Eco mode is a good idea when riding off road. It gives you finer control over the throttle because the whole travel is 0-40% instead of 0-100%, and you're unlikely to need more than 40% torque when greenlaning. Also it means that if you bump the throttle it gives you less additional torque, for example if you knock it in sport mode it might increase the torque by 20%, but in eco mode that would only be 8%.
Good stuff. I like the idea of EV for TET/Greenland’s etc. Maybe il try one soon. But just a little heads up, we’ll worth getting some goggles for green laning. Even if you are only doing 15mph. It’s super easy to have a wheel slip out and fall into a hedge. I very nearly lost an eye by song exactly that. Used a ADV helmet and used to flip up visor for slow off road stuff. And a stick went right into my eye socket. Amazing I did not lose an eye. Now I always use goggles. Don’t steam up. Can breathe hard and still get air.
I’m impressed with this bit of “off road”, the low speed track ability of the electric was something I hadn’t thought about 🤔👍. Those things hanging out into the lane are “Wait-a-minute” vines, just looking for an unsuspecting brake lever 😆. If I’m not mistaken, you had on the wrong helmet to be attracting flys 🦟! 😆😆😆
hello again spicy, sorry for spamming you with questions but is the front fender on the FX good? or when you ride in wet conditions, does your chest/helmet get dirty with mud?
@@spicy110 thanks. i don't see any dirt in this vid or another where you're riding in the rain. i suppose changing the front fender is also an option if the stock one sucks.
I'm ashamed to say it took me this long to realize the dash/cockpit wasn't your phone with an integrated app. Thinking about it, I think you would have had something to say about it not coming with a dash and forcing users to use their phone... but hey ho. Also love the idea of the Bee line gps, I use their app sometimes when I want to get "lost"
My way is a lot more work than most are willing to do as clearly I have to sync the audio to the video and that is a whole process of it's own in editing. Most use mics directly in to cameras and you will likely want to do the same starting out.
I wonder if, when you're coming down hill into a valley, you'd regen more energy to give you a bit of a boost uphill compared to "neutral" rolling down the hill and up the other side. Pretty impossible to test without a lot of specific equipment but my gut feeling is that regen would apply so much engine braking downhill that it'd be better to just roll down and up the other side. Thoughts?
Capturing energy from regen and using it to drive yourself up the hill will always be less efficient than just coasting and using that extra momentum to get up the hill
19:55 you are below foliage... and besides, GPS sucks. If you ever looked at raw data from a GPS "sensor" you would see how bad it it. It's good for average or if you have time and you are still (because you can average your position).

@@CuriousGoose in my nearly 50 years on this planet I've never heard anyone ever say rotor in the UK it's always called brake disc, rotor is very American.
@@Mean-bj8wp that's probably because the complete system (rotor & caliper) is referred to as a "disc brake" so unless you're a mechanic or a cyclist that's what you'll have heard. Mechanics or cyclists refer to the disc as a rotor because, well, that's what it's called.
@@CuriousGoose nah its always been brake disc and brake caliper whether a bike or car. Even on wheelers dealers they say brake disc then say for the American viewers that means rotor. Which one do you prefer, FXE or FX?
Good timing to ask that ua-cam.com/video/zJdNkGBuXJA/v-deo.html
You could in theory charge quite a bit faster using regen, it tops out somewhere around 4000W compared to 800W for the FX/FXE (1500W for the S/DS)

I use a separate voice recorder and use a modified sena boom mic.

you need a water proof gear sponsor.
