Nice video with concise explanation of team compositions in 1.0. I'm surprised the Bangboo wasn't part of the conversation here, as I believe they do have significant contribution to a fight. The Belabog Bangboo, Safety's standard drill attack, for example, has high amounts of flinch, thereby holding medium-sized enemies in place for more static DPS units like Anton. A team with Koleda, Ben and either Cryboo or Rocketboo have decent Bun buildup, which can enable an Anomaly-type third slot for Disorder procs. An adjacent topic I don't see much content for is team rotation, including regular swaps, quick assists and Chain Attack orders. I'd love to see your take on this, whether in an individual video, or in addition to your character guides. Keep up the good work!
Guoba always put team rotation on each character's guide video, all the individual character guide so far guoba made has the rotation and all that stuffs already, so i guess that's why he doesn't put that topic in this video as they already explain quite well and detailed on each of those character guide video
Just want to throw it out there m1 Rina is great in a double support comp. her buff stays out really long so she can be slotted in before Soukaku who has quick assist synergy while still buffing the dps alongside her. She doesn’t even need energy to buff either
I’m pretty much locked into double support since I don’t have either Lycaeon or Koleda. I find that Rina and Soukaku work decently but m1 would be great increase her buff uptime. I got her signature w-engine too instead of Ellen’s so she has that going for her. I tried pushing Shiyu yesterday before the reset, and managed to get to critical node 4 as a low spender who just hit IL-40 the same day. So in my experience yes, double support is viable.
I think an interesting direction to take the defense class in is to make them counter based main dps’s. How I think it could work is you wouldn’t run a stun unit in the team since you want the enemy to be attacking you, and in turn you can run an extra support for an even bigger payoff when you hit a counter
From seeing the next upcoming defense agent which is Seth I think the defense role is more of an all rounder role. I mean just look at Seth kit, he have your typical defense shield but he's also can support by debuffing enemy anomaly res and from some of the video I seen, Seth also does considerable daze not as good as dedicated stunner, but it's still good (especially in disorder team where you need 2 anomaly units) But I think that's the general idea for defense agents. Of course they can always go outside the box and make a "parry focus sub DPS" defense agent.
Nice video, thanks for the guide! I've gone with a bit of a strange team of Koleda/Lucy/Neko and it's been working out surprisingly well. The double Fire/Support combo makes building up stun really easy and Koleda is a beast in front. What's fascinating about her kit is that she has in-build dodges (if you use her default attack strings with no Ben) and can actually avoid about 80% or so of attacks WITHOUT dodging/parry. You can do the same WITH Ben and deal more damage but it's slow and timings are a bit off. If she's doing one of her jumping moves during the attack, nothing hits her! This includes both blue/orange attacks. I also use Rocketboo so Fire anomaly buildup and stagger is incredibly easy. For Neko, she's there to mop things up after the chain string is over. Her kit is so agile that while it's not the biggest numbers she's incredibly safe to play due to spacing. I invest in anything stun-related so in the endgame, if I can extend it by 10/15% that's a huge plus. I usually proc anomaly on Neko at the end of every damage dump. Really enjoying the game overall. There's a surprising amount of depth under the combat, it reminds me of older PS2 titles that don't beat you over the head with everything and let you figure it out. Oh and the 3 red piglets are hilarious.
Really hoping for a limited physical support that can help Neko out, I currently play her in the Nekp/Piper/Lucy team which is good, but definitely feels like its just kinda of making do instead of being a cohesive team.. And the hyper carry comp of Neko/Anby/Nicole is just straight up worse damage. Hoping she gets some love in the future because her playstyle is one of my favorites.
I recently beaten critical 7 B rank with S11/Piper/Lucy. A stunner is much better than Piper, specially now thats expensive to build basically two damage focused units, but it got the job done. I certainly am looking forward for a replacement, but for the time being, Piper works as a second DPS in that team
I was lucky enough to get Lycaon as my first standard banner S ranker and he has been at the front of like 90% of the teams I've used. He'll probably be my good ol reliable for a long time.
Day 14 of asking for Guobelle. I alternate between Lucy-S11-Koleda and Nicole-ZY-Anby, mainly because I don't have Rina for an Anton team, or a Piper/Nekomata for Anomaly teams. But hey, it's fun! Thanks for the guide Guoba
If Yanagi comes out as a dps I think she could work really well with grace and a support (most likely either Rina or Harumasa if he turns out to be a sup)
I have ellen, soukaku and lycaon which is great but i lack another good dps unit and now im experimenting with dps lucy, dps soukaku and ben on my second team and then filling in the ellen team with... someone... havent figured that out yet, but the dps support team actually feels really fun to play, they work off of each other so well and their dps feels pretty comparable to the meta ellen team if not just shy of it, and i just really enjoy the absurdity of a well functioning full support team

