13:25 I found it surprising that this show would add subtle Megamind lore so randomly. I'm talking about the world-building glance at Megamind's alien anatomy, where his big brain is divided into four quadrants, as opposed to the human brain which is divided into two hemispheres.
It made sense for two reasons I can think of: 1) Megamind is obviously an alien, so the weird brain anatomy is not that far off 2) Considering his species has a big mind, it could mean he is so smart (at least in the original film) that he has two brains fused together
Meanwhile, in the studio: Artist 1: Hey, how many, uh, pieces does a brain have? Artist 2: (Snorts a line of coke) Uh, five I think! Artist 1: (Counts on hand and draws four)

@robertthechannel1799 and @SunnySmooth513 you agree that someone’s dog getting shot is better than Schaffrillas’s video, or that the video’s ending was funny?
Based on the number of freeze-frames of Tamatoa’s different facial expressions that Schaffrillas uses, I’m starting to develop a headcanon that this is an alternate universe where Schaffrillas has become Tamatoa, and this is Tamatoa keeping Moana and Maui in his lair and is just yapping on about his opinions of various topics to them, and there is nothing that they can do to stop him. After all, “Are you just trying to get me to talk about myself? … because if you are… I will gladly do so. In UA-cam form!”

Megamind in his 'white guy' disguise looks like the animated version of Deadpool when he staples the toupee to his head and is selling minivans with Peter.
Seeing Schaff unironically enjoy some parts of this show, as low as the bar may be, might be the biggest twist ever. But honestly, I do respect him for actually giving credit where credit is due instead of just acting like a clickbait-ragemonster.
It was genuinely refreshing to be honest. I think the video wouldn't have been as interesting if it was just a retread of his old opinions, and I think this actually expands his opinions really well, as well as showing how initial judgements don't always determine how something will turn out in the end.
26:53 This song IS pretty good, but the best part is that when seen from megamind's point of view, it borders on psychological warfare with HIM as the intended target. It starts out swinging with "tempted away from his rightful place to mingle around with the human race", straight up saying that megamind should have died with his home planet, "they rejected him once, then twice" with megamind being raised by criminals and inevitably getting nailed into the role of the villain when he tried to be like young metroman and do cool things for his classmates. "like a fool in the rain, he goes for thrice" being rejected by roxanne after she first sees through his disguise in the movie and also becomind metrocity's SECOND hero. "You can rock and roll, but you'll never be the stone, you can join a group, but you'll always be alone" machiavillain keeps hammering at the point that megamind may have been seemingly accepted as metrocity's hero by its residents but that he'll always be an outcast. "You can leave the nest but you'll never find a home again" that is just straight up tormenting, attacking megamind with the knowledge that where he once lived and all those who love him are gone, that earth will not be a replacement. How is this diss track of a song so... dastardly?
and the fact that ADAM LAMBERT voices machiavillain AND sings that song??? my GOD, it goes harder than it has any right to! i absolutely adore adam lambert and his vocals, and i knew i recognized the voice when he started singing, but it somehow didn't click with me until schaf actually said it was adam lambert 😅
I'm a bit embarrassed to say this, but I was impressed with how much thought they put into the lyrics when I first read them! It surprises me how good the song from the infamous Megamind Series really is
35:24 this is probably my favorite thing about watching schaff, he's always honest with us in his opinions and I really respect how he can recognize the potential in faking a reaction for the views, but chooses not to
it feels like the writers actually were receptive to feedback and are at least trying to work wit what they got to fix it up. i genuinely respect them for it
There's a very important rule in game design - "you develop your first level last". The more time you spend on a project, the deeper your footing into it gets. I'm sure if the writer had more time and budget, they would go back to the movie and first episodes, and with the lessons they've learned making the show, rewrite it to make it less atrocious.
@@sambridgers9543 It might, but if people are roped into the show already, then they will be more willing to tolerate a slight dip in quality later on.
You're telling me they deliberately gave Metro Man stage fright when he has shown the epitome of an extrovert? Nah, at the very least they could've implied that his time away from the public was making him anxious as a result.
That would’ve been sick tbh. Now that he’s trying to do something new, he just gets cold feet and self doubt similar to how Megamind acted in the first movie about becoming a hero or proving himself like in the show
@@floodrunner_2042 That’s kind of the vibe I got already tbh, composing and playing your music to a live audience is a much more emotionally vulnerable act than performatively acting like a bombastic superhero
4:12 That delivery is actually hilarious to me, it sounds like Megamind is trying to let him down easy but deep down he’s raging at how stupid everyone is
That....honestly wasn't that painful the second time around! What I really like about Schaffrillas is that no matter how bad a piece of media is, he still points out what works as well as shows the good highlights. Like he said in the conclusion, it would've been easier to say "this show bad" and be angry but it's more fun to be honest and talk about the things that did work and the parts that you've enjoyed even if it's in something not good. Also I audibly cheered when I saw the kiss between Megamind and Roxanne. FUCKING FINALLY THE SHOW ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEYRE A COUPLE
THANK YOU!! Everyone understandably expected this to just be more of him screaming in rage, but it was honestly a nice surprise to see him react mostly positively, and people need to understand that rather than pressure him to lose his mind (I mean I guess he did at the end-)
I second this so much. I appreciate reviewers that are honest with their opinions, despite how easier it is to just write it off as either dogshit, woke, mid, or the worst piece of media of all time. People who do that are either lazy or blindly agreeing without seeing it for themselves, and it results in a lot of movies not getting the attention and fair treatment they deserve. Always give credit where its due, people.
Unneccesary assumption coming based on parasocial relationships so be aware of that. It kinda feels like he regrets going so hard on Sharktale, which he did also express in one video so that probably shapes his way of reviewing current stuff, including this show.
I think it’s so refreshing that a UA-camr is actually honest with their opinions instead of pretending to be overly angry and exaggerating how bad something is for views.
25:17 The funny thing is Schaff is more justified in saying “the bad old days” because it’s been months since Season 1a instead of the TWO DAYS since the first movie in the show.
17:26 ngl I actually thought you were going to say Metroman was in prison FOR writing the annoying polka dot llama song. Like it was so annoying they had him arrested
I love how he normally said that Megamind used the dehydration gun without even noticing or being too surprised by it but until the ending he finally realizes it 🤣

