So true! I grew up in Kansas, lived in Illinois for awhile and now in Florida. Every state I have lived in and visited is great in different ways. Hope to make it to all 50 states and more countries as well as have been to several in Europe but wasn't to travel to many other places.
I think all of our states have something to offer. It's like 50 siblings living in 1 household. We're brothers and sisters - each with our own individual styles, likes and dislikes, and sibling rivalries. Nevertheless, we're family and I love our uniqueness. 🇺🇲 P.S. Rock on, Michigan 🤘🏻
Yeah, I think he just kind of chucked Michigan in there somewhere. Surprised Lansing was worth mentioning, Flint kinda sucks (thank GM), although they did produce Terry Crews. Detroit has a few bad areas but there are also some great ones and it's improving. You can't take motown, hip-hop or rock and roll away from the Detroit. I mean, Kiss, "Detroit Rock City". On the plus side, Michigan has tons of lakes Including the Great Lakes. We have the longest freshwater coastline and the 2nd longest coastline period. Michigan is the only state with 2 peninsula's. If you haven't been to the upper one, you must, it is an outdoorsmans paradise. The 2 peninsulas are connected by what once was the longest suspension bridge in the world, The "Mighty Mac". It is still the longest in the northern hemisphere. Michigan has islands! including the beautiful and historic Mackinac. We have Incredible fudge, maple syrup, cherries, apples cider and cider donuts, Pasties, Coney dogs, Detroit style pizza and our own soda flavors... ever had "Rock and Rye" N-Zeders? We are 5th in the country for the number of breweries, microbreweries and brew pubs (Where you can watch the undefeated wolverines), earning us the nick name "The Great Beer State", drop the mic. @@dannyp9537 yeah, but we have way more bad cities than just those, and detroit is only getting better where they are flooding college kids in like midtown, southwest, the east side, the west side, still all bad, and even midtown still get crazy sometimes, but if we seperate that from the state, michigan is top 5 imo (if it wasnt for this damn 6 month winter we got it would be a easy number 1)

I live in Alabama, grew up in Mississippi and my whole family is from Tennessee. The South is a beautiful, friendly place. Just like all the others they all have problems but when I walk outside at night and it looks like we are drapped in stars and it's so quiet, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else
I've lived in Alabama too and been in Mississippi. It sucks. Its very pretty, but racial tensions are very high and not spoken about. There is also still INTENSE gerrymandering and redlining. Tennessee is by far the best out of those three.

@@A-ID-A-M Racial tensions are high? You do realize the South has way more "minority" races than the north with the highest % of the black population than any of the other regions. Racial tensions are not as high as the media wants to make out other than the fact the black population as a whole statistically commit much higher crime than other racial groups. Cities pretty much are crime ridden through out the US & rural areas in general tend to be much more safe and in general most groups get a long fine and respect each others property and right to be left alone. Only in areas where drugs have taken over does that go against the general rule of thumb in rural areas.

Wow! As the creator said, it was his opinion. As a truck driver, I have traveled through many of the states. On the whole all of the states are friendly, have their own beauty and charm. Everything has its pros and cons like I'm sure NZ has. So on your visit, pick the highlights you want to see but also go off the beaten path. You may find a hidden gem! I hope you have a blast while you are here but it will take more than one visit to see it all. It's a big place lol.
Yes, absolutely go off the beaten path. Make sure to visit smaller communities. Do not judge America entirely by the biggest cities; they are not as representative of the country as a whole, as Hollywood wants you to think.
When I was younger I got the chance to visit the Smithsonian institute. For three days from open to close we hurried through as much as we could and still only got to see one third of it. Of course the highlight was the moon landing display. Moon rocks and the capsule. The other three days were spent visiting all the monuments and last but not least was Ford theater.
This definitely isn’t a list for best states to visit! It’s a great statistical analysis for states to live in, but a tourism list would be much different 😂

@@oliversoderberg299 Lisa is probably a butt hurt Californian 😂😂 Sorry Lisa, no one wants to visit California to be surrounded by the constant smell of feces, constant smell of marijuana, homeless people everywhere, junkies on the streets, men dressed in skimpy women's clothing, and rampant violence 😂😂😂 The only way I'll agree with her the slightest is that Hilton Head Island, South Carolina IS one of the best places to vacation on the lower 48 despite the state ranking in the 10 worst. As an Ohioan, I love Ohio, but if I were to move out of state, it would definitely be either New Hampshire or Maine, which I already had in mind before this video bc I've done plenty of research. Maine deserves to be bumped up higher in the rankings bc one big aspect that was ignored in this ranking list: safety of the state in the event of WW3, nukes dropping on America, etc. Maine is the #1 safest state in the event of a nuclear attack on America, if you look at all sorts of nuclear target maps and nuclear fallout maps.
I’m from Louisiana and saying it’s #50 is completely out landish to me. It is really safe here except with New Orleans which is like almost all cities. The food is amazing and everyone is so nice here. Hurricanes aren’t so bad as long as you don’t choose somewhere where it will flood. The government is not really corrupt now tho it was in the past around a century earlier. Also the only reason for the pollution is because everything states in the mid west dump goes straight down the Mississippi to us.
Wisconsinite here, and we take a lot of pride in being out in nature. During the winter it gets really cold here, yet you will see people outside ice fishing, going for walks on nature trails or skiing/snow shoeing. The summers are beautiful here, and can get quite hot so we love to spend time outside walking nature trails, relaxing out on a river/lake in a boat, and grilling outside. We make some really good beer, and have 600 varieties of cheese made in the state. We like to combine our beer and cheese along with whatever else we can find, and find any reason we can to have a tailgate/cookout. We have some of the friendliest people in the country living in our state, and we also make fun of ourselves just because. We have a comedian from Wisconsin named Charlie Berens who makes fun of everything people do in Wisconsin as well as around the Midwest, and we love it.
Same I really love living in Wisconsin. Lived here all my life. The school are great and my kids can always be active turning all year long. Learn extra winter driving but education system is not too shabby here either. Everybody here is friendly I just love it here.

I would say that Michigan is definitely underrated. It's far north enough that the summer's aren't too hot and you don't have to worry about deadly snakes or insects. But it's not too far north, so we have gorgeous summers, which allow us to enjoy the beautiful lakes that look like oceans.
Yeah up north, from the pictured rocks to the majestic lake superior and insane waterfalls all around teh UP. All the way down to the rich diverse culture in southeast Michigan im sorry but it's really a great state. #GreatLakesStateLove
I toot my horn in a bad way when it comes to living in Michigan. It literally said outside Detroit, Flint and Lansing it is a very pretty state. I agree, but I grew up in the worst part. Not Detroit. But Flint. Sure even downtown Flint lovely with a lot of updates and great automotive history and culture. But go north and slightly west of town a bit - Stay out! You have no business going into gang territory. Seriously! I live just inside or north east side and hear gun shots on a weekly basis. And my neighborhood is said to be ok ish for Flint. And don’t get me started on the water issues. When that happen I was starting to think were turning into a 3rd world country. In a nutshell they say it is affordable here. True stuff price wise is lower. But many don’t have jobs and if you have zero income you don’t even eat. Sorry to be a Debbie downer but I am surprised there not more states ranked worse in the rust belt area. Jobs gone to other countries made our great area from being on top in the 50s to trailer trash now. Another downside. The Great Lakes are awesome, but look at it this way. Michigan is like a nearly an island. With gas prices rising and just the cost of living. We are land locked. So importing from other states or even Canada is much more expensive. I believe the cost of food alone in the last few months even have tripled. True this is a problem everywhere. But again when your already broke it makes living here a lot worse.
Michigan is way underrated. We don't have mountains but have lots of shoreline, ponds, wildlife, beaches. We have Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum that no one has and can compare to; one of the tallest hotels in the U.S. and the world at RenCen. Tulip Festival in Holland. Mackinac Island is one of a kind, Mackinac Bridge a sight to see. Endless highlights...
Mi is underrated for sure, most of these videos are just seeing what is wrong with the state and not the good things in the state. Detroit always seems to bring us down.
The United States is a huge country. The major cities make up the majority of the statistics within each state. Every single state here is mostly beautiful and amazing for its own reasons. As someone who was born and raised in Tennessee and has traveled this country, don't let this video dissuade you from visiting any state in this beautiful place. Every single state has something unique and special to offer that you can't find anywhere else.
there is really no comparing the natural beauty of states like California, Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Arizona with states like Kansas, Nebraska, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama. it's like night and day on natural beauty

Actually that was the beginning of what i consider to be the nicest 8ish hour drive in the US through the appalachians and blue ridge mountains. i forget which interstate it was on that far south but I-81 through the blue ridges in Virginia is the northern 2/3 of the drive im referring to
No matter what I will always love Texas. We have mountains, canyons, hills, crystal clear lakes, clean rivers, plains, and we are a costal state. If you can’t find something for you in Texas you just haven’t looked.
My daughter went to High School in Plano, Texas. I think the schools are great. I think there’s many immigrants that can’t speak English, which creates a gap. But some of the schools in N Dallas look like Universities. The diversity is amazing. The gas & food is cheap. There’s no state tax. I have lived in California, Hawaii, North Carolina & South Carolina…and by far North Texas is the safest place I have lived. Hawaii is the most expensive but I definitely miss living there. The crime has gotten bad.

