a picture with a smile, wearing sunglasses and doing the peace sign.
I kind of want to unironically get some of these. It seems like you can definitely do a lot of stuff with them, so yeah. Also, great video, as always :)
Absolutely vibing with the first 2 pieces of "cat hiding from social interaction" and "cat accepting he's fallen in a super nova"
Oh my God… 😂
I got these for my nephew and he loves them. The only downsides are there’s no orange and they can be a little messy
It is odd orange always gets left out. :(
It never fails to amaze me how you can utilize every art supply you try to get super fun textures in your art. If I saw these without context I would never have assumed they were made with crayola markers!
Yellow illustration : the pure embodiment of "This is fine"
I kind of adore how rough/splotchy the marker looks when you fill a large area. Like, it creates a really fun texture that looks super cool for example in the sky of the red one
i know this is off topic but your icon is gorgeous :>
@@trevor7520 thanks man!!
You have captured the essence of introversion in the first four pieces, and as for the last represents the cat going on a blind date
You can actually scribble the markers in a plastic surface, and activate it with water to create new colors and it is waaayy more flexible that way
I just figured out that Crayola sells oil pastels, I’m curious how well they’d do against like a fancy brand
I’ve heard it’s quite hard to get a consistent blend and that you have to press real hard to get some major pigment. I’m so not sure though because I’ve never actually used them before.

im late, but theyre alright. used them a lot when i was younger
I LOVE how you created this awesome horror illustration in the first one and was like “oh he’s peeping around the corner, how cute”
I love the idea of making a piece that is focused on each color while showcasing all of them! A fun challenge and way to encourage creative use of each! Also so fun to look at all together!

The space cat one is definitely my fave, I love the gradient around it
These all came out so cool! I love the variety of the compositions, they look straight out of a children's book :D
Crayola needs to sponsor you already!!

Yellow: finally, a drawing centered around me!
Red and purple: *:)*
I love the grass one! It looks like the car hiding was going to pounce on the other cat! Plus the °_° face was so cute!
@kasey did you know you can wear Crayola now ? Vans just released a collection in collab with crayola ;)
Oh my GOD… the ones with the little pencil flaps… I’m dead. 😂
Haha I thought they were all going to turn into cat in peril, but I really like the first one! Really intense story going on there!
I actually adore the green one. The cat has met a shy little friend!
I had these as a small child (10+ years ago maybe) and they were my favorite! I would do a bunch of cursive and “calligraphy” with them. Wish they had more colors though.
The monster in the blue one reminded me of the Alaskan bull worm. I hear they're hungry. 😄
The blue cat pose are so amazing I think🐱
crayola had a different version of these when i was younger and they were my favorite thing ever. my grandma bought me new sets regularly because i would use them up so fast. they were so fun to draw with!
Love that the cat in space looks like he’s accidentally merging between at least two different dimensions lol
Okay, it is now my personal mission in life to find these! Crayola products are totally my guilty pleasure and I've never seen these before. Thank you so much for sharing.
Omg I just remembered you just got back to water color and you were the first artist that came to my head🙃
You just unlocked some childhood memories holy hell. I had these and i used them with my cousins,i remmeber LOVING them!
Whenever life gets rough I watch your videos and always feel better. Ty Kasey!!!
oh my goodness I used these in middle school (10+ years ago) and adored the brush tip. Its wild they're still around.
I loved how the cat looked like a meteorite zooming past Saturn on the yellow image 💛💛

