I'd love to see a detailed projector setting video. Specifically switching from a 4:3 for golf and then 16:9 for movies for the kids without having to move the projector and still making the most of the viewable screen real estate.
Your attention to detail is amazing. Thank you for all of your videos and information. Does the Carls enclosure include the EMT fittings if I opt to source my own straight pipe EMT like you did?
Hi! Was wondering if you could help me to understand something he said in the video. He said that there was no shipping and handling. I tried to order a premium screen last night but they added $930 in S&H. I can’t afford to pay that much just for shipping. Is it only free for the guy in this video because of his specific location? For reference, I am located in Central California. Any help is much appreciated as I would love to be able to order the piping kit.
Very nice setup, thanks for sharing. I notice your roof has a pitch. How high is the ceiling above your ball swing area and how high is it above the screen? This will help me with my room design. Thanks
That was from someone teeing up a driver way too high and hitting the crown… I have a full breakdown video that goes over the dimensions on the channel.
how much buffer space do you want between ceiling and enclosure so your ball doesn't hit the ceiling when it flexes? Also how much buffer on the sides so you don't hit the wall when it flexes?
Carl's actually answered for me..."we recommend 2-3 inches of buffer on top, and 2 inches of buffer on each side (so total width would be 4inches less."
Absolutely love your detailed content! I just bought the net return but after seeing this I might just go the Carls route. Was going to put in a indented insert in garage. 2 questions… how far is your hitting area from the impact screen? 2nd - Is this easily portable? I like to be able to set this up easily portable? Besides projector of course but the screen etc…? Appreciate u and keep it up!
Thanks brother! Good stuff. Would love to see how you set up the projector. I’m going back and forth from the ZH406ST and a used EH412st (to get a feel without breaking the bank and maybe upgrade to 4k later)
That’s not a bad plan at all! Keep an eye out for the GT1080HDR as well, I believe it is very similar to the EH412st. Obviously, if you have the budget you can’t go wrong with the GT1090HDR or ZH406ST. The image is great and the adjustment settings and calibration out of the box make setup a breeze!
@@PixelGolf just want to +1 this, all the projector stuff from picking it out to actually mounting it correcly was by far the hardest part of this for me (and it didnt really end up that great lol)
I’ve definitely tinkered with mine a time or two😂 AlThe important thing is to fit the height portion with positioning and adjust the width via computer settings. Try your best to get the lens as centered as possible.
@@PixelGolf I have the GT1080HDR projector and trying to set the image as good as possible but I’m wondering what computer settings you used to set up the image width? Would you mind to give us an example? Would be much appreciated!
I think if they are just getting started, there’s nothing wrong with buying a Garmin R10 or Optishot to get them going and spending the money on the rest of the kit first. You can always resell your launch monitor and upgrade it later, that’s not so easy on the rest of the build to do.
If I was to go with a little bigger than what is suggested on the carls site for 4:3 ratio what would be the downfall? Black lines on screen? I want a 102”x144” enclosure to fit perfect in my nook but when I type in my dimensions it says the biggest I can go is 96”x 126” for a 4:3 ratio.. what would happen if I went with the bigger setup? Thank you
They are likely just keeping it in basic ratios to not stench or trim the image. Mine isn’t an exact 4:3 however and I was able to just alter it a bit on the Nvidia GPU to something like 1080x1404. I would definitely dig a little deeper and even talk to Carls, those guys rock at CS! Sorry for the late reply… Lot of life events, but we are revamping the channel soon.
Thanks for the helpful videos. Quick question. Will this computer run GSPRO Will this computer run GSPRO? Acer Nitro 5 , 15.6" Full HD IPS 144Hz Display, 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti Laptop GPU, 16GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Home, AN515-57-5700
I am currently installing the same Carls sim in my garage … just epoxied the floor. Question: Where / How did you get the base turf (not the hitting mat but the large 10x15’ base green?????
I don’t see a reason why you can’t but I’m not sure so check with Optima. One thing to consider is when you go out of spec and stretch images you lose quality and brightness.
Still looking for a good alternative (the one I mentioned wore too quickly) so am using the same one. Thanks for your email, too. Reminded me to get on here and reply to comments.
That I don’t know for sure… I’m about 9’ above my hitting area and I am able to swing driver. One of my friends is 6’7” and he was able to swing driver as well.
Any complaints about the blp? The price increase sucks but I’d love no misreads and being able to drive off a tee and hit from a nearby area for the rest (using a SkyTrak now)
I really like the BLP, no real complaints aside from having to wait so long for FSX Play to drop and it still having issues… Misreads are not really a thing and it makes chipping and putting so enjoyable.
Hello Jorge, Thank you for the kind words! I went with the JBL 9.1 surround sound, it’s linked in the description. The reason I chose this is it gives you a 9.1 speaker configuration from a small package and sounds great! I simply plug in the main speaker infront of my screen and it has 2 wireless rear speakers that unclip and are placed behind the listening area to give rear sound and atmos, all wirelessly! The sun is also wireless and has a ton of bass! It sounds awesome and only needs 1 wire(the power plug) to get all of that sound.
Thanks, I really appreciate your video. I have been debating what size to use and this will help me fill my space the best way possible. I did have a question... If I were to get a 4:3 impact screen setup and with all of the projectors being 16:9, will I have difficulty filling the screen as you have yours? Or will I have wasted space on the impact screen? Thanks Again!!!
Use projector calculator on projector central. You’ll still need to make some minor adjustments from there. The most important thing is that it fits the height, the width can be adjusted through the graphics settings

Hello, we are just getting up and running again after time away. I will see if we can do a detailed overview of movie mode!
Cool, figuring best options now...thanks for info! Cheers! )
You bet!

Thank you for the comment. Yes, all fittings are included if you use your own emt.
thanks for the input.
Looking for projector setup video using a 16:9 projector, but showing on a 4:3 screen. I believe this is what you are doing, correct? Thanks!
I work for Carls, the DIY tool is a gamechanger

It could have been promotional, I’m not positive. Reach out to Carl’s, they have superb customer service.
Sir thanks for the video how can I buy the package since I am from the Philippines? Am right right this cost only $3,000 US ?
Check the links in the description for products. Not sure which items can ship to the Philippines.

I thought about that, but haven’t done it.
I live in Florida. Where did you get the putting turf from?

It can be taken down in under 20 minutes I’d say. Hitting area is 9.5’ from screen. I have another video with full dimensions breakdown on the channel

Think my 8ft ceiling is enough?
No. Not for a driver. Try swinging it indoors and see what happens
im torn becuase I want to buy a home that fits a build but its hard. Almost thinking of getting a large shed built with electric and all
That’s not a bad idea! Just take the process one step at a time. Take your time and it will be worth it in the end!
how tall are you ceilings?
I have a sloped ceiling but it’s 9 feet above my hitting area.
Is the gym mat material same as under your SIM grass? Thanks Mike
Hi Mike, sorry for the delay… Can you please clarify your question?
@@PixelGolf is the hitting mat sitting on the gym mat also? Or is hitting mat the only layer you hit off.
If you mean the hitting insert, it’s decoupled from the rest of the turf and stand-alone.
@@PixelGolf thanks
