    Your art is beautiful!
    I was tempted to purchase the Woody crayons but then I watched Lindsay's video where she showed how little lead is in the wood. She sharpened the crayon from the other side to see where the lead starts. It was more than disappointing!

      Hi, thank you for commenting. I watched Lindsay's video as well, and I have to say that that video made me very sad. In fact I did this video right after watching hers, in an attempt to show people that no, Stabilos aren't that bad. In fact, it's one of my favorite art supplies.

      @@gabriellaritaart she definitely gave a good view n the value and “buyer beware”. I always appreciate her honesty. And I’m also in awe of how you use them! Your art is really lovely and shows their versatility.

      I don't understand why people are sad about this. If the lead ran all the way to the end there would be ~2 inches of lead that would be completely unusable because there's not enough crayon to hold on to.

      @@gabriellaritaart I think many reviewers base their opinions on using the reviewed supplies just like they would their favorite supplies, instead of really adjusting to the purpose of the supplies they are using. For instance, I've seen some say about certain papers, "this doesn't work as well as my Arches, so it's bad!" The reality is that the lesser quality paper has great uses, such as with water soluble crayons, gouache, and watercolor sketching, things that might be almost wasteful to do on Arches.
      I also think some positive reviews are based on how much the reviewer likes the manufacturer or supplier, rather than the supply. Paul Rubens watercolors are raved about on You Tube! -- So I bought their metallic set and don't like it as well as cheap Hobby Lobby metallic watercolors I have, and certainly nowhere near Finetec which isn't much more expensive. Because of my experience, I won't get their regular watercolors, even though I've seen some good deals -- in fact I have seen a few Amazon reviews that said they were shocked at how disappointed they were, since they bought the supply based on You Tube reviews.
      Anyway, these pencils fits your art style well, and so they're perfect for you and likely great for many artists. I think you're basing your opinion on the supply and how it works best for you, and not the manufacturer or supplier relationship, so I trust what you're saying. It is disappointing that the pigment rods on these crayons are short, but I'd like to see a similar test done on Derwent Lightfast or Caran d'Ache Luminance, both of which close off the pencil tops. I'd bet they'd be disappointing, honestly.
      Thanks for the great review and for the amazing art.

    I just this morning got a package of Stabilo Woody 3-in-1s in my mail. I was thinking they would be an easy medium to carry for outdoor sketching. I did have an initial thought of sending these back, but then watched your video. Looks like they'll take a bit of experimenting and out-of-the-box thinking so I think I'll keep and try them. Thank you for sharing - I'm going to watch more videos - get more ideas and then take them out for a test run!

      They are definitely worth it, that's my personal opinion. I know there are other artists here on UA-cam who don't like them. They are a very easy and versatile medium.

    Love your work, and you made me give my woodies, and Lamy 3plus a second chance with great unexpected results! So a big thank you. What I do to seal my drawings in oil pastel or woodies or any crayon is use a heat gun, the wax disappears and gets absorbed in the paper and it is not sticky, and stays put. You just have to be careful not to use too much heat, because it can change the colors

    If you use walnut oil you can use oil pastels similar to watercolours also.

    Hello I’m a little late to your channel, but you have created a lot of beautiful art, even with woodies which other videos have dismissed as a kids art supply. You inspired me to get some and have a go at them. However, i have not been able to find a storage container for them and the cardboard box they come in does not seem very durable. Can you please share a link or other info about where you bought the tin you have yours stored in?

    • @gabriellaritaart
      @gabriellaritaart  Рік тому

      I bought it in a random stationary store in Hungary 4 years ago. I have no idea. But you can easily find similar boxes online.

    You make them look so good. Do you have to use their own sharpener to sharpen them?

    • @gabriellaritaart
      @gabriellaritaart  Рік тому

      Yes, they are too large for a regular sharpener, so you need to use the sharpener that comes with the set

    Have you used the neocolor 2? They're very similar.

    • @gabriellaritaart
      @gabriellaritaart  2 роки тому

      Yes, I have Neocolors 2s. There's pros and cons, like with everything. Neocolors show up nicer on black paper, but Stabilos are much creamier. It's up to personal taste. I'm not a huge fan of Neocolors.

      @@gabriellaritaart Ah ok, I would like to try the woody once the price goes down. They're very overpriced for "children's" supplies.

    • @gabriellaritaart
      @gabriellaritaart  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah tend to be expensive, which is a downside. But you can get them open stock just to try out. You certainly don't need all the colours.

      Unless... like most of us... we have full set syndrome and NEED to buy full sets 😂😂😂 But for the 18 set, they’re $118 NZD/$72 Euro/USD ... or $7.80 NZD/$4.75 Euro/USD for open stock single pencils........which is the same price as what they charge for a Luminance pencil....ouch.....that’s super expensive for a “kids” product! (I already have the 40 x Neo2s... but I always WANT cute new products so I’m lusting hard on these which is why I keep watching the videos, haha.... tho Lindsay the Frugal Crafter sharpened the other end of one of her Woodys and showed how little product was in there, 1/3rd the Woody Pencil is just wood!)
      **edit** I’ve said it before.... but dang, you can draw! 🤘😍🤘
