Prince's guitar cadenza on Let's Go Crazy is one of the greatest rock guitar solos of all time. It's up there with Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower, Kossof's All Right Now, Van Halen's Push Comes To Shove and my solo on Free Bruno Powroznik ;-)
I deeply love any guitar teacher who actually acknowledges that not every note was intentional and that learning the base structure is whats important.
I never hear this solo discussed much around other guitarist but I think it’s partly why I picked up a guitar to begin with. I saw this movie as a kid in the theater and my jaw was on the floor at the end of this solo. I was like, “what the hell did I just hear/see?”. One of the coolest in my book.
I knew if I waited long enough a guitar hero would put up a worthy tutorial. Danny you are the best teacher on the internet. I've seen Prince perform many times. He is a genius. You did him justice. Rock on brother! Liked and subscribed😄
Amazing stuff, Danny - you really make those phrases sing. With those stems, it's like you been given sight of the ancient texts, and have brought back what you have learned to us mere mortals. :D
Great skills, Danny! Thanks for making the tutorial. That’s my weekend sorted to give this a rattle! I had the privilege of seeing the man himself perform this track on his yellow cloud guitar in 1992 in Dublin from the front row of the audience. What a show!
It's going well! I have the e blues run pretty solid and have been working on the F#m pentatonic. Definitely tricky but I'm getting there slowly. The end of that section where he runs down the scale is crazy @@dannyeddyguitar

Fantastic skills Danny, definitely helped expand my knowledge more on this amazing track. Great video That last part of the solo The C#/D/D# is actually from one of his earlier songs called temptation check it out. It's the same little bluesy phrasing

Thanks Mike. Yeah, I think there's some Venn diagram crossover in their fan bases for sure! In fact, there are some decidedly Zappaesque moments throughout Prince's catalogue. Just flashes here and there - perhaps coincidental. But I like to imagine Prince was soaking up Frank's ideas.
@@dannyeddyguitar I read recently that Wendy grew up listening to Zappa, amongst obviously other things, and she may have also turned Prince on to his music besides the often mentioned Led Zep and Beatles.
First: thank you a lot. Great work! Since I'm just starting to explore this kind of solo's and I am a 0,010 / 0,011 player ... what is the gauge you are playing with?
Thank you for this. It's fantastic, & it's also fascinating that you were able to access the Isolated tracks. Is there any way to share the the actual Isolated tracks of these outro solos?

Hi Danny Eddy, great lesson! Would you be able to share what pedals and amplifier were used for your lesson. Love the sound - sounds just like prince. Thanks
Right?! It's a combination of his technique/pick noise, effects, the fact that it was (apparently) slowed down... So hard to hear exactly what's going on in there!

No, original key (G flat is the same as F#)