So basically I am not that close to doing this team building right, but I'm at least on the right track since I understand disorders/anomalies. I'm still only in chapter 2 with a level 30 team, so obviously I have much more time to improve my Agents and figure out the end game, but the challenge commissions, and hard mode story fights are already challenging me to rethink compositions. I was initially discounting my Corin, but I changed my tune when I got to a hard mode boss that I couldn't beat with Grace as my lead.
I have been thinking that for hypercarries/attackers who don't have additional stun benefits built into their team, perhaps they're meant to stay on field most of the time and just quickswap in supports for buffs and perhaps something like a defense unit which can combine burst stun with buffs. I don't know if I'm just coping because my only stun unit is Anby, but I was also thinking about what the purpose of defense units is.
My current main team is Grace, Piper, Lucy/Rina. I want to get Nekomata for a Neko, Piper, Lucy team when I only need one team. And Neko, Qingyi, Nicole for when I need a second team. I'd like to use Lucy more often but I need more fire and/or Sons of Calydon characters. So I will patiently for Burnice!
Pulled for Zhu to get the Zhu, Anby, Nicole going. Its been really fun. But not enough units to build a scary 2nd team afaik. Right now I'm working with Grace, Souk, Anton and hoping for the best LOL. Game has been really fun though. Even though I'm not fully maximizing basic combos for chars like Zhu. Really excited to see high level gameplay and how far ppl can go.
me spending time and effort optimizing a team for nekomata. use it on the shiyu defense (the only game mode that matters) it sucks because the stage specifically counters everything the team has pottery
With that Grace, Anton, Rina team, who should be on field when I do damage? So far I've been doing Grace on field and Anton as Pseudo stunner/DPS when his energy is full.
Can you explain if the order of your characters is important? For example left slot my attack character, middle slot my stun or anomaly character and left 3rd slot my support character can i put any order the characters or is very important which character class goes each slot?
I was able to get A in shiyu 17 with level 50 ellen soukaku nicole double support team with time of 3m 05 sec. I just use ellen and soukaku assist follow up to daze. I probably could do S if i was level 60.
Wouldn't 99%ing the first Anomaly be just positive edging? Since you Edge the first anomaly, swap off to 2nd to trigger and then proc the first again to frontload the damage ticks
So ... I didn´t find my answer here xD I have Qingyi and she is my main damager even tho she is a stun unit. Does that mean I´m missing out on damage somewhere? Also right now I´m using Rina and Anby with her and Anby (I love her) really doesn´t go well with the team. Also Qingyi has a different face (I don´t know how to explain it, but whe you´re choosing your team they have a "smile" face below each character). I´m also at a point where I´d like to build two teams. I have all A agents and only Qingyi and Rina from S Agents. Any help on what to do? Because I´m kinda lost at this point xD
I will try to give you some tips, that maybe can help you. First even if you are using Qingyi as your damage dealer, she wasn't made for that and you will sure feel that on hard missions (such as Shyu Defense), i would suggest to make this team instead Qingyi/Rina/Anton, this will be a Mono Electric team (cause everyone is electric type) and they all benefit from their skills. Second the "smile" face you are referecing is related to their Additional Ability wich Guoba talks about here 00:30. But basically it's an extra skill that will provide a buff to your characters but it needs to meet certain conditions to activate like, having two or more agents from the same faction on your team or having another Agent with the same type like two electrics. So when a character have your Additional Ability activated, you will have a smile face symbolizing that. Third, if you wants to build your second team i highly recommend Anby/Nicole/Billy, they are all from the same faction, so they will all have your Additional Ability activated and you will be able to play with Anby! :). Of course at the end of the day the most important thing is for you to see if you'll like the characters i recommended for you to play! If so just search some builds about them and done! You'll have your teams very balanced! Extra Tip: If you don't know what character you need to focus leveling up first, i level up them this way Dps Character/Stunner Character/Support Character. So always focus on your DPS character first, after that move on to your Stunner character and them ends it with the Support character! I hope this helps you! (sorry for the Wall Text, and also sorry if i wrote something wrong, english isn't my first language :P)