If you're talking about somebody just making some illegal alcohol than I'm not too worried about that I'm more worried about the type of crime that happens in the big cities in nc. Like Durham NC oh man it is bad but the crazy thing is I live like 30 minutes away from Durham and in my small town violent crime isn't really all that bad. It's usually drug dealing shoplifting and other things it is not often when we have a murder or something
@@thereal_fatshady6920 I have lived here all my life, although it has a lot of rural back roads with lots of old barns, small towns, and cows to look at as you drive through, it also makes the top 5 in the states with the highest poverty rate, top 5 in the worst education of all the states. And has a sales tax rate of 10% which is one of the highest in the nation. And to top it off, it ranks number 3 in the nation for most violent crimes according to a recent FBI report. Though it maybe a nice place to drive through, it's ugly if you have to live here. EDIT: Another fun fact, our previous Governor Robert J. Bentley was forced to resign by the courts after pleading guilty to corruption in April of 2017.
Living in New Hampshire for the last 35 years, I can't really disagree. The people are friendly, work is plentiful, taxes are low, landscape is gorgeous and varied. Yes, it gets cold and snowy in the winter, but the other 8 months have spectacular weather.
I also live in NH and can see it does get freezing during the winter but it's not as bad as some of the other ones like Alaska today in Alaska its 0 degrees and in Rochester NH where i live its only 21 degrees and now its not the best Texas and Florida are way warmer in Texas its 56 degrees in Florida its 77 degrees but like you said we still have an amazing summer and gorgeous landscape
I hear him constantly talking about how horrible the south is for their low income and poverty levels but it is also insanely cheap to live in most areas in the south. Someone living in New York making 100k a year living in a 700 sq. ft apartment is considered middle class but someone in Alabama making 30k a year living in a 2000 sq. ft. house is often considered poor. The south is one of the most beautiful areas with long coastlines and hundreds of lakes, mountains, hills, valleys, and vegetation. The lower life expectancy is largely due to the overall southern diet and way of life. Jobs in the south are often physically demanding and can often be dangerous. We also live much further apart than those in the north which allows us more freedom to do what we want on our property. You'll often see people shooting guns, fireworks, and explosives on their own property for fun. You can't always do that in many northern states. I'm not knocking the North down, they have some good things going for them as well, especially Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I'm just saying some of his arguments are very surface level. Income levels mean nothing if you don't simultaneously compare them in a ratio with the cost of living. Crime rates in nearly every state are also not things you can go off since most states have the vast majority of crime concentrated in one or two cities. States here are as large as entire European countries and painting the whole state with one brush is extremely difficult.
We live in Utah, and love it skiing in the winter time hikes in the summertime fishing boating, but I'm sure everybody loves their state or they wouldn't be living there, I hope you guys have a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
I'm a New Yorker, raised in the Bronx, third generation, lived and worked in Manhattan for a decade. So yes, I do recognize all the photos of NYC, and the photo of how beautiful "upstate" NY is a shot of the city I have lived in for over 30 years known as Beacon (we are also a nice riverside train ride to midtown Manhattan, so you get the best of both worlds). I personally love the place.
Was glad to see Utah at number 2. I've seen other videos that rank it at number 5. It is so gorgeous here and there are so many beautiful sites to see and activities to do all year.
I think the key to this video is that it was HIS opinion as well as the other metrics. My list would be vastly different. One thing it depends on is do you focus on the cities or the rural areas. It is purely subjective. I live in Colorado, and the cost of living is high in the cities. There are many rural areas that are affordable though. Love your channel! I have been watching for a while. When you come to the US, I hope you have a great time!

There is no perfect state out there, you just gotta go into a state and get your feel for it and see if it is right for you and your family. Talking to folks that live in the state that you re interested in before you go helps a lot too.
I agree there is no perfect state, but each state has something great about it. I think because I was raised in the north and got used to the snow and cold weather, it made it harder for me when we lived in the southern states. I can't stand to be hot!!! At least in the cold weather I can bundle up to get warm :)
I wish they would’ve shown more of the beauty of Minnesota. Summertime is fantastic. We’re not called the Land of 10,000 Lakes for nothing. There are actually many more than that. It was cool being in the top 5 though!!
I live in Massachusetts right on the border of New Hampshire. There is so much to enjoy in all the states but every time I watch your show I always think you guys should visit New England during the end of Summer and beginning of Fall . You can see the foliage and will probably still get a few warm days to go to the Beaches, Hike, and hit the Baseball games at Fenway in Boston. It is completely doable to visit Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and even Upstate New York in less then half a day drive tops depending on your starting point. Wherever you start your journey in America I hope you love it ! I will be watching :)
As a New Mexican, our state definitely has its problems and a lot of those problems make it less than ideal for raising a family. That being said, I grew up here and I absolutely love it and it’s still definitely worth a visit. We have fantastic food, scenery and people!

There’s a reason South Carolina was the 2nd most moved to, it’s an amazing place to live! The crime rate is extremely disproportionate so the lower part of the state usually has more crime than the upper! But either way, the upstate has beautiful lakes and obviously there are some great beaches to visit! The upstate is just an hour and a half from major cities like Atlanta and Charlotte but also just a few hours from the Florida border. It truly is a wonderful and convenient place to live.
I’m from Minnesota and was delighted to see us at # 5. I was surprised that he didn’t mention the natural beauty and we’re called, “The land of 10,000 lakes” although we actually have over 14,000 in a relatively small state. The cold 🥶 is a huge drawback though, but we have wonderful summers with water activities obviously a huge part of our summer fun.
Minneapolis+St. Paul (and all surrounding burbs) have some if not the best park systems in the U.S. As much as I hate the bitter cold, love the snow, but it's crazy easy to get outside and do some kind of activity.

Oregonian here! As the narrator said, we have some issues, a pretty bad homeless problem, really high rent/housing prices, but we’ve got the beach, mountains, high deserts, forests, no major big insects, no hurricanes or tornadoes or sales tax. I love it! 🙂
It's a good state on the eastern half, but the western half is horrible, if the state was split in two, the western half would be one of the worst states

It's tough to govern a state with such East/West and rural/urban, and seems to result in nobody being happy about what's going on. I love that whatever sport/activity/scenery I want, it's never too far to drive.
I love that N.H. came in 1st. My family been here since early1700. Beautiful ocean beaches, many rivers, and beautiful mountains. The people are great and every season (4) is wonderful. And did I mention safe.
I find it hilarious as a New Yorker who now l ives in TN that NY was rated so much higher. NO WAY. There wasn't much data to back up claims for any of these rankings either.... and I say that having been to all except for 5 states...
Utah really is so beautiful. If you need something you don't have to be afraid to ask your neighbors, everyone is so willing to help. The scenery is exquisite!
I was born in CA but grew up in Utah and my high school years in Nevada before moving to Utah then CA again to Nevada Idaho then moving to Alabama this is the state I will stay in its by far the best SLC used to be a nice place but really fell apart throughout the '90s and it is just now turned into a crap hole
From Colorado.. I was pretty stoked we were in the top 10! I'm allergic to the green stuff, but I still like living here :). We don't have hurricanes, or bugs that "splat" when you smoosh them lol... they're more crunchy. Plus... the fam and I live close enough to the mountains that we can take the dogs up to explore the trails often :)
I live in Tennessee but my family is from Mississippi and we go visit a few times a year. Maybe it's not great on paper, but the air is clean and the people are good. We were there for Thanksgiving and the front door was unlocked all day with neighbors and relatives coming in and out to visit a little while and have a slice of cake. That's sweet country living. If you're going rank MS low based on anything, it should be history. My family were slaves there just 5 generations ago. But they have owned land for the last 4 generations. And if you know anything about post-war Mississippi, you know that's quite an accomplishment 😊
I live in Ohio and contrary to popular belief we have some pretty cool things here: Kings Island, Cedar Point, Put In Bay, Columbus Zoo, Cincinnati Zoo, Ohio State Football, Old Man's Cave, are a couple of things we have to enjoy. Having said that, all of our States...even the one directly north of us have great things to see and enjoy!
Definitely a lot to see and do here. The National Museum of the US Air Force, Amish Country, Easton Town Center, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and then there are all the pro sporting events to name a few more.
I had a great time at the Space Museum in Wapakoneta. I went there for my birthday one year ... which was also Neil Armstrong's birthday. And when I went to the zoo in Cleveland back in 2003, I ended up drawing a crowd as Leda the orangutan and I began spontaneously "communicating" through the glass -- she was curious what things I was carrying and "asked" for me to show them, one by one,. When she finished looking at an item we traded "thank you"/"you're welcome" facial expressions and then she'd motion to see the next one.
Great video. I loved staying in the hotel shown for New Hampshire the Mount Washington Hotel very beautiful . A close second was staying at Mountain View Grand.
I live in Utah and it is pretty decent. The cost of living has gone up quite a lot the last five years and in the more rural counties wages have been slow in going up. There are a lot of jobs available. The scenery is beautiful.
I now live in Upstate NY. It's beautiful, rural and land cost is really affordable. I bought my 150 acres 20 years ago for 50K which is why I live here now instead of New England which is where my heart still lives (Born and raised there, a true blue New Englander). I've lived in VT, NH, MA and Maine in New England and CA, WA, GA and FL outside of New England and always kept moving back to the North East. You really cannot go wrong with those New England states! I am surprised that Vermont and Maine were not higher on the list.
I live in the middle of Nebraska in a very rural area. Most people think the whole state is flat because they only travel on I-80 through the state. But it's geographically diversified. It's elevation goes from 840 feet to 5424 feet. Although there are no mountains there are lots of hills and bad lands and more miles of rivers than any other state in the US. Even though my husband and I grew up in another state we are proud to claim Nebraska as our home!
Nebraska is really beautiful. I love it, and I'm from the spectacular mountains of Montana. I spent a month driving all over it and just enjoying its bluffs and its wilderness areas and its historical sites. Lovely.
You will find beautiful vistas and people in every state. I’ve lived in four Southern states for 10+ years in each state. I can’t wait to see our country through your eyes because I’ve enjoyed seeing yours through your eyes!
I’ve lived in Utah for many years and love it. There are lots of job opportunities, low poverty rate, great education, probably the best state to raise kids in my opinion and if you’re an outdoorsy person there is a ton of great hikes and stunning views. From the southern Utah desert to the beautiful snowy mountains Utah has a lot to offer.
Significant air pollution along the Wasatch Front due to frequent winter-time temperature inversions, & now, with the GSL drying up, toxic dust coming from the dried up lake bed ( arsenic & a number of other heavy metals). Also, high risk for major earthquake; a recent 5.7 just west of SLC
@@teddtarr So don’t go to the Wasatch front. I’m from West Valley and you couldn’t pay me to move back to that region, but I still live in Utah and only go to Salt Lake or Provo maybe 3 times a year for doctors appointments. Now I’m not saying we have no problems rurally since everywhere has something you can complain about, but there’s 29 counties in Utah and those issues exist in 4 counties other than the earthquakes. We’re not exactly Los Angeles with the earthquakes either, my parents are in their 60’s and have only been through 2. Also the lake is refilling rapidly, we’re always on a 6-8 year drought cycle like most western states.
Utahn Here! It's far from perfect (as every state is), but it's the #1 economy because its very friendly to tech businesses. Some of the fastest growing and most successful companies have come out of Utah in recent years. There's also an amazing artists culture, (Imagine Dragons, and Neon Trees came out of Utah). Despite it growing like crazy, its one of the nations best kept secrets.
New Hampshire also has both coastline and mountains within a 3 hour drive. New Hampshire has NO STATE SALES TAX and NO STATE INCOME TAX. And you can DRIVE to the top of Mount Washington on the Auto Road, or take the scenic Cog Railway to the top. At the top is the Visitors Center with a restaurant, gift shop, and the Observatory. The fastest wind gust in the world was recorded there in the 1940's at 237 miles per hour.
Utah here! Absolutely love it. Skiing in the Northern part of the state. Beautiful national parks in the southern half of the state! Great economy, schools, and healthcare. Absolutely love it here!

