Nice Ride! I noticed in your video that you said you went 1" wider than stock (7.5" to 8.5"). Everything I see online says the stock TRD wheel width is 7" , making 1" wider, and 8.0" install. I'm on the cusp of ordering wheels & tires for a 2022, based on yours looking perfect. If you could confirm the 8.5", that would be much appreciated. thanks !
I believe that the TRD pro wheels are actually only 7 inches wide. At the same time the TRD off-road wheels which were the stock on mine were 7.5. These are definitely 8.5 that I put on though/ with 0 offset. Sorry about the delay in the reply.

Anyone know if the stock 265/70 wheels would rub if you get these wheels with the -12 offset. I don’t have a lift right now but might get it done in the future. Thanks
It will rub. If you turn to full lock and look at clearance the -12 with 8.5” wide wheels will add 1 1/2 inches to the outside edge of your stock setup
The -12 would look great but you’d at least have to remove mud flaps even with stock size all terrains. With level kit or more lift you might be ok though.
@@RCGJR_ it did not rub combined with my 3" lift from OME. Once I put on JBA high caster UCAs it did rub a little but I got the alignment shop to push to 4.0 and 4.1 degrees of caster and it stopped rubbing. I refused to take off my mud flaps.
Good morning Rusty! I’m curious to know if those gunmetal wheels appear lighter in the video than in person. What’s your opinion? I also have a white 4runner and interested in gunmetal or matte black.
I ordered these … 12X1.5 EXTENDED THREAD / ET (SET OF 24) As per note on RRW website * It's a known issue that the Tacoma, 4Runner, and GX have short wheel studs. Upgrading to aftermarket wheels causes the lug seating to change to a conical seating, which then results in less thread engagement than what the factory wheels and lug nuts can obtain. The solution is to use our compatible ET (extended thread) lug nuts. The shank of the lug nuts fit snugly into the wheel's lughole, resulting in more thread engagement and a better peace of mind.

Matthew Elkins they are 12mm x 1.5 , I just did a quick search on Amazon and there are several. Don’t go with the cheap ones and also read in the reviews and make sure that they are fitting on 4Runner but I checked a few reviews and that’s the size.
Project 4Runner thanks Rusty! I saw that also, and the variations of diameter/length are throwing me off. I’m trying to find out how long the ones on your truck are, and their diameter too. Evidently, some of the reviews stated they bought them and they ended up being too short for aftermarket wheels. There’s also “spline” option lugs. I bought these and many of them arrived with rusted threads and several were chipped/flaking. Definitely sent me used lugs 👎🏻
Project 4Runner well crap. Couldn’t attach a photo McGard 64015 in black is what I purchased on amazon. Dimensions were 1.45” overall length. 3/4” hex. Conical, and 12x1.5 thread size, of course.

