I did the pcv replacement . 20 min to heat up pull off and install new. My new pcv snapped on. I did use a epoxy for seal it for long term. This man saved a lot of time on this install and no mess. Thank you Dicky's Garage. My job was graceful and it was pretty.
I got 2011 535i xdrive without start stop feature. It doesn't make squealing noise like that. But the engine is definitely louder than any other BMW. Sounds like there's a carpenter inside the engine. I really wonder what that is. Also there's no dipstick in my F10. I don't even know how to check the motor oil level. Any suggestion would be appreciated 👍
I have the same car, with color combination, year make and model......lol Yes i have the same issue and i have been driving by disengaging start stop when i hear that sound......lol Great video, glad i found you. Appreciate your information
Hey man my 2011 328i makes like turbo now at the start when starting then goes away.. Plus the stick on the ODmeter shakes for like 2 seconds then stops..
Hey could you please give me the part number for the crank seal? The genuine one I have does not come with the spring loaded part and neither does the one I bought using the vin. So if I can get the part number you bought I’ll get that. Thanks
@Dickey's Garage Any luck with the valve cover fixing the noise on the 535i? I replaced the PCV like you did on mine and it made it worse, so valve cover here I come.
@@dickysgarage7120 I did indeed, bought it from FCP Euro. Got it the other day and it fixed it, no more noise! TRY doing the vent hose (that's attached to the valve cover, part #11127584128) first, or at least inspect it. When I grabbed mine, it crumbled. I suspect this may have been the issue. It's under $50 and you should replace it anyway if you're doing the cover. If the tube is okay or it doesn't remedy, then I guess go for the valve cover ($446, ouch). Thanks for your video, it helped me along the way!
hey, so my car only makes this when it starts up, for about a few seconds, then goes away when the car is all warmed up. will the same solution in this video by the solution to mine aswell? any help is GREATLY appreciated ! thanks 😊
It's possible but hard to be 100% sure. The valve cover and gasket is pretty much a maintenance item on these cars so if it's never been done before you could take a shot at it and if it doesn't fix the noise you can consider it preventative maintenance.
I have this exact problem on my 2012 535i. So will changing the code so that the auto start/stop defaults to off permanently get rid of the noise you think? I don't even like the on/off feature. It's not a Prius, lol.
It didn't make the noise as much but the problem was still there. It's like using duct tape to fix a water hose. It'll work for a little while lol. Not having the start/stop is great though. Worth every penny for that.
How much does the replacing valve cover cost? I have a 640i 2012 and it's the same exact problem! It started off as intermittent and only occurred with the auto start-stop engaged but now it's happening more often even with the auto -start-stop off.
This is from SVT KevIn. He's pretty smart with this stuff. "Intake pressure sensor, not really a common fault. I would think intake leak or harness damage." Based on his thoughts I would inspect the harness closely and maybe check your mixture adaptations to see if they indicate excessive system enrichment to compensate for a vacuum leak. I hope this helps.
Never just throw parts at a BMW go to a BMW Technician who can properly diagnose the car with the right equipment you can pay them for the diagnosis and fix it yourself but trying to save money by figuring it out yourself and throwing parts at it you will destroy the engine. What you just did could have messed up the engine. If you are cheap don't buy a BMW plain and simple. Also only buy OEM valve cover or you will be replacing it again. BMWs hate non OEM parts. Good luck
Lmfao Yeah and you're probably the person who would say "Go to the dealership to buy a new OEM chargepipe and have them replace it" (A known shitty faulty plastic part where aftermarket parts are vastly superior) Lol

So with this issue it's either this or the valve cover gasket?
That bmw came from Saudi Arabia and is singing a every stop😁😄😆
😂😂
Qs if you don't fix this will if mess up anything in the long run?
So what was the problem again? My car is doing it now.

I replaced the pcv valve, and I still have the screeching sound happening after the engine warms up to 220, any advice?
I'd change the cam cover. It's likely something to do with a diaphragm inside the cam cover that can't be serviced separately.
@@dickysgarage7120 replaced the valve cover, runs excellent.. thanks massively

I have the new valve cover but I haven't done it just yet. Mine got worse too. I need to get out there and knock it out.
@@dickysgarage7120 Tore mine off last night, wasn't too bad (55 mins). Waiting for the new one to arrive (but damn that hurt the wallet! $$$).

Replace a new valve cover will definitely fix the problem. I did that on my 2011 F10 535i

It's oil on the serpentine belt guys from the oil filter it's leaking
Ur trunk will open and close from just the button inside the car as well. I never have to get out for pick up orders 😊
I have the same issue and it only happens when I have the auto shut off. I will try this hack.