Lol the liquor laws are not a problem or any big deal to those of us who do drink (I'm only an occasional drinker). The liquor laws are also not an impediment in the least for a few people I know who are raging long-term alcoholics. They manage quite easily to continue to do what they do.
Hello family. As a proud southerner I would like to invite you and your family for a visit and good ole southern meal. My wife and I currently live in Mississippi. We have been stereotyped for so long. However, I see quite a bit of folks moving here from northern states. Go figure.....love you guys. Keep up the good work.
As far as New York is concerned. The area right above New York City the Hudson Valley area is expensive. However it's a pretty large state and the rest of it is cheaper than that area. Our taxes are ridiculous though in my opinion. I live close to the complete other end of the state. New York is a beautiful state.
I'm another Utahn, It's super topographically diverse. I can experience everything from dense pine forests to pink-red deserts without leaving the state or sometimes in my own case the county. I can experience 112 degrees F in July and -15 degrees F in January without driving for more than 6 hours or leaving the state, also both of those locations are technically deserts. There's a small history museum for basically every town you come to and in it, you will find some volunteers waiting to show you the town's first X-ray machine(I've seen one of these in more than 4 little town museums all over Utah) and other similar items. History is all around us and we take the time to preserve it from prehistory to the 1940's there's some kind of a sign to tell you about the place you're standing in.
I was born and raised in Indiana, living there most of my life. When my husband retired and I became disabled, we moved to the mountains of Tennessee. It has more plusses than minuses. No income tax, cheaper all around taxes, except for food, but no state income tax!... So it equals out. The high prices for healthcare and medicines are making it's way here, making it tough for our community. I live in the mountains in a Tourist's town, nearest box store city is 30 miles away. I guessed New Hampshire. I have a cousin living there. We just moved to WA. Beautiful natural mountains and forests with gorgeous lakes, streams, and sounds.
As a person from Michigan, I love our state. We have the UP and the Great Lakes and some of the best hunting and fishing in the country to go along with those. Minnesota may have 14000 puddles, but we have the most true lakes.
Massachusetts here! Boston is wonderful…a very walkable city with some of the best hospitals and colleges. Everybody loves Cape Cod (for the lovely beaches and quaint Cape Cod homes) and the Berkshires (with its natural beauty). You can easily drive to all the other New England states to enjoy the beaches and state parks in Maine, the beautiful greenery and hills of Vermont, the incredible mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, and, of course, the beaches and state parks in New Hampshire. I can’t imagine living anywhere else!
In 2006, I was referred by my primary Doctor to go to Boston General for surgery to remove a lump in my left ankle, when I woke up, the Surgeon said the lump was a tumor and it would take 2 weeks to get results for a test for cancer, two days after I got a call, they said when the cut the tumor in half, there was 4 other kinds of tumors and it would be 10 weeks to get the results for all the tests, I would have never got a call from any hospital in Vermont about the extra 8 weeks for the results.
Did you forget Boston's (and New York's) forgotten brother Connecticut? Yes, you might have Harvard, be we do have Yale..🤓 Connecticut, Your NZ family, is called the pass through state, because people are ready to visit New York, then Boston. Connecticut has history and the best museum is Yale's Peabody Museum, but there's museums for clocks, railroads, submarines, Merry go rounds plus food is great (lobster rolls, pizzas, hamburgers, ice cream, hot dogs (the best places for hot dogs are on the side of the road out of Airstream trailers, or hot dog carts or from little shacks) or other foods. Connecticut has the oldest amusement park in the US. When you visit, I'd recommend the Northeast. Sturbridge and Mystic are two living museums (they'll show life in the 1830s (Sturbridge a small farming town, Mystic a seaside town of the same time period). You would need to visit the US about 50 times to see every state...(That's why Americans don't visit other countries, we can't see our own countries in a day!)
Yes Sam, that lake was Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes. Several states don't have an income tax, but there is a federal income tax. I live in #4 Washington state. Although he wasn't harsh enough. The scenery is spectacular, but the crime is high, as are the taxes, cost of living and unemployment. It is also one of the more politically progressive states causing many citizens to want to move if they could afford to.
Politically corrupt, 2nd highest gas tax ( highest after Jan 1), highest property thefts and as far as the spectacular scenery goes good luck getting to any of them, the crowds anywhere on the west side are insane and parking is packed. You have to reserve camp spots 6 months to a year early, it wasn’t that long ago you could plan on a Thursday to go camping that weekend and have plenty of spots to choose from. People that have recently moved here like to say “people up here don’t know how to drive” and I always say if you pulled those people over and simply asked where they were from probably 70% would not say Washington State, so it’s you fools that don’t know how to drive, California has not only ruined that sewer they’ve ruined the entire left coast, from Montana East. I’m one of those wanting to move but Idaho and Montana are over my budget now, rundown homes in western Montana are getting $600k+.

I have traveled to every state and logged more than 60 days in each. Some have made my list as "never a destination." However, I did settle on South Dakota as where I finally settled down in. Yes, I have traveled to 56 countries and all 50 states, and South Dakota won me over. I'm currently building my house there.
@@ninaddemaio i love jersey. just moved back to new brunswick, had been living in louisiana for a few years. two very different states but loved every second ive spent in both of them. jersey has all 4 seasons, jersey has beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers and forrests. jersey has some of the best food in the country. the only major downside is that the roads are so congested but what makes up for that is competant driving. nobody in louisiana can drive at all
Regarding Illinois, yes, that was a lake. Lake Michigan to be exact. The Great Lakes system contains around 21% of the world’s fresh water. Lake Superior is the world’s largest fresh water lake by surface area. I believe Lake Baikul (sp?) in Siberia is largest by volume because it is stupid-deep. Lake Superior gets pretty deep too, with a maximum depth of over 1000 feet. When you stand next to Lake Michigan or Lake Superior, it feels as if you are standing next to an ocean.
I’m from MN and as a teen was a distance swimmer so strong and confident in my water skills. Made a huge mistake and jumped off a rock into Lake Superior in September on the North Shore. Hot the water and immediately couldn’t use my legs because the water was so cold. I remember thinking I was going to drown in the shallows 5’ from lamd. Terrifying. My Dad dragged me out and reminded me I can be an idiot. He was right

I’m from Washington State and Utah, and I love them both. Washington is only really rainy in the west. In central WA it got up to 47.2c degrees here one summer. The scenery is really diverse. We have mountains, oceans, lakes, rainforest, forests, deserts, and vineyards. We also pay well and have no state income tax. We do have a meth problem and expenses are going through the roof. People can be kinda unfriendly here. Utah is beautiful with better job opportunities and the people are really nice. It’s not very diverse though.
i live in wyoming. in the northern (and east/central) part of the state. it's so beautiful. i was born in the south and in many ways it is still home to me :) i have traveled to many of our 50 states and find a certain charm in each one. friendly people can find other friendly people anywhere! but wyoming is home now for 40 years of my life and i wouldn't change that. come on over and enjoy yourselves! it has a wonderful laid back feel to it ...... probably that mountain air ....... in some ways the old west still lives on in wyoming!
I’m originally from NH, lived there my first 18 years of life! I’ve since lived in Japan, Ohio, Florida, and Texas and visited several other states. I can say for sure Maryland, New Hampshire and Maine are my favorite states 😊. Highly recommend the visit to NH and ME, you could do Mass, Nh, & ME all in one trip as they’re geographically very close! I lived in Massachussets for the first 41 years of my life, just north of Boston. Living in New England was so cool because of all the different awesome states that are only an hour or so drive away. Vermont has always been my personal favorite, even since I was a 4 year old :) But I guessed the winner would be New Hampshire. Mountains to one side, beaches to the other, and beautiful scenery everywhere.
I also live in NH and i still do its so beautiful and there is so much to do and the big white building with the red roof is called the red jacket its in North Conway NH i been there it has a indoor water park that you can have so much fun in but in April there was a giant fire on the side of the building but sense its been restored. Its also so funny how you mentioned something about 603 my friend put 603 on every thing his gmail has 603 his password has 603 and you can see in his signature that he makes a little 603 at the end and for the people who dont know what 603 is its the three digits that we put in the beginning of our cell phone number. 😁 (so happy that New Hampshire made it number one)
Was born and raised in NH the first 35 years of my life. Moved to Texas but when I finally retire I will move back to NH for the remainder of my life. The small towns are pretty safe. A murder happened a about 1 year before I left. It was the first murder in the 8-9 town area in 20 years.
I've lived in several parts of Utah for about 35 of my 46 years alive, and traveled all over the western US. If you ever make a visit here, I highly recommend coming between Autumn equinox and the first week of October. Overall, that's the best weather, and most spectacular fall foliage (peak colors typically last few days in September). And if you decide to come in the next year, HMU. I can give your family a full guided tour that takes about 10 days, that will also cover bits of Arizona and Nevada, as well. We'd show you all the following: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Zion, Park City, the Alpine Loop, Salt Lake City, the Great Salt Lake, the salt flats, Antelope Island, Bear Lake, and more. OR Alternatively, if you wanted a more northern tour, we'd skip the bits in Arizona and Nevada, to the south. Instead, we'd show you Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Jackson hole, to the north.
I live in Washington. The nature here is incredible. Even in the city I live in it practically feels like living in a forest. There are hiking trails everywhere. In the summer there are an abundance of lakes to swim in, and in the winter we are within driving distance to numerous mountains for skiing. The west coast of the state is sprawling with vibrant rain forests and experiences temperate seasons due to being sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the cascade mountain range. However, don’t be fooled into thinking all of Washington is the Gray skies and wet air of Seattle. The cascade mountains cut the east and west side of the state and half. everything east of the mountains is dry, blue skies.

