I'm 19 and I have those exact experieces about those movies. Wild. I definitely think that the older a childrens show is, the better it usually is. Like I saw what my cousins (7-12 yr) were watching a while back and I couldn't believe how shit the stories were, or rather, they completely lacked a story. I consider myself lucky that my parents chose to show me shows on VHS cassettes, instead of tv.
01:40:00 This discussion here hits home for anyone who goes into any form of STEM or formalized education. It's so easy to simply fall into the idea of "this is the answer" or "that way won't work." We teach ourselves how to find the one solution, because that solution works. New ideas are risky and have pitfalls. Maybe too much money or time. Connor absolutely got to the core of why I found myself having issues with engineering and I'm glad you all talked about such a complicated issue in your own unique view.
Office Chair > "gaming chairs". Don't let people lie to you about those. "Gaming chairs" are made to look "cool", but they are not good for being practical or usable. Office Chairs are made to make you stay sit on it for over 6 hours and so they don't break your back so you can't suit the company. Ergonomic office chairs are the best route if you want a good chair that protect your back and allow you to be sitting for pretty long hours of work, gaming or entertainment . To be honest. Anything label as "Gaming" is 90% a straight up an scam. Gaming chairs are made to be sitting on those for like 45 minutes and look cool while streaming, but beyond that. They are utter garbage wasted of resources to make those torture chairs
Small exception being gaming headsets. I personally worked my ass off trying to find a professional looking headset that had a solid microphone, was kinda comfortable, and could actually fit my freaking glasses! Gaming headsets were the only ones that met that criteria without breaking the bank. I'm just glad the final set I found came in black. The runner up had fucking red lights and that boxy gamer look. I thought I'd die of embarrassment if my 40+ year old bosses had a video chat with me. Otherwise, you're pretty spot on
I had a dream the other night that you all had dyed your hair blonde for some reason. Joey had his hair much longer like what it used to be except it was now blonde, Connor’s entire head was blonde, and Garnt had blonde streaks in his hair. That’s it. I’ll just leave it at that.
The Bois about anger: 30:52 I think that depends on who hits first and for what. 32:09 Sounds like pent-up anger. Anger can be silent too, either because you're bottling it up or because you express anger in ways that aren't vocal. 33:04 That reminds me of that Dr. K episode with Garnt. He thought he couldn't get angry, but it was more like he couldn't recognize anger. Garnt's generally chill, but he does have limits. Anger's understandably seen with just a negative sense, but sometimes, it drives people to stand up for themselves and other people and can be powerful depending on how you wield it.
this one was really good. i loved hearing about their university experiences. i went to college at the same time as them and its fun to see the differences in experiences.
Connor's comment on creativity hits so true to me. During middle to high school, I only focused on academics and never really explored other avenues like arts and sports just cos I was labelled a smart kid and wanted to stay at a comfortable space. When it was time to choose a degree of uni, I just chose Pharmacy because my alevel grades met the criteria. I was so checked out of pharmacy and I barely got my degree in the end. Looking back, I shouldve explore that creative side of me cos any choice I made regarding a career would be based out of interest or at the very least I would have a hobby to deal with the stresses of uni. Now, Im doing photography and starting drawing as hobby and man, its so good to create something, regardless of how shit it is.
I’ve been taking an art class this year and I’m enjoying it a lot because it’s sort of freeing to create whatever you’d like. I created some valuable drawings of the people around me just because I felt like drawing them. It’s just fun to do whatever you like and not stick by the book. If you can, maybe you could join an art club or something just to try it maybe, idk.
And then if you took art, even if you had gotten in, you need to learn rules and principles and then might end up not being successful in life because you have a f**king art degree. Art in university isn't just drawing shit.
Connor talking about his tongue naturally rests toward the roof of his mouth, and then Joey realizing he was right broke me...because yeah, feeling it out my tongue doesn't rest completely flat. I wouldn't say it's at the roof of my mouth, but I agree with Joey saying that it's toward the upper gum.