Nice! I installed Dirty Life❤
Sweet ride and wheels!!!
Im confuse which to get. I like a little bit of offset, but is it bad?
Toyota did not intend for the 4Runner to have very big tires and a large negative offset. That being said I think that the zero offset is perfect.
Are the center caps included or did you have to add on the the purchase?
Looks great
Man you got birds in your garage😂
Like the wheels👍
I bought my first 1995 Toyota 4runner..im going with stock tiers..or what the manufacturers recommend. Micky Thomson from Wal-Mart $217.99 each (not cheap)
I measured my trd pro wheels and they are closer to 8 inches. I've heard on forums they are 7.7 inches dunno. I'm just reading my tape measure and is reading well past 7.7 inches and I measured my new 8.5inch rims and they measure closer to 9 inches. very confusing. There must be a offset measuring point or something going on.
@@DavidRamirez-fe5dd I have never actually measured them with a tape I just trusted the documentation on them. You probably need to measure to the insides of the beads not the outsides.
What lug nut brand did you go for your new wheels
Sorry don’t remember what brand. I didn’t know that the stock wouldn’t work until I took to my local shop and they ordered some got within a day. Just double check the size on RRW website and if they’re sold out hunt down that size elsewhere. Good luck!
Any update?
Anyone know if the stock 265/70 wheels would rub if you get these wheels with the -12 offset. I don’t have a lift right now but might get it done in the future. Thanks
It will rub. If you turn to full lock and look at clearance the -12 with 8.5” wide wheels will add 1 1/2 inches to the outside edge of your stock setup
So it looks like the 265 -12 offset would be flash.. sweet rims though Im stickin to 265 too
The -12 would look great but you’d at least have to remove mud flaps even with stock size all terrains. With level kit or more lift you might be ok though.
Those are super sexy, I did the ProComp Vertigo wheels with -6, I find the style is pretty similar to yours.
guitarguy092 any rubbing issues with your tire/wheel setup?
Any rubbing with negative off set?
@@RCGJR_ it did not rub combined with my 3" lift from OME. Once I put on JBA high caster UCAs it did rub a little but I got the alignment shop to push to 4.0 and 4.1 degrees of caster and it stopped rubbing. I refused to take off my mud flaps.
@@guitarguy764 oh you got a lift, i was asking from a stock owner 😂 i guess 0 for me, no lift just yet, just in the near future.
@@RCGJR_ My tires are 285/70r17 (32.7") so thats a big reason for the rubbing. With stock wheel size it still might work for you.
Good morning Rusty! I’m curious to know if those gunmetal wheels appear lighter in the video than in person. What’s your opinion? I also have a white 4runner and interested in gunmetal or matte black.
They may look a tad bit lighter in the video because of the lighting. I definitely recommend the gunmetal no regrets here!!! Good Luck!
trying to buy these rims. Is "RR5-S 17x8.5 (6x5.5 / 6x139.7) HUB-CENTRIC / Toyota Spec" The model you purchased? Thanks for the help
Yes 0 offset!! Enjoy
What size are your tires? 17in or 20in?
265/70/17 (stock size)
is it safe even the Tire are spread because of the wide Rims 8.5"?
Just ordered the same wheel in all black for my 2020 ORP 4R, did you buy longer lug nuts ?
The stock Lugnuts definitely won’t work. I don’t remember the ones that you need but they are somewhere in this comment section
You can find the lugs on the RRW website although usually sold out
I ordered these …
12X1.5 EXTENDED THREAD / ET (SET OF 24) As per note on RRW website
* It's a known issue that the Tacoma, 4Runner, and GX have short wheel studs.
How do they look?!
@@project4runner420 Don’t have them yet, waiting for Fed Ex to deliver.
Nice build I have a Tacoma and I like those stock wheels u took off the 4 runner do u know how wide they are
17x7.5
did you find with the zero offset it threw any rocks up on the side of the 4runner?
Love the Trump sticker and Infowars bin 👌🏻
saw sticker , wrote comment , stopped watching . grooooosssseeeeee.........( nice wheels though ;)
@@DaSimSimma cool story bro.
@@mtfishingwizard jesus christ you trumpers are some gross a$$ people...it ain't even politics , you're just ... gross
@@mtfishingwizard hey bud. Just checking in . Everything cool? Working out still ? Gotta keep on those triceps man. Nothing worth while ever came easy
Trump doesn’t like foreign vehicles, sell the runner and get a jeep!
So you're running 265 size tire for that AT. My question is are you running a lift? If not then thats dope.
No Lift yet. Thanks
265 are stock size. You should be fine running any kind of 265 tire on a 4runner.
Ahh man choo
What about tire size 275 will it rub?
What about sr5 I think trd front are higher than sr5?
Trd Pro is 1” higher up front. Trd off-road is same as sr5.
Thanks
Damn, that thing looks so good. Except that bird shit on your side windows. ;)
Looks good!
Rusty...I love these wheels RRW is sold out but I have found some on Ebay...with 28 offset...what does this mean
Not sure. I only know of them coming in zero or -12 offset. Are they the 17”x8.5” size with six Lugs?
Dude I just went on their website needs exact wheels are in stock and ready to ship.