Anton is also an option, I'm just not a biggest fan of him from Belobog. 2. "Faces": I managed to figure that out yesterday and I felt a little dumb, it's so easy to understand xD 3. I might do Cunning hares team, since that's "the easiest" option, but I'm not the biggest fan of Nicole and Billy. I also have C5 Corin and she's just sitting there so I was thinking building a team around her. Or getting Jane Doe and give up on Qingyi dps but I just love that small baby too much to not see her on my screen all the time (I'm lost). heck yea teambuilding guide. currently using anton elec and ellen ice (with nicole replacing my nonexistant lycaon) but i def wanna know if i can optimize some slots or other teams
oh huh didnt know ben did ok stun dmg. might replace nicole for him, god not stunning enemies fast feels so exhausting cuz you have less downtime to just spam your rotations lol
On top of team building how do i go about combat optimally. Normally i stay on stun untill the chain starts then bring out the support into dps and burn the boss before rinse and repeating. Is that good or is there a more optimal way?
I think you’re going to need to weave in rotations without having the enemy stunned to help build energy and decibels. It may depend on the dps but some have a bit of ramp up. Like an Ellen going into a chain attack rotation with 0 energy, no stacks and no burst is totally different from one who has all of it and is rearing to go. Nekomata is my 2nd DPS and she feels a lot more flexible when it comes to rotations. She would like someone to have procced Assault recently (or be close to herself) and enter the field through a quick assist for best value but she doesn’t build up in the same way Ellen does.
This gonna be a small essay from me🤣 Everyone has their own preferred playstyle. I don't know where you at in shiyu defense, your skills or mechanics and your characters. But as the one who cleared shiyu defense twice (included the one that just refreshed) as f2p, i will give you some of my personal opinions or thoughts. The ZZZ's contents on youtube are lack of shiyu defense's video so you probably lacking references on how to play optimally (I meant videos of players that has insane skills or mechanics of this game). I sometimes watch the other people's video and livestream clear on Bilibili (CN players), some CN streamer basically help their viewer clearing shiyu defense, even if the viewer's acc not that good, the streamer can still go very far and get good rating on shiyu with their skills and knowledges on grouping, rotation, not doing unnecessary chain attack, etc. Basically right now aside from Qing Yi, other stunners have 0 dmg. So your playstyle is NOT optimal imo IF you're playing a main DPS like Ellen and Soldier 11. For these 2 if you just running stunner on field all the time and only swap to your dps when they're stunned then you are actually wasting dps and time. Hell even parrying or chain attack can be a dps loss compared to dodging and not optimal but all these things are situational (depending on team comp as well) and need experience, so if you not already clear shiyu defense already just go get your ass whooped and you will get good and learn how to actually do proper rotation, when to parry, when you need stunner, constantly buffing you team with support not just when enemy is stunned, etc. What I said is mostly apply to the main DPS type like Ellen and Soldier 11, these 2 are the most straightforward. As for the "burst DPS" and anomaly team comps, their rotation are a bit different or more complicated (especially for some anomaly teams) compared to normal DPS because for example the burst DPS they more heavily rely on stunner like Zhu Yuan, because these DPS don't really do that much dmg if the enemy is not stunned compared to main DPS, BUT like i just said the current stunners doesn't have dmg so running them on field still losing some DPS, hence why mihoyo introduce an on-field stunner that can do a bit of dmg like Qing Yi so you can pair her with Zhu Yuan. Let Qing Yi on field but you won't loss dps and can stun enemy quicker, then when enemy stunned let Zhu Yuan out and burst them down. Stunner like Qing Yi can pair very well with other DPS that has short burst like Anton as well. Sorry for all the yapping, i'm not sure if I actually answer your question. *TLDR* , the most optimal combat is learn how to grouping, how to dodge, know when is necessary to parry, when u actually need stunner on field (except someone like Qing Yi, but still not sure about her DPS yet), know what and when chain attack is necessary (also the order of the chain attack), etc. I think that's all about it from my personal experience :)
Since you mention anton’s team comp 4:40 it’d be great if you could provide us with some sort of anton guide since he is one of the most accesible dps units for f2ps. I’d like to understand why he does not run well with stun+support since currently im running him with rina and anby😭
I mean that team comp is fine. But his team synergy buff is that he does extra damage when the enemy is shocked. And grace is the best shocker. That's all you gotta pay attention to. If you don't think that team applies shock enough you could potentially put Anomaly Mastery on Rina's 6th slot.
Your team comp is def fine, it just that Anton deal more dmg when enemy is shocked. Anton, grace and rina is def a bit overhyped imo, and most player prob don't have both grace and rina together. But just make sure your Anton has good energy regen, he quite useless without the EX special. If you somehow have m1 grace, then she's pretty good with anton since her m1 can help regenerate party energy.
You know what i really wanna know? Is there any cases when 3 2pc sets with better stats are better then 4pc set but bad stats. Like not in the perfect burst case but over all dmg. Like if it;s only 10% worse i would rather just stick with 3 sets.
So after watching the video I noticed you didn't mention bangboos. Are they not that impactful for teams or will there be an ultimate bangboo guide in the future? ^^
honestly bangboo isn't that impactful, it's a nice to have but not game changing. But yeah some bangboo can be really helpful for something like grouping, energy regeneration and anomaly build up. Having good drive discs and characters are more impactful. Unless they release some really OP bangboo that can increase dmg of the team like the buffs in the hollow zero😂 but realistically speaking they won't do that.
So I have Nekomata, and Piper, and Lucy as well. However i already have Nicole built and M6. Lucy I haven't touched yet. Who would you run with that team setup Nicole or Lucy?
I'm currently pondering what my second team for now should be. My first team is Soukaku, Ellen, Anby. Obviously I'm going for Lycaon for the guaranteed S-Rank at 300 pulls if I don't get him before that. Sadly Anby is my only Stun unit so far. I got all A-Ranks, other S-Ranks I have are Zhu Yuan and Rina (M1, because I got her two times already -.-). I am F2P btw. I really wanna build around Zhu Yuan for now, I really love her playstyle. Should I go for Nicole and Anby (and find a replacement for my Ellen team) or rather try out Lucy and Piper?