When Joey mentioned about the most embarrassing stuff he has posted was the stuff from his earlier UA-cam days, I instantly remembered the one video about the cringiest anime pick up lines
48:58 I have many of those types of memories that Connor is describing. I was cripplingly addicted to Cartoon Network as a kid and there’s so many episodes of shows that I have permanently etched in my mind.
Creativity for creativity's sake... I needed to hear something about that as I've long had issues with creating without it producing anything other than internal fulfillment. The pressure of needing finances and finding purpose in life has taken a lot of joy away from creating whereas I used to create often for the sake of it (as well as to keep myself alive for a while). I still often feel the need to create but rarely do anything with it but feel annoyed. I'm glad to have heard this as creating for creativity's sake is important.
So glad I found this podcast. You guys have helped me through a lot recently. Simply put, thank you guys. Also, Connor please do another RV Trip soon cause I miss that shit!
Connor Stanning the NA beers is commendable. I enjoy drinking and the taste of beer as well. Having a NA beer hits that craving without the alcohol damage. Its a healthy way to curb ones alcoholism. Great to see people exposed to different ideas about the consumption of "alcoholic" beverages! Thanks Connor!
Isn't every kind of alcohol disgusting until you find a version that's not so bad and then slowly you begin to appreciate other stuff aswell, just like with starting to drink coffe
this actually scares me because I was thinking about Angela Anaconda literally yesterday because of an artist and I hadn't thought about that show in YEARS. I started thinking about it again when the topic of childhood shows came up and when Joey said it my heart stopped lmao, it's really obscure and when I try to speak to anyone about it they don't know what I'm talking about
As a Canadian we lived and breathed that show. It's weird but a lot of those 90s and early 2000s shows were Canadian made so that's what we grew up with
LOL Connor if it was actually Chimay Bleue that you had as a "Belgian highest grade beer", it would be hilarious since that was literally my everyday beer here in Belgium when I was studying.
yeah it's a pretty popular beer you can get everywhere in Europe. It's pretty good though. Westvleteren is more rare and better IMO. Also most good Belgian beers come in small bottles.
I stopped for a while watching trash taste dedicated and came back after a month. The quality has not gone down at all!! These professional trash talkers are always S tier!!! And their still weekly. I got catching up
I understand why Joey gets upset at people wearing band shirts without knowing the band, but lots of the time the person doesn't know what they don't know. Sometimes you get a cool shirt and there's no words on it to even look up what it is, you just like the design. So Joey's interaction could have been a teaching moment and potentially introduce cool music to them.
Yeah, to say like something like 'Oh! They're this really cool grunge band listen to this and this song, and if you like it, the whole album is great!' Or even offer to listen to it together sometime, would be such a cool bonding experience!
I had that happen with anime. There was a girl that was wearing junji ito's tomie, the famous one with the split face. And I commented to her "oh nice shirt! I've been meaning to get into junji ito at some point" and she said "I don't know what that is. I just thought it looked cool"
My sister gave me a Metallica hoodie before she moved to Australia. I never listened to them, but wore it just cause it was one of the only things that she left me.
I finished school in 2001 and moved away. I found out in my early 30s that my year had been having a mini reunion every year at Christmas becuase most people, whether they moved away or not, would be home for Christmas. It was just that they'd gather in a nearby pub that was large enough to accommodate the group size. It was weird, but cool to see old friends, and instantly we got to talking like not much time had passed. It was fun and I went back a few more years.
I look forward to every Friday so much more thanks to Trash Taste and it’s helped me through some really rough weeks. I haven’t missed a single episode of Trash Taste and After Dark in almost 3 years. I love TT sm ❤❤❤

Hearing the boys talking about engineers and how they are great at solving problems, as someone who works in HVAC - the amount of time I had to go upstairs and shove a piece of material down an engineer's throat because their design completely devoid logic, is unimaginable.
