Meh, I think you can divide the US into 3 (maybe 4) significant culture changes.
Culture is something that forms in thousands of years... On own land. Poor red indians...
i think the opposite. most of the states are irrelevant and not important. and are the same of each other

And as someone coming from a tiny little country it really amazes me how much diversity there is, I mean you can really find somewhere you can fit in with all those different states. I can only guess as an American that we're such a salad bowl of a country with so many things that we're just used to having so many different kinds of people. Most Americans alive today have grown up in circumstances where people from different backgrounds took part in their daily life. This is likely the case with other large countries, too, like Canada, Brazil, Russia, China, India, and perhaps Australia.

For people outside the US curious about Rhode Island, the island got it's name changed to Aquidneck Island. It was its own colony until it got merged with the Providence Plantations (which make up mode of the land). The state's full name is the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
Also it's kind of a running joke that everyone hates Rhode Island. It was founded by a guy who got exiled from Massachusetts. In 1643, a bunch colonies were coming together to defend against the Dutch and resolve internal disputes; Rhode Island applied to join and was unanimously rejected...even with the fear of war over people's heads.
Even though it was the first American colony to declare independence from the British, one of the delegates it had sent to a past congress was a British spy. Later, Rhode Island was the last of the 13 colonies to ratify the Constitution. When our first president George Washington did a tour around the country to celebrate his win, he refused to visit Rhode Island. In the 1840s, Rhode Island had a mini-Civil War where this guy declared himself governor, started losing, and then started recruiting people from New York.
Everybody hates Rhode Island.
Interesting and very cool.
I live in RI, and let me tell you,it has its ups and downs, but I certainly don't hate it.

As a Portland, OR resident (and native) I was worried about the commentary coming to Oregon, but you nailed it lol. Even nailed the crazy influx of transplants.
"It's also home to Fort Knox where we hide all our gold."
Dammit your not supposed to tell them that XD
Says West Virginia
COUNTY ROAAAAAAADS, TAKE ME HOMMMMMMMMME, TO THE PLACE, I BELOOOOOOOOOONNG
I go the horses in the back.
Never heard a more accurate description of Oregon in my life lol
Lol
my favorite state in us is texas much love from persia/iran
Love from the U.S. to Iran! Sadly our countries aren't on the best terms right now, but I've always wants to visit Iran, it's where my dad was born!
All he said about my state was "they have nothing going for them and family guy is there". Great, really great
What, are you going to deny it?
Actually, I'll extend an olive branch. Rhode Island has some of the greatest hot dogs I have ever tasted. But that's all I can say.
Detroit and Flint might have hit hard times but they don't represent the state of Michigan as a whole. We have craft beer brewing, tourism, natural resources, nature as a whole (lakes, forests, national/state parks, etc.) in addition to the auto industry. Also, Grand Rapids is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with one of the fastest growing job markets. And despite what people might think, downtown Detroit is actually making a comeback with a boom in businesses relocating there, all 4 major sports teams actually being in the city (instead of Pontiac or Auburn Hills), and a massive influx of recent college grads coming to the area.. Michigan might have had a rough decade or so, but it is far from a desolate wasteland.
Even metro Detroit has affluent neighborhoods. Having lived in Michigan for 5 years, you're right, the state has so much to offer more than Detroit itself.
Andrew Stockwell
I also hear that there was werewolf sightings in the forests of Michigan.
LOVE your channel, use many of your videos in our online content. It is absolutely fantastic, TOP VIDEOS. Thank you for making them all!

Go to flagstaff and you’ll see snow in winter-
I live in the desert side tho
As a fellow Nevadan, I can 100% confirm that we’re like California’s drunk girlfriend and Las Vegas is pretty much the only thing we’ve got going for us
Pretty much. You have two pockets of populations that couldn’t be any farther apart or more different from each other and the rest is empty desert and government land. And possibly aliens.

Listen here, I'm a resident of Georgia and I'd like to correct a couple of things. One: The Confederacy started in South Carolina. Two: Little Miss Beauty Pagents, while still a thing, are quickly dieing out here in Georgia, much to everyone's pleasure.
Philip Lathrop I do too. I'm a proud Georgian, but people always bring up what happened in the past, of course.
+Hannah i think you guys should keep your southern identity! it's really charming(coming from an irish guy)loo
Watchin this video now when it was uploaded 5 years ago, then i realized it's 2022 now😭I'm still stuck in 2020 summer🥲missed this during quarantine😂💀
One cool thing I found when I had to drive through Nebraska a couple years ago was the Sand Hills. Looking to every horizon just hundreds of hills. It's very cool looking, looks like the Chocolate Hills of the Philippines. It's surreal and made me like Nebraska. I thought Nebraska would just be a clone of Kansas and I was glad I was wrong.
Yep people think Nebraska is very flat, and it is if you are in the area that I-80 goes through, but seeing the Sandhills are something else
For your non-US viewers, it'd have been more helpful if you did it with a map. I'm from India and had a little difficulty placing each state at their respective positions. Wonderful video though:)
Bro check the Pol map.
From India here
Indeed it would've.
It’s hard to list states in alphabetical order because they are nowhere near one another. It would be better to go from left to right or vice Versa! :)
That was my first thought too. As an American who watches Geography Now, I'm the type of person who knows the location of every U.S. state. But most Americans do not, and I wouldn't think international viewers would know many state locations apart from the most prominent ones.