schaffrillas when you showed your face i was so confused why a crab was voicing over a random dude my brain genuinely thinks you're a crab i cant see you as a normal human anymore
16:20 i think it has the same bones as "they're behind me, arent they", but from that clip the meat is different. Typically, the character starts out talking about someone/something as if its not even in the room, so there will be no consiquences of saying the plan out loud and no chance of being ambushed. Then, there is a split second of surprise followed by resignation. In this case, Huge Skull is proving that he is already fully aware of his situation. That he has no plan at the moment, but theres also literally nothing they can do to surprise him. That his escape is not a matter of if, but when. See also: corner peeking for the monster, hiding, sigh of relief, monster's right behind them.
What confuses me is WHERE IS THE DISGUISE WATCH?!?! We could've completely avoided Micheal Mynd due to the existence of BERNARD!!! We could've had quirky hipster Bernard back instead of the cursed unholy abomination we have now!
Shaff mentioned it in the video but at the time, Machiavillain had taken over Megamind's lair and had all of his tech. He literally didn't have access to any of his gadgets because they were all at his lair.
@@GoldTheWriter They missed the opportunity to make a joke or dialogue with Megamind and Minion while he was creating this new identity-outfit about how it would have been easier if he had his watch and use that bernard guy appearance again

If you go frame-by-frame, it fell rather than vanishing, but the animators only animated two frames of it, one of which has it mostly out of picture so it's too quick to really see it.
@@avid2556 I remember seeing an animator talk about working on these kinds of shows. They said that whenever you see "lazy" animation like this it's usually not a lack of talent on display, just the constraints the team is put under. Goes to show how rushed this all is.
Actually, NO. Megamind loved donuts in the original movie. Minion would go get him coffee and donuts and he had a note on the wall to remind Megamind to eat his veggies.
I think coming into this video for "yay mor suffering" and then being met with actual, noticable improvement by the writing team is such a pleasant surprise, especially given the subject is Megamind, a character who's entire identity is about learning to grow and overcome the labels placed upon you by others. Even if the show isn't good, it's the product of a creative team that clearly, at least on some level, does actually want to make something enjoyable
the writers 100% took the criticism from the first half which is something i dont see often in this industry. i mean megamind actually uses the dehydration gun thats proof enough.
But I'm pretty sure these episodes were made as one season and just split in half. Plus, I doubt they were able to produce new episodes so quickly, even with how low quality the show's animation is. It's probably just a coincidence but still funny either way.
@@ChillaxingJay it's funny how basically the same thing happened to the clone high reboot season 2 was WAY better than season 1 (not that good in terms of the original clone high, but it wasnt garbage like the first season) even though s1 ans s2 of the reboot were made at the same time, s2 felt like it was made with genuine care! people were saying that the writers listened to the criticism from the first season but, again, that wouldnt be possible because it was already made before s1 released xD!
i know that doom syndicate was just a pilot for the show that was marketed as megamind 2, but it's funny that they decided to make the feature-length movie about megamind just fighting a team of disposable villains and then they made the show that was kinda presented as lesser to the movie about an actually threatening villain trying to get megamind to revert to being evil by turning metrocity on him and playing into his insecurities. like one plot's a substantial idea for a proper sequel and the other is better fit for a low-stakes tv show, but it's like they got the two mixed up
I love how he sounds unsure about every praise he gives episode 10 It’s like he’s legitimately not convinced that the episode was real and not a dream conceived by his poor, fatigued brain trying to escape the reality of this horrific show.
Schaff waiting until the very end of the video to make a big deal out of Megamind finally using the Dehydration Gun is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
Gotta say, Schaff actually having a decent time with the second half of rules was definitely something that SUBVERTED the outcome i initially thought he would have for it, anyone else ?