Purchase worth every penny is my 2008 Smat Fortwo (among the first 100 in the US). It cost about $20K and is still going strong. I can park almost anywhere, talk myself into "full" parking garages and it can go up to 90 mph on the highway. We added a roof rack to increase what it can carry (admittedly, fully loaded it doesn't go past 80). It also handles like a tiny car should. The MPG is around 30. I LOVE this car so much. I haven't taken the subway in years.
1:51:23 My physical chemistry professor did that to us. Not the exact order but he was like "ok study these questions from the book and you will do well on the exam" the exam was just a few questions picked out from the ones he gave us to study. The students that just wanted to pass were happy, but the ones who wanted to learn got pretty mad.
I turned 20 in January and I used to watch The Land Before Time, and Wallace and Grommet as a kid on VHS at my grandmother's house. I loved these shows so much as a kid and most of my media I consumed as a kid were from CDs, DVDs, Cassette, and VHS since we didnt have internet where I lived in the country until about 3 years ago. It's so strange how people my age don't know about these, as I was raised very similarly to kids in the 90's, when I was born in 2004. I love how they're starting to get popular online because I can talk about my childhood as no one my age grew up with them.
I connect to Garnt on a spiritual level about the uni classes, they taught me nothing there, all I did was study 1 or 2 days before exams looking up lectures on youtube and scored mostly 80-90%, but then again I was making apps as a hobby and liked math so maybe not the best example
Idk why but this might be one of my favorite episodes. I love when they talk about their past in highschool/uni. The engineering talk was also very cool

The jingle bells batman smells song far predates the Simpsons, and is an interesting form of meme. For the most part the song is taught to children from other children who learned it from other children rather than any shared single source which is one of the reasons so many variations exist.
As someone who is non-alcoholic and from country that prohibited alcohol consumption. This conversation they're having is alien to me and I am enjoying it thoroughly
Can't believe Connor watched the Henry Darger video. How I learned of him is ridiculous, I learned his name from a single line watching Venture Bros. Then I looked him in wikipedia, then I learned he stayed single his entire life since he was adopted and knew he had a sister and was terrified that if her ever were to be with a woman it would end up being his sister.
I hope when he said he said "to go cup" he meant like a Stanley or something and not a bunch of disposable cups. Also Conner discovering how coffee worked before Starbucks.😂
The making an impact in the world part was great, loved when Joey talked about his kid doing web design and quantum physics. As a kid I wanted to be either an engineer, web developer, or quantum physicist. Now I paint patio doors, and I love my job. It was my destiny.
For the band shirt. A lot of women would get the "oh you like blank, name a song". it got annoying so a lot of women also decided the best response was pretend they don't know the band because it pisses off the gate keepers that annoy them. Not sure if that's what happened but it was 100% a thing, and if the conversation went the way indicated, it may have triggered that response. It's not like Nirvana is some massively underground band after all.
You nailed your concerns regarding engineering education so well. So many current students don't realize this and are just going with the flow with their brains already drained out by the shitty education system that we have. I wish we had the time to get to this mental clarity and become better people now when we're currently students and not years later down the line coz now's the best time and environment (unironically) to become great engineers
Talk about core memories, I remember looking at the Animeman blog as a teen trying to find decent anime to watch when I ran out! I specifically remember being like "Well he's got a KHR banner, so he's gotta have pretty good taste"; seeing it again was what unlocked the memory. I think I even read the SAO review to see if it was worth the hype? He made it sound pretty interesting, but I never did get around to watching it, which was probably for the best in retrospect. So weird to find out it was Joey all along! (I absolutely haaaaated Angela Anaconda as a kid though, so I guess I was wrong about his taste!)
Man, hearing the boys talk about owning VHS of Land Before Time and Wallace and Gromit brought back some core memeories from childhood, those were the glory days
I'm a girl and I usually prefer to share experiences than recount what's been happening in my life. I felt the need to share this because as a female viewer, more often than not when you guys talk about guys vs girls on something it feels completely off for me and I'm usually in the "guy side". Tbh I think it might be good if you guys stopped trying to break stuff into most women do blank and most men do blank bc I feel like we've moved past this as a society.

