UPDATE! In 2.1 they added another 5 bikes to the game.
They're pretty much just more reskins of the Apollo, Nazare and Kusanagi again but I added them to the rankings anyway (along with the new Porsche).

The black model of the Kusanagi is actually my favourite vehicle in the game, cause it looks so badass. Bikes feel just so much better to drive (espcially in first person). So sad we didn't get a car customization feature.
I like to call that version the robocop bike
They should make a customization focused update as i feel like 2.0 was a gameplay focused update. They should add more Gun customization, Vehicle customization and way better V customization like cosmetical cyberware, body adjustments, more hairstyles, more tattoos just more everything on that aspect and add New Game Plus already goddam.
If you're on PC, its fairly simple to replace the vanilla bikes with other variants from around the game with a mod; Personally, I have the black Kusanagi, a White/Red Arch, and a White Apollo with all the extra storage boxes, for maximum Nomad vibes
Dont you hate it when you find your preem bike then do a side job and it de-spawns 😭
One thing to note is that when using melee on a bike you have a lot more range in first person so provided that you use a sandy in tandem, it can be a deadly combo.
I could see it being an opener type move, go flying in on your bike slicing the first gonk, using the jump off perk to launch your bike at his choom and then get killin the rest

I just gotta say: One of the Cyberpunk collector figurines is V on the Kusanagi CT-3X with one arm having a mantis blade opened.
Since we can use swords one handed on bikes in 2.0 now, it's just a shame that we still can't use mantis blades while on a bike. Just seems like a pretty easy fix though, hope that comes through one day
I wish we could have alike a garage spot where we can change the color of the Kuzanagi.

Its also a Fun fact that not only is the Kusanagi based on the Akira bike design but its also named after another Sci-Fi juggernaught: Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell. Another Merc that wipes the floor with gonks
Love the Ghost in the shell references since it's pure cyberpunk it's like edgerunners before edgerunners for me I go back and read the Manga and rewatch the anime every few years cause the series is awesome probably the reason cyberpunk is a favorite of mine especially after 2.0 😂

There is Yaiba Kusanagi... and then there are other vehicles in Cyberpunk :) During all three playthroughs, last one with Phantom Liberty, I have tried almost every car or bike, but emotion/immersion-wise nothing comes closer to this bike. When V rides through Night City on Yaiba Kusanagi, it truly embodies the menace/hero/powerhouse and legend V is.
I'm so attached to at this point that I bought the IRL scale model to have sitting above my desk, lol

Would be cooler if it were a feet forward bike like Kaneda's.

The Kusanagi honestly reminded me of an Extreme-G Bike.

Every other vehicle is impossible to drive. I don't use cars because they spin out at every turn.

i like the fact that the kusanagi has stickers on it, like v has actually customised it themselves. the other bikes look factory new whereas the kusanagi gives off the look of something that has been around
Yes! I knew i wasnt crazy to find kusanagi slightly faster while actually looking futuristic. Always ride it over anything
You also get Jackies tuned Arch, when you start with the Phantom Liberty Shortcut Storyline (started as Streetkid - got the tuned Arch)

Man, I've only recently been watching your videos and they're a gold mine for lore and ever since then been going down the Cyberpunk rabbit hole. I even bought the Cyberpunk RED ttrpg book to maybe DM a game soon, this world is far more fascinating than I believed at first. Thanks chombatta, you're partially responsible for me getting a new hobby.
Bikes are, and always have been my preferred method of travel in CP2077. I just really really really wish they had incorporated a reliable and well done wheelie mechanic into the game.
Style over substance cannot be better espoused than by a merc on a bike with neon lit up wheels doing a wheelie through a group of Voodoo Boys while Sysnapse Burning in Overclock the group.

Agreed! The only really way to wheelie is to shoot about 3 feet directly behind or in front with one of the hand cannons. It pretty much always ends in swerving though, losing speed and control
This is why I like the super low sports cars in the game - though not mine, but other peoples'. Perfect wheelie ramps! :D
I'm not sure about the other platforms but on PC, you just hold CTRL and you weight shift to the rear and wheelie no problem. You can also hold L SHIFT and you can weight transfer forward.

I want to make it soon but that a pistols are the two I keep pushing back because of how long they'll take. Realistically I should set aside odd days to slowly work through them but I tend to focus on one project at a time. Looking forward to the Dogtown video though and want to make it as detailed but also concise as I can

I also find the Kusanagi to be the best bike. Especially for the Akira reference. But for me it is closly followed by the yellow Arch Nazare - if you wear the correct outfit. Use a female V and the yellow jumpsuit, take out a Katana, and you will never be closer to Kill Bill. And the crazy 88 might just be another street gang of Night city. Btw love your ranking videos.