I think it’s neat that even this one guy from SpongeBob who doesn’t have a name, hasn’t been developed beyond being a recurring extra, is still that iconic that he can easily be the thumbnail of a UA-cam video that will reach countless people online and people recognize him instantly. He is just ONE gag from an episode of SpongeBob that delves much more into black comedy, hopelessness and sadly realistic dilemmas and issues for children, and we all know him like he’s a main character or was the focus of an Endgame Portals level scene.

As said by the text, Destruction worker was from both the DS and Wii Megamind games, and as a guy, was part of that version's Doom syndicate. That version included... a Green slime judge, named "Judge Sludge," who planned to contaminate the entire city's water supply... Hot flash, who was essentially a villain version of Burnin' from MHA, who was a master thief... Psycho Delic, a Disco obsessed ghoul and the best character in the game, who planned to turn the entire city into ghouls through the air... and the Conductor, the head honcho who planned to literally electrocute the whole city and everyone in it. They weren't fought in that order, but destruction worker was the first main boss of the game, and it's about as easy as Kirby Star allies, due to the fact that you're forced to have a full party of 4 consisting of Megamind, Minion, Metroman, and Tighten, alongside the bosses once they're defeated. All of this is to say THEY BETTER NOT BRING MY BOY PSYCHO DELIC INTO THIS MESS! Edit: Then again, if they do put him in, he'd probably be the best character. Also, side note, "Lady Doppler's" previous designs were way cooler looking. Looking like Captain Marvel.

This song IS pretty good, but the best part is that when seen from megamind's point of view, it borders on psychological warfare with HIM as the intended target.

Megamind is obsessed with donut because the 3d blender donut tutorial is the only thing they learned how to do
As said by the text, Destruction worker was from both the DS and Wii Megamind games, and as a guy, was part of that version's Doom syndicate.

@@theinfernus9912 it always feels like that, doesn't it? When you see a UA-camr or streamer that either doesn't appear on camera often, or used a picture to represent themselves in the flesh, it's always so weird...
I mean this in the most positive way
He looks like an American HBomberguy
In the Who Framed Roger Rabbit-universe, Jemaine Clement is Tamatoa’s voice over in the film, while Schaffrillas is Tamatoa’s REAL voice.
Kinda like baby herman?
@@RandomCartoonFan2639 Yes, the only difference being a celeb dub as kind of a jab at celebs dubbing over already completed voice tracks by professional voice actors.

To my knowledge, the only time donuts appear in the first movie is when Megamind holds up two donut halves and says "A yin with no yang!" while he's explaining to Minion why he needs to make a new hero. He follows this up by saying "A bullfighter with no bull to fight! In other words, I have no purpose!", so I can only assume that the donuts are a reference to this show ALSO having no purpose! :D
Hey ik you have no clue who I am but this is the 2nd time I've stumbled across your acc in a comment section. Weirds me out every time because your username/pfp/page is so similar to an irl friend I have, but ik you aren't her. Either way, keep being you
@@PyxeledGenesis
Aww, thanks! And yeah, a lot of people have told me "I've seen you before in another comment section" lol.
Out of curiosity, what makes you so sure that I'm not your friend? I've had multiple IRL friends find me like this before lol
30:08 I actually laughed, at freaking MEGAMIND RULES of all things!
one of 3 jokes in this show that feel like they couldve been in the original megamind movie. wow
😑
"UUUEEEHHH"🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
the worst part of the donut bit is that i know EXACTLY where they took it from, remember when megamind was explaining to minion that there is no bad without good, yeah he uses a donut for that, the worst part about this is that for them to be able to know about this scene THEY HAD TO HAVE WATCHED THE MOVIE, they are fully aware on how off they are
Peak side plot
Fun fact: The writers who wrote this abomination are the same as the movie
I’m not joking
@@no_0riginality937 Abomination? You mean masterpiece?
@@no_0riginality937 Fuck that
@MegamindRulesFan
based but wrong
12:06 I can’t believe you didn’t outrage at this at first
I think he either actually forgot or waited until the very end of the video to make a joke about it
There is no Megamind 2 in Bang Sing Se. Only _Button of Doom_ is the closest to the true sequel to Megamind.
Megamind 2/Rules is a fever dream anyway.
What about the megasquad game? Surely it’s better than rules?
The profile pic is what I feel about this.
why are there a bunch of bots over here
@Joseph14144 ... Hilarious?! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU??!?!?!?!?!?!!
he finally got pressured into watching it
@Joseph14144no
At least the crab man found the second half decent
Pierre Pressured
pierre pressured, if you will
I love it when a TV show takes the criticism of the the first half, and uses it to slightly improve the 2nd half.
it was just a 3 month gap so i don't think they had much time to actually make changes
40:53 Bro I got JUMPSCARED. 🤣
