The Chaser is back! Today we get the jzx100 back and ready for the road. To start out, i purchased a brand new Vertex front bumper, so we got it painted and on the car! To finish the video off, we have full @statusracing interior! We installed custom bucket seats, steering wheel, and even a quick release! The chaser is turning out AWESOME!

Next time you paint do a light coat of paint to get coverage and then 2 medium coats in 4 quadrants with 75-80% overlap. Then clear it the same way in 4 quadrants with 75-80% overlap, it will come out much better and have the proper gloss 👍🏻👍🏻

Wow! We're very close to neighbors. I'm on Olive, and Orchard. I been up that street a few times, it's very steep! My car struggles but makes it to the top. Nice view from the top of the hill.

Bumper looks like it came out pretty decent, especially for a drift car. Would've been sick to have Devin help you with it when he was there with the NSX. He has become a pretty dope painter and body work guy. I do think wet sand and buff would make a pretty big difference!
if you wetsand and polish that bumper it will look better, the texture is runining it.
And maybe spray some 2K clear coat

What I heard from other guys is they spray bed liner on the inside of their aero kits and makes it really durable compared to just bare fiber glass bumpers and skirts

What Dustin should use that rare Toyota trd steering wheel for is a Toyota build like a Toyota right hand side drive toyota supra or get get another chaser and build one of those for the street
Bumper looks good on it! Definitely going to have to trim it more once you put a FMIC on it. At least all the trimming needed will be on the back side of the bumper

Tanjoubi Omedetou, Tiana! I hope you had a wonderful, amazing, happiness-filled day! Dustin, you've got me wanting a JDM Import so badly! I've been wishy washy about whether or not to buy a USDM, or a JDM... And this content you're putting out with the Chaser and the Skylines, is really giving my heart a lot to think about. I've been thinking about a Stagea, and getting into the RB scene. Love the sound of the engines, and I know there's a lot out there for the RB25's. (Plus, the idea of doing an R34 front-end conversion makes those cars look sick! Have Sammit to thank for the idea for that one!) Can't wait to see what you end up doing with the Chaser!

And yeah if I were in your shoes, I would definitely drop the engine to see everything. Hope it's just a gasket problem as JZs are known to be reliable and bulletproof.

Looks good! I do like Chasers a lot! Such fun and cool cars. If the engine needs to come out i'd be nice to add some power. But I'd keep it below 500 or something. Idk.

Just finished watching the video. Go ahead and do a block test and see if you are having and exhaust gasses in the cooling system. That would be step one, but unfortunately it does look like it’s a head gasket failure when you have the milky substance in the oil. Also, I don’t know it has a separate oil cooler, but if that failed it could cause that coolant mixture with the engine oil. Hope for the best.

blew the head gasket on my jzx90 last fall. fun times
Hey Dut, I've seen your ig story with Throtl at Meguiars couple days ago, it would be cool to get Quinn to check that 1J and get it fixed/rebuilt!
Not sure if applicable here, but the bad valley plate gasket (or in your case, bad head gasket) would cause coolant to leak into block, causing my oil (Lexus ISF) to become milky-like color and dilutes the viscosity to almost water-like (if you drain all the fluid out and let it sit for a minute, you should see separation of oil and coolant).
So yeah, replace gaskets and flush both your coolant and oil (especially oil a few times). Should also run compression check (and then leakdown if you see low compression in whatever cylinder).

Hope you got the steering wheel restored. That thing is crazy expensive.
If the "chocolate milk" oil is coolant theirs a good chance the OEM "oil cooler" has failed and started mixing coolant. If it's gas mixing, check injectors and the stock ECU. Capacitors going out is also a common failure. OEM GTE head gaskets don't blow until you're REALLY high in the horsepower range or get it VERY hot.

Headgasket change and refresh things to make it reliable not saying build a horsepower build but make it bullet proof so it could take punishment if u desired later on
With the milky oil, id be checking the factory 'oil cooler' setup on the oil filter housing. Coolant runs through it to regulate oil temp. Its highly unlikely its a blown headgasket on a 1j, thats a 7M problem and toyota learnt from their mistakes lol Also check the PCV valves etc.