I don't have grace so I'm curious how well these team actually is. I haven't tackle the end game stuff yet but so far I been good with Rina, Anton, and Anby (Full electric team). But sometimes if I feel bored I switch Anton for Ellen instead (because I'm missing Lycaon for her team) I say it's a very interesting team so you do you.
I don’t have Grace but I’d imagine you’re better off with Soukaku. That’s the team I’m running and it works well for me. Although Ellen with signature w-engine and 4 Woodpecker, and Butler instead of Sharkboo might be different.
@@jct0010 Already did some tuning and it does actually work very nicely. By building some anomaly on Ellen's 6 disc and using the ice bangboos, she builds up very fast. My grace builds lots of anomaly as well. My ellen also deals lots of damage on her own so the team synergizes very well.

it's a useless question, there's no guarantee future proof in gacha, you or us players are all at the mercy of devs, they can easily fuck any characters or team comps at their will.
other than soukaku's, some quick assists activate from long range attacks (Lucy, Rina and Nicole) so having your melee DPS instantly teleport beside the opponent via quick assist would save time from walking/dashing if you are far away
I would run Nicole instead of Sokaku for Ellen just for the fact that nicole animation is 1 secons compare to sokaku 10 years. I think to make sokaku worth over Nicole is to build her dmg to make up for the long ass animation.

