    Yes! Absolutely agree with your opening comments. I don’t want to miss a second of this time of year, which makes it so hard to know where to go with limited time available. Doesn’t really matter, nature doesn’t disappoint in springtime 😁
    Beautiful video, you found the cutest subjects to photograph!

    The raccoons are adorable! Spring is my favorite season. I am fortunate to have a red-tailed hawk nest in my backyard, so I spent all spring photographing and filming the chick until it fledged! Maybe you will have better luck with the Osprey another day. I really enjoyed all the wildlife you captured!

      Having a red-tailed hawk nesting in your backyard must have been so much fun! I'm sure I'll have another chance with the ospreys. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment!

    What great photos! I'm working on my wildlife photography skills and what I great idea to do it in your 'backyard' as we have nature all around us. I recently got a Golden Eagle and Bald Eagle and was so excited because they have been on my bucket list forever! Glad I stumbled across your channel. Love how you put your video's together. Thanks for sharing your journey.

      Thank you so much! That's one of my favorite parts about wildlife photography-becoming more observant and discovering the incredible wildlife right in our backyards and local parks. Spotting a Golden Eagle and a Bald Eagle must have been an amazing experience! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the videos, and I appreciate you following my journey.

    Just beautiful. A 600/4.0 would be nice!?

      It's nice to have the option to pull back to 200mm and show more of the environment. But let's be honest, I'm usually zoomed in at 600mm, and an f/4 prime would be absolutely amazing! Haha. I'll definitely try one out someday when I get the opportunity to rent one.

    How do you rig up your PD strap while you wear your backpack so well. Any tips or tricks, it looks like you have pretty good mobility with it.

    • @CurtisSnapshot
      @CurtisSnapshot  4 місяці тому

      There are some little tricks that make it more comfortable. I put on the backpack first and tighten it securely. Then I wear the PD strap over the top so it doesn't get stuck behind any of the backpack straps. I "holster" my camera by tucking the tripod foot of the lens into my backpack's waist strap. This is the most helpful part because it takes the weight of the lens off my neck and shoulders and distributes it to my hips.

    What app do you use to see what wildlife is available in the area?

    • @CurtisSnapshot
      @CurtisSnapshot  3 місяці тому

      I use Merlin ID, it’s perfect for seeing what might be around you and identifying birds you don’t know yet, by sound or photo.
      The full apps name is “Merlin Bird Id by Cornell Lab”

    Hello, I watch your channel from Poland. I want to switch from Fuji to Sony. Which camera to choose for photographing animals, Sony a7IV or Sony a7CII. These cameras are in my price range, the a7IV is nice but the a7cII has the new AI focus, so I don't know what to choose. Kind regards.

    • @CurtisSnapshot
      @CurtisSnapshot  4 місяці тому +1

      That’s a really tough choice, I did some quick reading online and it sounds like the a7cii is a little more polished than the a7iv. It looks like that new AI autofocus system brings up the keeper rate of photos as well.
      The only downside I can see with the a7cii, might be the ergonomics. The camera body is a bit smaller in the hand, it might not feel as balanced with some telephoto lenses, and the view finder isn’t centred. One last possible con, is the lack of a joystick, I personally use it all the time on the a7iv to shift my focus box around the screen. But these might not be deal breakers for you.
      I don’t personally have any experience with the a7cii, but I hope the transition is smooth and which ever camera you end up with, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
      Thanks for commenting, cheers!