Lol I know exactly what Garnt is talking to regarding studying, in case anyone thinks he's just boasting there. The secret sauce is in the format, knowing how to write an essay is just as important as what's in it. Having a good grasp of the basics and knowing what they're looking for in terms of layout, drawing a conclusion, citations etc. is crucial. Managed to get a first in my degree and my Master's in English Literature whilst reading none of the required books, just looked shit up the day before and blagged my way through it.
1:33:00 Garnt (and all 3 of the of course) have def made an impact on me. There was one video where Garnt was asked to give advice and he said something like “don’t be afraid of the mistakes you’re going to make bc they’ll ultimately help you get better grow.” That shit has helped me tremendously. I’m always posting content on my other social media now and doing what I’ve always wanted to do. Wasn’t doing it before bc I was afraid of being cringe and all that stuff but that quote really helped me get over that fear and just accept that if I am cringe either A) that’s okay or B) I can learn from the cringe and not be. Also, there’s always something that some people find cringe and others don’t so there’s no point in being scared of that anyways. Tl;dr Garnt said a quote that made an impact on me in life and it makes me happy 🥰
The part towards the end where they're talking about what it means to leave an impression or make a contribution... when Gigguk talks about making someone feel something or laugh even for just 5 seconds... that's what's keeping this platform alive. when you drink an expensive whisky you let your tongue get drunk first, which it usually does. Just take a shot or a sip and let roll it around in your mouth before drinking it down. Really let the burn settle in, then in the next drinks or sips you will be able to discern the flavors. The flavors really just serve as an accompaniment to your buzz, the subtleties and complexities are allowed to influence your mood. The alcohol or "spirit" opens you up to possession by the mood the drink holds within it's essence. Every drink has own's its own mood or "spirit" that you become susceptible to the more you drink it and get more buzzed. For some people these moods have a bad effect like those that get angry or depressed from drinking whiskey. While for others the moods are pleasant, the "spirit" itself becomes a good old friend that shares the moment with you.

The talk of core memories made me remember a core memory I recently unlocked. I watched an episode of One Piece Water 7, this would have been around 2003-2008 range so I have no idea how I watched it. I was definitely not at my house and there's no one else I could ever ask about it. It also wasn't online because it was on a big CRT in a living room so definitely a VHS or something. The core memory itself revolved around CP9 revealing themselves to Robin for the first time, where they just say "CP9" and get her to go with them. The combination of a creepy scene THEN human Chopper coming onto screen with him wondering where Robin was was jolting enough to lock that scene into my brain. Good stuff

To be honest. Anything label as "Gaming" is 90% a straight up an scam. Gaming chairs are made to be sitting on those for like 45 minutes and look cool while streaming, but beyond that. They are utter garbage wasted of resources to make those torture chairs
What is “suit the company”?
@@ryana5435he meant sue
and quite cheaper too.
Edit: The office chairs I mean, most gaming chairs are ludicrously expensive.
Otherwise, you're pretty spot on
I bought a gaming chair and it's goated . My back never gets sore even after gaming for a long time
I had a dream the other night that you all had dyed your hair blonde for some reason. Joey had his hair much longer like what it used to be except it was now blonde, Connor’s entire head was blonde, and Garnt had blonde streaks in his hair.
That’s it. I’ll just leave it at that.
Thats some core memory shit right there
Trash Taste DB special anyone?😮😮
Ayo what
Joey used to have long hair with blonde tips/streaks. Maybe that's what triggered it? 🤔
Taking parasocial relationships to the next level by dreaming about them.
The Bois about anger:
30:52 I think that depends on who hits first and for what.