I build almost all my characters and now my main team is under leveled and have shit disc drive. Team 1 : ellen, anby, soukaku Team 2 : zhu yuan, ben, nicole Team 3 : soldier 11, ben, lucy Team 4 : anton, anby, rina Team 5 : nekomata, piper, lucy Only managed to clear shiyu defense 14 before the reset. At least all of them are fun to play lol
Sounds like you’re sleeping on double support teams potential. Highlighting overlapping buffs that don’t do much when you could be highlighting 2 supports that work really well together instead. Ellen Nicole Lucy for example is the team I used to clear sd critical node 7. The clear time was 3m 15s on their side. Ellen doesn’t need a stunner because of her parry builds up stun meter so fast on top of her other abilities. Separating skk from Ellen and putting in Lucy didn’t negatively impact my clear time. But what it did do was significantly increase the clear time of my other team by over 80s. Which Lucy did not do for them lol. That’s because I ran dps Soukaku. And with that I was able to clear the critical nodes at a score of SSSAABB without ever farming drives. And Soukaku was wearing swing jazz set with 20/60 Crit value. They weren’t even build for dps lol. But I do know of players who duoed all of shiyu defense with the same score same using lycaon with a dps built Soukaku. All of this is Ofc at lvl 50 and not 50-60 ascended and no whale char or anything suss.
The game doesn’t tell us anything about hypercarry and it doesn’t even tell us the guide like you do(I guess). It’s just tiresome and frustrating for gacha beginners who are trying to have fun in this game but face these trials and tribulations where you have your brains 🧠 being destroyed by various people who are just spewing nonsense or just hearing too much information that gives you burnout at the end.I have played through the main story,the Jane Doe story and The Caesar King story,so I know what I am saying in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
Coping real hard rn cuz i got only Anby as a dedicated stun agent and she is better slotted in Zhu Yuan team. So my Ellen is either taking Ben as a stunner or just throw in Grace to be a damage dealer with little on-field time and just not care about stunning... Such a dilemma.

I invest in anything stun-related so in the endgame, if I can extend it by 10/15% that's a huge plus. I usually proc anomaly on Neko at the end of every damage dump.
Really enjoying the game overall. There's a surprising amount of depth under the combat, it reminds me of older PS2 titles that don't beat you over the head with everything and let you figure it out. Oh and the 3 red piglets are hilarious.

Really hoping for a limited physical support that can help Neko out, I currently play her in the Nekp/Piper/Lucy team which is good, but definitely feels like its just kinda of making do instead of being a cohesive team.. And the hyper carry comp of Neko/Anby/Nicole is just straight up worse damage. Hoping she gets some love in the future because her playstyle is one of my favorites.
A future Neko/Jane Doe/new physical support will be insane.

I recently beaten critical 7 B rank with S11/Piper/Lucy. A stunner is much better than Piper, specially now thats expensive to build basically two damage focused units, but it got the job done. I certainly am looking forward for a replacement, but for the time being, Piper works as a second DPS in that team

I was lucky enough to get Lycaon as my first standard banner S ranker and he has been at the front of like 90% of the teams I've used. He'll probably be my good ol reliable for a long time.

I alternate between Lucy-S11-Koleda and Nicole-ZY-Anby, mainly because I don't have Rina for an Anton team, or a Piper/Nekomata for Anomaly teams.

If Yanagi comes out as a dps I think she could work really well with grace and a support (most likely either Rina or Harumasa if he turns out to be a sup)
I have ellen, soukaku and lycaon which is great but i lack another good dps unit and now im experimenting with dps lucy, dps soukaku and ben on my second team and then filling in the ellen team with... someone... havent figured that out yet, but the dps support team actually feels really fun to play, they work off of each other so well and their dps feels pretty comparable to the meta ellen team if not just shy of it, and i just really enjoy the absurdity of a well functioning full support team
A niche that's cropped up recently is Soldier/Support (Lucy/Koleda)/EMPTY comps to force Bangboo chains on smaller enemies.

So basically I am not that close to doing this team building right, but I'm at least on the right track since I understand disorders/anomalies. I'm still only in chapter 2 with a level 30 team, so obviously I have much more time to improve my Agents and figure out the end game, but the challenge commissions, and hard mode story fights are already challenging me to rethink compositions. I was initially discounting my Corin, but I changed my tune when I got to a hard mode boss that I couldn't beat with Grace as my lead.

I have been thinking that for hypercarries/attackers who don't have additional stun benefits built into their team, perhaps they're meant to stay on field most of the time and just quickswap in supports for buffs and perhaps something like a defense unit which can combine burst stun with buffs. I don't know if I'm just coping because my only stun unit is Anby, but I was also thinking about what the purpose of defense units is.
My current main team is Grace, Piper, Lucy/Rina.
I want to get Nekomata for a Neko, Piper, Lucy team when I only need one team. And Neko, Qingyi, Nicole for when I need a second team.
I'd like to use Lucy more often but I need more fire and/or Sons of Calydon characters. So I will patiently for Burnice!
Pulled for Zhu to get the Zhu, Anby, Nicole going. Its been really fun.
But not enough units to build a scary 2nd team afaik. Right now I'm working with Grace, Souk, Anton and hoping for the best LOL.
Game has been really fun though. Even though I'm not fully maximizing basic combos for chars like Zhu. Really excited to see high level gameplay and how far ppl can go.