For some reason that link that I gave you is for the Ford Ranger wheels but I am pretty sure that the 4Runner ones are in stock and ready to ship. Good luck!
Project 4Runner ...Rusty...would the Ford wheel work on the 4Runner...the 4runner wheels are sold out on 0.0 off set....
Myles Folger I don’t think so. Have you tried emailing RRW?If I recall they were pretty good about getting back quickly. Good luck!
Hey, I’m looking for a set of the rims you took off. Do you want to sell them?
I wouldn’t sell them for much less than you can find brand new online. Then Shipping is expensive. Good luck!
Alright, cool. I think you are in Florida and I’m in Florida, I just thought we could do something. Thank you
That old will look good on my truck
Where did you find those wheels I looked them up on their website and and can’t find them?

whats the load rate on the tire
c, e???
Not sure you’ll have to check their website.
Getting those wheels too but for my Rav4 2021 hybrid in grey. Do you think gun metal would suit better than black wheels on dark grey RAV4? Thanks in advance!
So you did no lift on them or anything to get them to fit without rub?
No lift and no rub. It’s close though at full turn.
Thank you. I’m gonna get rn same rims I think I really like them, what are the tires?
@@SnIpErBoY1264 just stock size BF K02. If you go bigger than that you will need a lift and possibly to do some trimming also remove the mudflaps on the front.
@@project4runner420 so stock size as in 265/70/17? Do you think 275 would fit with these wheels or would I rub?
@@SnIpErBoY1264 you might be ok. It would definitely rub though if you were at full turn and hit a bump.
Looks good.
Would the stock TRD pro 17 rims fit without rubing on stock tires?
Yes
Is everything with the suspension stock? Truck looks great! Just trying to figure out what it would take to get a trd off road stock to look like this.
Stock suspension, Stock size BF Goodrich K02, and these ☝🏼wheels in the zero offset. Also get the badging blackout kit from amazon(it seems expensive but it is totally worth it) best $70 I’ve spent. Hope that helps!
Also don’t forget the Gibson Catback exhaust with the big, black tip 😂
@@project4runner420 Haha that's fantastic. Thanks for the reply!
Did you have to lift or do anything suspension wise to fit these wheels or did you just have to switch them on no problems?
No lift yet! Just swap them out. The -12 offset would probably rub though without modifications.
@@project4runner420 nice thanks man. By the way im not sure if you mentioned it but what tires are you running
125ccMotoVlogger 265/70/17 stock size but K02.
@@project4runner420 thanks man
Nice build, would this work with a regular sr5?
Absolutely!
@@project4runner420 Hey man, are you sure the rims aren't RR5-(F). On their website, the RR5-S doesn't come with a (0) offset?
CorbyIzTrill that’s the new version which are forged(very nice)
@@project4runner420 Awesome! I was hoping I could bypass the forged ones and get the regular RR5-S. Very helpful man. Keep up the videos
CorbyIzTrill I’m actually considering upgrading to the forged myself. They are a little bit lighter and maybe more stout.
What type of Tire are you running with these and how is the sound on the road
Bf Goodrich KO2 (265/70/17)
Definitely a little bit of road noise but not bad for such an aggressive tread. Toyo just came out with a new all-terrain tire the open country AT3. They might be one step better than the BF good rich KO2 tires from what I’ve read.
Hey Rusty, I ordered those exact same wheels after watching your video here. So thanks ! The wheels just delivered yesterday and I’m having them installed this weekend.
Help a brother out - Which exact lug nuts did you buy, and where did you buy them from? I need to pick these same ones up, but need to know brand & size (part # if you have it would be awesome!).
Thanks for your help & advice !
I had mine installed at discount tire. They had to next day air order some for me so I really don’t know. Once I have time today I will try to track down the proper size and specs for you just by searching online.
Project 4Runner thanks man! Yea, if you find the particulars please let me know. I can’t find any that work perfectly.
Couldn’t attach a photo
McGard 64015 in black is what I purchased on amazon. Dimensions were 1.45” overall length. 3/4” hex. Conical, and 12x1.5 thread size, of course.
love the truck! love the rims! love the Trump stickers!
My Man LOL!
Do you still have your old wheels? wanna get rid of them? I'm interested.
I do have them, they’re in perfect condition.
I would consider selling them. Where are you located?
Project 4Runner I’m located in Texas.
Anthony Szeto I’m in Florida, not sure how we would even broker the deal. Also I wouldn’t part with them for less than $500. Cheers to Texas though I was born in Houston!!!

