- I really thought we could just show up early somewhere and I could practice a few photos of the sun before the eclipse started. The only thing we actually planned out was going to north beach, but once we saw the traffic on google maps, we knew it wasn't even worth going near there. Instead we found ourselves in a field out in Prince Edward County, attempting to beat the odds against the clouds.

Precisely the reason I decided to leave my camera gear behind and just enjoy the experience with family. We were lucky enough to see the full eclipse down at Port Dover, what an amazing experience it was, was able to click some half decent full eclipse picture using camera phone, that'll do fine for the memories. My eclipse was a bust. In central Ontario where I am there was too much cloud cover. Was out birding and got a bit dark but not enough to know there was an eclipse behind the clouds. Thanks for your videos. Informative and entertaining. Keep it up.
I've seen tons of awesome eclipse photos online, but I know a bunch of us missed out on seeing it directly because of clouds or where we were at. I’m super lucky I got to catch what I did and share it. Really glad you enjoy the videos!
Oh, I know this pain when things don't go quit right during the "moment" you need it to. I had to laugh when I saw you because the first thing my husband said, "That sounds just like you!" But what usually makes it worse is when he says, "I wouldn't have done that, or I would had practice prior!" lol! A Solar Eclipse is just one of those things you can't practice for. Anyway, glad you got to enjoy it and get some pictures. I have the exact same camera set up you do and I love it!
I''m almost glad I didn't try to practice before hand, because then I might have felt even more disappointed by the clouds haha! But I'm really glad I was able to step back and truly enjoy the moment, super cool experience! Thank you for commenting.
