Police are the same here in the UK. My ex stole nearly 5 grand of property when she moved out. They rang her, she denied having it and that was the end of the ‘investigation’. They aren’t interested in anything that required paperwork they just go after people for petty stuff that raises funds for the system. Most people that are recruited into the police aren’t the brightest and have a real chip on their shoulder.
Honestly mate, some of the people in a police uniform have no business being in that profession. However, I must admit not all police are bad just a shame that there isn’t enough accountability within the ranks.
They don't want smart ppl, they want ppl that follow orders without questioning it.

Police literally dont have the man power to investigate crime, had my tool kits stolen twice and they just had me do a report online. The only thing it does is make the claim look legitimate to the insurance companies. The system relies on insurance to cover losses.
