Itz crazy how as a whole song it sounds “Prince Perfrct” but hearing the individual tracks with their individual imperfections is what makes it shine even greater in retrospect.
This shows what kind of producer Prince was. He didn't just perform. He executed a complete vision. He didn't have a team of writers and producers. This is why he seemed to have never be finished with some songs and went back to revise them. There was always SOMETHING in his head/heart trying to come out.
Dude, I had no idea it had that much hidden in it. I knew it was full, but wow! What a genius! I got to shake hands and say "hey" to Prince after a concert in 2004, I'll never forget it. One of the all-time greats. Great video!
@@luffegun I wish you could too! Amazing how it all fits together to make such an amazing experience. Just his vocals alone are next level, but the guitars and effects are incredible. Such a treat to get to hear them individually.
Very very cool. In case you didn't know, the "long" version is actually the proper/full version, all the other versions (single & LP) are edits. Regarding the vault - Prince said that he knew it would be released and was fine with it. He just knew that he wasn't going to be the one to release it, so don't feel bad - Enjoy it and feel thankful! (Obviously it's not the best way to be able to get access but that's life/death!) 🙂
As a massive Prince fan myself, I’ve heard this extended version a million times. Playing around with any one of his songs in this way would be like heaven to me.
Hell yeah Kevin! it was a bastard to get through the censors though it sat unpublished for over a month waiting for approval! I love Prince i wish i could get my hands on more multitracks,
Oh my God man! This made me so happy, I felt just like you did. Hearing Wendy & Lisa’s harmonies isolated, and Prince’s lead vocals alone for the 1st time, I had a perma-grin the whole video. I didn’t know this was out there. Thanks for sharing man!
Yes, there is a shot of him stomping the keyboard with his feet in the movie, but the track in that section is him playing with his hands; he's playing stride piano with the left hand doing the classic bass notes-chord back and forth and the right hand playing large cluster chords on top. the kick is, the notes are nonsense: he's "going crazy" on the piano.
Wow, that was awesome, thank u for breaking it down. I love Prince, he is my fav artist and musician of all time. If u can do Alphabet Street, I've heard is has 3 bass tracks in that one song!
Anybody have all the separate tracks available? All I can find is videos of people analyzing and talking about them. I just want to listen and analyze them for myself.
Prince did all the instruments on the studio recordings. The only non studio recording is the song Purple Rain, which was recorded when performed live.
This was a wonderful video, and there was so much to enjoy. But to me, by far, the funniest part was watching your slow path to acceptance on the part of the copyright strike 😅. The video began with you, in earnest, trying to carefully navigate this track and do your best to show off the intricacies while maintaining your stream. And by 33 minutes into the video, here, you’ve finally given in and say go ahead and get in now before we get struck - as if it is now an inevitability. And you continued to show off the tracks regardless! Respect. 🫡

I remember the first time I heard this track by track and it blew my mind. I cried, honestly, especially when the isolated vocals happened. Brilliant.

When Prince says "He's coming" he means Christ
That De-elevator part. Especially the deep growling/distorted sound as it’s being said is to emulate who the De-elevator is….the Evil One.
Pills and thrills and daffodils…
...will kill--yeah, those lyrics were easily heard without multitracks
It's actually "won't cure". His delivery makes it sound like "won't kill".
This is hands-down the best multitrack channel that I've ever seen on UA-cam. Instantly subscribed. Kudos mate!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m so glad you got as much from this as I did! :)

This extended version is used for the opening of the movie. The wild piano part is when he is playing with his feet in the video.

This is the full 12 inch single track. I wish I had these tracks. Thank you for demonstrating.
Thanks for checking it out! :)
There's a lot of these noises I very much have isolated from just listening to the song 1,999 times, BUT this video is incredible!
Anybody have all the separate tracks available? All I can find is videos of people analyzing and talking about them. I just want to listen and analyze them for myself.
GENIUS
The third guitar is from Wendy the first and second guitars are from Prince.
Very interesting vocals , love ur commentary
OMG!!! That was dope!!!
Thanks Hakim! theres 70 of these type of videos on my channel now! pop over and sub to keep up to date. you might find more stuff you like!
The change at 10:41 is in the movie and it's also on the 12" maxi single
Wow, U broke it all the way down
this was a really personal one for me. i saw Purple rain when i was a kid and I've never been the same since. thanks for coming along on the ride.
AWESOME.
SupaDupa fly. Maad nice bruh!
Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill. Daffodils, when consumed are poisonous.
starting at 33:05 🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯the extended versions are top notch for me!!

Let’s Go Crazy was build on a live recording. You can hear it in the background of the cymbals track.
"Pills & Thrillers and daffodils, well girl, Act Up Children"
I always heard "pills and thrills and daffodils will kill; hang tough children" even before the isolation.
Good job, you only have another 1300 Prince songs to go! :)
Rip prince
Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill, hang tough children.
you can hear what sounds like “ let’s pretend we’re married “ 4:25
Thought I heard a little Sesame Street in there though. Am I buggin?
Pills and thrills and daffodils wake up children
36:32
link for the multitracks ?
How does that work?
I want to be able to do this to his music at home
VERY INTERESTING…how he records
What is being played during that crazy piano part? Does anyone know?
Do you know where I can find these parts?
Do you still need ???
@@SCRATCH574 yeah
Can you pleeeeease send these to me? I teach audio production and it would be great for students to learn from this.
Were can I get this?!
I'm surprised how little bass there is
He removed the bass completely in when doves cry.
@@ppm2 we know
There's plenty of bass, in fact an full bass track. It's just that the bass is run through a distortion pedal making it sound like a guitar track.
Where could I get a copy of this file ??
Where do you get the isolated tracks ?
