All of this is so aesthetic, the little fonts of the little title cards, the bg, the Lay-out of the pens, I love it so much and the effort out in to the videos is so amazing!
I really like your spread! It inspired me to experiment more in my sketchbook as well, but I also had a thought on color used on the daisy that is on brown paper. I remember reading in a book that some artist will lay down an opposite color as a base color before putting down their maim colors (or the colors that will be more visible once the art is done). Baiscly, green below something that will be within the red spectrum, blue under orange, and so on. I've never gotten it to work for myself, and it really can only be used with a transparent medium (transparent acrylic, color pencil, watered down guache, and watercolor). Really I was just excited that it looked like the theory panned out on the daisy since there was a pink layer under the blue-- OR it was just good color choice. Still, inspiring me to try that method again. Although I swear everything I made when I did that turn out so incredibly muddy. Still, try and try again, right? Thank you for all your hard work and playing around! Can't wait to see more!
I use a neutral or complimentary color stain under my paintings with oil, and the effect does tone down the intensity of the actual painting a small amount. It works better if you use trace amounts of complimentary colors to mix shades, though. Of course that's assuming you use stains, glazes, or thin dry brushing like I do. I don't really know how to make the technique work with thicker layers or working impasto.
Are you sure that the first layer you put down was absolutely bone dry before applying the next? I can imagine that if the first one is not 100% dry, it could be reactivated by the second layer and everything becomes a muddy mess.
@@nathaliedrinkstea I have absolutely no idea because it's been so long, but im totally taking notes and am going to try this again. I'll look out for my layers not drying. I am impatient, so that could have happened. I'm so excited to try this again! Thank you for your help!
I just have been waiting for a book so I can gift it to my children (if it's not a blood everywhere kinda book, but maybe even then) in some years now 😅 Maybe I will watch together instead. Kids are kinda morbid anyhow 😁
Did you know that you can design your own board game? You can get boards and spinners and dice and pieces to move and cards to decorate, like lose a turn, rake an extra turn, win money, etc? Over at Bare Books. I'll try to find a link... I have an idea based on a trip I went. I have lots of photos and notes
My daughter is five and she loves your videos. We are both grateful for your funny characters and beautiful creations that inspire us to make our own art.
Thank you so much for putting the Crybaby design on your RedBubble for me, Kasey! I’m totally gonna buy a few things with that cute little cloud guy on it! 🤍
This spread looks great! I'm ALMOST finished with a sketchbook now, and I honestly might do something like this on the final spread. It just seems so fun to try out!
Hullo Kasey, I really believe you might be onto something with going multi media! I thought you might “sketch” from your Prompt series and then transfer the initial ideas to one of the Baylee Jae books for a more finished artwork! I have the idea that many people miss the prompts drawing/paintings videos, they simply are not going to pressure you when you are struggling, this is NOT my intent either! I simply miss the creative spark you generate from the prompt book! You just keep creating and doing what you do! See ya next video!
Loved this spread! Your recent videos really made me love your channel again. I kinda zoned out with the year of the crayon, but I absolutely love this! Also, yayyyy for more mixed media pieces! 😃❤️
I'm currently in bed after a small surgery and this is making me so happy! I love your videos the most where you just go overboard with your creativity and have fun fun fun. Makes me want to grab my sketchbook as well.
Kasey! I hope you see this comment because it’d be so awesome if you made this a series. It was such a fun multimedia sketchbook spread and I’d tune in to watch you do more.
This was so fun to watch!! I hope you do it again some time, no planing just... ✨art✨ I use to do it when I'm stressed just to unwind, or if I'm really art blocked.
Yes this was a awesome spread and I really liked every different mixed media you put in your sketchbook. Your ideas and style of drawing is so different that's what makes it so interesting to watch what u come up with and what a brilliant imagination u have Mrs. Golden yes I would have to say u are definitely supposed to be an artist. Your art is so cute it makes me happy . Thank u for sharing your wonderful world with us. It definitely makes it a better place for me. 👍🔥🌞❤️🎨
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the fact that Kasey and her video's are so inspiring just so cool! Keep up the great art and creativity ✏❤🎨💜🖌📒🙌
you were my favorite youtuber when I was younger- when I first started out drawing I tried to copy your style be as good as you. it's really nice coming back and finding out your childhood youtuber is still active :)
I love the goofiness of your personality in this video. It felt like you, just a little more. Like the freedom of the sketchbook rubbed off. Very refreshing and fun! Loved the sketches, loved you, wonderful video!
I really hope to see that sketchbook finish or at least see more of it in future videos! I know, I know, you're probably super busy, but one can wish, right!?

L♡ve the scrapbook sketchbook looks awesome especially loving the bee with that blue. Made me smile I appreciate that.
Its a real shame she doesnt do art anymore, =( She was so awesome and I loved her style! Glad to see you still doing your art. Cant wait for your Adult Coloring book to come out ^.~ Along with crayons lmao. I bought all the sets you were using that came out of Crayola. They are so fun! So thanks Kasey for keeping the art coming
I love it! The first sketchbook spread inspired me to make my own book journal for 2022 because I still haven't found a ready made one that I like. Thank you.

As an amateur bug enthusiast I feel the need to tell y’all that if a bee is out of the hive it’s almost always female, the male drones stay inside to reproduce once and then die
and don’t get me started on how bees reproduce, it’s so weird and cool. The females are diploids like us; they have dna from both their parents, but the males are haploids- they only have the queen’s dna. If an egg laid by a queen bee hasn’t been fertilized, it will hatch as a drone! It’s the same for ants as well, pretty much any hive/colony insect
You never get too old in art, I am five years older than you and still too messy and still trying to find my way. I have been going far since 23, so just enjoy yourself 😊
So cool! We need more mixed media sketchbooking lol
I think there is plenty to come…!
