The only thing that's holding it back is the lack of range: enough for modest distance commuting, but not much else.

I was at my Orange county Indian dealer and I saw one in the parking lot it had a note saying not for sale and penske. Gray and black. I have a picture of the note that was on it but this won't let me post it.
Just like cars, an electric car has its specific need and use... but they are not for everyone. The main reason the government wants us using electric vehicles is because they can control and regulate the electric companies. An electric motor is similar to a gas engine, the faster the motor spins, the more electricity it uses. I think a DCT or something similar would be better for speed and range. Everyone made fun of the Honda when they announced the DCT for its Africa Twin and Goldwing. The Goldwing DCT outsells the manual gearbox version two-to-one.
I rode a Brammo Empulse at Gorace in Christiansburg, VA over a decade ago. A customer brought it in for tires. It was reminiscent of an SV650 or Monster. It was cute, but hands down they'll never replace the sound of a good exhaust on an ICE bike.
As a child i always enjoyed the electric vehicles that i owned (rc cars). Even at a young age i had charging anxiety and hated be limited by the batteries. As an adult i choose to avoid this. A five minute trip to the pump and I'm on the road again
I would like to see a real world top speed test. I'll bet it's closer to the 100mph than it is to the 136mph the dyno showed. Simply based on wind resistance. When Cleetus put Leroy in the wind tunnel without the new body it showed he was using around 800hp just to maintain speed on the big end. Granted Leroy is shaped like a brick without it's body on and will have a whole lot more drag than a motorcycle. But I could still see 20mph or more lost vs the dyno test. Would be interesting to see gps speed, for no other reason than curiosity.
When they were a idea and coming out really wanted one but couldn't find one for the UK and I think that's we're it went wrong. As USA 2,800 miles long UK at it's longest 838 so good idea and bike just wrong place.
Idk why manufactures of both ev cars and bikes don't put transmissions behind the motor. It makes sense to keep the ev motor turning at a optimum rpm for efficiency regardless of vehicle speed. EVs due worse on the highway due to the motor being wound out. Give it a transmission that can drop the motor rpm while holding speed and watch the range sky rocket.
I rode a Brammo Empulse R early this year. I was actually quite impressed by it but, just like this very similar Polaris rehash, it has a quite underdeveloped drivetrain. The play is rediculous, feeling like you ride an ICE with bad real wheel cushdampers. Real world range is more like 90 km/h / 50 miles. The one I rode clearly had a mechanical problem (clutch, clutch master cylinder or even the gearbox itself) so I didn’t buy it. 3 weeks ago I bought an Energica Esseesse9 which is completely in another class. But with its relatively low power and gearbox the Brammo was actually more my thing. What, among other things, made the Energica affordable? It is now also in trouble! Motorcyclist are just too conservative.
Dyno top speed is not reality on a road. The main force that stops vehicles/motorcycles from being faster is air resistance, and obviously on a dyno you don’t have any of that.
I don’t get all the electric bike hate. I have a lot of bikes and one of them is electric. It has 140 ft/lbs of torque. I love the electric and I ride it all the time. Now don’t get me wrong… if I could only have one bike it wouldn’t be electric. Luckily my loving wife parks in the driveway so I can fill the garage with man toys.
The problem bikes like this face when they go electric is aerodynamics of a bike is ... rough... and you can only put so much battery in them and they tend to not be able to charge fast either I believe. So if you plan on doing anything other than short rides you are out of luck. The most interesting electric 2 wheeler right now to me is the Stark Varg, but that does not really count, its a 122 kg motocross bike, not road legal and purely intended for sick jumps and powerslides on track, or you can take it on enduro rides. It has 60 or 80 hp and its a real monster or a bike with adjustable power settings so you can race gas bikes without leaving them for dead completely. I think electric bikes will be a thing, but for now atleast for anything going motorway speeds and longer distance, we are not there yet. But with the battery tech that is in the pipeline I think it wont be all too long, give it a few more years.

Thanks for the review on a great bike for its age. However I have to comment on your BLUETTI statements, since I feel its important for consumers to have realistic expectations on the power available from these types of devices. The idea of charging an electric motorcycle with a device whose total capacity is around 4000 wh not realistic as the pack on the Victory is 10400 wh, or more than 2.5 times the size of the BLUETTI. Is it a great device to bring along on a trip where you have a van to haul it and then using it to charge phones, cameras etc. or microwave some food? Absolutely, but for charging an Emotorcycle you will likely be disappointed in the results.
The 6speed is why it gets 140 mpc . These idiots doing electric vehicles today seem to have forgotten this. From cars to bikes.. sorta like the gold foil for space travel through the van allen belt. Very Important.

As a child i always enjoyed the electric vehicles that i owned (rc cars). Even at a young age i had charging anxiety and hated be limited by the batteries. As an adult i choose to avoid this. A five minute trip to the pump and I'm on the road again
Rc cars are moving away from nitro and into electric more and more, because they do not haul large loads it's ideal.
Camel City Mill best socks you will ever buy ! We'll worth it
That's a nice bike, i would buy one.
When they were a idea and coming out really wanted one but couldn't find one for the UK and I think that's we're it went wrong. As USA 2,800 miles long UK at it's longest 838 so good idea and bike just wrong place.
Hey Shaun, hit me up if you want another Brammo. I have a 2113 Empulse R in excellent condition.
Email me
Idk why manufactures of both ev cars and bikes don't put transmissions behind the motor. It makes sense to keep the ev motor turning at a optimum rpm for efficiency regardless of vehicle speed. EVs due worse on the highway due to the motor being wound out. Give it a transmission that can drop the motor rpm while holding speed and watch the range sky rocket.
I think I saw an ad for a Brammo last month
You can always count on sean releasing a video 3 hours later after craig either on bikes and beards or srk cycles
Im usually before him
Lol I'm here for it either way just glad to see consistent content
Watching this video as we speak seen craigs auction video this morning
Love that it has a clutch and gear box.
Yet he doesn't even use it most of the video.. 🤷🏻♂️
@IceTTom Dafuq he isn’t. 🤷🏻♂️
Long live internal combustion. ⛽️🏍️✅
Trix are for kids🔌...👎
Things change don't be that guy stuck in the mud
that seems like a great bike people would buy if it was priced reasonabily...no wonder it is discontinued.
I liked this video because its Sean but, I despise electric motorcycles.
Modern chargers can fast-charge to about 85% or so, then have to slow-charge the remainder. 85% will get you around.
Puts the thing back on the charger to go back out for a run -still didn't fix that mirror🤣🤣 Classic Shawn...... Yep OCD here. So? 😎
We don’t care about your OCD. We think that’s a “you”’problem.
“So?” 🙄
@@vincedibona4687 That wonky right mirror alone easily added 3 seconds to his 0-60 run if nothing else, never mind the thing flopping around hitting him on the nose🤣🤣
@@vincedibona4687 I care about his OCD, this seems like a "you" problem.
So? 😒
Would be a great commuter bike for me. I ride 20 miles one way to work. All highway.
Can i ride it?
IDK, can you?
@ thats what i am asking. Bc idk either. With permission yes i can. Without it i can not.
The 6speed is why it gets 140 mpc .
These idiots doing electric vehicles today seem to have forgotten this. From cars to bikes.. sorta like the gold foil for space travel through the van allen belt.
Very Important.
The live wire motor coupled to the gearbox would be crazy i bet.
Shouldn't you be working on your bike build off? Is this ever going to get done?
Hurricanes have a way of delaying things.
In black please
