  • ►Direct fuel injection has become the standard across any new gasoline engine as it's allowed for increases in fuel efficiency and power production. BMW's N55 engine utilizes that tech, and while it's made the engine a tuner's delight, the injectors can fail and force a replacement. Replacing your BMW's fuel injectors isn't the toughest job in the world, but it will require patience, a few special tools, and a little reprogramming.
Your injectors will make it apparent when they begin to fail. Engine hesitation, bogging, poor performance, and fuel economy can all result from a bad injector. Once you know it needs replacement, you need to figure out which injectors you have. The N55 came with EU5 and EU6 injectors, and they aren't interchangeable. To find out which you'll need, check out this handy blog post.
Watch along as Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's Professional DIY'er, tackles a fuel injector replacement on a BMW F10 535i.

Thanks for the video. I'm sure many of us would appreciate if you also did a video on N55 valvetronic motor/eccentric shaft replacement with ECU relearn.

Another great video by Mike. Just as a suggestion, anytime a customer orders one of your kits, you should automatically link the appropriate DIY video for their use. Great job guys!

It would be satisfying to hear the engine start post install. And maybe a before after engine idle

Got all the way to attempting to install the CTA tool.
My 2011 F10 N55 has a different bracket system for the injectors.
Since I cannot secure the tool, when I attempt to unscrew with the adjustable wrench, the bracket just goes toward the injectors.

Do you have to reset small mixture adaptations after install and injector coding? Does that depend on if there is a different injector value pre and post install? (i.e. not 215 to 215)

Does it matter what order you put the new injectors in if the flow rates differ from the originals? Great vid btw.

Nope, you can install your new units however you like, so long as you register them in the correct order to the car!

Do you even have to code the new injectors if it’s all the same values anyways?