Grandma: I love your art :)
🥺
I HAD THESE AS A KID AND NOW IM ADDICTED TO WATER COLOR AND BRUSH PENS
I have these Crayola brush markers! They leak…a lot….
Too vivid colors, but not bad. Bold lines. Brushes aren’t bad. Not great but not bad.
I used to have these when I was a kid! They were my favorites!!
Just a series about a white cat having a really, really weird day
They call the washable paint pens! Soooo they are for drawing on painted plaster walls and then be washed off! So not made of paint but design to be used in painted walls. ( I haven't read the other comments as if anyone else has realised this?)
The purple one's my favorite, and ot just because that's one of my favorite colours
2:26 why does this joke gets me *EVERY SINGLE TIME*
Your cat illustrations are my favorite!
I'd love to see a cartoon of this cat"s adventures and these drawings would be part of the intro sequence
Looks like markers with a felt brush tip.
Btw "Purple Rain" by Prince came to my mind
I had those for years and loved them as a child (I even had the special crayola paint pen notebook)
The purple one is definitely my favorite
My favorite is the purple one! Excellent job on all of them though!
Have you ever tried the crayola signature products? Its kind of their take on more professional supplies as one set is called blending markers.
I love the grass one tbh!! Super subtle and cute :’)
I have these in an off brand. I haven't tried them yet. Good to know i may get the same results.
i absolutely need these as posters
Purple rain!
I loved this! I used to have these as a kid I think i might even still have them in a pouch somewhere. Watching this made me want to try them out again!
i *WILL* steal that little cutie patootie cat OC, HE'S JUST TOO CUTE
You literally drew purple rain during the swatching!!!!
She knows lol
I had a pack of those when I was a kid. I wrecked them so fast, I did not understand what a felt tip brush was ..
Why do I get the feeling there will be a new warning label added to the packaging that the Paint Brushes should never be dipped in water?😂
These pens look so juicy, and also great to do lettering.
11:29 i believe those are technically called striations! i may be wrong tho, and planet stripes are a good name too lol
I got some of things to try out a long time ago, played with them briefly, then forgot them... and now I wanna play with them again and dip them in water. Given how rarely I use them, if it kills them, at least they died fighting :D
I remember having these when i was around 6 or 7.... about 16 years since then
You should've left the eyes on the whale thingy because the finished part looks really weird. Like, a misshaped claw or something.
Thanks Kasey! You just reminded me that I have such “paint brushes” (not sure if same company, since I don’t have a package card anymore) and decided to take them out of my drawer, from a box, out of a plastic bag. Amazing video like always love youre content and i hate how underatted you are
To make a children’s book you have to use children’s art supplies.
I need them…
More colors…
This isn’t for kasey…
This is for crayola…
They have a set of 40. But they aren't cheap.
@@SorrensSorrow oooh I might have to save up for that
With the lack of the color pallete this still looks amazing
The green is my fave
I messed with these when i was younger, i rubbed the markers onto plastic mixed water and white paint with them and i was abke to use them like water colors. At that time i would do something similar with sharpies and alcohol (rubbing or purfumes my family didnt like lol)
I had them when I was younger. They dry out really fast
your illustration are always so cool! thanks for sharing your experience with those paint (lol kind of!) pens :D

They're so pretty!!!
Your videos always make my day better when I’m feeling down. ♥️
I love the look of these pens! Great artwork as always
I like your drawings kasey golden which is the favorite fruit
Love them all. =)
I had a set of those “Markers”… but they ran out fast.
Hi Kasey!! I was wanting to get into watercolor and would like to know what you use for an average piece! (if thats not a problem)

Hey future me: was it amazing as always?
Edit from the future: YES YES YES! AMAZING
7:45 in my head the demon was peaking around the mountain to ask the cat how to get to Bells Canyon.
I'm very late to this conversation but I would have tried to thin them out with rubbing alcohol, since these seem to be ink pens :)
Amazing art as usual
Test out Royal Langnickel Essentials brand of on the go Watercolors sheets
I feel like being a product designer for Crayola would be an awesome job.
It would've been funny of the cat was just a tourist in all the illustrations and instead of being scared or running away he would just be posing for a picture with a smile, wearing sunglasses and doing the peace sign.
Poor kitty, burning up upon re-entering the atmosphere of that planet…
I remember when you used in love whit a ghost music,,, golden times
i could see some kid really enjoying drawing on a wall with these lol
I love sakura koi pens .
They’re a bit like felt tips? But they’re pretty cool :) I also wish I had Kasey’s art style 🥹🥹
I kind of want to unironically get some of these. It seems like you can definitely do a lot of stuff with them, so yeah.
Also, great video, as always :)
How do you come up with the poses cuz i have broblems making interesting poses
I'm not rly an artist but you can look up character poses on google or Pinterest

Have you checked out line-of-action yet? It's a website where they offer tons of good-quality references.
Why does orange always get left out :,)
The last one is as if they are on a spooky little date
I have an art challenge for you Kasey. Try making blue artworks not themed on the sky or ocean. I think you would come up with some creative things 😁
What kind of one is that you’re using for the sketches 👀
Hey... Those are the colors of each of the playable characters in Donkey Kong 64!!
We got Diddy, DK, Chunky, Lanky, and Tiny!
