On a whim, I decided to see where Ząbki was in Poland after seeing the text in the shard for the Alibi. Turns out it is next to Warsaw, and the CDPR offices are about 3 to 4 miles from it. So I guess the factory being talked about are the CDPR offices 😛

Oh no it is depressing, zabki was occupied from 1939 till 1944 by the Germans. But it was also the house to some of the warriors that took back Warsaw. I dare you to look up the heavy water factories. That’s probably what’s being referenced as it was used for nuclear fuel “something something discountinued for humanitarian concerns”
Poles were forced to do many awful things under both Soviet and German authorities. It is a reference to this. The Soviets have a strong presence in the Cyberpunk universe, and the irl Polish writers have every reason to despise them, given the humanitarian crimes they committed towards Polish peoples.
I'm surprised the kneel mod doesn't come with extra carry capacity with how it carries the shotguns in this game

@@lv83bloodknightI’ve seen like one rare version of it since 2.0 dropped. I wish some of the more eccentric mods dropped more often. Still, it gives me more reason to explore and get into fights with random mobs, which I fuckin’ love doing in this game.
I used to run around with Sovereign as it has the Doomslayer feel to it as the classic super shotgun, and Guts for jumping over enemies.
Did that too actually was really fun
Palica and Zhou are both absolute monsters with a cyberdeck and maxed out smart weapon perks. I run an int/body build and these weapons are insanely powerful with my build.
Essentially when you run overclock you get instant lock on, the smart weapon perks make sure almost all rockets hit and if you open combat with legendary contagion, you essentially get Ba Xing Chong as all enemies explode due to contagion’s secondary effects.
I’ve tried int/cool and int/reflexes as well and the int/body build is truly the most powerful. Not to mention how well the adrenaline tree synergizes with overclock. Definitely try it sometime!
Regardless of its placement now, blowing people backwards with Guts is endlessly satisfying

I wish you'd ignored the kneel! mod for purposes of making the list. It's so overpowered it renders the exercise kind of pointless and isn't something you'd actually want to use.
The “Sovereign” Igla reminds me so much of the Super Shotgun from DOOM. Perhaps not the most practical shotgun among the bunch, but respect to the Kings and Queens of Night City who main it.
Feel like the Kneel mod is bugged. Perhaps they intended it to have 25% chance to kill per click on the legs, not per pellet
Where are you people getting that mod from? I have hundreds of hours on 2.0 and have never seen this thing anywhere....
@@XLbuffLive No. you get one of 4 unique mods from the chimera core Firecracker, Wallpuncher, Hackatomy, or Severance each for one type of weapons - power, tech, smart or melee. You don't get a shotgun mod. That mod is one of 4 mods that Sam talked about in another video that he said he has no idea how to get other then to use a cheat to manually add it and asked if people found one of them. Now I have one of those 4 mods but I have no clue where I got it and it is not that one.

@@AlexanderVRadev ah true, I have never used Severance, but I remember it has a similar effect, forgot it was for melee weapons.
@@AlexanderVRadev the Kneel mod can be found and in any gun vendors with lower tier (rare, epic), then you can craft legendary one with 2 epic kneel.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Kneel was meant to be per-shot instead of per-projectile. A 25% chance of instakill per-projectile on a shotgun is obviously broken.
Where do you even get it?
I know it got nerfed with PL but I still love Sovereign. If you get the implant to EMP blast on reload, every shot is an explosion, especially if you are using weakspots then you can get a cool chain reaction in groups. Never heard of Kneel before this though, seems very OP. Order is great too, I love the way enemies kinda line up for you when you use it.
I think you’ve underrated the deserter for two reasons. It synergizes extremely well with the burn this city perk and it benefits from explosive damage buffs.
...and it triggers Shock-n-Awe with its fire DOT.

From the time I saw Order in the Phantom Liberty gameplay trailer I knew that I need this gun in my shotgun based builds. It's just so badass to obliterate a bunch of gonks with one charged up shot
Heck yeah. Shotguns are my favorite Cyberpunk weapons. This lines up directly with my experiences in 2.0 Cyberpunk on my Nomad playthrough. I walked around with the XMod 2 Pozhar, Wild Dog, and Guts with a Body, Reflexes, and Tech-Heavy build. So, so fun.

Shock-N-Awe is a great Cyberware to use with the Dezerter. Everytime the Dezerter sets you on fire you have a change to unleash a huge electroshock.
I love shock n awe but I had to swap it out for something better :(

Painducer also pairs great with Shock-N-Awe. It basically guarantees that Shock-N-Awe will trigger, even multiple times, and the self-damage feeds back into Painducer.
Your vids really help me know what I want in a game that's so easy to get lost in. Not just in a good way, there are so many different stats and customisation options that I just wing it most of the time and hope for the best.