As a proud born and bred New Hampshrite (who is not biased at all haha) I totally concur with our number one status. Actually, you can't go wrong with any of the New England states. I've traveled all over the US and there is nowhere else I would want to live. What I love best about NH is that I live in a small city of around 30,000 people, but it's like I live in the country. My house is surrounded by woods and wildlife and I only have a neighbor on one side. There are mountains, lakes and the ocean and Boston is less than an hour away (Montreal, Canada only a little over 3 hours). Love to spend the day in Boston, but always leave with a sense of relief knowing I am going home to my quiet little town. I will give a shout out to Maine, though. We spend our summers on the coast of Maine and we absolutely love it!
I lived in Hampton Beach in the late 90’s,1999, and it was a blast. I was only there for the summer but we had so much fun there. I love Boston,one of my favorite cities and I’ve lived all over the world. I miss the New England food.

I have to say Michigan is HIGHLY underrated. The reputation and perception of Detroit seems to bring our state down on a lot of lists. But northern and West Michigan more than make up for it. To the north is spacious beautiful sights and a different way of life. West Michigan has Lake Michigan, tons of beaches and sights and things to do also. Small towns are great all throughout the state. My opinion only, of course. Go Blue!
Michigan is the best state. We have planes, mountains, rolling hills, and not to mention a state park around every corner. For the most part. The lake and rives are great. We also have the makanak bridge that lights up beautifully and all the amazing other sights. I almost forgot to mention Michigan Adventures. In spring, summer, and fall, Michigan is the best. We even have hell, and yes, it does freeze over every year. The cherry festival and the apple harvest are also some fun events. Plus, we have frankenmuth an old-fashioned german town with some of the best food and drinks. This is my opinion, obviously, but I happen to be a trucker who has been to half the states. It ok if you don't agree with me I have a bias because I live here. Just stay away from Detroit and Flint . If you find yourselves in either leave and if you're in flint in particular under no circumstances, should you ever drink the tap water. They still have not fixed the lead water problem. All who have made it the far into my ramblings of my home state, thank you, and have an amazing week.
Actually, Detroit is really on a comeback. If you use common sense, you can be safe going around downtown. Lots of great restaurants, Detroit Institute of Arts and Historical Museum, the Detroit waterfront has been voted several times the best in the country!!! Something for everyone in Michigan!!!!
I have worked all over the country and Michigan was one of my favorite places, I was around Grand Rapids and thought it was beautiful and loved the people.
Kansas boy here. I drive an 18 wheeler, and while i cant say i love your state...but i do cry when i have to cross over to Alabama! 🤣 Dont know if that makes you feel any better! I mean...they have an elephant for a college mascot..to go along with the motto ROLL TIDE...that dont make no damned bit of sense!
I live in Florida but love the state of West Virginia. The people are very friendly and helpful and the scenery is beautiful and it is cheap to live there and homes can be affordable with land. I also love the small back towns.
Wisconsin here but for my job over 12 years I worked in 47 states on government jobs. This allowed me to visit many places see the cost of living based on food and hotel prices and gauge wages since my standard wage was based out of Wisconsin but if the area I worked had a higher wage I received that instead. Unless I was on the west coast or upper east coast I usually made more than the local wage. I can find nice things about every state but I personally I am not fond of the big cities. This list is for residing in the states if you did a list for visiting/vacation a lot of this list would flip.
Arizona - the heat is not that bad, just visit in Dec - Mar and enjoy the 70F / 21C sunny weather. NZ Family, if you ever make it to AZ ensure you check out the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It is an amazing world class park bringing in people from all over the world.
I don't live in Arizona but it's my favorite state after my own. The big negative is the summer heat, but Flagstaff is a wonderful place to visit. Lowell observatory, near the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater and the painted desert, etc. Eagle fans can also stand on a street corner in Winslow, AZ. Just be careful of snowstorms. Tombstone is south of Tucson, which is also very interesting, with an excellent nature museum.
I recently stumbled upon y'all. I am from Huntsville, Alabama, so I loved the shoutout. However, I live in Denver, Colorado, and I have to agree that he placed it well, seeing as crime has gone up quite a bit over the last few years. I have not been to Vermont or New Hampshire, but I will next month, and I cannot wait!
I live in WV. He was right about some of it. It’s Gorgeous here, the Seasons are Beautiful, but it has its problems. If you don’t work as a Coal Miner, or nurse or Teacher, you may want to rethink living here. Visiting is great, and as a retirement state, it’s not bad either. Everywhere has its goods and bads. He was pretty rough on lots of States, lol...If I move,it would probably be to NC. A lot like here, just improved a little Love watching you guys! PS. The gold on top of our State Capitol in Charleston, WV is stunning.❤️
Maryland is awesome!! We're on the incredibly beautiful Chesapeake Bay and have amazing farmland, beaches, and mountains. If you visit "The Old Line State" (conveniently located in the middle of the East Coast) be sure to try some crabcakes and Berger's cookies. Stop in Ocean City to walk the boardwalk and grab a bucket of Thrasher's Fries. Enjoy the Amish markets and the charm of many small towns. 😊 I love something about every state I've visited. We are definitely a large melting pot!! 🇺🇸
Also called, “American In Miniature,” because nearly every type of terrain can be found here! We also enjoy the beauty of all 4 seasons, without any extreme weather.
I’ve recently discovered your channel and have been commenting. I have to say that you’ll want to visit Utah and spend time here focusing on both southern Utah, and northern separately. The southern half of the state has some of the most beautiful red rock formations in our many national parks, including delicate arch, which is a world famous formation, and is a wonderful, beautiful hike to go up and take a lot of photos. Northern Utah has more rocky and forested mountains and there’s a lot more green with lots of natural lakes where we love to spend our summers water skiing Northern Utah also has the highest concentration of snowboarding and ski resorts found anywhere giving us some of the most amazing year-round, outdoor activities and some of the most beautiful scenery. I highly recommend that you not only get familiar with Salt Lake City and its surrounding areas, but that you take a 30 minute drive up the canyon to Park city, Utah or some of the best skiing and snowboarding is as it is a small mountain town that used to be a silver mining town back in the 1800s, but has since become a scenic destination with lots of skiing and snowboarding during the winter but the Resorts also host mountain, biking, and hiking activities throughout the summer months.
Being from Wyoming and living in several states over my life I gotta say…there is a reason I moved back to Wyoming. So beautiful and the laws here are very relaxed compared to other states!

I was born and raised in Georgia. I love this state. It's the trees, older homes, and mountainous terrains for me. Honestly, every state has it's own beauty. I would love to visit everyone of them. Thank you for sharing this video.
Being in the military, I've gotten the opportunity to live in wide range of places. I may be a little bias but Colorado is by far the best state I've called home. Grew up in Northern Colorado and took it for granted. The Rockies are beautiful year round and they push most the weather over and on to the plains. Colorado is also the healthiest state with plenty of people spending much of their free time outdoors. I will say now that I've traveled across the country and even been overseas to places like Japan and Singapore, Coloradans are not always the nicest people. The Rockies pull in a lot of tourism and with that also comes people moving to the state. This has shot up the cost of living and most Coloradans aren't afraid to voice their opinion on new residents and tourist. Illinois was my second state to live in. Chicago is amazing! Great food, Great people, and Great sights. The autumn is breath taking. I've also spent a lot of time in Wisconsin while living in Illinois. Just as beautiful and the story book Red Barns are everywhere. Some of my best memories come from my time spent in California. Lived in San Diego but drove all the way up to San Francisco a couple of times. The drivers here are literally trying to kill you and traffic is a mess everywhere! Not something you'd really think about but although the drivers in California are aggressive, They aren't bad. Most everyone drives the same so it's very predictable. I feel like LA gets a lot of attention and everything else is just kinda there with it. San Diego is amazing and the Central Valley is something you wouldn't think of when you hear California. The last state I've called home and where I currently live is Hawaii. This state is so over hyped! I have nothing against Hawaii, but it's just so damn expensive and so far from the mainland. The locals aren't to keen of us on their island either. The beauty of this state though is memorizing. It's always warm and the water is incredibly blue. For someone who rides motorcycles, Hawaii is perfect in almost everyway, except all the potholes trying to kill you. The infrastructure in Hawaii is not great but Places like Honolulu and Waikiki, are perfectly walkable. The U.S. is pretty everywhere you go. Each state is unique and the culture is rich. Illinois was the friendliest state, Hawaii the prettiest, and California the most fun. Overall though, nothing will ever beat Colorado for me.

