- I didn't even realize there was a curb or driveway here until I got started with the work. The windows were all boarded up so I spoke with the next door neighbor to learn a little bit more about it. She moved in a year ago and said that nobody ever cuts it. It looks terrible for the neighborhood so I thought I would get it looking beautiful again!

Great work. You guys do an awesome service helping people for free. I was just wondering how you are able to mow a lawn just using a weed eater/edger instead of a lawn mower
Hey Spencer! I was listening to a radio station called KLOVE. I heard them talking about a guy who mows overgrown lawns for free. I immediately thought about you. It turns out it was you. Since it was Christian radio they were saying that doing God's work can just be something little like mowing a lawn for free. It's great to see that you are finally getting the recognition that you deserve and especially that it was recognized by a Christian radio station. Keep doing God's work my friend. 🙏
Definitely not doing something little. It is major. Would normally take a small army or a week to accomplish.

Best poison ivy removal - straight rubbing alcohol. Apply within 10 minutes of exposure and it removes the urushiol oil. Literally pour it on your hand and wash with it, then follow with Dawn dish soap. Keep some with you on the truck and you will be able to prevent the rash. Thank you for all that you are doing in your community.

Most of the places are abandoned I think so I don't think so. Sometimes he helps the elderly or injured and they usually seem super thankful

Spencer is a good person. He must be exhausted most days, just to help others. He impresses me in that way. I am glad to see that there are still good people in this world who actually care, even when they really do not have to.

@@trinamcgarvey-vw7ke No im sure they're grateful but it doesnt change how gross it is these lawn care youtubers make videos of them cutting lawns for "FREE", making people think they do it solely out of the kindness of their hearts all while making thousands of dollars from it. In reality these people arent getting their lawns cut for free, these youtubers use their homes and lawns as content to make a profit. The saying "if you're not paying for the product, you are the product" doesn't come from nothing. Take off your rose colored glasses.
I did lawn work for 2]-3 years in Florida. It is exhausting but satisfying. This is so sweet. Our neighbors just mowed our lawn. What a doll he was!
Spencer, your meticulous methods are not only very effective, they’re comforting to watch! Stumbled on someone else’s cleanup video and nearly lost my mind watching him dart all over with seemingly no direction. Love watching these transformations. Amazing job, as always!
not really effective because he do to much by hand and he left all the dirt on the yard. This hand job with the spade is not really effective, better you use there a mini dumper with caterpillar drive and a hydraulic shovel. His mower is a $15.000 "Rolls Royce" mower. For this money you can buy a nice mini dumper with shovel, a very good mower with catch basket, a trailer for both machines and more.

@@calliemyersbuchanan6458I doubt that, most abandoned houses are usually in a legal limbo due to death of the owner with either no heirs or multiple heirs in probate courts, there also is the matter of bad title/deed, one or more liens possibly being fought over in court, another thing to keep in mind is that the civil courts were closed due to covid for over a year and the courts are backed up. Cities in general usually don't own many homes, property taxes are paid to the county and different locations have different lengths of time before they are taken to auction for back taxes, some are 3 years, some are 5, some are 7 and it wouldn't surprise me if there were extensions given due to the courts being closed for so long.
@@calliemyersbuchanan6458Another reason I think it's in legal limbo is if there's a legal owner the property would be maintained, if it's still in the court system a bank/lienholder, multiple heirs aren't likely to spend money on a property that they might not own after the court makes a decision.
Hey Spencer, do you ever drive by the properties you’ve done previously just to see if anyone is keeping it up? To see if maybe the neighbors are now helping out the elderly or just keeping an abandoned property mowed? I’d like to see some of those updates. 😮

I was thinking the same thing. Like a one month follow up etc. see what it looks like once the grass starts growing back in.
Probably the same condition again after a few years. But that's not the point, it's about marketing you. Regardless, you should use a face mask with the leaf blower. That much dust will destroy your lungs! Take care.

Just got a curious question..Why not after it’s all cut & everything, go over it it one more time with the bag attached to get the extra debris & stuff? Don’t know if there is a reason or not. I was so happy when you uncovered those lillies and then my heart stopped for a sec when you took the weed eater to them 😂 but I love your videos! It's a Dewalt 20v cordless pruner and he has a 20v Dewalt chainsaw.
The cordless pruners are real handy. Many different types available now. I have a Makita compatible that was about 50$, use it all the time

My Dad and I don't get affected by poison ivy. Our neighbor however, gets it so bad, even his throat, eyes, lungs are affected.

I was lucky too. My family was all was bothered by that. I can remember my dad telling me to use gloves but I didn't. I asked him to bring out dish soap and turn on the hose for me. He called be goofy. Maybe I was!🤣😂
When I was little I would roll in it so I could stay home from school like my sister. Never did get it. I guess that’s a good thing lol.
I've never had a problem with it either.. I have always just pulled them up with my hands, but my brother will break out bad.. I'm 55, so far so good.. But who knows? I may go out tomorrow and touch it and break out all over.. God bless.

My kids’ father is allergic to poison ivy. He uses that ointment you put on before you go out which helps prevent the oil from interacting with your skin.

I always like watching these vids. My family being in the mowing business for 30 yrs and me doing it personally for 10 or so, there's just something so self satisfying at seeing the end results everytime. Some days I do miss it but my fam still do it even now. And I'm always driving past places and seeing what could be done. This yard came out great
Man, it turned out great! I love watching these videos. As far as the poison ivy goes, I've been using that Tecnu brand scrub to make sure I don't get a rash from it and it works pretty well. It's not cheap though but definitely worth it.

I always carry Tecnu soap and water to wash with. It will remove the urushiol very well. Great job!
got the ivy real bad one spring, looked like i went 10 rounds and lost bad, Tecnu soap and wipes helped sooo much! Good Stuff!

This is the best commercial for a shovel I have ever seen, it's the fastest most efficient, and most durable ever shown anywhere. Even Spencer can't wear it out after slicing and dicing into concrete. You are definitely a hard working man, very nice work.

The fact that you are putting excess dirt and grass onto plastic to remove it instead of putting it all on the lawn is a huge improvement! Not only does the end product look better, the grass will have it easier to grow healthy again. Keep up the good work Spencer! 😊

Your work will also encourage others to clean up their yards. I landscaped my yard about 25 years ago when I first moved in, and 3 other neighbors started doing the same. One asked me how he could make his yard look like mine. I said, "A little time and a good shovel." LOL! Nice work Spencer!!

I suffer from severe anxiety and it's amazing what a calming effect it has on me to watch these videos one after the other. You do have people like Spencer in the UK. No they aren’t doing the exact same job as Spencer but good hearted people are all around us. There’s Ben who has a company called Flawless Cleaning. One day a week he voluntarily helps someone in need by cleaning their driveways and backyard areas. He’s doing a community centre’s playground today, pressure washing and trimming back the trees and bushes. He has a friend who cleans cars and other vehicles, sometimes they volunteer together to help someone. Have a wonderful day.