Even before the shotgun overhaul(which is outstanding), the Satara was just such a dopamine rush to look at and use.
Headsman is definitely my fav shotgun, it pairs so nicely with sandy

I’m honestly surprised that the Igla was so low on this list. Maybe it’s just me, but any time I start a new game, any build, I keep an Igla in my back pocket, just in case. It is such a convenient gun in every way. Super easy to find early game, it’ll either be this or the Carnage for enemy drops, so no buying crafting specs or hunting for one. It deals a huge amount of damage even when unmodded and not using shotgun perks, and a lot of that is because of how fast it is. It is so convenient to be able to shoot twice and have both shots come back in no time because of how fast the reload speed is. It honestly makes me think that the early game is sort of a blind spot in these lists, because once I do start to pick up more cyberware and better weapons for my build, the Igla gets dropped. That being said, that’s usually after I get 10 levels of the body trait just from using it in scanner hustles and quick gigs.
Sovereign is the way to go. ADS firing both rounds at once and fastest reload speed of any gun in the game. Sovereign + Sandy = watch entire gangs explode limb-from-limb in slow motion 😂
Igla 5++ till the end game +100% vivisector and most of the chrome bonus to reload speed
I never used the Igla, even on my shotgun builds. Maybe it's the difficulty settings but two rounds didn't typically cut it on Very Hard. You might drop one enemy, sure, but I guarantee you the other Tyger Claws aren't going to politely wait for you to reload.
Also, being useful early game might be nice, but if you play the game for 1000 hours your early game percentage is going to be fairly small and only diminish over time.

it's not that the Igla is bad but that there are FAR better options and shotguns are arguably a bit too strong in this game.
I think you described it well, it's something useful early game that you drop at the 100hr mark. That helps a player to feel that they progressed and got stronger, if they start with an entirely obsolete duck gun that's older than your grampa
When getting a higher tier Carnage, Tactician, or Pozha, it feels like a real upgrade in power and technology if the last thing they were using was an Igla.
24:13 Order doesn't need Kneel; it just makes the enemies' legs jump off!
The Palica shotgun is kind of strange and their projectiles kind of launch like a Javelin missile, IE they drop a bit before rocketing off. I have found better luck locking on, then firing upwards so the projectiles rain down from above. It's awesome.

Testera should definitely be above the Crusher and Guts, no other non-iconic/xMOD2 Shotgun is as efficient and reliable at dispatching enemies. Get a 5++ Legendary Testera, put Firecracker and Pyro mods on it, use a Microgenerator and you'll have a less hideous Dezerter with much less recoil that is almost unmatched in all-around utility and handling

How do you get a 5++ Tesetra with 2 upgrade slots? I've only been able to craft regular legendarys of it and sometimes vendors will have a 5+ one with a single upgrade slot.
Just wanna say I really enjoy watching your videos and theory-crafting builds. Every time I watch one of your vids I wanna start another playthrough and try something new.
I just did a Shotgun build my last playthrough mainly using the Satara, Crusher, and Alabai. All work super well with a Sandevistan. I never found the XMOD2 Pozhar or the "Kneel!" mod but I still had a great time obliterating people.
zhou is fantastic when you're specced into intelligence and even better when you use overclock, I have a body/intelligence/cool build and it's definitely top 3 preferred shotguns for that
Kneel and the mod that tightens your pellets on the Testera makes it a mid range killing machine. Even without kneel, I was really surprised at the increased damage in practice (despite what the weapon card says) that comes from most of your pellets actually hitting. It’s probably my favorite shotgun set up.
My favourite gun back before I had Phantom Liberty was definitely the testera, it’s great to see it have an awesome iconic now!
The constantly being on fire thing is a bit annoying though.
Kneel! Is bugged. You shouldn’t have made it a factor in shotgun viability,
I had a lot of fun starting phantom liberty using sovereign and the caretaker shovel with the berserker OS. Popping it when fights got too overwhelming for the shotgun turning into some sort of invincible WW1 trench rusher with an excavation tool was cathartic (using the blunt weapon charge perk) especially juxtaposed against the world of smart weapons, quick hacks, and all sorts of tech