If you Make it to Seattle, A Must to SEE.. is the Salmon tossing at Pike Place Market and Undergound Seattle Tour, Have Lunch in the Space Needle, the Restaurant floor turns, as you sit and eat..Giving you a 360 Degree View at roughly 550 feet above the City... AMAZING!! Father was an Iron Worker/ Welder on the Needle.. Then there the Seattle Center and Marina to see, take a tour from the Seattle Docks, up and threw the Locks into Lake Washington and Back..
I live in Maryland. This state is very diverse. You can drive west and be in the mountains and drive east and be at the ocean and in between you have the wide-open farmlands to the historical cities. I live in Annapolis, the home of the U.S. Naval Acadamy, which is beautiful. I know they say Baltimore is a terrible city, but that is only a small part of the city. Downtown Baltimore is beautiful. Being just a few miles from D.C. is a plus too.
Hi. I'm born and raised in Connecticut. I have lived in my hometown just about my whole life, East Hartford. There is a wide variety of things to do here. We have lots of history and culture. Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe called our capital home. You can ski in the winter and go to the sheltered beaches of the Long Island Sound. Our forest state parks are beautiful. We have the oldest continuous operating amusement parks, Lake Compounce. And if you want to venture outside our boarders, we're perched between Boston and New York! Come visit, I'll show you my diverse and beautiful state.
As someone from Wisconsin, we take our beer and dairy very seriously here. On top of having 7 of the top 10 drunkest cities, we have 41 of the top 50 drunkest counties in the nation as well. You need a cheesemaker license here as well in order to make cheese
This made me laugh😂... we do undoubtedly have the best cheese. Our state is also beautiful especially in the summer time. If only we didn't have terrible winters lol. I'm not sure how Minnesota got ranked so far above Wisconsin, but that's okay. I love my Minnesota family 😂.
As someone who’s lived in California, Colorado and now Idaho, all three are great places to visit. CA isn’t affordable or very safe anymore, only family to visit. In Idaho, I’m not far from rivers and mountains, and I’m next to Utah and Wyoming for National Parks, if I want.
He was far too mean to Louisiana, I mean you have to try our food! And going to college at LSU is life-changing. The history of Louisiana is so interesting, and the unique Cajun backgrounds of many residents cause some of the most interesting accents you'll ever hear because a lot of Louisianans are fluent in French! New Orleans is magical if you know where to go, and you'll meet some of the nicest people you'll ever meet!
We had a great time on vacation to New Orleans. Fav thing we did was a food tour. All the food was delicious, only one item I didn't like. Had the most amazing pork chops and a piece of pecan pie that I still dream about.

So true! I grew up in Kansas, lived in Illinois for awhile and now in Florida. Every state I have lived in and visited is great in different ways. Hope to make it to all 50 states and more countries as well as have been to several in Europe but wasn't to travel to many other places.
I do tend to draw the line at Arizona--just sun, sand, snakes, scorpions, & saguaros.
I think all of our states have something to offer. It's like 50 siblings living in 1 household. We're brothers and sisters - each with our own individual styles, likes and dislikes, and sibling rivalries. Nevertheless, we're family and I love our uniqueness. 🇺🇲

Yeah, I think he just kind of chucked Michigan in there somewhere. Surprised Lansing was worth mentioning, Flint kinda sucks (thank GM), although they did produce Terry Crews. Detroit has a few bad areas but there are also some great ones and it's improving. You can't take motown, hip-hop or rock and roll away from the Detroit. I mean, Kiss, "Detroit Rock City".
On the plus side, Michigan has tons of lakes Including the Great Lakes. We have the longest freshwater coastline and the 2nd longest coastline period. Michigan is the only state with 2 peninsula's. If you haven't been to the upper one, you must, it is an outdoorsmans paradise. The 2 peninsulas are connected by what once was the longest suspension bridge in the world, The "Mighty Mac". It is still the longest in the northern hemisphere. Michigan has islands! including the beautiful and historic Mackinac. We have Incredible fudge, maple syrup, cherries, apples cider and cider donuts, Pasties, Coney dogs, Detroit style pizza and our own soda flavors... ever had "Rock and Rye" N-Zeders? We are 5th in the country for the number of breweries, microbreweries and brew pubs (Where you can watch the undefeated wolverines), earning us the nick name "The Great Beer State", drop the mic.

@@dannyp9537 yeah, but we have way more bad cities than just those, and detroit is only getting better where they are flooding college kids in like midtown, southwest, the east side, the west side, still all bad, and even midtown still get crazy sometimes, but if we seperate that from the state, michigan is top 5 imo (if it wasnt for this damn 6 month winter we got it would be a easy number 1)

I live in Alabama, grew up in Mississippi and my whole family is from Tennessee. The South is a beautiful, friendly place. Just like all the others they all have problems but when I walk outside at night and it looks like we are drapped in stars and it's so quiet, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else
I've lived in Alabama too and been in Mississippi. It sucks. Its very pretty, but racial tensions are very high and not spoken about. There is also still INTENSE gerrymandering and redlining. Tennessee is by far the best out of those three.

@@A-ID-A-M Racial tensions are high? You do realize the South has way more "minority" races than the north with the highest % of the black population than any of the other regions. Racial tensions are not as high as the media wants to make out other than the fact the black population as a whole statistically commit much higher crime than other racial groups. Cities pretty much are crime ridden through out the US & rural areas in general tend to be much more safe and in general most groups get a long fine and respect each others property and right to be left alone. Only in areas where drugs have taken over does that go against the general rule of thumb in rural areas.

Wow! As the creator said, it was his opinion. As a truck driver, I have traveled through many of the states. On the whole all of the states are friendly, have their own beauty and charm. Everything has its pros and cons like I'm sure NZ has. So on your visit, pick the highlights you want to see but also go off the beaten path. You may find a hidden gem! I hope you have a blast while you are here but it will take more than one visit to see it all. It's a big place lol.

When I was younger I got the chance to visit the Smithsonian institute. For three days from open to close we hurried through as much as we could and still only got to see one third of it. Of course the highlight was the moon landing display. Moon rocks and the capsule. The other three days were spent visiting all the monuments and last but not least was Ford theater.

The only way I'll agree with her the slightest is that Hilton Head Island, South Carolina IS one of the best places to vacation on the lower 48 despite the state ranking in the 10 worst.
As an Ohioan, I love Ohio, but if I were to move out of state, it would definitely be either New Hampshire or Maine, which I already had in mind before this video bc I've done plenty of research.
Maine deserves to be bumped up higher in the rankings bc one big aspect that was ignored in this ranking list: safety of the state in the event of WW3, nukes dropping on America, etc. Maine is the #1 safest state in the event of a nuclear attack on America, if you look at all sorts of nuclear target maps and nuclear fallout maps.

I’m from Louisiana and saying it’s #50 is completely out landish to me. It is really safe here except with New Orleans which is like almost all cities. The food is amazing and everyone is so nice here. Hurricanes aren’t so bad as long as you don’t choose somewhere where it will flood. The government is not really corrupt now tho it was in the past around a century earlier. Also the only reason for the pollution is because everything states in the mid west dump goes straight down the Mississippi to us.

Wisconsinite here, and we take a lot of pride in being out in nature. During the winter it gets really cold here, yet you will see people outside ice fishing, going for walks on nature trails or skiing/snow shoeing. The summers are beautiful here, and can get quite hot so we love to spend time outside walking nature trails, relaxing out on a river/lake in a boat, and grilling outside. We make some really good beer, and have 600 varieties of cheese made in the state. We like to combine our beer and cheese along with whatever else we can find, and find any reason we can to have a tailgate/cookout. We have some of the friendliest people in the country living in our state, and we also make fun of ourselves just because. We have a comedian from Wisconsin named Charlie Berens who makes fun of everything people do in Wisconsin as well as around the Midwest, and we love it.

Same I really love living in Wisconsin. Lived here all my life. The school are great and my kids can always be active turning all year long. Learn extra winter driving but education system is not too shabby here either. Everybody here is friendly I just love it here.

I would say that Michigan is definitely underrated. It's far north enough that the summer's aren't too hot and you don't have to worry about deadly snakes or insects. But it's not too far north, so we have gorgeous summers, which allow us to enjoy the beautiful lakes that look like oceans.

I toot my horn in a bad way when it comes to living in Michigan. It literally said outside Detroit, Flint and Lansing it is a very pretty state. I agree, but I grew up in the worst part. Not Detroit. But Flint. Sure even downtown Flint lovely with a lot of updates and great automotive history and culture. But go north and slightly west of town a bit - Stay out! You have no business going into gang territory. Seriously! I live just inside or north east side and hear gun shots on a weekly basis. And my neighborhood is said to be ok ish for Flint. And don’t get me started on the water issues. When that happen I was starting to think were turning into a 3rd world country. In a nutshell they say it is affordable here. True stuff price wise is lower. But many don’t have jobs and if you have zero income you don’t even eat. Sorry to be a Debbie downer but I am surprised there not more states ranked worse in the rust belt area. Jobs gone to other countries made our great area from being on top in the 50s to trailer trash now. Another downside. The Great Lakes are awesome, but look at it this way. Michigan is like a nearly an island. With gas prices rising and just the cost of living. We are land locked. So importing from other states or even Canada is much more expensive. I believe the cost of food alone in the last few months even have tripled. True this is a problem everywhere. But again when your already broke it makes living here a lot worse.

Michigan is way underrated. We don't have mountains but have lots of shoreline, ponds, wildlife, beaches. We have Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum that no one has and can compare to; one of the tallest hotels in the U.S. and the world at RenCen. Tulip Festival in Holland. Mackinac Island is one of a kind, Mackinac Bridge a sight to see. Endless highlights...
Mi is underrated for sure, most of these videos are just seeing what is wrong with the state and not the good things in the state. Detroit always seems to bring us down.
Utah is definitely worth visiting, especially Southern Utah. It's absolutely gorgeous.
The United States is a huge country. The major cities make up the majority of the statistics within each state. Every single state here is mostly beautiful and amazing for its own reasons. As someone who was born and raised in Tennessee and has traveled this country, don't let this video dissuade you from visiting any state in this beautiful place. Every single state has something unique and special to offer that you can't find anywhere else.

