I’m all for growing meat in the lab. Human treatment of animals is very poor, at least from what I have found. Why don’t they address the population issue as well?
The problem with the lab grown Algae or any plant is, that yes it takes in CO2 when in the day time as all other plants do and yes gives out Oxygen doing so! But when it is night time and the light is gone all plants including Algae will take in Oxygen and give out CO2, That's why in Hospital Wards the staff will remove all the plants and flowers from the wards at night as they would be taking your oxygen away and replacing it with CO2. And Hydroponic plants can only be given simulated sunlight for a maxim of 18 hours then the must have darkness to rest. So that boasting that oh we can just take all the CO2 away is rubbish, they would still have the same limits on plants as every other system? That's why we still not been able to do a natural CO2 remover based on any of the plants yet. Bad miss information here and most people would not know what is said is crap. As for la grown meat it be too expensive to do no matter what they state and a waste of tech and money as most people would never wish to have any.
Disagree. Obviously there is a net sequester of carbon by growing plants...that's literally what the plant is made out of in combination with water its what made all the carbon and petroleum we get from the ground, though obviously not on a human useful time scale. Re: meat the pressing problem about to hit the world...is the rest of the world getting a taste for meat as has happened in every country that has developed industrially. I don't know lab grown meat is the solution but something is gonna have to give when 8, 9, 10 billion folks start wanting to throw a barbecue.

~80% of all grain grown in the US goes for livestock feed.
Isn’t that because it’s not much good for anything else?

Replacing biodiverse permanent pasture with a monoculture of annual barley. I think not.
@@12xenn45 I'd rather preserve biodiverse pasture by eating meat. Try eating some meat.
An interesting episode for a change.
Please fire the music guy. The music is just too loud and actually unnecessary. I'm here for content, not music.