Lol, how can they say that ? Satara definitely very strong even before ver. 1.6, it's my go to gun when I play with body tree 😂
So glad you didn't put Order over the basic Satara. Order is good and all, but once you find a Legendary++ with 2 open mod slots (not as difficult as it sounds), it can easily exceed Order in DPS, and gives much more flexibility than always firing both barrels and a slower reload. Throwing on Wallpuncher and a Tier 5 Vivisector (or whatever you prefer) and it is OP even without any perks to Body.
small note to the Order you can actually reset your double jump and dash midair by shooting quickly and getting knocked back allowing you to jump higher or further than ever before. This also somewhat works with the Guts however the knockback is much smaller and therefor sometimes makes it harder to pull off, but at least you dont have to reload for every shot (you can only reset the jump and dash once tho even if you shoot twice mid air)
They patched this specific bug in 2.12 :(
It's insane how they are still fixing things from *the beginning of the base game*. Order and its knockback effect has been here since the game released in 2020 and now it's 2024...
@@AdamOwenBrowning uhm pretty sure its still there, I used it like a week ago on the current patch. also Order was a new weapon with Phantom Liberty, air dash was also a new feature in 2.0. im not 100% sure if a weapon like comrades hammer was able to reset double jump in the past tho, or guts after it was added after edgerunners.
if you want to test it a bit i recommend going to the sewer canal and just try to jump from one end to the other. you can either shoot order straight down for slightly more height or you can kinda shoot it at an 45° angle downwards pointing to your back to jump even further ^^ (also you dont have to charge order just do a quick shots its enough to trigger the knockback)

Oh yeah, the Satara...if you've cranked up the Tech tree so you get the Bolt shots, ignoring armor and setting the target plus nearby enemies on fire, that gun is ABJECT DEATH INCARNATE at closer ranges. If you're rocking one of these for close range and the Nekomata tech sniper rifle for long range there is very, very little the game can throw at you that you won't be able to handle. The Tech guns are just awesome.
My favorite build was the Satara with all tech and shotgun perks. I used the chimera core for the mod because it is insane. That alone is good, but I decided I wanted to quickhack between reloading so I also had quickhacking. I could stealth without it or kill everything.
It was a favorite build ever
The Satara has always been my favorite shotgun ever since the first gameplay reveal for the game! Seeing the magnets charging up and steaming has always been a dopamine hit! Lately I’ve fell in love with the Order since I’ve finally tried out the dlc, any other shotgun just doesn’t feel right. Always hated how low UA-camrs placed it since they believed you had to always charge it up to deal damage, even though it only does more when using perks. Just a shotgun that shoots through walls likes multipellet railgun! I hope Satara comes back in the next cyberpunk game.
Maybe I'm just insane but I love using the headsman at mid and close ranges as well. Walking through the battlefield taking 1 head for 1 shot is very satisfying.
For those who want the Kneel! mod.
The way I got my Kneel! mods on Patch 2.1 is by buying them from gun vendors (I don't think it matters which one, but I definitely got 1 from Wilson) with the use of auto-save scumming.
Step 1: Have some weapons to sell (rarity doesn't matter).
Step 2: Approach a gun vendor & save the game.
Step 3: Sell unwanted weapons & exit the vendor menu (this should trigger an auto-save unless you changed the auto-save options).
Step 4: Load the auto-save that was just created.
Step 5: Enter the vendor menu again, the vendor should have some stuff that wasn't there before, which is how I got my Kneel! mods.
If loading the auto-save doesn't provide you with the mod you want then delete the auto-save and reload the save from Step 2 and repeat until you are blessed by RNGreat fortune.
Animation cancelling is something I don’t see mentioned enough with shotguns, considering how often they reload and the fact that quick attacks play a key role in a lot of shotgun builds. In the case of Ba-Xing-Chong specifically: equipping the burn this city perk and then throwing a grenade mid-reload to end the reload early both increases damage immensely and consistently gives pyromania to ensure you always have the 50% mitigation bonus from the burn this city perk AND the added mitigation of the regular pyromania stacks.
So pleased i picked up a 5+ satara on my tech build last night 😊
I completely fell in love with the Pozhar X-Mod 2 as soon as i found it. My loadout was the Pozhar, Hercules 3AX, and Raiju, electric PLS, and Apogee Sandy on top of that. I was completely unstoppable. Made shotgun builds one of my favs in the whole game
Me too! It's so quick, so accurate, while still doing good damage, super fast reload, love this shottie!! Combined it with an all-yellow outfit for V including the yellow motorcycle helmet looks SO badass with the Pozhar in hand! I really can't decide if I love shotguns or SMGs more, they are both so fun to play!
At last the time has come. As someone who uses a shotgun build as their main Ive been waiting on this one. It took me way too long to find kneel I felt like I played through most of the game but it’s definitely op and helped during the reaper