How is it posible that I am over 15 years younger than you guys and I still watched all the shows you were talking about in my childhood. Such bangers
If you are over 15 years younger you are 15? 😮
Me too even out here in Western mainland Europe!
lit same
As much as I love hearing the boys chat, I absolutely love whenever we get to listen to Connor tell us about his voice acting experiences
this one was really good. i loved hearing about their university experiences. i went to college at the same time as them and its fun to see the differences in experiences.
That end with connor just screaming "I CAME" is TOO GOOD for people not to talk about it XD
Connor mentioned American Dragon. Nostalgia hit.
The more I listen to this podcast, the more I realized Joey really like Sword Art online, he is just such a tsundere about it.
I'm a 27 yr old from the north west UK, 100% land before time VHS films were goated watched them repeatedly as a child
15:38 At the top of the mouth is actually the natural position for the tounge to rest which is also the main thing mewing is about!
I feel the same way. I hope we can both find our answers to this predicament.
I remember originally reading Joeys Review on SAO and its what initially got me into the show
Isn't every kind of alcohol disgusting until you find a version that's not so bad and then slowly you begin to appreciate other stuff aswell, just like with starting to drink coffe
this actually scares me because I was thinking about Angela Anaconda literally yesterday because of an artist and I hadn't thought about that show in YEARS. I started thinking about it again when the topic of childhood shows came up and when Joey said it my heart stopped lmao, it's really obscure and when I try to speak to anyone about it they don't know what I'm talking about
I often have the theme song of this show stuck in my head for some unknown reason.
I only know it from the Digimon Movie
As a Canadian we lived and breathed that show. It's weird but a lot of those 90s and early 2000s shows were Canadian made so that's what we grew up with
God damn ninipoo
As an engineering student who hates engineering but doing digital art for a possible career,
Hearing this encourages me so much
I love how they talk about cartoons i grew up with and enjoyed, and then collectively say "we are old". Please don't remind me
should have known better than to take a sip of water at the beginning of a Joey-hosted episode
@@darientheghoul8869wow someone wore a shirt because they like how it looked. How horrible
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme calm down with the sarcasm. She was a nice girl and we still had a nice talk when I mentioned who junji ito was
I know their doctors probably don't like their drinking episodes, but they're always entertaining for us.
Connor going in and trying to help his brother out even if it didn’t do anything. Shows that he is a good brother
So Joey one of those "You like that band, name 3 songs" type of dudes
Of course he is
I finished school in 2001 and moved away.
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard when the bois were looking at Joey's review. That was pure gold
36:09 Joey and Conner cannot stand the second-hand embarrassment
Hearing that my face scrunched up so hard it’s so bad lmaooo
@@geeguy7429 yeah unless you are Sydney type of person, it’s normal to feel very cringe. I burst out laughing after watching Joey and Conner’s reaction
Hearing the boys talking about engineers and how they are great at solving problems, as someone who works in HVAC - the amount of time I had to go upstairs and shove a piece of material down an engineer's throat because their design completely devoid logic, is unimaginable.
Belgium beer SMACKS and ranges from 8-14% ABV, but in Europe it’s just €2 to €3.

My physical chemistry professor did that to us.
20:16 Connor THOUSAND YARD stare lost in the sauce is priceless
I connect to Garnt on a spiritual level about the uni classes, they taught me nothing there, all I did was study 1 or 2 days before exams looking up lectures on youtube and scored mostly 80-90%, but then again I was making apps as a hobby and liked math so maybe not the best example
Watching this as someone in my early 30s was amazing. The core memory section.
Idk why but this might be one of my favorite episodes. I love when they talk about their past in highschool/uni. The engineering talk was also very cool
"land before time" in belgium was called "flatfoot and his friends"
😂 that's awesome 👌
1:33:48 All of you boys made an impact on me for this. You’ve made me laugh, made me think, made me get ambitions to go on wacky adventures with my friends, made me actually go on wacky adventures. You guys have left a big impact on me and I’m sure many others.
How is the chemistry different even before they start drinking.
