All great advice. You can also look to buy running shoes that cover multiple things, you don’t necessarily need different shoes for all types of training (recovery, easy, tempo, track, long runs, etc). Also, the same things apply to running clothes, you don’t need to spend top money on expensive brands, look for cheaper options that come with good recommendations.
Much appreciated, I feel like we all need this even if we all know it already. Life can get overwhelming and sometimes we need to get back to basics and be sensible with spending especially when it comes to things we are passionate about
Indirect protip: If you live in a country where healthcare and health visits aren't free (Americans), you want to stay injury free. To keep in theme with the shoe buying theme of this video, have a rotation of at least two different shoes. 2015 study shows that runners that had a shoe rotation had a 39% reduction in injury risk (different gait, different muscles worked, etc).
Great video. I’ll further your point, if you live in Toronto Canada. Nike has an outlet at Dixie mall where I was able to buy brand new alphafly 2s for my wife for $109 dollars. Yes $109 down from the retail 375 they were at the time. I’ve also found invincibles 3s there for $69 Canadian dollars and vaporfly 3s for $140 Canadian dollars. All the inventory there is stock that needs to be rotated out of the main retailers. You can find shoes and clothing there from 30-75% off.
Can’t say enough about connections! Sometimes they share employee discounts/special Friends&Family VIP events passes (the ones that happen before the actual F&F) even for the new releases. Hope this helps!
It can be a challenge - my not-quite-wife has blessed me three burdens - my lesson - not everything needs a brand, but somethings last better if you pay more - find the balance 👍
If you keep looking and searching, you’ll find a good deal. Just don’t forget to save some money for when you get a good deal and shoe you like. 🤷🏻♂️🙈😆😆😆