Crazy to think the Igla was underpowered; I used it as my primary shotgun. Mainly I guess my style of sprint and cover, plus quickly unloading both barrels directly in the face of my target made it seem like the strongest option. My most recent playthrough has been with Tech weapons, so the Satara has since changed my mind.
I am currently playing the shotgun/tank/bruiser build and amstaff is incredible, especially with "Rip and Tear" perk. Really fast attack speed combined with melee attacks to finish off enemies is really fun and poweful. I really recommend trying it out.
I commented in previous video why Satara is just the goat.
1. 2 shots in the mag
2. Wall penetrating
3. Tech weap damage bonuses
4. BOLT SHOT ---> Massivly reduced reload +charge speed
5. Perk to overcharge tech weapons to 200%/ cause EMP/ full penetration.
6. Bonus: Melee first on a regular guy for extra double damage on next shot = Any majors evaporate.
While I appreciate the Kneel mod and the game changing elements it offers, I was really hoping to have a tier list of each of the shotguns in their base forms, without mods. Mods are great, but they are also somewhat RNG and so looking for a shotgun for the chance to install a mod that cannot be uninstalled to switch seems a bit underwhelming. I liked how in the other videos, you tend to suggest mods that synergise well with the gun, but here the Kneel mod has basically become part of the tier list itself instead of a suggested optional addition. I really enjoy your videos but this one feels like it missed the mark (like the Palica)
Yeah especially given that it will definitely get patched giving the list a very short shelf life. Kinda feel like he got abit carried away.
Any of the double barreled shotguns I found to be absolutely amazing when combined with the reduced reload for shotguns perk and the cyberware that increases damage after reloading. It's kind of a no brainer, and even with just these two mods (which are available fairly early) your damage becomes absolutely busted at low levels, particularly if you grind enough to get the +damage after melee perk.
I prefer the ones that aren't tech though, since melee/charging/firing shotguns is a lot riskier than melee/fire/ or fire/melee/fire.. and smart shotguns are very questionable since the whole point is to swiss cheese an enemy when you invade their personal space.
It's funny because Palica is my favorite smart weapon. The Zhuo is up there too.
There's a trick with the Palica. You have to aim high after lockon so the projectiles drop down on the target's head, going over cover if applicable.
Order became my absolute favorite shotgun post 2.0, it's just so insanely satisfying annihilating everything in front of you with one massive shot

I just completed Phantom Liberty with my Shotgun and Katana build. I used Guts, M2038 (modified and upgraded) and Satori. Very fun wat to play.

The Headsman is my favorite shotgun even for close quarters. It's easier to do headshots point blank.

Missed one. I obtained a tier 5 carnage loaded with two tier 3 vivisectors while grinding NCPD gigs. Unfortunately, I don’t remember which one, but I do remember it was in the northern part of NC. It does more damage than any other weapon I have found. It typically one shots any opponent 90% of the time. 100% if I get a headshot. Most corpses are giblets. It tears them up so much that I have had to become something of an expert at distinguishing amputated limbs from rifles lying on the ground far from their victims bodies. The only drawback is the slow reload time. I have found it useful to load a contagion/overload quickhack to my nearest opponents while reloading to keep them occupied.
Satara is even better when paired with the chimera tech mod

Confirming my biases, I kept wanting to try different shotguns, but could never wander too far from the Satara. It’s just too good, and I was kind of disappointed by Order, because it was somehow less good than the iconic version

For those having trouble finding the party the Pozhar X-MOD2 is at, its not has simple has "Go to a building" , go to the big orange crane between Kress st and the stacks and follow it up till you see the walkways after 12am,if there is people there , the door will be open, if not run away and come back till you see people and run in and get your shotgun

For the ones that can, when you do smgs again, be sure to test firecracker. A 5++ Saratoga goes from average to so much fun, and the Guillotine mod-x2 with it is even more nutty
I actually disagree with a lot of the rankings in this video. I find it surprising that Order is so high up on the list, considering it takes eons to charge up and another century to reload, just to kill one enemy. Mox for me is at least top 2 for iconics, maybe a bit below dezerter, because my experience using it for the 3/4th of the game in very hard, if you go close enough, it is around 80%-90% dismemberment, 1 shot for normal enemies and 2 shot MAX for elite enemies, and upon that, the dash reload ability goes so well with it as well.
My favorite Shotgun actually is the Palica, would've not thought you would rank it at the very bottom.
I'm even more surprised the Zhuo is just above it and not higher than Carnage.
I feel like basing this whole tier list off of a bugged weapon mod was probably not a great idea, since it might get patched and then just like that this whole video is obsolete. These weapons should be ranked on their own merits, not a bugged mod.
I tried to balance it a little. Hence there's still a bunch of iconics higher up the list. If I were basing it entirely on the mod then iconics would be weirdly at the bottom entirely. Might redo it if Kneel gets patched, though the order would only rejig slightly.
Dezerter feels so good paired with the Rip and Tear perk.

