These Koh-i-noor Magic pencils are originaly designed in my country, Czechia, in city České Budějovice since 2000. As a child i found it stressfull, how the colors are changing when you draw and didnt know, how to use them. Your style of using them seems so much fun. I love this inspiration.
i have these exact pencils that i use all the time for sketching! theyre chunky which keeps me from getting too detailed and they look a lot more interesting on the page than just plain pencil
Oh, I have a set of these! I love using them for doodles and sketches, they help me relax and just have fun with the process of making art. My favorite is the tropical one (yellow, blue, pink/purple), but I also really like the classic one and I'm not a fan of the neon pencil, it gets muddy if you draw a lot in one place.
I actually love these pencils. There's a steep learning curve, though. I think they're easiest to use if you're already experienced with colored pencil.
Kasey! In order to blend color pencils you are supposed to color super lightly and add more and more pigment as you go along. That is, according to Renae from the channel Sarah Renae Clark :)
I also watch other channels and a couple people start light and layer one pigment, than the other, repeat the proccess with increasing pressure and this works too! I guess it's about how you colour.
Oh these are so fun! One thing I learned that changed my life with prismacolors: if you don’t want them to break as much, sharpen them at an angle in the sharpener rather than straight on!
Funny how UA-cam showed me this JUST as I grabbed my own koh-i-noors for some relaxed sketching. I love those, but they can get super muddy if you go back over an area. They actually make sets of single tones one (like several greens in one pencil...), it gives beautiful vibrant shades.
There is a large pack (12?) of these pencils which has a load of different colours. And they generally stick to similar colours in each pencil making them a lot more interesting/practical to use. Like there is a multi tone green that’s perfect for grass. A red/orange/yellow for fire etc I would love to see you revisit this using them. I found they are most fun to use as sketching/line art and just going with the flows to see what happens.
Oh those sound perfect actually. I was just thinking they really shouldn't mix complementary colours. What brand are the ones you mention? If they're not too expensive I might put them on the holidays wishlist.
I saw a photo of these pencils and it showed that the neon one looks cool under uv light/black light! not sure if it's true but it'd be interesting to try out
Thank you, SquareSpace. I've had 3 out of 4 of these pencils for years, but never messed with them. Thanks for giving me an idea of the dos and donts and what they look like. Blessed be.
I remember these from back in the dark ages when I was a tike! I love Koh-I-Noor (yes you said it just fine) I have used their watercolor pencils ever since I was 9 or 10 years old! I actually thought they were the only company that made watercolor pencils! I think you might enjoy the Tri-Color pencils as they are a bit more themed and allow you to sketch without carrying a complete set of pencils around with you everywhere you want to go to sketch! I had never seen Faber Castell pencils, as out local art store did not carry them! YEAH way before the internet and I had never been to a city art store! I still want to see some ANY Videos! I did see you made some on Twitch but I can never seem to catch any live streams over there! SO why not bring them back eh KASEY!?
i love your art! i love using coloured pencils and i hate that waxxy smudge look overtop line art. best tip i have is to do your sketch, colour, then do your line art overtop everything it looks a lot cleaner and there’s no smudging!
Loved the designs!! Try to use the pencils lightly at first and build it up to mix. Also for the mixed pencil I order if doing a specific angle line and never going back over said like(like cross hatching?) would have a different effect? I similar ones so I might try this too!! 😂
So cool to be this early. I love your videos. Please keep them family friendly because sometimes there are younger people around when I watch and they like your art and your videos. I love you, your channel, and your art. You inspire me to make mistakes and be a little more adventurous with my art. Thank you.
@@SorrensSorrow thank you I know. Hence the comment. Here content is great for little ones to aspire to, but I never know what to expect. Most times I watch them first or alone, but sometimes little feet are around. It would help at least if there was a warning because most of Kasey's videos are family friendly and she has such great videos for them to relate to. I love her content. I was early, so I thought that I would ask. She might appreciate that she is inspiring young artists too.
@@gilashroot8697 see here's the problem. I understand how you feel but this is adult UA-cam or at least 13+. So it is the parents responsibility to police what their children watch and are exposed to. There is kids version of UA-cam.
I have these pencils and I LOVE them! For me, I found that they work best for hatching. You don't get such a horrid mess of colours that way - it actually looks amazing when used for hatching or anything where you draw rhythmic lines for texture - cross hatching, herringbone, stippling, zigzags, scribbling, etc.... 🪄✏
I may be weird but I hate these pencils. They bug my ocd to highest degree. But I love watching your videos so much because I love you so I watch the videos anyway and end up loving it. So a message to say that I love you (been a fan for years) and somehow you get me to enjoy things I usually hate. ❤❤❤ ok have a great day!
3 Color pencils are more a gimmic than a usefull tool. But Koh-I-Nor pencils are just fine. I still have some from the 80's when I was a kid. Making a Coloring Book with all your Doodles would be a great Idea. You have an unique style and a clear linework which is an ideal prerequisite for such a Book.
I hate those pencils and I give them to kids around me if I get them in a subscription box 😁. All the more credit to you for managing to incorporate that disaster of an art supply in a few fun illustrations 😁👍
I used to love pencils like this when I was a kid but they drive me nuts as an adult lol
I'm the opposite - never understood them as a kid and love them now for some quick visual interest