No matter what I will always love Texas. We have mountains, canyons, hills, crystal clear lakes, clean rivers, plains, and we are a costal state. If you can’t find something for you in Texas you just haven’t looked.
My daughter went to High School in Plano, Texas. I think the schools are great. I think there’s many immigrants that can’t speak English, which creates a gap. But some of the schools in N Dallas look like Universities. The diversity is amazing. The gas & food is cheap. There’s no state tax. I have lived in California, Hawaii, North Carolina & South Carolina…and by far North Texas is the safest place I have lived. Hawaii is the most expensive but I definitely miss living there. The crime has gotten bad.

If you're talking about somebody just making some illegal alcohol than I'm not too worried about that I'm more worried about the type of crime that happens in the big cities in nc. Like Durham NC oh man it is bad but the crazy thing is I live like 30 minutes away from Durham and in my small town violent crime isn't really all that bad. It's usually drug dealing shoplifting and other things it is not often when we have a murder or something

I have lived here all my life, although it has a lot of rural back roads with lots of old barns, small towns, and cows to look at as you drive through, it also makes the top 5 in the states with the highest poverty rate, top 5 in the worst education of all the states. And has a sales tax rate of 10% which is one of the highest in the nation.
And to top it off, it ranks number 3 in the nation for most violent crimes according to a recent FBI report.
Though it maybe a nice place to drive through, it's ugly if you have to live here.
EDIT: Another fun fact, our previous Governor Robert J. Bentley was forced to resign by the courts after pleading guilty to corruption in April of 2017.

Living in New Hampshire for the last 35 years, I can't really disagree. The people are friendly, work is plentiful, taxes are low, landscape is gorgeous and varied. Yes, it gets cold and snowy in the winter, but the other 8 months have spectacular weather.

I hear him constantly talking about how horrible the south is for their low income and poverty levels but it is also insanely cheap to live in most areas in the south. Someone living in New York making 100k a year living in a 700 sq. ft apartment is considered middle class but someone in Alabama making 30k a year living in a 2000 sq. ft. house is often considered poor. The south is one of the most beautiful areas with long coastlines and hundreds of lakes, mountains, hills, valleys, and vegetation. The lower life expectancy is largely due to the overall southern diet and way of life. Jobs in the south are often physically demanding and can often be dangerous. We also live much further apart than those in the north which allows us more freedom to do what we want on our property. You'll often see people shooting guns, fireworks, and explosives on their own property for fun. You can't always do that in many northern states. I'm not knocking the North down, they have some good things going for them as well, especially Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I'm just saying some of his arguments are very surface level. Income levels mean nothing if you don't simultaneously compare them in a ratio with the cost of living. Crime rates in nearly every state are also not things you can go off since most states have the vast majority of crime concentrated in one or two cities. States here are as large as entire European countries and painting the whole state with one brush is extremely difficult.

I'm a New Yorker, raised in the Bronx, third generation, lived and worked in Manhattan for a decade. So yes, I do recognize all the photos of NYC, and the photo of how beautiful "upstate" NY is a shot of the city I have lived in for over 30 years known as Beacon (we are also a nice riverside train ride to midtown Manhattan, so you get the best of both worlds). I personally love the place.
Was glad to see Utah at number 2. I've seen other videos that rank it at number 5. It is so gorgeous here and there are so many beautiful sites to see and activities to do all year.

I think the key to this video is that it was HIS opinion as well as the other metrics. My list would be vastly different. One thing it depends on is do you focus on the cities or the rural areas. It is purely subjective. I live in Colorado, and the cost of living is high in the cities. There are many rural areas that are affordable though. Love your channel! I have been watching for a while. When you come to the US, I hope you have a great time!

There is no perfect state out there, you just gotta go into a state and get your feel for it and see if it is right for you and your family. Talking to folks that live in the state that you re interested in before you go helps a lot too.
I agree there is no perfect state, but each state has something great about it. I think because I was raised in the north and got used to the snow and cold weather, it made it harder for me when we lived in the southern states. I can't stand to be hot!!! At least in the cold weather I can bundle up to get warm :)

I live in Massachusetts right on the border of New Hampshire. There is so much to enjoy in all the states but every time I watch your show I always think you guys should visit New England during the end of Summer and beginning of Fall . You can see the foliage and will probably still get a few warm days to go to the Beaches, Hike, and hit the Baseball games at Fenway in Boston. It is completely doable to visit Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and even Upstate New York in less then half a day drive tops depending on your starting point. Wherever you start your journey in America I hope you love it ! I will be watching :)

As a New Mexican, our state definitely has its problems and a lot of those problems make it less than ideal for raising a family. That being said, I grew up here and I absolutely love it and it’s still definitely worth a visit. We have fantastic food, scenery and people!

There’s a reason South Carolina was the 2nd most moved to, it’s an amazing place to live! The crime rate is extremely disproportionate so the lower part of the state usually has more crime than the upper! But either way, the upstate has beautiful lakes and obviously there are some great beaches to visit! The upstate is just an hour and a half from major cities like Atlanta and Charlotte but also just a few hours from the Florida border. It truly is a wonderful and convenient place to live.

I’m from Minnesota and was delighted to see us at # 5. I was surprised that he didn’t mention the natural beauty and we’re called, “The land of 10,000 lakes” although we actually have over 14,000 in a relatively small state. The cold 🥶 is a huge drawback though, but we have wonderful summers with water activities obviously a huge part of our summer fun.
Minneapolis+St. Paul (and all surrounding burbs) have some if not the best park systems in the U.S. As much as I hate the bitter cold, love the snow, but it's crazy easy to get outside and do some kind of activity.

Oregonian here! As the narrator said, we have some issues, a pretty bad homeless problem, really high rent/housing prices, but we’ve got the beach, mountains, high deserts, forests, no major big insects, no hurricanes or tornadoes or sales tax. I love it! 🙂

I love that N.H. came in 1st. My family been here since early1700. Beautiful ocean beaches, many rivers, and beautiful mountains. The people are great and every season (4) is wonderful. And did I mention safe.

I was born in CA but grew up in Utah and my high school years in Nevada before moving to Utah then CA again to Nevada Idaho then moving to Alabama this is the state I will stay in its by far the best SLC used to be a nice place but really fell apart throughout the '90s and it is just now turned into a crap hole
From Colorado.. I was pretty stoked we were in the top 10! I'm allergic to the green stuff, but I still like living here :). We don't have hurricanes, or bugs that "splat" when you smoosh them lol... they're more crunchy. Plus... the fam and I live close enough to the mountains that we can take the dogs up to explore the trails often :)
I live in Tennessee but my family is from Mississippi and we go visit a few times a year. Maybe it's not great on paper, but the air is clean and the people are good. We were there for Thanksgiving and the front door was unlocked all day with neighbors and relatives coming in and out to visit a little while and have a slice of cake. That's sweet country living. If you're going rank MS low based on anything, it should be history. My family were slaves there just 5 generations ago. But they have owned land for the last 4 generations. And if you know anything about post-war Mississippi, you know that's quite an accomplishment 😊
I live in Ohio and contrary to popular belief we have some pretty cool things here: Kings Island, Cedar Point, Put In Bay, Columbus Zoo, Cincinnati Zoo, Ohio State Football, Old Man's Cave, are a couple of things we have to enjoy. Having said that, all of our States...even the one directly north of us have great things to see and enjoy!
Rock and roll hall of fame too. Not to mention several sports teams.

Definitely a lot to see and do here. The National Museum of the US Air Force, Amish Country, Easton Town Center, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and then there are all the pro sporting events to name a few more.
I had a great time at the Space Museum in Wapakoneta. I went there for my birthday one year ... which was also Neil Armstrong's birthday. And when I went to the zoo in Cleveland back in 2003, I ended up drawing a crowd as Leda the orangutan and I began spontaneously "communicating" through the glass -- she was curious what things I was carrying and "asked" for me to show them, one by one,. When she finished looking at an item we traded "thank you"/"you're welcome" facial expressions and then she'd motion to see the next one.

I live in Utah and it is pretty decent. The cost of living has gone up quite a lot the last five years and in the more rural counties wages have been slow in going up. There are a lot of jobs available. The scenery is beautiful.

I now live in Upstate NY. It's beautiful, rural and land cost is really affordable. I bought my 150 acres 20 years ago for 50K which is why I live here now instead of New England which is where my heart still lives (Born and raised there, a true blue New Englander). I've lived in VT, NH, MA and Maine in New England and CA, WA, GA and FL outside of New England and always kept moving back to the North East. You really cannot go wrong with those New England states! I am surprised that Vermont and Maine were not higher on the list.

I live in the middle of Nebraska in a very rural area. Most people think the whole state is flat because they only travel on I-80 through the state. But it's geographically diversified. It's elevation goes from 840 feet to 5424 feet. Although there are no mountains there are lots of hills and bad lands and more miles of rivers than any other state in the US. Even though my husband and I grew up in another state we are proud to claim Nebraska as our home!

I’ve lived in Utah for many years and love it. There are lots of job opportunities, low poverty rate, great education, probably the best state to raise kids in my opinion and if you’re an outdoorsy person there is a ton of great hikes and stunning views. From the southern Utah desert to the beautiful snowy mountains Utah has a lot to offer.

I’m from West Valley and you couldn’t pay me to move back to that region, but I still live in Utah and only go to Salt Lake or Provo maybe 3 times a year for doctors appointments. Now I’m not saying we have no problems rurally since everywhere has something you can complain about, but there’s 29 counties in Utah and those issues exist in 4 counties other than the earthquakes. We’re not exactly Los Angeles with the earthquakes either, my parents are in their 60’s and have only been through 2.
Also the lake is refilling rapidly, we’re always on a 6-8 year drought cycle like most western states.

