Thank you so much for watching +KC KEFFER!
Just made one for my mom. I want to keep it. Great tutorial. I was tempted to top stitch the opening but I was able to learn an invisible seam. I did go over half of that closure with a decorative stitch for security. But if you only do half and flip it over the seam won't show. This was easy and didn't take long.
Love the idea of the decorative stitch +SOULSTARBELLYDANCER7! So glad to hear that you had a great time with this project! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
+Shabby Fabrics Thanks so much. I made my 2nd scarf today! I also made the bib an bow. I do have trouble with diagonals and curves and place? And with points. Any tips other than pace and peace
+Shabby Fabrics I meant pace and practice.
Recently ordered several Seventh Heaven fat quarter bundles. LOVE the colors and fabric pattern combos! Couldn't decide which ones I wanted, so I ordered all the colors that caught my eye. I didn't realize that you had these bundles for the past 5+ years. Will be ordered more in the future. Thanks so much for your scarf tutorial, Jen. These fat quarters will make some beautiful Christmas presents for my friends back east. :-)

Great idea! I don't wear scarves anymore as they feel like they get in the way when doing things. i.e. closed in a drawer ... lol Yes, I have done this! But they would make a beautiful gifts for the people that do wear them. :)
Wardrobe issues happen to the best of us, Laurie Colombo! These are so much fun to make as gifts (and easy too)!!
I love this scarf and will get started making one tonight! Thanks for the great instructions. But, I have to know - where did you get a pink Featherweight? I can't take my eyes off it!
Good eye Betty Sweet! The adorable Featherweight has been restored and painted pink to look brand new but it is a pre-WWII machine! We love her and call her "strawberry Shortcake"!
Love these scarves! Thank you for taking your time and explaining the instructions on your videos. :-)
You are so, so welcome Tara Serrels! Thank you for watching and for leaving this kind comment!
Great easy tutorial thank you.
Thank you so much for watching!
There is a stitch called the invisible stitch that we quilters use. Look it up on youtube.
Thank you for sharing! - Morgan
Thanks! Love this.. Ps love the feather weight too! I have two of them...❤️
+Kathy Gray aren't they just the best machines?! Thank you so much for the love!
Thank you for another great tutorial!!
Thank YOU Spinquilter for taking the time to watch and for leaving a comment!
I so want your pink featherweight machine!!
Isn't that machine just gorgeous?! Thanks for watching!
Hi. I am enjoying your channel. I like this scarf. I have a question about a step. The step after sewing the long sides together you pulled an end through and matched the seams together. I am not sure how to do this step. Is there any way you can explain this step more? Thank you.
Hello! Thanks for asking for clarification there!
After you sew your long sides together, you're going to match up the two ends of that tube right sides together, feeding one end through the inside of the tube to the other end and matching those seams. You'll sew around the tube ends leaving a 3-4 inch opening so you can turn the scarf through.
Does that help clarify for you? Let me know, I'm always happy to help. - Morgan
Since you are using cotton fabric, are they meant to be used as ornamental anytime or do they actually help with the warmth we in the north need in the winter? I know this is a strange question, but I live in the north and the use of cotton made me wonder. I have only seen much warmer fabric used up here. BTW, I love the way they turned out. Beautiful!!
That question makes sense! :) We live in the north here, too, so we know things need to be functional, too. The cotton version of this is definitely for more of a late winter/early spring day (perhaps a late autumn day). For winter, we'd recommend a nice flannel fabric, or you can add a batting/lining to this to make it warmer.
- Morgan
I appreciate the reply. I will have to try that sometime.
So cute I love it... Thanks!!!
Thank YOU for watching!
Just made 2! What a great tutorial!
That's awesome to hear! Thanks for watching and following along!
I love your sewing machine Jen, what kind and brand is it? I love this video and will make some for the Holidays for gifting. I also plan on ordering some fabrics however wish I can pic the exact ones that go with the sets I choice to order at the same time so I can get started right away
This machine is a 1939 Singer Featherweight sewing machine that was refurbished and painted! We call her Strawberry Shortcake :)
Lovely I'm going to make one for a friend
This is a lovely gift idea!
Thanks for sharing Jen. How much would you sell one scarf for already made.?
That is very much up to you and your fabric costs + time :)
i love this i plan to make it!
Awesome! Feel free to share a photo of your finished product with us on social media +Betty Ochoa!
Have you ever tried twisting the fabric before joining it. I have seen some of the videos show twisting it three times.
No, we haven't tried that but it sounds like it would be cute! Thanks for watching and for the tip!
Thanks for the tutorial. What is the pink machine on your table? Thank you
So glad you like it! It's a Singer Featherweight that Jen had powder coated in that lovely pink! - Morgan
Shabby Fabrics oh wow! Now I have stitch envy. LOL
Very nice. Thank you.
So glad you like it! Thank you for watching. - Morgan
Lovely thankyou. Would have liked to see it on you at the end!
We're glad you like this fun project. Thanks for watching!! ❤️ -Michelle
Thank you.
Thank YOU for watching!
Thanks a lot! 🌸🌸
You're welcome 😊
So cute
Thank you Beth! Merry Christmas! 🎄~Leah
It would have been nice if she would have shown us how to tie them. I thought infinity scarves were twisted.
You can add a twist if you'd like, as some do, prior to stitching the ends together. Thanks for watching! 💖 -Michelle
Why didn’t you show the final completed scarfs. Didn’t pick up the scarf or put it on. You just whip stitched it and left it lay....
Thank you for your feedback! I will pass this on to our video team for future reference! ~Leah
Maybe a daft question but! what are the measurements for your fat quarters? they look larger than the ones we get in the UK xxx
Our fat quarters measure 18 inches by 21 inches :)
Many thanks, just measured mine and they are around the same xx
Are the fat quarters cotton or something else?
These fat quarters are the Seventh Heaven collection which is 100% cotton: www.shabbyfabrics.com/search?sortOrder=6&q=seventh+HEaven -Michelle
Where in the world did you get that pink feather weight singer??????
Isn't it the cutest?! Jen had it specially powder coated to be that color! - Morgan
How many would you use for a child aged 6?
We'd probably test with some fabric to see what length we liked, but you could do probably do this with 2 or 3.
How many would I need to make one for toddler-teens
+Lindsay York for a teen, the one shown in the video would be perfect. For a toddler, three fat quarters would most likely work out!
Thank you so much for this videos I made 5 adult and 3 kids
+Lindsay York that is awesome! So glad you were inspired to make this project!
I love it. Just wish that you'd gone a little bit further and shown how to tie the darn thing. :-)
Great point, *****! All we did was simply loop one end through the other to create the cute "tied" look!
Show us the finished item as worn!
Great idea! We did include a photo of Jen wearing the scarf as the main image for the video, but on our new videos we'll include more images of the completed item. - Morgan
Very good tutorial, would be excellent if only you could give the measurements in cm, for the rest of the world please.
We are happy you enjoy this project! For reference, a "Fat Quarter" measures to approximately 50cm x 55cm. Thanks for watching! 💖 -Michelle
Cuales son las medidas de largo y ancho gracias
Fat Quarters son 18 "x 22", ¡y necesitarás 4 de estos para completar este proyecto!
- Morgan
you forgot to show it on you. beautiful tutorial, but I want to see it on
Jen is wearing a scarf in the thumbnail for this video if you'd like to see it on her :)
