Isn’t It Time and this one only made it to #13. Both should have been in the top 10. Head First is so underrated, yet another very good song. Back On My Feet Again and Turn And Walk Away very good as well. Thanks for the ROCK boys!
Oh my God!! My grown son bought me tickets to see Styx and Foreigner this weekend in Dallas. I just discovered John Waite is going to be there too! I am so excited.
Wasn't the music so heartfelt back in the 70's?! I though I would die when my first love dumped me. Now, 67 years later I feel so grateful I was able to witness the golden age of real music! We don't live on the earth, we are passing through it. ~Rumi ♥️
such a great tune..! takes me back to when music was real. in 1978 I was travelling with a R&B show group, I don't know how we missed covering this song....I want to go back just to do this song !
I was introduced to The Babys in 1988 when I was a freshman in high school and I've loved them ever since. Real songs and musicians. Most stuff since the early 90s is overproduced autotuned garbage.
I'm with you on that one Hun was introduced to The Babys around 1991 John Waite just blew me away but my love for John started a few years earlier 7 years before my dear friend Missing You in 1984 changed my life forever as a little girl whose life was going from bad to worse when I found out not only my parents just got divorced but my Dad was going to jail for GTA (grand theft auto) I cried 😭 playing Missing You and Everytime I Think of You by the Babys along with Isn't it Time was just perfect thank you John you rock dude 😎🎇🙏
Well written song and David and company did a great job on it. 50 years later it still sounds great. I just wish he could have been happy before he past.
One of the underrated bands of the late 70’s and 80’s. I grew up listening to them as well as ELO, Boston, Kansas, REO Speedwagon. Listened to stuff from the 50’s, the 60’s. Then came Punk, New Wave, Electronica. Then Nirvana and a host of bands with a different sound. Hey, I even like swing from the 50’s and classical. Crank Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overature, or chill to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The best moment was 2017, New York State Fair and Kansas. My first concert in 1977, my son and me watching them together 40 years later, his first concert, deja vu.
I’m just in a awesome place back then……. It’s in a safe era great song love our cool outfit sWhere’s the sincerity now 😊it’s October 2024 elections war’s …. Enjoying listen to the song 🥤🍕🍦
That’s absolutely true; I remember it because right while Jonathan was still with the band he began composing a beautiful love song that eventually evolved into “Open Arms” 💗 💕 ❤️ Originally composed in A Major, he played the tune once for singer John Waite only to receive a negative response from him because Mr. Waite thought it was “Sentimental Rubbish”; thankfully Journey’s frontman Steve Perry LOVED the melody & the 2 started writing what would be praised as one of the best Power Ballads in Rock music history 🎵 🎼 🎶 ☝️ ✍️ 😅 💭 👎 👨🎤
Stevie Vann esta hermosa y canta muy bien , no sabia que le hacia coros a John Waite, siempre admire su voz y belleza, ya después en el grupo Night donde cantaba, HERMOSA!!
I can still see the girl i was in love with in my mind when i was 17 ,when i hear this song. I am 62 now but can still remember her first kiss....
Good for you John. Did you see the UA-cam video this weekend? John Waite in downtown Vegas. He’s still sings great.
@@texadonkey34 did not see the video but will look it up thanks kat!!
My ex wife has got 5 kids and None of Them are Mine. She was a Ninfomaniac😮

I was just about married (1976) with our first child. It started out beautiful but ended so sad 😢
Wow, I was 19 when this was played a lot on the radio back that year. Cool song.

Well, how was the concert ?? 🤗
Wow, that's quite a lineup! No doubt you will have a fantastic time.
@@bellalegosi7850it was great. I saw them in Nashville a few weeks ago ago. John Waite still can sing.
You are a great mom. That boy got raised completely correctly

John Waite + Stevie Vann = GREAT 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The Baby's had so many excellent songs and I related to all of them. ❤
Born in 1962, and remember this great song along with the many many other great songs of the 70s. What a great time to be a teen!!!
What a great voice John waite has. Love this song
Just one of those songs that hit everything perfectly. A true hit and classic

We don't live on the earth, we are passing through it. ~Rumi ♥️
One of the most underrated songs of the 70s.
But maybe I was wrong
Not knowing how our love should go!
And singers too!
It’s like he was 20 years ahead of his time. These songs would be hits in any generation.
Fantastic never gets old
Hear this to enternity.
2020..and it's still a great tune!
Maria
2022...and it's still a great tune! An all-time classic...

There is even a better version of this classic with 2 back up singers, awesome vocals they had on this epic song. John Waite
The TopPop archive is a real treasury.
This song is like a time travel machine a masterpiece

First concert I ever saw- Journey in 1979 as -14yr old- John Waite and the Babys opened and rocked it as the opening act- been a big fan ever since
Thank you John, and all of the band, great music, even better era...
Well written song and David and company did a great job on it. 50 years later it still sounds great. I just wish he could have been happy before he past.
One of my favorites, I’m 67 years old.
I met my wife 30 years after this song was written. I know this song was meant for her from me!
John waite and Johnathan cain are masterminds when I comes to music. The ladies in the background vocals are just perfect.
.....back when music had a definite melody, and musical craftsmanship that you can enjoy and respect.....
What AMAZING singers! The gal crushed it!
She’s not singing live. This is the studio version audio.
Yes, I think she is a "stand in."
Myrna Matthews was a more powerful backup vocalist.
@@georgemajors1 The voices should be two women singing back-up vocals. Yeah, she's not the actual voice. Plus, where are the violins?
@@RosePetal17 She's a stand in for a stand in. Not sure where they got her but she doesn't look like she's putting in much effort.
John really knew how to do a love song!
Great Band.
A 70S Classic,excellent
Loved The Babys growing up!
I've been seeing a lot of his videos on UA-cam lately and that's how I learned about him/the band. I am definitely liking his music/songs.
He puts on a great live show!🎉

How I love this song! As a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 1975-1979 it resonates as teenage romance.

This is lip-sync. She is a stand-in.
The original background singer was Myrna Matthews.

Still great 🎶!
Wow, impressive production, even when they were only lip synching. Great to see this.
Song takes me back to someone in NYC about 1980.

Great song!
A young Jonathon Cain on the keys before his Journey gig.

John Waite is a God...
When John Waite appeared in Portugal with his "missing you", he seemed to come from nowhere but it was not true!
