It's so bizarre that buying coffees every morning is something normal overseas, here in Brazil it's like a fancy thing or a "my shift starts too early so i have my coffee from a random little bar next to the bus stop". The norm is to make your coffee in your house.

Coffee machines usually „brew“ the water up to 70 degrees which doesn’t give the coffee a very rich taste.

In Britain we tend to use the 'British Isles' to describe the UK instead of the word archipelago. For any other country we'd tend to just say islands. Archipelago is more of a technical term :)

Joey, you should try putting in the comments “เผ็ดน้อยรดจัด” when you order next time. It means “less spicy but intense flavor”. My boyfriend doesn’t eat spicy much and this is how we order Thai food for him without sacrificing flavor. Especially works for papaya salad.

I once went snorkeling in Hawaii as part of a school trip (a special Marching Band trip by our band director) and while I was just admiring the reef, the water carried me past the "safe" area of the cove we were in. They had buoys to show the "edge" of the safe area, but I was submerged because I was looking at the reef and the fish. When I finally looked up, I saw I was past the buoys, and just thought, "Shit, I need to get back to shore *now* "
I'm a very good casual swimmer, I just took to it really well during my swimming lessons when I was a kid. My worry was the waters, since the cove owners (I think that's who they were) told us that the waves and the water past the buoys were really turbulent and could easily develop riptides (what I remember of a riptide was that it was like a sideways tornado that spun down, and it would feel like someone was pulling your leg down; this could easily cause people to drown if they got caught in the spin). So I just went full-speed back towards shore, trying to keep myself on a straight path as possible. I vividly remember starting to get tired before reaching the buoys, but I knew if I stopped I would probably die. So I kept swimming, focusing only on the beach. I got back within the boundary of the buoys, but I just kept full-on swimming until I was back on shore, and fortunately by that time everyone in the band was leaving. No one noticed I was gone. I was thankful that I made it back alive because no one would've known until it was probably too late.
Interestingly, right after we left the cove, an adult couple died at that same cove from getting caught in a riptide. The woman got caught first, then the man got caught in it trying to get her out of it and they both drowned. I felt *very* lucky after that.
They should have a Trash Taste compilation of Connor having the worst day possible in all his stories.

I enjoyed the talk about learning healthy habits at a young age, such as learning to drink water over soda. Growing up in the southern US, there would always be bread with dinner. This is a pretty common thing in southern cuisine. When my dad started dieting a few years ago, we had to teach ourselves that if we wanted something on the side with dinner, it would have to be fruit or some kind of raw veggies. Having to break the habit of having bread with dinner was so hard, but it was so worth it.

The thing you said about fish n' chips "you have to get them drunk" is the exact same as Poutine in Quebec. People complain it looks like a midnight drunk/stoned meal. It is. it's absolutely a midnight meal. it can be enjoyed at other times, but it feels best in the middle of the night, even better if the fries are soggy.

I had physical therapy once for a dislocated shoulder. The therapist used the ultrasonic wand thing and gel on my damaged shoulder. She said it was supposed to break up the blood clots and internal damage in the muscles and tendons so that it would heal better and faster. Since the vibrations are too small to feel but they send very small vibrations through the flesh.
On a side note, I use an ultrasonic bath to clean corrosion off of electronic components. I know that ultrasonic waves can break down impurities when used like that. Look up Louis Rossman's UA-cam channel. He uses the ultrasonic cleaner for macbook water damage all the time.

When they were talking about eating less, I was eating a slice of “marshmellow chocolate chip cookie dough cake slice” (from Kroger) after being sick of dieting for a while. I think the universe intervened to help me not eat the whole ginormous piece.

I loved the part where you guys started talking about exercise, diet and self motivation, because that's something I've been going through for the past 3 months, as I weighed my worst ever at 150 kgs, which at my height of 1.85 m and at 33 years of age is pretty bad, but I feel I still had a turning point. I decided that this was the year I was going to finally do it, and I've never been so strict with diet and exercise in my life before, which is already showing some results as I was able to lose 14 kgs and over 13% body fat, and I feel really identified with this segment, because even though it's been 3 months, and for the last month and a half I've been exercising every single day, there are many days where I just wanted to stay in bed and not exercise or eat something that I know is really bad for me, but I push myself to eat healthy and go to the gym because I really want to lose weight. To anyone struggling with this, I've struggled with obesity for almost 9 years since I had a really bad injury to my knee, but there's always a way, all we need is to find the motivation to push through, like a goal in life (for example I've always wanted to do bungee jumping, but I've always been afraid to do it because of my weight), a loved one like spouse or kids, or just having a better quality of life.
Joey : “I used to have two or three cups of coffee a day.”
Connor : “I have like four or five”
Me *has flashbacks to the four years of American college* : “so you would think 12 shots of espresso + multiple cups of brew coffee per day, too much?”
I think at that point your body would grow some resistance to caffeine.
My first year of college I would drink 2 of the largest size of monster everyday 😂
@@taylorkichu4683 I knew a guy who for a whole week didn't sleep. He thrived on any energy drink he found and coffee. Anytime I saw him he had a new drink and some more in his pack.
