    The fabric I used in from the Anna Maria Horner Loominous line
    Materials
    1 yard of fabric
    scissors
    sewing machine
    coordinating thread
    Instructions
    -Lay fabric with the folded with the selvedge along the top. Make sure everything is lined up and trim the sides if needed.
    -Cut along the fold
    - Make sure right sides are together and line up the short sides of the fabric and sew with a 1/2 inch seam allowance
    -Place right sides together, match up the long sides and sew at 1/2 inch seam allowance
    -Turn scarf right side out
    - Match up seam right sides together and include the seam in the 1/2 inch seam going as far as you can until the scarf is bunched up. Go slow and make small adjustments.
    - Pull scarf out and sew a small seam along the opening after lining up the sides and finger pressing.
    - Done!

    So I decided to try making my own infinity scarf, and as a beginner sewer, I wanted something I could potentially learn to do myself, along with guidance from my mom. We looked up several patterns, and happened upon this one. It's done quite nicely, with clear, simple steps, and easy to follow!

    Nice video...use of a clueless sidekick is funny. Like the using 1 yd instead of the 1 1/2 -2 yards used by other infinity scarf suggestions. Can use serger. Folding in half with RS out is a bit fiddly. Could just leave wrong side out and pull out half the tube to match raw edge ends and sew leaving 2 inch opening to pull RS out and sew the 2 inch opening. Ironing helps

    Thankyou so much for this video! I’m completely new to machine sewing & wanted to start with a real easy project & thought of an apron, I guess that’s one of the first projects everyone thinks of but, im so excited to do this project first because it’s easier than an apron & I’ll enjoy wearing an infinity scarf much more! Lol!! 😂

    Melanie....could you also pull half through, making it like a tube, sew around and then turn it right side out?

    • @threaddysewist1750
      @threaddysewist1750 2 роки тому

      Yup...that way is easier! Of course leaving the open bit to be able to reach in and pull.

  • @frenchbreadbutter7009
    @frenchbreadbutter7009 5 років тому

    Another easy way is to sew the fat tube first, so repeat the first sew of the video twice for each end. Then when you have a fat tube fold in half to achieve the final width of the tube and sew all the way around leaving a whole to turn inside out. You can also add a zipper in the whole to create a secret pocket.

    cotton? mixed Material

    • @MelanieHam
      @MelanieHam  7 років тому +1

      This is 100% cotton, you can use lots of different material for this - just make sure that it's drapey and comfortable around your neck ;)

    Hi there! I'm new to your channel and to crocheting, like "I've never crocheted anything in my life" new to it! Anyways, I have a friend who knows I knit and wanted me to make her a hat. She sent me a pattern but it turns out to be a crochet pattern. So I've been trying to learn how to do it by watching TONS of UA-cam vids. Your channel rocks by the way. I am having a heck of a time though trying to do this pattern and I really want to do this for her. Would you consider making a tutorial video making the hat from the patter in the link below? I'd really really appreciate your help with this! Thanks for all you do and for such awesome content!!
