I know many don't consider The Last Airbender an "anime", but that beach episode had a very good story purpose, the character development of Zuko and Azula.

@@thingsilike4968 Oh, wait, the show had an actual beach episode or two and then there was the indoor pool/spa episodes! I totally forgot about the actual beach episode and was thinking of Hani getting swept away in the pool, lol. But their beach episode was Haruhi standing up to some guys messing with the girls the host club had invited on the trip (which causes her to have a fight with Tamaki, who felt she was being dangerous). It's also where we find out she's scared of lightning. Anyways, loved both water episodes but I just loved the entire show regardless :)
You know it would be funny if there was an anime that was all Beach and the filler was going to the City. Instead of dressing down they could dress up, how sexy would that be.
Ooo ooo! The anime "are you lost?" Basically these girls get stranded on a remote island and they try to survive until help comes or whatever. Its still a fairly new anime, and only has about 12 episodes so far.

you know the distinction between underwear and swimsuit never did make sense to me I mean usually underwear covers way more than the swim suit does (FYI I'm counting bras as part of the underwear)
Yeah, though I'd probably go the other way and opine that more conservative swimwear would be nice. As a guy I don't wear a top because it's not the norm, but I'd prefer to if it was more common. (disclaimer, this is not a statement on what should be legal, I'm pretty libertarian on that front)
As others have mentioned, the Outlaw Star hot spring episode definitely deserves a mention. Not only because it is also one of the rare exceptions where it contains actual plot (Gene gets some caster ammo which proves crucial in future fights) but it was also cut when it was broadcasted on Toonami and Adult Swim, causing much confusion when Gene later pulls those caster shots out of (seemingly) nowhere.
Side note: Outlaw Star also had a bunch of other weird censorship when shown on CN. They put a swimsuit on Melfina whenever she was in her pod even though you couldn't see any of her bits anyway. And they also airbrushed out any and all blood, which led to a really weird scene where Jim comes across a recently shot Gene, grabs him then looks at his perfectly clean hand while saying "blood?!"
Funny enough years ago when trying to write a fanfic with a friend the "beach" episode as filler came to us without even realizing it, it was like "of course" they have to go to the beach (or the lake in our case). But to be honest we did wanted to leave the "sexy" part out of it and focus on the relations before the end and tears.

Someone should do a realistic beach episode: you get there and the beach is crowded and you can't even find a place to put down a towel or umbrella
And the sand is scorching, it's too hot to even breath, the little bar on the beach is theft level expensive, and once at home you're a lobster red and in pain. Then, 2 or 3 days later, you shed your skin like a snake.
So they have to go find a less crowded part of the beach and end up being transported into a magical world

Beach episodes in:
Most anime: *swimsuit and fanservice*
JoJo: *torture dance* *someone from the main cast dies* *universe gets reseted*

I went to a scout camp and did a programming badge where you do a stick animation and one was called JoJo torture dance, it was quite something
Dilly Del those scouts are definitely JoJo fans