Man, I miss my old black Kusanagi. I forget exactly what update it started with (it was an early version), but at some point I noticed in my travels that a few bikes were persistent and did not despawn. They were in the same spot I left them at hours or days prior, then I started driving them to different places, and sure enough they'd remain there when I returned later. Eventually I decided to start collecting them and I brought them back to the parking garage in V's megabuilding. All told I had 4 bikes stored in a single parking space for probably a good 40-50 hours of game time until one of the updates before 1.6 despawned them. Unfortunately I could not get this glitch to work for the Wraiths version of the Shion, that would've been sick, but cars just didn't seem to stick for more than a little while.
Seriously though, without bikes navigating trough night city would be a real pain. I find pretty much all of the car driving "terrible". Bikes allow you not only better mobility they also allow you to get trough the traffic at higher speeds. I really hope in their next Cyberpunk game the developers will spend more time working on their vehicles and most importantly how they drive. It does not "feel" like you're driving a vehicle but rather riding a heavy cow steering on ice.

When you had mentioned in an earlier video that you were making a phantom liberty car (and later the mention of motorcycles) rankings video, I ligit waited for it to come out and didnt watch anything else like that that came up in my feed 🤣I do have an idea for you, if you are interested.. but if you could make a video detailing possible "orion" storylines and characters they might explore. Maybe it will be a prequel and feature morgan blackhand🤷♂

They're the only vehicles that don't spin out if you slightly turn lol

Haven’t given the kusanagi a try yet, but so far my favorite bike has always been Jackie’s Arch. It may not be the best performing, but I’m pretty sure my big choom’s getting a kick out of me ripping through the city on his wheels while sandy shotting honks with his pistols.

I'm here after the 2.1 announcement and I feel bad for ya but also happy at the same tine we are getting more bikes. Weren't too many in game to buy atleast.

One thing that I found with the Kusanagi is that it maneuvers like a brick at low speeds, which makes sense, given the design. It really only starts to get into the realm of controllable above 30 or 40 mph.

The bikes are probably my favorite travel method because travel by bike is just so much easier and more fun.
I didn't know about the malina mobile because i didn't choose the good choices, it will be for my second playthrough thanks to you. The Kusanagi is beautiful, she's my favorite and i have watch Akira because of it 👍

I really wish they added more bikes in PL, a cruiser Harley style bike, a prototype Yaiba, a goofy motocompo, weaponised Apollo (imagine having some pocket rockets on one).
i actually prefer how the bikes handle over cars in the game. First playthrough was on Jackie's Arch, second on the Kusanagi. Jackie's handles superb but can't beat that Kusanagi top speed (especially going to see Juday at the Dam)
I always stop whatever I'm doing and click play when I see a Sam video. It's just a natural impulse at this point.

The Kusanagi has been my favourite vehicle since release and even with the new stuff in PL I still fold and buy it as soon as it's available in every playthrough. Flying through traffic with the radio on is the best way to get from A to B in my opinion.
I wish there was a black/red Kusanagi, you could own. I actually saw one a ganger had, it was so clean black with a little bit of red trim and a beautiful red windshield. 10/10
I bought the ultimate edition of Cyberpunk 2 weeks ago, I went in blind thinking that this game is another "FarCry" esque game, but no, this game is beyond amazing, the story, the creativity with builds, the satifying klang of shotgun shells, and cyberware perks, all of it.
I saw the Kusanagi randomly on the autofixer and I thought, I want to make the iconic Akira slide using this bike because it reminds me of both Akira and Ghost in the Shell (Major Kusanagi). I practiced, and it's now my wallaper on my PC. Absolute goated bike.
And now you already need to redo it because of all the bikes added in 2.1... I'd like to say I feel sorry for you, but honestly I am glad I get to see you rank even more bikes!
I usually drive "Jackie's Tuned Arch" which has slightly better stats than "Jackie's Arch", i got the tuned version by doing a second playthrough of Phantom Liberty and chose the option to skip directly to start with Phantom Liberty at the start from the menu. If i could add another vehicle in this game it would be a Quad, that would rock in the badlands.
The Yaiba kusanagi is also a reference to Motoko Kusanagi, also known as The Major from Ghodt in the Shell
I like the realistic way V's hair hangs straight down even when blistering down the road @ 170mph on a bike
I mainly used Jackie's ARCH and then went and got the Kusanagi CT 3X later down the line. I like the motorcycles more than the cars, more free and more evasive so I can launch off of upwards roads and go super far
The sound of the Kusanagi is similar to Japanese racing bike and I love that the most about this bike

