Thanks really appreciate that! That’s awesome good lucky with it! It should work just need to work about ceiling height you need at least 8 and a half feet I’d say.
About 30 years ago I set up a net and a mat In my garage my garage is 20' by 19' I'll tell ya I wore that net out but having a video screen simulator in the house where anytime you want you could play would be so nice play 9 or 18 holes , I would really enjoy that , money well spent but no room in this house , thanks .
Hey Mike thanks for your comment man! Yeah I started with a Net as well and the cheap one I got at first I put a ball right through it in no time! I am very very lucky to have the full enclosure so I can take full shots and not have to worry. It is nice to get practice in when I can't get to the course especially in winter.
Great video - does the Garmin have to be on the ground? or could you potentially mount it above the ground out of the way... it would still be 7' minimum behind the ball but thinking of mounting it above my door?
Thanks for your comment Jeremy! Yes it has to be on the ground or it will not work correctly. You can’t mount it on the door unfortunately or your readings will be off.
Also wondering about sound from the iPad... can you still bluetooth to a speaker or is the Garmin using Bluetooth to connect to the iPad and tying up that resource?
Hi great video. I'm considering the r10, but your comment on the concrete being an issue for the radar has me worried. The building im considering building my sim in has concrete girding running across the ceiling. Will this affect the Garmin. It would be possible to cover them. Thanks
Hey thank you for the comment! Yes it could have an impact, which is directly from Garmin as concrete can affect the unit. Only real way to know for sure is to test it yourself. If you are unsure, if you can cover up the concrete then you won't have any issues as long as the concrete is covered! Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.
@@punchedgreensgolf thanks for the reply, i have plenty of supplies through work to help possibly. We have plenty of black or clear polyurethane sheeting, which i was thinking of "sealing" the enclosure off and covering all metal and concrete, and then a net for hitting into. Do you think the pvc would be ok or too reflective? If all goes well then I'll move up to a screen and projector, but want to test the surroundings and readings and reliability of the Garmin before going all out. Thanks
@@parcyberllanfarm6727 Yeah that should be fine. I would make sure to cover any concrete or metal directly in the line of sight in the Garmin. In my garage you can see I don't have the concrete walls covered and I am fine, it is really anything directly in the path of the Garmin, metal especially could cause an issue. If you use black sheeting you should be okay, I'm not sure on clear, but again you would need to test it. I think black is safe bet though. Sounds great good luck!!
Nice video. I am in the process of creating a simulator similar to yours. Regarding the projector, I know the Optoma 1080 is a native 16:9 aspect ratio. I believe the Ipad is a 4:3 AR, did you switch any settings in your projector to get the full screen image? Does it actually fill the entire screen? Thanks!
Hey Mike, thanks for the watch and comment! That's great having a golf sim is awesome. Yes it is native 16:9 and aspect ratio is 4:3 on the iPad. Because my enclosure is 4:3 anyway, I changed the aspect ratio settings on the projector to match. I then adjusted the zoom level and it fill almost the entire screen. If you go back to my older videos you will see what I am talking about. Now that I am on GSpro I just use my laptop and it fills it better, but the iPad filled it pretty good without issue/was good enough for me. Hope this helps! Good luck
Hey thanks for your question! They are 8 feet 6 inches so everything just fits! I can swing all my clubs no issue. I am 5 8 so if you are over 6 feet you might have an issue with that height. Let me know if you have any other questions, hope this helps!
Not a stupid question! It is the Garmin Home Tee Hero software . It is free to use the driving range but to golf up to 42k courses it costs $10 a month! It’s a pretty good deal! Hope this helps!
Nice idea man thanks!
No problem!!!
Nice video and it helped me figure out what I would need if I go this route.
Thanks Bill really appreciate that! Glad I could help!
Nice setup and Helpful video. Recently bought a Garmin and a portable net. considering an indoor enclosure in my 12 x 16 room. Hoping to make it work.

So wish I had the space for this! 😄
Haha one day! I am very fortunate to have this space

Yes you can ! You can connect to multiple Bluetooth devices

Did the impact screen come with the enclosure? Or was that purchased separately?
Hey Ian, thanks for your question! Yes it’s all one entire unit so the screen is built in
I have a quick question. How tall are the ceilings in your garage?

Stupid question but what app does the iPad run for the sim? Can you golf full courses?

@@punchedgreensgolf awesome thanks for the help!
What app are you using to get full screen with the Garmin? Tried the Garmin all and it’s like iPhone screen format
No separate app you can zoom in and also make it landscape mode.
Awesome golf? Or which one?
@@thegoalnet5915 oh sorry I’m using home tee hero and also e6 both able to do full screen
Coming to your house for a round 😁
hahaha I love it. I never want to leave!
How big is your garage?
2 car? 3 car?
It’s a tight 2 car garage but for now I just park 1 car in there