Boo. I don't understand why they don't take a handful of those little Northeastern states and just make one regular sized State called New England. I mean if they are so small they have to share a football team, and other basic things that normal cities and states can support on their own, and they really need to gang together and be one regular sized state. They're too close together for there to be any significant difference between them. Of course I never would do that because every tiny piss ant State loves having their power in the Electoral College, so I guess large states like Texas and Kansas should split up into five or 6 so they can get proper representation for their regions, because the Northeast is extremely over-represented.
Dale Stafford Calm down
Woah cool, we're neighbors.
@@Jack_Stafford you're only thinking in terms of land mass. You're 100% ignorant about the history, culture, or hell, even the weather. We're not "piss ant" states. The southern states have high populations even. You are an ignorant bag of wind with a worthless opinion. Goodbye.
A helpful video. It's just wonderful to know something about every state.

I'd love to see a geography now video of indigenous tribes here in the US and their flags!
Oklahoma: Looks like it’s going to be a sunny day!
Storms out of nowhere: Sike!
Oklahoma:🤦♂️🤦♀️
yep, and storms cause the power to go out, this is why there's a lantern sitting on my desk :P
I’m from Oklahoma
It’s even funnier cause it’s true
The storms we have far here would scare anyone else and we just think it’s normal and chill lol
Potato Crossing yeah but Texas/Kansas/Oklahoma region gets the most tornadoes every year considering we’re right in the middle of tornado alley.

We got the largest army of the US, made out of seafood
With the one about Arkansas, that's were most of my family for a couple generations is from, and I can confirm the love of dogs. That part of the family will just walk up to a dog, and it WILL love them. It's almost scary sometimes, but that might just be that most are either ex-soldiers, hillbillies, or legally a witch. We don't talk about the ones in Louisiana, or Alabama for that matter.
Also when my grandfather first moved to Texas from Alabama, they put him in special ed because of how his accent made him sound. This man now has a phd and just retired from working in the medical field for over forty years.
3:40 "Literally the flattest state" Me as a Dutch: "you ain't seen nothing yet"
Jesse Kuiper The flattest state is actually Florida not Kansas. But yeah still nothing compared to the Nederlands Lots of other errors in this video too.
Jesse Kuiper actually Florida is flatter than the Netherlands
well, both Kansas and florida are larger than netherlands by size though
i'm just waiting until we sink, lol
No, Florida and the Netherlands are lower than Kansas, but Kansas is flatter. I grew up there. It has almost no hills, just sprawling, golden and green plains with a couple of trees.
I demand a better summary of Michigan
GraySquared it's kinda very anti climatic cause you expect some great thing but you know about every thing he said.
He only described southern Louisiana. He didn't even touch on the north
He described notable things and what can't to mind first for a bullet point summary
Don't get mad at him because your state sucks
Stein are you mental? "Your state sucks" Michigan is easily the best state and most beautiful and unique state out there NO question lol idiot.
Stein what the crap is your problem? have you ever even been to Michigan or outside of Detroit or even in the U.P. you really need to come to Michigan and go outside and see the wonderful outdoors.
Hey now, Michigan’s not that bad! Weird weather from the lakes, the lakes themselves, and joking (usually) feuds between the UP and LP. And Mackinac Island!
The book Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls takes place in Oklahoma not Arkansas. It was the first book I read. It made me cry. It made my mom cry. It would have made my dad cry but, he didn't read it.
I’m from Oregon and yes we do have great donuts.

Also, from Connecticut here & it's always funny to see how outsiders view. Being from the city, the image of suburbs, trees & nice neighborhoods is not what we associate with CT lol a lot of us only think of places like New Haven or Hartford when we think of what our home state is like
I think people always think of Manhattan and big cities when they think of NY but a lot of NY is rural and also Long Island is beaches and villages
People from Wisconsin are literally the nicest people. Indiana too, and Minnesota. The Midwest has a lot of friendly people.
WizardToby especially Chicago
Alex The Chicagoan mmmmm, from Illinois, I don't know about that
Admiral Doge yeah Illinois gets hated on hard here in Wisconsin. Maybe if they drove better
Admiral Doge Chicagoans are known for being friendly, down to earth people, and from my 25 years of experience, I can confirm
Alex The Chicagoan this guy is 25 from Chicago. Looks like we found the white guy.
Carolinas needs more love...
North Carolina, where Michael Jordan was born and raised and folks love their college hoops.
South Carolina, definitely has as much history as Pennsylvania or Virginia. Charleston was super important during the revolutionary war and is where the Civil War started.
Matt Harrell exactly tho
I was hoping he would mention the debate on the wright brothers
North Carolina were first in flight but the brother were born on Ohio