Utahn Here! It's far from perfect (as every state is), but it's the #1 economy because its very friendly to tech businesses. Some of the fastest growing and most successful companies have come out of Utah in recent years. There's also an amazing artists culture, (Imagine Dragons, and Neon Trees came out of Utah). Despite it growing like crazy, its one of the nations best kept secrets.

New Hampshire also has both coastline and mountains within a 3 hour drive. New Hampshire has NO STATE SALES TAX and NO STATE INCOME TAX. And you can DRIVE to the top of Mount Washington on the Auto Road, or take the scenic Cog Railway to the top. At the top is the Visitors Center with a restaurant, gift shop, and the Observatory. The fastest wind gust in the world was recorded there in the 1940's at 237 miles per hour.
Utah here! Absolutely love it. Skiing in the Northern part of the state. Beautiful national parks in the southern half of the state! Great economy, schools, and healthcare. Absolutely love it here!

As far as New York is concerned. The area right above New York City the Hudson Valley area is expensive. However it's a pretty large state and the rest of it is cheaper than that area. Our taxes are ridiculous though in my opinion. I live close to the complete other end of the state. New York is a beautiful state.
Louisiana people have been friendly every time I’ve been there and the food is excellent. So, even number 50 rocks!
I'm another Utahn, It's super topographically diverse. I can experience everything from dense pine forests to pink-red deserts without leaving the state or sometimes in my own case the county. I can experience 112 degrees F in July and -15 degrees F in January without driving for more than 6 hours or leaving the state, also both of those locations are technically deserts. There's a small history museum for basically every town you come to and in it, you will find some volunteers waiting to show you the town's first X-ray machine(I've seen one of these in more than 4 little town museums all over Utah) and other similar items. History is all around us and we take the time to preserve it from prehistory to the 1940's there's some kind of a sign to tell you about the place you're standing in.

I was born and raised in Indiana, living there most of my life. When my husband retired and I became disabled, we moved to the mountains of Tennessee. It has more plusses than minuses. No income tax, cheaper all around taxes, except for food, but no state income tax!... So it equals out. The high prices for healthcare and medicines are making it's way here, making it tough for our community. I live in the mountains in a Tourist's town, nearest box store city is 30 miles away. The view from my house is beautiful! Very relaxing.

I've lived in or traveled to many of the states. There's something excellent about all of them. I recommend seeing them all.
As a person from Michigan, I love our state. We have the UP and the Great Lakes and some of the best hunting and fishing in the country to go along with those. Minnesota may have 14000 puddles, but we have the most true lakes.
Massachusetts here! Boston is wonderful…a very walkable city with some of the best hospitals and colleges. Everybody loves Cape Cod (for the lovely beaches and quaint Cape Cod homes) and the Berkshires (with its natural beauty). You can easily drive to all the other New England states to enjoy the beaches and state parks in Maine, the beautiful greenery and hills of Vermont, the incredible mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, and, of course, the beaches and state parks in New Hampshire. I can’t imagine living anywhere else!
In 2006, I was referred by my primary Doctor to go to Boston General for surgery to remove a lump in my left ankle, when I woke up, the Surgeon said the lump was a tumor and it would take 2 weeks to get results for a test for cancer, two days after I got a call, they said when the cut the tumor in half, there was 4 other kinds of tumors and it would be 10 weeks to get the results for all the tests, I would have never got a call from any hospital in Vermont about the extra 8 weeks for the results.

Connecticut, Your NZ family, is called the pass through state, because people are ready to visit New York, then Boston. Connecticut has history and the best museum is Yale's Peabody Museum, but there's museums for clocks, railroads, submarines, Merry go rounds plus food is great (lobster rolls, pizzas, hamburgers, ice cream, hot dogs (the best places for hot dogs are on the side of the road out of Airstream trailers, or hot dog carts or from little shacks) or other foods. Connecticut has the oldest amusement park in the US.
When you visit, I'd recommend the Northeast. Sturbridge and Mystic are two living museums (they'll show life in the 1830s (Sturbridge a small farming town, Mystic a seaside town of the same time period). You would need to visit the US about 50 times to see every state...(That's why Americans don't visit other countries, we can't see our own countries in a day!)
Yes Sam, that lake was Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes. Several states don't have an income tax, but there is a federal income tax. I live in #4 Washington state. Although he wasn't harsh enough. The scenery is spectacular, but the crime is high, as are the taxes, cost of living and unemployment. It is also one of the more politically progressive states causing many citizens to want to move if they could afford to.
Politically corrupt, 2nd highest gas tax ( highest after Jan 1), highest property thefts and as far as the spectacular scenery goes good luck getting to any of them, the crowds anywhere on the west side are insane and parking is packed. You have to reserve camp spots 6 months to a year early, it wasn’t that long ago you could plan on a Thursday to go camping that weekend and have plenty of spots to choose from. People that have recently moved here like to say “people up here don’t know how to drive” and I always say if you pulled those people over and simply asked where they were from probably 70% would not say Washington State, so it’s you fools that don’t know how to drive, California has not only ruined that sewer they’ve ruined the entire left coast, from Montana East.
I’m one of those wanting to move but Idaho and Montana are over my budget now, rundown homes in western Montana are getting $600k+.

@@ninaddemaio i love jersey. just moved back to new brunswick, had been living in louisiana for a few years. two very different states but loved every second ive spent in both of them. jersey has all 4 seasons, jersey has beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers and forrests. jersey has some of the best food in the country. the only major downside is that the roads are so congested but what makes up for that is competant driving. nobody in louisiana can drive at all

Regarding Illinois, yes, that was a lake. Lake Michigan to be exact. The Great Lakes system contains around 21% of the world’s fresh water. Lake Superior is the world’s largest fresh water lake by surface area. I believe Lake Baikul (sp?) in Siberia is largest by volume because it is stupid-deep. Lake Superior gets pretty deep too, with a maximum depth of over 1000 feet. When you stand next to Lake Michigan or Lake Superior, it feels as if you are standing next to an ocean.

I’m from MN and as a teen was a distance swimmer so strong and confident in my water skills. Made a huge mistake and jumped off a rock into Lake Superior in September on the North Shore. Hot the water and immediately couldn’t use my legs because the water was so cold. I remember thinking I was going to drown in the shallows 5’ from lamd. Terrifying. My Dad dragged me out and reminded me I can be an idiot. He was right

I’m from Washington State and Utah, and I love them both. Washington is only really rainy in the west. In central WA it got up to 47.2c degrees here one summer. The scenery is really diverse. We have mountains, oceans, lakes, rainforest, forests, deserts, and vineyards. We also pay well and have no state income tax. We do have a meth problem and expenses are going through the roof. People can be kinda unfriendly here. Utah is beautiful with better job opportunities and the people are really nice. It’s not very diverse though.
i live in wyoming. in the northern (and east/central) part of the state. it's so beautiful. i was born in the south and in many ways it is still home to me :) i have traveled to many of our 50 states and find a certain charm in each one. friendly people can find other friendly people anywhere! but wyoming is home now for 40 years of my life and i wouldn't change that. come on over and enjoy yourselves! it has a wonderful laid back feel to it ...... probably that mountain air ....... in some ways the old west still lives on in wyoming!
I’m originally from NH, lived there my first 18 years of life! I’ve since lived in Japan, Ohio, Florida, and Texas and visited several other states. I can say for sure Maryland, New Hampshire and Maine are my favorite states 😊. Highly recommend the visit to NH and ME, you could do Mass, Nh, & ME all in one trip as they’re geographically very close! I lived in Massachussets for the first 41 years of my life, just north of Boston. Living in New England was so cool because of all the different awesome states that are only an hour or so drive away. Vermont has always been my personal favorite, even since I was a 4 year old :) But I guessed the winner would be New Hampshire. Mountains to one side, beaches to the other, and beautiful scenery everywhere.
I also live in NH and i still do its so beautiful and there is so much to do and the big white building with the red roof is called the red jacket its in North Conway NH i been there it has a indoor water park that you can have so much fun in but in April there was a giant fire on the side of the building but sense its been restored. Its also so funny how you mentioned something about 603 my friend put 603 on every thing his gmail has 603 his password has 603 and you can see in his signature that he makes a little 603 at the end and for the people who dont know what 603 is its the three digits that we put in the beginning of our cell phone number. 😁

Grew up in NH and live in NM now, funny to see them on opposite sides of the count. Does not say how expensive it is to live in Nh though.
Was born and raised in NH the first 35 years of my life. Moved to Texas but when I finally retire I will move back to NH for the remainder of my life. The small towns are pretty safe. A murder happened a about 1 year before I left. It was the first murder in the 8-9 town area in 20 years.

I've lived in several parts of Utah for about 35 of my 46 years alive, and traveled all over the western US. If you ever make a visit here, I highly recommend coming between Autumn equinox and the first week of October. Overall, that's the best weather, and most spectacular fall foliage (peak colors typically last few days in September). And if you decide to come in the next year, HMU. I can give your family a full guided tour that takes about 10 days, that will also cover bits of Arizona and Nevada, as well.

I live in Washington. The nature here is incredible. Even in the city I live in it practically feels like living in a forest. There are hiking trails everywhere. In the summer there are an abundance of lakes to swim in, and in the winter we are within driving distance to numerous mountains for skiing. The west coast of the state is sprawling with vibrant rain forests and experiences temperate seasons due to being sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the cascade mountain range. However, don’t be fooled into thinking all of Washington is the Gray skies and wet air of Seattle. The cascade mountains cut the east and west side of the state and half. everything east of the mountains is dry, blue skies.

