You do know that the filter was dirty on top when you took it out, so that means that the air had to be going down .So that means that you had to put the arrows pointing down for air flow. Other than that, very good video. Thanks.
My daughters car was in the shop for a broken emergency brake cable, and they told us about her filter. They wanted $50.00 to change it out. Your video saved my $35.00. Thank you!
Thanks man, my dealer here in Gatineau, Quebec wanted to charge me $67 + taxes to replace that filter. With the help of my eBay friend and your instructions, I did it for under $15.
Great DIY video. I was at a Havoline Xpress oil change Monday, for an oil change. The guy showed me my dirty cabin filter on my 2004 Nissan Alitma. So I asked him how much is it for a new one with labor? $49.00 not including taxes. Get the bleep outta here. I'm gonna order me one off Ebay for less than $10 and put it in myself.
Thank you for this video. Much appreciated. This helped a lot as I am replacing my filter tomorrow. It's nice to be able to see it done before actually doing it myself. Thank you
I am glad that I ran to your video, I was about to unscrew the based on another video in youtube. Thanks a mil for your wonderful video. It took only 2 mins!!!!!
I have just bought a second hand car, Nissan Altima 2006, and I'm interested to know things about the car, so I had to watch your video. However , thanks for the interesting video. Best wishes *RED
I just want to add that the airflow is flowing downward but the guy pointed his airflow upward! So please note that airflow should be pointing down unless other brands say point up then airflow arrow should point down!
Sana Nhattivong Do you have this vehicle? the airflow is definitely going upward .if you replaced this filter you should know that the air isn't flowing into the engine...is that what your implying ..?
Thank you for showing this video, very helpful! But just to clarify, shouldn't the arrows point down? I could be wrong, but it appears that the airflow is downward. (Looks like all the crud and dirt was on the top of the filter.) Thanks again, much appreciated!
Nice video, very helpful. It's true you need only remove the lower glove box hinge pins and there's enough room to get at the filter box. I needed some steel wire hooks to undo the clips, just did this on a 2005 w/ original filter in it and they were really tight. Also, the filter arrow should point up on a 2005.
Nicely explained overall. However, pointing the arrow up doesn't make sense. The dirt is sitting on the top side of the filter, which suggests that the air flow is downwards, therefore the arrow should be down, not up. Do you agree?
It is a lock switch for the trunk. If you turn that switch off, then the trunk release button under the steering wont work. Basically it is for the purpose to make your trunk more secure in case someone break in the car and try to steal something from trunk (expensive subwoofer). For example if turned off that switch, locked the glove box, then your trunk cant be opened using the switch under the steering.
Harv Aulakh yeah, I was uninformed, and didnt know for 3 years, and always thought the trunk switch was broken. Then I found that trunk switch in the glovebox and felt like a dumbass.
You do realize, when you first tested your air flow it didn't blow out alot of air, because you didn't turn the nob to "max ac" now once you replaced the filter, I saw you turned the nob to "max ac" witch makes the air blow out faster. I have the same car.
Regardless of the switch position, the filter was dirty and restricting the flow of air. After replacing the filter there was a very noticeable improvement.
Hi there. I was able to get the glove compartment off but how do you get the two push clips to come out..mine is stuck it doesn't move at all...and help will be appreciated it..thanks great video
neil thomson mine were tough getting off . I'm sure you figured it out but I applied some pressure on the bottom of the clip and pried/pulled bottom of clip toward me and it popped off and didn't break the clips
I have a 2006 maxima and it's missing the access panel for the cabin air filter. I've tried to find where I could buy one but had no luck. Would you have any ideas on where I could find one? I've tried salvage yards but you have to buy the whole housing. Any help would be awesome, thank you

Arrow points down, which is the direction of the air flow.
no problem, thanks for the comment!
Oh yeah, we can tell from the air blowing on the mic.... Thx!
Great video, only issue is the filter arrow needs to point down as the air flow goes down.

This was soooooo helpful!!! Thank You!!
That was a breeze! thank you so much for the video! :)
air flow arrow should be pointing down when putting new filter in, otherwise very good video
Kk Ll negative ..why would the air be flowing down into the engine?
Air flow goes down. I just changed my air filter and the nissan filter had arrows going down.
It appears he is right. Air flow should go down.
Thanks saved my time
Thanks for the video. It is very helpful.

You are right, arrow should point down.I just changed mine today same way.
Your video really helped me out. Thank you so much.
Thanks ... my air flow through my vents is weak in my opinion to so Ill try this ...wont hurt (I have same year make and model with 0nky 86K

Airflow goes down point arrow down, I got it wrong at first as well
Thanks a lot!!
Great video, my wife did the job!....she has a question, in the glove compartment there is an ON and OFF botton, what is that for??
trunk
It is a lock switch for the trunk. If you turn that switch off, then the trunk release button under the steering wont work. Antonio cCamacho does it matter? you saw what the old filter looked like, it needed replacement.
I think you actually put the new filter in upside down- the arrow indicates air flow- not up.
Hi there. I was able to get the glove compartment off but how do you get the two push clips to come out..mine is stuck it doesn't move at all...and help will be appreciated it..thanks great video
***** the cover is difficult to remove. Try a flat screwdriver to help you get the tabs free being careful not to break the plastic
You took those clips real quick like if there was no pressure....I'll try tomorrow with a screw driver see how that goes.
I'm sorry does the filter arrow needs to point up or down.? Thanks for the great video?
Good work.
Hi again. I managed to get the clips off..but could'nt work out how to remove the cover to get filter out...
neil thomson mine were tough getting off . I'm sure you figured it out but I applied some pressure on the bottom of the clip and pried/pulled bottom of clip toward me and it popped off and didn't break the clips
You out the new filter in upside down. The arrows should have been pointing down.
"You see these two tabs that say 'Push' on them? I'm going to pull them..." I feel the labeling is misleading.
I have a 2006 maxima and it's missing the access panel for the cabin air filter. I've tried to find where I could buy one but had no luck. Would you have any ideas on where I could find one? I've tried salvage yards but you have to buy the whole housing. Any help would be awesome, thank you
try your local salvage yards or dealer
