Dope content!!!!! Just to Add Typical Pay for Healthcare CEO/C-Suite is usually higher than $153,000.00 a year . it falls actually between upper $ 175,000 - $450,000 a year depending on the mangnitude of the health care facility. typically for anyone to become a CEO of a Hospital they would have to have 5-7 years of either outpatient or in patient managerial experience along with first being apart of the C-suite team prior with 3 years of experience and the ability to sit for their FACHE exam in order to become a CEO of a hospital without having to be a MD. Most other learning institutions typically hire Medical Doctors or seasoned clinical personnel to take over the role provided the years of service in the health care executive branch. this doesnt mean that someone with an MBA cannot be a CEO of a hospital, however please keep in mind that it would have to be from a non-for profit , community or non-teaching hospital, which may put the yearly income around $175,000 a year or possibly less depending on the number of employee staff, location of the hospital, state, hospital Trauma level and the magnitude of your role as a CEO of the hospital, underneath the founders, owners and lead executive management that oversees the C-suite team and funds the hospital.
Congrats on the CCMA and your accomplishments. Amazing content of interest. I worked in healthcare for over 18 years. i can say it is a very self-less job in which is very accomplishing. Continue striving and hope to see you on the Administrator/Management end in the next two years before my departure from health care. I plan on a heavy retirment plan, into another line of career and business ownership.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been contemplating what my end goals are post MHA/MBA. Your video has given me insight into careers I never knew existed. I too feel hospital administrator is certainly an end goal for me as well. Best wishes to you and your future endeavors, thanks again for great content. 🙂
Thank you for providing such valuable information. I recently graduated a few months ago with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration. However, I lack any relevant experience in this field. Do you have any advice on where I need to start?
Can I ask right after college with a bachelor's in healthcare management what jobs are available with no experience & is there decent pay after you get a degree out college? Thanks love
that's totally understandable, it depends on what you are interested in, many would consider other alternatives such as, Big Pharmaceutical companies, Medical Sales, Computer science, Data , compliance. It all depends on what field of study you see yourself heavily involved in towards pursuing a management position within the healthcare industry.
Btw it's really hard to choose which one is better and worth it in the future MBA in healthcare or Mha. I'm in 12th grade now and after that, I have to choose the field to work in it so I'm confused about which one is better MBA or an MHA course I wanted to get jobs abroad so which is best for this like I wanted to do it in the USA or Germany which field helps me to get in aboard job opportunities most and which has like a little bit well-paid salary package please help me in it which one is better please
I don’t believe either one is better than the other. Both of these degrees encompass a lot of the same things, one is just hyper focused on healthcare and the other is more general. MBA or MHA is a personal preference, I think you just have to figure out what programs/institutions will support your goals to work abroad. Your discrepancy is between programs not degrees
Hi boo so do you mind mentioning how much you are getting paid now? When you were a new MA u said you were making 15 an hour so I’m curious where you are now if you don’t mind answering. If you do then just ignore. I love your content btw ❤
@@aniyah_nashee thanks boo because I am a new medical assistant making 19 an hour and was wondering if that was a good starting pay. Thanks for responding love 💕
So typically you have to work your way up from inside the company, meaning you will have to put YEARS of work in whilst in other management roles in the hospital before you can even be considered for a CEO spot. CEO positions are very interesting because most people don’t just leave that spot and if they do retire it takes years for them to be ready to pass it on. You would start with education, I’d say a masters at minimum. After that I would get as much leadership/supervisory experience as possible. Then if you can land a job in hospital management do extremely well at your job, learn as much as you can, continue growing into higher positions (CAO is directly underneath the CEO), and network throughout the course of several years. Hopefully after that you will be in a good spot to be considered for a CEO position. A doctorate degree may or may not be required depending on the organization. Traditionally, a person will almost never be hired into a CEO position through a job posting. It is typically passed down through a hospital management chain of command. I hope that helped!
I agree with Aniyah, COO /cheif operating Officers are directly underneath a CEO, however it requires 5-7 years of Director or management experience, 3 years on the C-suite team underneath the CEO as either Director of Material Management, Director of Compliance, Director of internal Revenue, Director of Health information management, Director of patient Outreach, director of Nursing( must be in charge of nursing with 8 years of nursing clinical experience) or 5-7 years of clinical operations experience in either in patient/outpatient with the following three years spent on the C-suite team with the ability to sit for your FACHE.
Ultimlately the decisison of who becomes a CEO of a hospital, falls underneath the share holders/Founders and upper excutive chair board of the hospital. The Cheif medical Officer of the hospital has to be usually in your corner. If you can sway votes based on your impact within the hospital and years of Health care exceutive experience and contributions, with a FACHE completed certification along with your master degree than your closer to getting the position than someone from the outside, also the head physicians of the hospital along with all upper management personnel have to be comfortable and confident with your leadership qualities in order for you to have an in.

Hospital Administrator is the Same as Healthcare Administrator the difference is just in the name, however its typically the same thing. A Administrator is typically a Director or manager of either inpatient or outpatient services. The thing to take away from this is the decision as to where an administrator decides to work , but management requirements of a Bachelors degree plus 3- 5 years of experience minimum plus additional certification required and management or supervisory experience. further qualifications are typically required when management decides to head towards C-suite opportunities where the need for an MBA,MHA,MPA,MPH is typically required, plus depending on the department, additonal allied healthcare credentials such as nursing , IT, OSHA, RHIT, Compliance, MD, or if outpatient a history of allied health care expeirence, such as LPN, EMT & Paramedic. With a history of direct patient care that puts you over the edge when it comes to qualifying for certain management/ Administrator positions , plus not limited to experience in billing and or clinical operations. Healthcare careers guru out!!!
Don’t forget the prison systems working in the prisons managing different regions. Its good money.

Same because I wanted to take that up or healthcare administration and I can’t seem to find out what the pay is
Are the salaries you listed for Texas or is it a general salary list?
I’m studying mbbs in Russia and I don’t want to continue the clinical side so is it applicable for me to take this program
