That oil filter cap wrench is made for Toyota built engines with a cartridge style oil filter instead of the spin-on canister. The newly redesigned Motivx MX2320 will likely work on both but it's not cheap. I wouldn't fill it anymore than you did. When the engine is at operating temperature it will probably read full.

My mechanic just fits it dry
On the oilfilter itself is a picture that you should fil in oil. Also i saw another yt Video where a guy filled oil in, before assembling