hey i visited that city this year !! it doesnt really matter i just thought it was a fun coincidence lol
Bro your still a child!
That's so cool, thanks for sharing. ^^
Surely the black holes over the worms are called.. wormholes… :P
That's so good XD

Yeah she should look at Sarah's work because those pencils are painfully dull XD
Could you give me the name of the video please ? It’s interesting and I didn’t find the video 😭🙏🙏
You should totally make your own coloring book!! that would be so much fun!

I always love sketching with these and doodling. I have a 7 color rainbow pencil that's a normal size and really really fun

@@RadishTheFool The same brand, Koh-i-Nor I'm pretty sure. I brought them from Amazon.
@@CuriousCabinet Great, I found them. They're not cheap, but not too bad for a holiday gift. Thank you for the help!
@@RadishTheFool 😁 Crossing my fingers you get them!
i like using those kind of pencils for sketching, so when they overlap i can see the diffrence between layers
Gooey colours and strange creatures... LOVE IT!

Ohh I'd love to see that too!
Tus dibujos me inspiran mucho a divertirme más al dibujar en serio

Woahhh. I remember having crayons/colored pencils similar to these. They were a lot of fun!

Everytime you called it "interdimentional holes" instead of worm holes I was like "noooooo" haha
I love these weird art supply videos!!
Omg I almost just blew onto my screen by seeing the pencil dust xD. It's just such a reflex to blow away the excess shavings haha
The fact that she didn’t call the dimensions in the second drawing worm holes is low key a hate crime
yay! we sell these at the museum i work at! thank you for testing/drawing with them!!
I like the idea of mimicking the idea of the 3 color pencil, only using one color pencils.
They are fun, especially on black paper
0:56 - 3:35 = Montage of kasey stuggling with colored pencils
They do a fantastic job on flagstone and brick.
I recently discovered these pencils in my adulthood and love them
Shine a blacklight on the black sparkle barreled pencil! 😁
I like that the shark’s water bubbles aren’t around the gills jaja
Should've made the stars on the frog's hat that rainbow. Idk, these all came out heccin cute.
i love the drawings so much but i cant help thinking the mummy shark on fire was giving off major mr bump vibes at first (around here: 21:18)
The second colour block in the testing kind of looks like the flag of Germany. :D
little disappointed that you missed the opportunity to call the interdimensional holes "wormholes" lol
WONDERFUL video, as always though!

On the worm with the portals behind the witch hat isn’t shaded and it’s freaking me out
The brand name sounds like the Magic Treehouse saga with Ted, Kate, and the four things you need to bring you home.

I only get those pencils, just to stare at and never use XD
I’ve never known what to do with those multicolored pencils or how to even use them.
i use them all the time for loose sketches and they're super fun for that! i dont like using them to colour with though
These pencils almost kicked your ass!!!! I think you found a Nemesis!
I thought it looked more like the sharks brains were floating away from the worm burrowing into its eyes but cute lol

I LOVE YOUR ART 💖💖💖
What's the multicolor pencils that turn into dooky GREEN??! 😫 She needs them!
The shark looks like its head is burning revealing its skull
YES I MISSED THE WORMS
Yay! I get to tuck up in bed and watch a kasey vid! Whoop! Xxxx
What is this awesome bold black pen you used to linework? S LOOVE UR VIDEOS KASEYY 🤩
