one of the big reasons i love reaction channels. So many good movies that people just didnt watch or didnt really digest, and now that we're older all these movies make so much more sense.
@@raadraad Would be so great to have Chloe Moretz return to a superhero role in the MCU alongside Dafne as X-23. Maybe she could be Gwenpool or something.
Big Daddy speaks with broken cadence as a tribute to Adam West in the original Batman. Hit-Girl is one of the best things to happen in the comic book movie genre
Chloe Grace Moretz trained with Jackie Chan's stunt team for a solid 3 months before filming and did most of her own stunts in this movie which made her an instant star!
This is easily one of my fave superhero movies. It’s got the actual realism, but then the suspense of disbelief factor that you can just get past, and also the humor... Yeah idk this one is a banger.
I can’t say enough..Chloe Moretz blew me away with her performance as Mindy McCready and Hit Girl. I couldn't believe how well she acted in a way where she was pure entertainment. I love this movie.
In the comic Big Daddy is less of a good guy. He was an accountant who was bored of his life, and he did kidnap and brainwash his daughter to be a super hero.
One of Nicolas Cage’s genuinely best performances of his career. I still wish that he played Superman, watch old interviews about how he was preparing for the role, he had a true grasp on who and what the character represented.
Nicolas Cage has so many great movies. Moonstruck, Leaving Las Vegas, Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, WTC, Raising Arizona, Ghost Rider, Mandy, Willy’s Wonderland, Lord of War, National Treasure, Joe, Renfield, Knowing, Gone in 60 Second, Face Off, Con Air, The Rock, and so many more.
You can find videos on UA-cam of the training Chloe Grace went through for her role of Hit Girl. Most of the stunts and choreo she did herself. She's very talented and this, as well as Kick Ass 2, are amazing movies.
In her next movie (Let Me In) there were some stunts, and the director said he was happily surprised that she was perfectly ready to do them herself, because of her training for this movie.
He was also in Zack Snyder's Arm of the Dead on Netflix. IMO, the movie was kinda boring but the way that it ended made it look like Omari was going to be in the sequel which I doubt they will do.
Nicolas Cage's character, Big Daddy is based on Batman...the way he's speaking is a callback to the 60's Batman TV series where Adam West as Batman spoke like that.
I watched Kick Ass in theatres when I was 10 with my Dad cause we went to the theatres randomly without checking the times. (Which was the first time I had ever done that.) So when we got there he was like, what’s playing and they told us Kick ass. To which he replied, “what’s that like? A superhero movie?”. And they said yea, so we watched it and my mom got pissed off lmao. But I loved the movie, core memory forsure
I would LOVE to see someone on the channel react to "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006) A dark comedy about a dysfunctional family on a 2 days road trip from New Mexico to California, trying to get there in time for the younger kid's child beauty pageant.
I couldn’t place it until now, but I think Nic Cage’s speech and cadence is supposed to mimic or pay homage to Adam West’s Batman? Edit: oops, I just got to the post-watch section where Roxy mentions this 😅
32:42 his name is Omari Hardwick. He has a STARZ series named Power that ran for 6 seasons and spawned 4 spin-offs. I think you guys should react to it.
Chloë Grace Moretz in this movie is a gift. We truly don't deserve her, so good. And she's not alone. This cast is fire, and they absolutely rocked this movie. It's so so good.
fun fact the artist who did the artwork for the original Kick Ass comic books did all the artwork for this movie like the drawing Nick 'drew' and the flashbacks to Daddy's origins I thought that was a neat touch.
This is easily Matthew Vaughn's best movie alongside layer cake. I feel Vaughn excels at making smaller budget movies. Whenever he is given a bigger budget, he goes into a more cartoony route.
A little context: Kick-Ass and WATCHMEN were the movies that changed the game for superhero films. We got Deadpool, Suicide Squad, The BOYS now, but in that time those two movies took the superhero panorama through a whole new level.
I appreciate the fact that Big-Daddy kept guiding Hit-Girl on what to do, while he was on fire… a lot of ppl miss what Big Daddy was talking about, and why he’s talking that way, while basically dying--he was talking through the pain and reminding her what to do, while keeping her focus on surviving, and not worrying about him dying.
As much as I like Kingsman, this is Matthew Vaughn's masterpiece. It's so smart about how real humans would react to these situations... Funny, brutal, cool AF...
Nicolas Cage playing in this film was surprising his character big daddy and costume is most likely inspired by Batman but in the comic is different, and I’m just saying here that the movie is actually adapted from a comic but only changing a few things from the story

I love that both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are in this. They have both been Quicksilver in different Marvel projects!

Underrated? I feel like this movie set a new standard for violent superhero movies
kickass has been one of my favorite movies ever since it came out!
