I really enjoyed watching this movie on the big screen in theatres. I loved the exploration on the power of the family dynamic and I loved the character references like Batman and Flash.
In case you guys didn't know, that was Jason Sudeikas as the voice of ted kord. If we get a sequel to this movie, i hope James Gunn brings him in in. We are a getting a booster gold tv show in the dcu who is best friends with ted kord.
I thought the picture looked a little bit like him, but felt like the voice didn't so I convinced myself they'd done the likeness close in the hope to cast him but not enough, just in case!
I believe James Gunn has said that Xolo’s Blue Beetle is the first new character to be introduced that will be in the DCU, but that the official start will be the animated Creature Commandos series.

Blue Beetle has appeared in Smallville , Young Justice , Teen Titans movie, Batman brave and the bold and Injustice 2. I love the movie and Xolo played Jamie really well in my opinion
Xolo Mariduena is the perfect person for this role man, he is the best man, Xolo killed it as Jamie Reyes aka Blue Beetle, same thing with Cobra Kai man, the best actor. George Lopez was amazing in this movie as well
If the DCEU would of gave us movies like Blue Beetle, Wonder Woman, Shazam! and if the other main stream superheroes like Batman, Superman, etc would of got the same treatment as these movies did...we would of had a hell of a DCEU still going strong.

Man, this film really needed that cast promotion. I said afterwards, this does everything that Iron Man did for Marvel, but the character is more a blend of Iron Man and Spider-Man, which arguably works even better to start the 'new' DCEU.

The Mexican callbacks, el Chapulin Colorado, the references and the Latin music soundtrack was on point, although I do think they tried to cram everything and everything in this movie. George Lopez (Tio Rudy) stole the show, but Xolo still held his own. I was able to congratulate him in person that he got this role, back at the Cobra Kai season 5 premiere in LA. The dialog was borderline R rated, but I loved it hahaha As for the Vicks, yes, it was my "Covid test" back in 2020 to find out if my sense of smell came back. Also, you guys being from Arizona must see Tacomas with "Puro Sonora" on a daily basis! 😅

Black Panther was done great, but then we start getting the India movie, the Latino movie, etc and really, your trying to play to the MINORITY audience instead of the main group of people who watch super hero movies. And it fails. And the Flash was just horrible. This movie was dumb, hey lets throw in a bunch of bad latino comedy which is lame. There is a reason this movie isn't on anyones radar. Most even forgot it was out. At least with the Flash they had Keaton as a draw, but even he isn't a fix for a bad movie. Sadly this movie had George as the draw. Ick.
What a weirdly dull film. I'm afraid I was so damn bored through most of it. For as another reviewer has said It's nicked so many ideas from other franchises that have been executed better. Sorry. :(
Movie was ok. Like the tech/suit/powers though. It had so many bad and stupid and weird parts... Too much to comment on but one example is how the family wasn't trying to do something or weren't crying when he was taken over by the scarab and flew away.