The itsumade can still be acquired during the prologue you have to get it before talking to to Jackie about going to see vic tho otherwise it may not show up in your car menu until after the prologue
Jackie's Arch is always my favorite because I feel like he's over my shoulder smiling.
The Apollo bikes do have a stash box on the back which I believe is a unique trait. So it does do something pretty unique.
I dunno about the current version of the game, but back in the day all bikes had a stash option if I recall correctly. I know for a fact I've used them a couple of times on other bikes, and I never acquired that fugly Apollo with the bin since I only go for vehicles I like.
I've been able to access my stash from the Kusanagi, but there's no box, just kinda have to look at the rear of the vehicle right.
Slightly annoyed I missed upgrading Jackie's bike, my first playthrough has been as a nomad, but I hadn't put any points into tech just yet, but it's good to know it's only a slight increase.
This video is gonna have to be remade, because on the 5th, we’re getting five new bikes, and a complete rework to bike traversal and combat with 2.1

unless there is a reason to use a car, i usually use the Yaiba Kusinagi first and jackie's second (if I have to wait for the kusinagi to cool down after it goes "boom"). reason isn't just speed but i can navigate traffic better because i can squeeze between car traffic especially in city center, Heywood, and those single lane areas in watson (like the gig to get scalpel)
The "Drive me closer, I want to hit it with my sword" option of Cyberpunk :D
if you need to have a sharp turn on a bike, hit the hand brakes early and accelerate again halfway during the turn. Takes some practice but you will feel like a badass after pulling it off several times. Bikes r just too good in Night City.

The Yaiba was was the only bike I bought in the game, and I do not regret my decision. Driving it around night city is spectacular. However, I YEARN for an Arch bike irl.
I like the version of the #1 bike that’s lighter and has the ☢️ for the speedometer
Holding V down swaps the lights of the vehicle. It doesn't make the bike glow brighter but instead you just swap to light the wheel up
So rocket jumping is now a thing in Cyberpunk. *Rocket Jump Waltz plays*
I wish they's added more bikes in 2.0/Phantom Liberty. Love riding in CP, but I kind of wanded a few more varients.
Oh cool, didn't knew that the tuned version of Jacki's bike now has better stats. On release of the game both had the exact same stats and just the name was different. I assumed it's still like that, but it seems they changed that in one of the patches.
I do my best not to touch cars in game but between Jackie's and Scorpions, they are my go to's depending if I'm in the city or out in the dirt
I wish there were more, and different motorcycles in this game. It's such a shame we didn't get anything actually new with PL.
It is a shame that there's pretty much just 3 models. I get that they're harder to differentiate than cars but there still could be a wider array

Scorpion's and Jackie's bikes are the only vehicles I drive in this game. I suck at driving in games anyway (especially on a mouse and keyboard), so I need a bike to keep from crashing into everything and everyone.
I also just can't bring myself to use any other vehicles. It's like spending time with an old friend
Jackie’s bike can be modified if you have high tech skill at the start of game. He changes the exhaust and makes it go 160 if I recall

The preferred way to travel around NC for my no nonsense, bloodthirsty fem V was using motorcycles, at first I used Jackie's bike
But in the end I used the Kusanagi a lot more
I don't know why but it just feels amazing to travel in that thing
The color red also helped with the red theme of my V
Weapons that deals fire damage and bloody red drip
My second favorite vehicle for that run was the Little box red car xD
Because my V maybe a crazy killer but she have a sense of humor
Did you know that you can actually win some of the street races with that thing xD
Important at least that the Apollos have stash access, so if you want your stash in... difficult places, it's certainly an option.

Bikes are the only ride I can use in 1st person in this game. The cars' view outside is so restricted, have to toggle an outside view. But oh boy is it exhilarating to zip through traffic on Jackie's bike, narrowly avoiding cars and pedestrians at high speed
I managed to get the Itsumade during "The Pickup" by just hacking the keypad with Remote Activate
Does the handcannon jump technique damage the bikes with the explosions at all? I noticed you losing health so I'm wondering how viable using that trick regularly would really be? Also, any idea what button you use to toggle the neon lights when using a controller? I play on PS5 so I don't have a V key 😅 Great video Sam!

Cars certainly provide more protection and are better in a fight, but when you wanna get somewhere nothing can weave through traffic like a bike
Agreed! That's partly why I placed them all in high tiers. Also, being able to leap across barriers and up to higher roads with a little luck/skill is a huge game changer!

I have hundreds of hours into this game, and I still didn't know about the itsumade , its the hidden deep story things like this that makes this game special, btw, I chose the combative option, causing James to attack and I instantly zerod him, just like Nash and a few others found out, the penalty for betraying an aldecaldo is death

I wonder if the Kusanagi is also an homage to Ghost In The Shell's protagonist Motoko Kusanagi...
V died, and came back to life. Can acquire a dead man's clothes, gun, and Porsche (Johnny). Inherits their dead best friend's motorcycle and gun (Jackie). Every time I roll through Night City wearing some of Johnny's threads, strapped with Jackie's gun, on Jackie's Arch, The Cure's song Burn from the The Crow soundtrack plays in my head.
Fun fact: not only the Arch Motorbike is Keanu Reeves' real life motorcycle brand, but Keanu Reeves himself is canon in the Cyberpunk universe. This Keanu Reeves never got any far as an actor as he did in our real life universe, he is a B-list actor if memory serves me right, and when people brought up his likeness to him, Johnny gets pissed off. And after his Arasaka stunt people went up to the in-universe Keanu and brought up his likeness to Johnny, and often mistaking him for Johnny himself.