As a proud born and bred New Hampshrite (who is not biased at all haha) I totally concur with our number one status. Actually, you can't go wrong with any of the New England states. I've traveled all over the US and there is nowhere else I would want to live. What I love best about NH is that I live in a small city of around 30,000 people, but it's like I live in the country. My house is surrounded by woods and wildlife and I only have a neighbor on one side. There are mountains, lakes and the ocean and Boston is less than an hour away (Montreal, Canada only a little over 3 hours). Love to spend the day in Boston, but always leave with a sense of relief knowing I am going home to my quiet little town. I will give a shout out to Maine, though. We spend our summers on the coast of Maine and we absolutely love it!
I lived in Hampton Beach in the late 90’s,1999, and it was a blast. I was only there for the summer but we had so much fun there. I love Boston,one of my favorite cities and I’ve lived all over the world. I miss the New England food.

I have to say Michigan is HIGHLY underrated. The reputation and perception of Detroit seems to bring our state down on a lot of lists. But northern and West Michigan more than make up for it. To the north is spacious beautiful sights and a different way of life. West Michigan has Lake Michigan, tons of beaches and sights and things to do also. Small towns are great all throughout the state. My opinion only, of course. Go Blue!
Yes, MI is so underrated
Michigan is the best state. We have planes, mountains, rolling hills, and not to mention a state park around every corner. For the most part. The lake and rives are great. We also have the makanak bridge that lights up beautifully and all the amazing other sights. I almost forgot to mention Michigan Adventures. In spring, summer, and fall, Michigan is the best. We even have hell, and yes, it does freeze over every year. The cherry festival and the apple harvest are also some fun events. Plus, we have frankenmuth an old-fashioned german town with some of the best food and drinks. This is my opinion, obviously, but I happen to be a trucker who has been to half the states. It ok if you don't agree with me I have a bias because I live here. Just stay away from Detroit and Flint . If you find yourselves in either leave and if you're in flint in particular under no circumstances, should you ever drink the tap water. They still have not fixed the lead water problem. All who have made it the far into my ramblings of my home state, thank you, and have an amazing week.
Actually, Detroit is really on a comeback. If you use common sense, you can be safe going around downtown. Lots of great restaurants, Detroit Institute of Arts and Historical Museum, the Detroit waterfront has been voted several times the best in the country!!! Something for everyone in Michigan!!!!

I have worked all over the country and Michigan was one of my favorite places, I was around Grand Rapids and thought it was beautiful and loved the people.

I live in Florida but love the state of West Virginia. The people are very friendly and helpful and the scenery is beautiful and it is cheap to live there and homes can be affordable with land. I also love the small back towns.
I lived in Utah 15 years and it was a very pleasant place to live in, and excellent snow skiing, but some winters were brutal.
Wisconsin here but for my job over 12 years I worked in 47 states on government jobs. This allowed me to visit many places see the cost of living based on food and hotel prices and gauge wages since my standard wage was based out of Wisconsin but if the area I worked had a higher wage I received that instead. Unless I was on the west coast or upper east coast I usually made more than the local wage. I can find nice things about every state but I personally I am not fond of the big cities.

Arizona - the heat is not that bad, just visit in Dec - Mar and enjoy the 70F / 21C sunny weather. NZ Family, if you ever make it to AZ ensure you check out the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It is an amazing world class park bringing in people from all over the world.
I don't live in Arizona but it's my favorite state after my own. The big negative is the summer heat, but Flagstaff is a wonderful place to visit. Lowell observatory, near the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater and the painted desert, etc. Eagle fans can also stand on a street corner in Winslow, AZ. Just be careful of snowstorms. Tombstone is south of Tucson, which is also very interesting, with an excellent nature museum.
I recently stumbled upon y'all. I am from Huntsville, Alabama, so I loved the shoutout. However, I live in Denver, Colorado, and I have to agree that he placed it well, seeing as crime has gone up quite a bit over the last few years. I have not been to Vermont or New Hampshire, but I will next month, and I cannot wait!
I live in WV. He was right about some of it. It’s Gorgeous here, the Seasons are Beautiful, but it has its problems. If you don’t work as a Coal Miner, or nurse or Teacher, you may want to rethink living here.
Visiting is great, and as a retirement state, it’s not bad either.

Maryland is awesome!! We're on the incredibly beautiful Chesapeake Bay and have amazing farmland, beaches, and mountains. If you visit "The Old Line State" (conveniently located in the middle of the East Coast) be sure to try some crabcakes and Berger's cookies. Stop in Ocean City to walk the boardwalk and grab a bucket of Thrasher's Fries. Enjoy the Amish markets and the charm of many small towns. 😊 I love something about every state I've visited. We are definitely a large melting pot!! 🇺🇸
Also called, “American In Miniature,” because nearly every type of terrain can be found here! We also enjoy the beauty of all 4 seasons, without any extreme weather.

I’ve recently discovered your channel and have been commenting. I have to say that you’ll want to visit Utah and spend time here focusing on both southern Utah, and northern separately. The southern half of the state has some of the most beautiful red rock formations in our many national parks, including delicate arch, which is a world famous formation, and is a wonderful, beautiful hike to go up and take a lot of photos. Northern Utah has more rocky and forested mountains and there’s a lot more green with lots of natural lakes where we love to spend our summers water skiing Northern Utah also has the highest concentration of snowboarding and ski resorts found anywhere giving us some of the most amazing year-round, outdoor activities and some of the most beautiful scenery. I highly recommend that you not only get familiar with Salt Lake City and its surrounding areas, but that you take a 30 minute drive up the canyon to Park city, Utah or some of the best skiing and snowboarding is as it is a small mountain town that used to be a silver mining town back in the 1800s, but has since become a scenic destination with lots of skiing and snowboarding during the winter but the Resorts also host mountain, biking, and hiking activities throughout the summer months.

Hey! Born and raised in Arkansas. We have amazing communities and help each other. Plus it’s a beautiful state.
Being in the military, I've gotten the opportunity to live in wide range of places.
I may be a little bias but Colorado is by far the best state I've called home. Grew up in Northern Colorado and took it for granted. The Rockies are beautiful year round and they push most the weather over and on to the plains. Colorado is also the healthiest state with plenty of people spending much of their free time outdoors. I will say now that I've traveled across the country and even been overseas to places like Japan and Singapore, Coloradans are not always the nicest people. The Rockies pull in a lot of tourism and with that also comes people moving to the state. This has shot up the cost of living and most Coloradans aren't afraid to voice their opinion on new residents and tourist.
Illinois was my second state to live in. Chicago is amazing! Great food, Great people, and Great sights. The autumn is breath taking. I've also spent a lot of time in Wisconsin while living in Illinois. Just as beautiful and the story book Red Barns are everywhere.
Some of my best memories come from my time spent in California. Lived in San Diego but drove all the way up to San Francisco a couple of times. The drivers here are literally trying to kill you and traffic is a mess everywhere! Not something you'd really think about but although the drivers in California are aggressive, They aren't bad. Most everyone drives the same so it's very predictable. I feel like LA gets a lot of attention and everything else is just kinda there with it. San Diego is amazing and the Central Valley is something you wouldn't think of when you hear California.
The last state I've called home and where I currently live is Hawaii. This state is so over hyped! I have nothing against Hawaii, but it's just so damn expensive and so far from the mainland. The locals aren't to keen of us on their island either. The beauty of this state though is memorizing. It's always warm and the water is incredibly blue. For someone who rides motorcycles, Hawaii is perfect in almost everyway, except all the potholes trying to kill you. The infrastructure in Hawaii is not great but Places like Honolulu and Waikiki, are perfectly walkable.
The U.S. is pretty everywhere you go. Each state is unique and the culture is rich. Illinois was the friendliest state, Hawaii the prettiest, and California the most fun. Overall though, nothing will ever beat Colorado for me.

AMAZING!!
Father was an Iron Worker/ Welder on the Needle.. Then there the Seattle Center and Marina to see, take a tour from the Seattle Docks, up and threw the Locks into Lake Washington and Back..

I live in Maryland. This state is very diverse. You can drive west and be in the mountains and drive east and be at the ocean and in between you have the wide-open farmlands to the historical cities. I live in Annapolis, the home of the U.S. Naval Acadamy, which is beautiful. I know they say Baltimore is a terrible city, but that is only a small part of the city. Downtown Baltimore is beautiful. Being just a few miles from D.C. is a plus too.
Hi. I'm born and raised in Connecticut. I have lived in my hometown just about my whole life, East Hartford. There is a wide variety of things to do here. We have lots of history and culture. Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe called our capital home. You can ski in the winter and go to the sheltered beaches of the Long Island Sound. Our forest state parks are beautiful. We have the oldest continuous operating amusement parks, Lake Compounce. And if you want to venture outside our boarders, we're perched between Boston and New York! Come visit, I'll show you my diverse and beautiful state.

As someone from Wisconsin, we take our beer and dairy very seriously here. On top of having 7 of the top 10 drunkest cities, we have 41 of the top 50 drunkest counties in the nation as well. You need a cheesemaker license here as well in order to make cheese
This made me laugh😂... we do undoubtedly have the best cheese. Our state is also beautiful especially in the summer time. If only we didn't have terrible winters lol. I'm not sure how Minnesota got ranked so far above Wisconsin, but that's okay. I love my Minnesota family 😂.
As someone who’s lived in California, Colorado and now Idaho, all three are great places to visit. CA isn’t affordable or very safe anymore, only family to visit. In Idaho, I’m not far from rivers and mountains, and I’m next to Utah and Wyoming for National Parks, if I want.

The history of Louisiana is so interesting, and the unique Cajun backgrounds of many residents cause some of the most interesting accents you'll ever hear because a lot of Louisianans are fluent in French! New Orleans is magical if you know where to go, and you'll meet some of the nicest people you'll ever meet!

We had a great time on vacation to New Orleans. Fav thing we did was a food tour. All the food was delicious, only one item I didn't like. Had the most amazing pork chops and a piece of pecan pie that I still dream about.
I've never lived there, but New Orleans is one of my favorite cities that I've visited.

I live in Michigan it has its down falls but the great lakes are worth coming to see trust me
Yes agreed. Our great lakes are more like fresh inland seas. People have no idea how big our lakes are until they see them in person
