TIP: Once the layers are dry, use a microfibre cloth wrapped around something with a hard edge (eg store card etc)and you should be able to release the pilling easily before you go in with fine liners.
the pilled paper actually adds quite a nice texture, kind of reminds me of paintings created with palette knives that have those slight uneven swatches.
This is amazing!!!! Your OC is so gorgeous + her design is amazing!!!!! the piling did seem to scare me me a bit, but seeing the colors + the advice in the comments about how to possibly prevent it as much, i would totally love to check these out!!! I'm gonna binge your other videos now lol
Everytime you use alcoholic and acrylic markers it always looks SO good and makes me wanna try the same materials (one day...when I've saved up haha). Your ocs are always so gorgeous looking too!
your designs for monstrous kara are so neat!! i've been drawing a character with extra eyes lately too so it was fun to see how you handled that :-) and the colors on the goldfish look splendid!
How would you compare these to the Arrtx ones? I've been wanting Arrtx ones for a while but they are more expensive, the Grabie ones looks pretty similar in quality on video and is cheaper (could have something to do with there being less paint since they are dual like you said), but I'd love to hear your opinion on the comparison!
I'm surprised by how well the quality holds up, I think they would be a good substitute for Arrtx but yeah the amount of paint might make a big difference 👌
Ahhh the little goldfish is so cute, and the way you used all the different colours together is something that I would love to learn. Although I have a question, would you do a pencil case tour, even if it was just on Instagram, just showcasing what supplies you would take with you to draw outside or anywhere else outside of your room with all the regular artsupplies?
Thank you so much! And that sounds like a really cute idea except I generally don't draw outside of my desk setup. I don't like drawing in public and never really get moments of inspiration anyway while I'm out and about.
Ahhh this was so much fun to watch! I love Kara! Every time you draw her, i want to make fanart. She's so fun! 😊 Those pens look lovely to draw even though they make the paper peel a bit but it's quite hard to find them here in Europe, isn't it? I can only find a version and it's expensive 😮
Thank you so much! She's so fun to draw, I'm really glad you like her too!! ❤❤ It does look a little pricier to get it sent to europe, from their site it looks like roughly an extra 12€ (including shipping) but they also gave me a discount code for everyone to get 15% off which might help a bit 😁 ( Static15 )
Maybe try them on acrylic paper. It's thicker paper and designed for wet media. That paper pilling would drive me insane. I spend a lot on great watercolor paper to prevent that very issue. I would be interested in seeing how they work on watercolor or the acrylic papers.
WAKE UP, STATIC POSTED!!!🦆 literally one of THE BEST videos i watched recently, thank you so so much for your content, i enjoy watching your videos, it gives me LOTS of inspiration and motivation, especially for mastering my artstyle!! thanks🤠 and kara slays as always💅
Whoa nice! The paintings all came out so good! I always love the color combos you choose to go with in your art, it's fantastic! The goldfish also came out really cool on that dark paper, it would make for a really cute sticker if you wanted to make it one. It's funny, I've been looking for some acrylic fineliners because I have some chunky poscas that I like to use but I've been wanting some finer markers for accents and such; I think I'm gonna give these ones a shot, the price is quite nice for the amount of markers you get too, which is nice, especially compared to posca pens.
Are these even available for sale in the UK? I don’t understand why companies send things to non-US UA-camrs to review when the products are only sold in the US 🤨 (yeah I could order them and get the shipped across, but VAT+customs doesn’t really make it worth it)
Quick question; would you recommend these or the Arrtx markers? Like which one is better in your opinion, or are they about the same?? I really really want to get my first set of acrylic markers but I haven't decided which brand to try yet and would love your input
These hold up really well compared to Arrtx, as I mentioned in the video tho I think the amount of paint is one of the bigger differences as these pens hold two colours in one so they likely don't have as much paint. There's then also the range of colours. This set has a lot of colours but less than Arrtx (though Arrtx's colours are spread over several sets so you'd have to buy more to get more so 🤗)
@staticwool ok thank you so much! ❤️ I'm probably going to go with the Grabie markers then since they're a bit cheaper and should be fine to start with, and then if I really like them I can always buy some Arrtx ones to get more colors 😊
I would but the problem is that I make it up as I go so I don't really have any guidelines that I follow. I just try to pick colours that look good together I guess 😅 not very helpful I know 😞
@staticwool I figured that would be the case lol, it's what I do too. It would save a bit of stress to figure out a system tho. I shall find one some day 😔
Ive never seen paper pill like that!! I use acrylic pens all the time and never had paper pill at all, thats quite bizarre!!! I use cheap and expensive watercolour paper cold and hot press but thats never happened
about the paper peeling a bit when you went over with the brush markers, when it dries is it possible to use a dry paint brush to get them off or are they stuck?
Personally I think they both feel the same, Grabie seems to match Arrtx, the only thing with these pens in the video would be the amount of paint they hold. I can't imagine the brush pens hold a huge amount as they are double ended so have to be holding 2 different colours.
@@mizzdiiva92 Okay, they've just told me that the discount is for the Extra fine tip only (so I've added that to the description) and they also said if 20STATIC doesn't work then try 20static. I hope this works, please let me know if it doesn't

Thank you that's incredibly helpful! I hate how it feels picking it with my nails 🤢 so I'll be trying this out next time 😁👌
The way you play around with colors all the time just fascinates me. Color theory is so confusing but you make it seem so easy😭😭
Right😭 i struggle with specific characters and colors
You did the beast form of Kara awesomely!!!! 😮😃
Ah, my daily motivation 😌
Mine too ❤

I am thank you, I hope you are too!! 😘
I always love when you use paint pens. The art is so vibrant and pretty! 🤩🤩
I'm glad! I've got a few more vids with paint pens lined up 😁❤

I love the way you use colours that makes your art style so cool❤

Ah Thank You! I'm so grateful to all of them and that they want to support me outside of UA-cam and Instagram 😭❤
Have you tried Yupo? That would definitely solve the paper fibres issue!
I'm always amazed at your use of colour ❤❤❤❤. And I love your design iterations for the doppelgänger Cara 😊. (Kara? Chara?)
Thank you 😁 (Kara 😘)

Do you have any tips for picking colors? Would love a video about coloring from you if you haven't made one already :P

Oh you can absolutely remove them, they just might be a little hassle. I've pinned a comment giving some good advice to scrape them off 😁👍
Which are your favourite the arrtx or the grabie would love to know your absolute favourites out of all the sets you’ve tried 🥰🥰🥰
Personally I think they both feel the same, Grabie seems to match Arrtx, the only thing with these pens in the video would be the amount of paint they hold. I can't imagine the brush pens hold a huge amount as they are double ended so have to be holding 2 different colours.
What type of sketchbook would you recommend so the markers don’t break too much through the paper?
The only sketchbook I've tried these in is the Ohuhu marker pad and they seem to hold up super well 👍
@@staticwool Thank you so much! 😊
They look pastel on black paper.
I tried to use your discount code on amazon to purchase the markers an it didn't work? Not sure why??
Oh I'm sorry! I'll contact them and find out why. Was this US Amazon?
