it's expensive cause of the emote version, I'm pretty sure the razer seiren x is waaaay cheaper and the same quality (however that didn't come out in 2019)

@@datazzena i legit just returned my sieren x becasue it should've sounded way better for 100, my headset mic was much better (although that probably isn't saying much as it's the non SE corsair virtuoso headset which sounds great)

I do absolutely recommend the hyperx. It's sounds amazing out the box and if you get a cheap arm. I use an ikea lamp stand and just removed the lamp bit. So you can be a bit closer, it won't pick up the slight noise you hear in this video :) also it clearly has the most features. I think 😊

FuroowHD how on earth are you guys using your blue yetis and Not getting the annoying ass recording buzzing??? I have min on a separate stand on and extended USB and then a USB into the PC and it still makes the sound no matter what I do.

Your channel is what made me buy the Hyper X Quadcast and I do not regret that purchase. This mic is amazing.
When hearing the podmic, my thoughts were: "hm, pretty bad plosive handling, but at least, way less noise from keyboard+desk going into it (compared the the Seiren Emote). Then you say, that it does a pretty good job canceling out plosives....

I dont think any of these sounded like they should and can. Have seen a video where the Podmic actually sounded like a Shure SM7B(costing 3 times as much), just by changing some eq stuff

if you're looking for suggestions, I recommend the Corsair Void Pro Wireless. You can get one for around $50. Even the mic on that headset is really not that bad.
if money is not a problem, any of the Sennheiser line is just perfect.

I have some thoughts. So even though I'm already sold on the PodMic, I think it shouldn't have been in this round-up. It's clearly 1 dynamic mic vs 4 different USB condenser mics. I think it should've been the Blue Ember instead. $99 XLR condenser mic that sounds infinitely better than all of the other condenser mics in the list.

@@SenkoTTV And that is totally okay, it's personal preference. But what I was saying on my previous comment is that it's kinda unfair for the PodMic since it's a dynamic microphone and has far less detail than the 4 USB condenser microphones in the list. That is why I said that if they're gonna put an XLR microphone, Frank should've put the Blue Ember instead of the PodMic.
He didn't do the Podmic Justice, it was a piss poor review SMH
@@JROCThaGreat obviously a dynamic microphone meant for podcasting is gonna sound different from condenser microphones. I wouldn't say it was a poor review though. I'd say it was just a poor choice to add the Podmic.

I guess the "use headphones" warning is mostly for mobile users where the speakers are trash, because if you have any decent speakers you'd hear the difference plenty.

That noise definitely comes from your interface. There also seems to be some weird from of bad treatment because it sounds kind of dirty.

The Rode PodMic should be the best sounding of those 5 mics just because of the fact that it is a quality XLR microphone rather than a USB Microphone, it is definitely just his interface.

I just picked a Q2u up this year as my local BBY's just started carrying them a few months back. I had no idea Samson made a USB/XLR dynamic mic or that it was even a "thing" to begin with... I have to agree with you as well that this mic is the way to go especially for a streamers general needs and thats not even my primary use for mine which is as a live musical performance mic with the ability to block out stage noises/feedback as well as run multiple high quality vocal plugins via usb saving me tons of money from all the many expensive rack units and hardware devices it would take to replicate the effects i am able to use with just my phone or laptop + the Q2u mic! had to give it a shoutout here incase any other musicians needed to see this info!
I do want to give the Hypercast a try as an at home/studio mic tho... ive been wondering about its quality for awhile and was very happy with what i heard from it on stereo pickup mode in this video

debated between hyper x and blue yeti x ... i wish the hyper x came in different colors, but the quality is honestly very comparable to the blue yeti x and is significantly cheaper. just bought it on amazon as a birthday gift, thank you for this comparison!! super excited :)
john I like it. I’m not a huge fan of the red LED color and unfortunately you can’t change it, but i definitely think it was comparable to other mics given the price. there is some static background noise a little bit but i’m pretty sure most mics have that as well. i’ve been streaming with it since i got it and it’s definitely been an improvement!

@@baker003 OMG I was *just going to recommend the Samson Q2U!* It's a great little mic and it's about $50. It can be used as an XLR *OR* USB, which is really uncommon for any mic, and it sounds really good used both ways, though I prefer XLR. You can pick up a Behringer Uphoria UM2 audio interface which provides that phantom power for about $40.
@@krymsynrayne Exact setup I'm running. I'm rocking some NovelKeys Kailh Speed Heavy Burnt Oranges (mouthful) and they are tactile but a bit on the loud side. So a dynamic mic is something I needed without pissing off my squad mates in MW and Apex. Everyone compliments how it sounds. The Q2U was on sale for $40 when I bought it - add $50 for the UM2 and you have yourself an XLR mic setup for even cheaper than the cheapest USB mic on this list.

I've used the snowball for 5+ years now and there is not a $50 difference when it comes to streaming / recording audio
