    Big thank you for this video, I was struggling to even find the battery! Will be fitting a new one this week, hope the car starts as normal then! Cheers from Leeds. Martyn. X

      Thanks for your kind message Martin and glad the video helped. I would suggest paying up for a battery direct from Toyota main dealer. I think at the moment they cost around £149 from Toyota. All the best.👍

    Nice vid! But yikes, a '64 plate car, with all that tech, would it kill them to put electric windows in the back!😁

    Thanks for this video! We just bought a Yaris 1.5 hybrid and was wondering where the 12V battery was! Am I correct in assuming this toyota is just as their other hybrid vehicles with discharging the 12V when you are on a long (4 to 8 weeks) holiday? Do you know of an easier way to prevent it other than disconnecting the 12V battery? I am not in favor leaving my ctek charger on unattended. I noticed under the hood there is a red connection point where you can connect an auxiliary battery, maybe it is possible to disconnect the 12V battery at that point somehow?

      @@Peter-Alexander yes they do discharge quite quickly Vs old school ice set up. that connection under the bonnet is to enable you to jump start it. I personally wouldn't (as you say) leave it on a treacle charger unattended for that length of time. If I know it'll be left for long time then I personally would just disconnect the negative terminal or when you come back just jump start it...albeit these smaller capacity batteries..once they drain it is really difficult to get them to recharge and operate optimally like before

      @@sutsi Thanks for your reply! I agree with you. Maybe it is a thought to create a switch (e.g. behind the backseat in the trunk) where you can easily switch it off. With a cable of sufficient diameter that is not so difficult I think. As you said, it is better to prevent a complete discharge.

    Is there a hose that releases the hydrogen gas to under the car?
    Did you remove the left plug and insert one on the right side of the battery?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  7 місяців тому

      No the vent plug is on the same side it depends which way you're looking at the battery.

    Can you share the battery buy link ..from ebay so that I can put the right battery to my hybrid car

      I would recommend buying directly from your local Toyota main dealer. It's about £149 at the moment in the UK for a brand new one. Gives peace of mind and 3yr guarantee.

      I wouldn't risk buying a used one.

    Does the battery need programming?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  5 місяців тому

      I didn't need to on this one. Just simply replaced the battery and it worked perfectly. Although if you do have the correct diagnostic machine it is always good practice to go into the car's onboard computer and let it know you've changed it.

      I rang toyota and apparently if the battery isn't instantly replaced (left out for a few days) the new battery will need to be programmed.

    How can I contact you to send you a video? I have a 2011 Mitsubishi outlander. It's making a strange noise. It gets louder the faster I go. These mechanics don't know anything and I'm tired of spending money because they think it's the issue even in reality reality, it's not.
    I want to send you a video of the noise. I can't explain it because i know nothing about vehicles

    Leaving a 12v battery on the ground is the perfect way to discharge it and end up installing a dead battery
