Thanks brother for being honest and direct about not being a coach. Alot of youtubers nowadays became instant coaches and throwing random stuff like it is an absolute fact without any background to back up their claims. Peace
It’s all transparency over here I’m even if it means looking less qualified. The whole point is that I’m just me through it all. Thanks for checking it out
HOT SHOES ARE THE WORST! I had that happen last week and yep-- I ended up with two new blisters. You make some great points here Aubrey. I'm very glad the hot weather is just about done-- now we can pull out those shoes that don't breathe well and keep running.
Heel to toe drop can have an effect on the parts of your body that are placed under stress during a run. Higher drop stresses the top of the leg, thighs, hips etc. Lower drop loads the lower leg, calves, ankles more. A carbon plate can be another factor that affects it... turning a higher drop shoe into 1 that stresses lower body not higher up.
Hi Aubrey and thanks for the video and please forgive me but I do feel I have to question you with this one. You do not need a specific long run shoe and certainly not one that costs £259. You can long run in any running shoe provided it fits your foot well and gives you the comfort and support you need. For example if you visit your local running store and they recommend the Brooks Ghost for you then you can do all your training including your long runs in that one shoe then take them to the marathon and you’ll see plenty of runners at the start line doing just that. My first 4 marathons I trained and ran the race in 100% Nike lunarglides the 5th in my Triumph 20’s. Of course you’re right though if you can afford it then you pay your money you take your choice. Thank you for your continued good work and I follow your progress toward Berlin with as much support as always. Ian
I always expect that through your engagement with my channel you will have questions and I’m always happy to be challenged and asked Ian… especially by people that actually follow my journey. My view on this video is simply to share with you all shoes that I have actually used and have ACTUALLY worked for me. I also emphasise at the end about needing to make sure your shoe is personal to you. YOUR running style, your physique, your budget and your preference. The aim was to only show the shoes I have actually used. Also… Berlin is going down!!!!
@ianlowe4126 Probably worth commenting that it's fine if someone wants to wear one shoe for everything, but if a runner isn't using a rotation they miss out on benefits related to if they did that. Wearing shoes with different drops changes the body area put under stress during a run. For some, this could be a factor in injury prevention. And multiple pairs of shoes may all last longer versus an identical number used in sequence.
Agree w/ the Neo Vista for sure. Have not tried the others. But the Neo has been a lot of fun to run in. Haven't taken it past 8 miles yet but may use it for a half marathon I've got this weekend.
Funny how the Cielo X1 aren’t here but Prime x Strung 2 made it … i felt the Strung 2s got a lot of mid to bad reviews but I guess just didnt match their running styles or weight
These 4 shoes are the shoes I used in my long runs. It’s a “top 4” video. Its simply telling you which shoes I used for my long runs in my Berlin marathon block

I normally don’t have station because I receive running shoes to review and use those shoes across different workout types to be able to comment on their versatility and currently I’m running in an unreleased shoe under embargo 🤫🤫🤫🤫
At the end of the day, if some people are doing their marathons in sandals, crocs, or barefoot, i think most of our daily trainers should be enough 😂😂😂😂
Oh really! I loved it and I ran in it during the heatwave and British summer we had. I actually didn’t mind it one bit and it worked well. Fair point though my man…. Apart from that… how do you find it
@AubreyRunning Easily one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever run in, but no matter what socks I wore, that upper just made my feet feel like they were on fire 😂 I sold mine on after purchasing the Superblast 2's 😎
@AubreyRunning It's a good offering from Asics but I'm currently on the hunt for another more comfortable "long run" shoe. Really want to try the Cielo X1 or one of your favourites Prime X 2 Strung

I hear you… but I’m not sure I’m with you about being glad the weather is changing to cold! 🥶
@@AubreyRunning I love running in the cold and rain. It’s so refreshing and oddly fulfilling.
@@EBoone503 as I say… I agree with you 99.99999% of the times, this is the 0.000001
@@AubreyRunning 🤣
Nice video! I’ve actually been using my SC Elite v4’s for long runs with pace.
Great shoe but comes up a little short for me and needs sizing up
The prime x string 2 in that colourway are just beautiful…. Such a comfy shoe, I’d size up half a size though!
They need to size down on the price 😂😂😂😂

Thanks for sharing! It’s insights like this that we all benefit from. Thank you so much!
@AubreyRunning no worries my friend 👍 Better understanding of the above can reduce injury risk

@@outerheaven8797 hi yes agree and I have a rotation it’s just that there are many runners out there who can’t afford more than one shoe
@@ianlowe4126 love this!
@@AubreyRunning good stuff 😃
The pain though of finding a great pair of shoes only to not be able to find them in your size again when you need to replace them!
I understand you completely. Even though I receive many shoes there aren’t many shoes that hit me as much as a few others
I'm one of those masochists who actually salivates over a very good, confidence-building long run, especially one with surges or fast finish. 🏃
I look forward to that day when I salivate
@@AubreyRunning You're well on your way. 👍
Good info bro, this is so informative.
No worries at all. It genuinely is my pleasure. Glad it helped
This feels like a real common sense video. Another good one for non elite but ambitious runners. 👍👍
Thank you so much… your support has been amazing!
My pick for long runs is the Superblast 2....waiting for your review anytime.
Not a bad shout but still don’t have it
done sub bro! thanks for your tips about shoes for long runs!
Thanks for the sub! Truly appreciated. 🫶
Great content. Keep up the inspiration!
Thank you so much and cheers for the feedback
Waiting for the drop of the glideride max for my next longrun shoe.
That shoe looks good for sure. Asics is not messing around this year

Easily my favourite daily trainer of 2024
Great shoes so ever. I possess none of them 😂. I have the Hurricane 24 or the Ride 17 or the Boston 12 for long runs. For the moment it’s enough
I actually loved the hurricane 24. Raced the Saucony 10K in them! Great shoe… needs a review as well
Prime X 2 strung is just the most fun time you can have on a run
Fully agreed… just the cost gives me a rash

Hi Aubrey. How are these compared to Nike Invincible 3 in terms of softness and cushion?
When it comes to comfort, no one competes with the Nike Invincible 3.

What other shoes are in your rotation currently?

Do not buy the Neo Vista if you want breathability 😂 Nice and comfortable, but jesus, my feet suffered because of that upper