I LOVE shotguns that shoot the whole mag at once, since it allows them to proc microgenerator with each shot, especially fun with dezerter
Ba Xing Chong will forever be my favorite. Upgrading it whilst having tech & shotgun perks along with it? PFFFT! I can literally just bum rush everything and finish it in no time.
You forgot to add that Satara not only can have Kneel but also the iconic Wallpuncher mod. Making it one shot small enemies and charge big hits on bosses. In fact it's so OP that I don't use Kneel at all, "just" an Equalizer...
I think you underrated Dezerter, I'm just addicted to it, 75% armor pen, and Shock n Awe Spam is just too fun.
For me nothing beats the Crusher/Amstaff, lots of semi auto shotgun damage, lighting fast reload, tight pellets that make mid range possible but not so tight that it makes close quarter fights difficult. Literally a perfect shotty in my eyes.
The Palicia is actually quite good as a sidearm in a netrunner build with the perk giving instant targeting. Basically only use it with overclock active, and it absolutely shreds bosses. Add in the chimera perk and it'll be doing a quickhack every 2 shots or so.

My favorite shotgun build was a hybrid body/reflex character I called "Thor." He used Order, but would exclusively fire charged bolt shots from the air using Air Kerenzikov and airdashes. Firing a fully charged tech shotgun in the air actually resets both your double jump and air dash, so I could jump in, air dash, unleash a thunderbolt of punishment, and jump-dash out again. If you could rename weapons, Order would have become "Thor's Hammer" in a heartbeat, lol

I love your reviews, I feel they are thoughtful and well researched, and while subjective, they are on point. This is a minor quibble, however I place the standard Satara (or however it's spelled) over the Dezerter. The reason is twofold. In my case, I was lucky enough to get a 5++ Satara with 2 open mod slots in which I have the Firecracker mod and a Kneel!. With the shotgun perks, Up to a 15 body, I rarely have to hit anyone twice outside of bosses. Even the big miniboss guarding the Barghast soldier only took 3 shots, and I'm pretty sure one of those shots was me missing or barely hitting him. The Dezerter by contrast reloads slower, does less damage, and handles worse. I'm also curious as to your thoughts about this ranking factoring the microgenerator hand cyberware?
Ive been using 'Guts' my entire playthrough and it's my favorite weapon in the entire game.
Every shot feels like I just Nuked the enemy with a Fatman from Fallout.
As for the chaotic recoil and kick, I've used the gun so much I hardly notice it anymore.
Guts is by far the best parkour weapon. Upon shooting it, you replenish the dash and the jump so you can double jump, shoot down and then jump again which is insane for movement. I have moments of circling around enemies and not dropping down cuz I can simply stay in the air forever with it
Podzhar XMod2 + Firecracker and Kneel is just insane, one shot nearly everything and they go flying 10m in the air lol !
Probably the most underrated gun type imo
the Stara have been my favorite gun since launch, i love how powerful and versatile it is. its a real struggle not to use it in a new playthrough.
Honestly I would have rathered you ignored the Kneel mod for this video, hearing it being mentioned for each and every gun just felt redundant and made me think "Why am I watching if he's gonna say the exact same thing for each spot on the list".
Okay, I pulled this video up specifically to share an OP tactic, insanity. Add the Firecracker to your Kneel! shotgun and ALL YOUR SHOTS ARE INSTAKILLS. Because all pellets are now explosive, they all count towards dismemberment.
Its so stupid I had to plaster it on a Satara because on auto shotguns you are simply unkillable, especially with Apogee.

I used a crusher with a fire mod on it through like 2/3rds of my first playthrough. Pretty sure I killed Smasher for the first time with it. I'd been running a cool based crit type build for maximum headshot damage and it worked really well with that because of it's accuracy.
Been having a lot of fun with Bloody Maria and Headsman in the game without Phantom Liberty, though Guts might be pushing Maria out I love it so much. I'm really interested to try the Dezerter since it looks like it plays with the Tech fire perks very well.

Not sure if I'm the only one.But when I changed over to using the Satara in PL, I kept seeing the enemy no damage bug more and more. And I would have to revert to an earlier safe to undo it. But yeah, will it works, it's fun as hell.