wheel and tires it cost for the set?
Great Looking 4Runner. Do these wheels fit the center bore just right or did you require rings. Thank you.
They are hub-centric spec’d just for your Toyota 😉
I believe that they also specify when you’re choosing options on your wheels. Hope that helps!
Project 4Runner , thank you for the reply. Did you get them right from the RRW website?
Howard Lee Yes, no middle man pretty good price. I believe it was free shipping also I couldn’t believe the price I got them for.
Project 4Runner, thank you for the reply. I will check them out.
Looks killer
At 8.5 wide with 0 offset, wouldn't they be a 4.75 bs? I know factory is 4.50. Stance looks nice.
Not sure, if I remember correctly backspacing these were the same as the factory wheels.
Factory has a different offset
Nice car ! Now go for exhaust
Thanks, It’s had a Gibson cat-back for almost a year😎
That is one loud ass bird. What is the wheel size on those rims? 265/65/17?
Lol Stock tire size
Gantry Crane 265/70/17
Why did they tell you it will look flush when your intention was to have them stick out?
I didn’t want them to stick out. If I wanted them out further I would’ve gotten the -12mm offset. I got the 0 offset. I’m thinking on a Tacoma they probably sit out further.
@@project4runner420 so if they're sticking out with 0 offset, would the 12mm still work with no rubbing issues?
Lee rX If you watched the video I actually put a straight edge to show you guys that they are a half inch in from the fender flare. I also stated that they were as close as you could be without rubbing with stock size tires. So I am assuming if they would have been the -12 mm offset which equates to almost a half inch further out that they would rub.
@@project4runner420 Got it, thanks!
I have pro comp rims with Toyo Open country ATs.
Very nice, I considered getting those same tires myself still may eventually.
It was a tough call for me but I love the highly aggressive look of the toyos. Rides excellent and I haven’t noticed any increased road noise.
Project 4Runner Oh btw my wheels are 17x8 -12 offset. I had to take off my front mud flaps and trim the fender liner. But it’s worth the aggressive look.
Alexander Estk I bet it looks sweet. I can’t wait to get a 3/2 Lift. Then I can consider the 285 c rated tires. The stock size tires aren’t wide enough for my wheels. Still looks good though. Cheers!
Does this set up work with a 2003??
I am pretty positive it does. I would email RRW get their contact info from their website. Good Luck!
If you get the -12 offset would it rub
I believe you are right my friend. I think I made the right choice getting the zero offset.
nice floor fan. nice wheels too! lol
so would the -12 offset have rubbed?
For sure, even with stock tire size.
Love the window sticker!
Thanks, very observant fellow patriot!
@@project4runner420 Nice video and truck. I have similar decals, but you need to correct your passenger flag. The stars are where the pole connects, and having them facing the rear implies running away from the fight, which we would never do.
Matthew Legere Good point! They don’t make this sticker in that direction lets just say I’m riding into battle while also watching my six. God bless!

Dan Serrano Haha, not in my town thankfully. I don’t shop at Wal-Mart or it may have happened already though 😂. Have a good day!

@@project4runner420 Did they need to be extended lugs? or just the normal 35mm (1.37in) good?
