  • Infinity scarf tutorial. In this video tutorial I walk you through step-by-step how to sew up your own DIY infinity scarf. You only need a few supplies to make one: sewing machine, fabric, pins, thread, scissors, a hand sewing needle and a measuring tape.
This is a great beginner sewing project that will make a great gift for yourself or anyone else in your life- man, woman or child! Play around with the length and width of the fabric you start with to make exactly the scarf you want.
In this video I use a piece pf stretch knit fabric that measures 24" x ~54" (width of fabric). The easiest way to start this scarf is to purchase about 2/3 yard (or 24") of a fabric that measures at least 54" on the width of the fabric. This will allow you to conserve fabric and use the entire piece without having any smaller scraps left over. If you use this method and purchase a full yard of fabric you will have enough to make 2 identical scarves.
If you enjoyed this video tutorial give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends and family!
I use this Singer 151 dress form in the video (affiliate link): amzn.to/QpzERj
There is also a Singer 150 dress form for smaller sizes (affiliate link): amzn.to/Oi2rKJ
When you make your own infinity scarf remember to snap a picture and upload it to my Facebook page so we can see your finished project! / craftygemini

I have been on UA-cam for an hour going thru infinity scarf tutorials just wanting to know how/which direction to cut my fabric. When I saw you with the fabric laid out on the table and you explained how it came off the bolt then cut the width ....I almost shouted for joy. You showed me and explained this so clearly that I paused your video, ran to my craft room and cut out 5 scarves. I sewed one and it turned out perfect. Im keeping that one for myself and the others will be gifts. Thanks for helping me sew gifts for Christmas. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤

Thank you. Best infinity scarf tutorial. I like that in your tutorials you stop music while you're talking and explaining the project. It's really hard to concentrate on how do you make the project when there's music going on in the background. so I really like the way you instruct.

Yay! Glad my video makes it look easy... because it is! Go for it! Yes, I would use a ball point/ jersey needle. You can watch my video series on sewing with stretch knit fabrics for all the ins and outs of what I do when I sew with knits. If you do a search for: "Sewing with Stretch Knit Fabric- Part 1" and Part 2 you should find it.

Thank You, I have been trying to make my daughter this darn infinity scarf for several hours (it shouldn't have taken THAT LONG) but you probably know how it goes when you stitch up the side seam first....then stitch the entire length (which at that point had already been made into the circle) it somehow became a SUPER LONG hand warmer.....So after hours of seam ripping I remembered I'd seen your 'infinity scarf' video about 6-8 months ago. Re-watched it spent all of 10 minutes re-sewing it. :) Next time I'll have to remember your Video BEFORE beginning the project!! :) LOL!

Your explanations make it so simple - I just did one tonight after watching your video. I'm knitting and crocheting infinity scarves A LOT (I love it) but I'm very excited to see I can create beautiful sewed scarves very fast and with low budget. For this one I used fabric I bought a year ago for a project I never made. And I will even make a second one with the remaining fabric. Thanks a lot. We are so lucky to have people like you sharing their knowledge!

I've had this dress form for about 3 years now and it's okay. I don't use it very often but when I do it gets the job done. The knobs don't stick out but instead lay inside the dress form so when you have a top on there it doesn't poke out through there. If you like the other one better go for it. :o)