That's the true british/aussie character there when they know they gonna be drinking
Can't believe Connor watched the Henry Darger video. How I learned of him is ridiculous, I learned his name from a single line watching Venture Bros. Then I looked him in wikipedia, then I learned he stayed single his entire life since he was adopted and knew he had a sister and was terrified that if her ever were to be with a woman it would end up being his sister.
really like Conner's look at 56:37 when Garnt talks about Emo Girls
sometimes i forget that these boys are actually intelligent beings and not just some bros watching anime and gaming all day.
The petty thing Joey is doing is not watching arcane despite being told repeatedly to watch it
joey's sword art online review is the funniest thing i watched this week
I hope when he said he said "to go cup" he meant like a Stanley or something and not a bunch of disposable cups. Also Conner discovering how coffee worked before Starbucks.😂
Why not? Better than supporting STANLEY CUPS. Really? Stanley cups? Lol
Sounds like a cope more than anything.
Big fucking cope.
I’m a 24 year old American and I also watched Land Before Time all the time as a kid. Not nearly as much as I watched Shrek tho 😂
(I absolutely haaaaated Angela Anaconda as a kid though, so I guess I was wrong about his taste!)
hey connor sc2 is the hardest game ever and you could not even reach master3 :D go give it your all
Man, hearing the boys talk about owning VHS of Land Before Time and Wallace and Gromit brought back some core memeories from childhood, those were the glory days
As a woman that is also like this, I second it!
Garnt trying to remember Philmore got me 😂😂 I loved that show.
The pralineeeeee
In a couple of hours I'll finally be graduating as an aerospace engineer , funnily enough they spoke about graduation + just engineering in general, crazy how a random TT video that i had decided to skip on release showed up on my screen. Gonna type this to look back on hopefully in the future. Ig GGWP to me or whoever finds this.
The editors and workers of this podcast deserve a raise for how consistent their quality is
This episode feels illegal to watch for free. Three buddies hanging out and drinking together and enjoying the time. They are soo precious. These brothers are intelligent monetizing this since not many of us can experience this. Thank you Trash Taste.
Social dystopia, bleak times we're in.
It's interesting Connor saying Fredrik Knudsen's voice being soothing and good for falling to sleep to, he's actually said on stream that tone is pretty much what he aims for. Fred really does find some fascinating topics to dive into.
Man, I grew up with Land Before Time. I remember Sharptooth, Littlefoot, Ducky, Spike. I used to have plastic toys of them as a kid. I forgot it existed until this episode!
Also, these podcasts give me life while I drive, much appreciated.
These chill hangout, drunk episodes are always the best.
The part towards the end where they're talking about what it means to leave an impression or make a contribution... when Gigguk talks about making someone feel something or laugh even for just 5 seconds... that's what's keeping this platform alive. In between all the algorithms and garbage on YT... this is what it should be about. Making content that connects with the viewers and makes us laugh or smile. Good shit!!!!!
The minmax effort to results in university is what I'm trying to figure out rn as a first year. It was really nice to hear that experience from you guys
*talks about core memories for 10 minutes* Garnt: Do you boys by any chance have core memories?
34:47 A homeless man got a cigarette from me and when he said "Have a safe trip home" my dumbass brain went "you too"...
when you drink an expensive whisky you let your tongue get drunk first, which it usually does.
Its so reassuring to know that I'm not the only one who defaults to "Yeah fine" and absolutely blanking when my parents ask me how my day was!! Been like that in school, still the same today
I stopped watching ever since the america arc started but ive recently watching again, it feels nostalgic watching again. Glad Trashtaste is till going strong
49:11 THIS!!!! 100%. I do this all the goddamn time. It will just unlock specific feelings or memories put of nowhere. I'll also catch myself thinking about certain sequences, lines, etc. and have NO IDEA where it is coming from. I love it though.
Code Lyoko is a show I was obsessed about and just remembered it recently along with code name kids next door
Good stuff