Can you explain if the order of your characters is important? For example left slot my attack character, middle slot my stun or anomaly character and left 3rd slot my support character can i put any order the characters or is very important which character class goes each slot?

grace and seth are probably her best team based on her kit and speculation. Or piper lucy, nekomata nicole, piper nicole, grace rina, etc.
I was able to get A in shiyu 17 with level 50 ellen soukaku nicole double support team with time of 3m 05 sec. I just use ellen and soukaku assist follow up to daze. I probably could do S if i was level 60.
Anyone know if it’d be worth it to run anomaly mastery instead of attack on an Anton’s 6 disk so he can trigger his passive?
Wouldn't 99%ing the first Anomaly be just positive edging? Since you Edge the first anomaly, swap off to 2nd to trigger and then proc the first again to frontload the damage ticks

I have Qingyi and she is my main damager even tho she is a stun unit. Does that mean I´m missing out on damage somewhere? Also right now I´m using Rina and Anby with her and Anby (I love her) really doesn´t go well with the team. Also Qingyi has a different face (I don´t know how to explain it, but whe you´re choosing your team they have a "smile" face below each character). I´m also at a point where I´d like to build two teams. I have all A agents and only Qingyi and Rina from S Agents.
Any help on what to do? Because I´m kinda lost at this point xD
I will try to give you some tips, that maybe can help you.
First even if you are using Qingyi as your damage dealer, she wasn't made for that and you will sure feel that on hard missions (such as Shyu Defense), i would suggest to make this team instead Qingyi/Rina/Anton, this will be a Mono Electric team (cause everyone is electric type) and they all benefit from their skills.
Second the "smile" face you are referecing is related to their Additional Ability wich Guoba talks about here 00:30. But basically it's an extra skill that will provide a buff to your characters but it needs to meet certain conditions to activate like, having two or more agents from the same faction on your team or having another Agent with the same type like two electrics. So when a character have your Additional Ability activated, you will have a smile face symbolizing that.
Third, if you wants to build your second team i highly recommend Anby/Nicole/Billy, they are all from the same faction, so they will all have your Additional Ability activated and you will be able to play with Anby! :).
Of course at the end of the day the most important thing is for you to see if you'll like the characters i recommended for you to play! If so just search some builds about them and done! You'll have your teams very balanced!
Extra Tip: If you don't know what character you need to focus leveling up first, i level up them this way Dps Character/Stunner Character/Support Character. So always focus on your DPS character first, after that move on to your Stunner character and them ends it with the Support character!

1. My team: I was thinking of exchanging Anby with Seth. He's from PubSec and Electro and Rina's additional ability will be active too. Anton is also an option, I'm just not a biggest fan of him from Belobog.
2. "Faces": I managed to figure that out yesterday and I felt a little dumb, it's so easy to understand xD
3. I might do Cunning hares team, since that's "the easiest" option, but I'm not the biggest fan of Nicole and Billy. I also have C5 Corin and she's just sitting there so I was thinking building a team around her. Or getting Jane Doe and give up on Qingyi dps but I just love that small baby too much to not see her on my screen all the time (I'm lost).

On top of team building how do i go about combat optimally. Normally i stay on stun untill the chain starts then bring out the support into dps and burn the boss before rinse and repeating. Is that good or is there a more optimal way?
I think you’re going to need to weave in rotations without having the enemy stunned to help build energy and decibels. It may depend on the dps but some have a bit of ramp up. Like an Ellen going into a chain attack rotation with 0 energy, no stacks and no burst is totally different from one who has all of it and is rearing to go. Nekomata is my 2nd DPS and she feels a lot more flexible when it comes to rotations. She would like someone to have procced Assault recently (or be close to herself) and enter the field through a quick assist for best value but she doesn’t build up in the same way Ellen does.
This gonna be a small essay from me🤣
Everyone has their own preferred playstyle. I don't know where you at in shiyu defense, your skills or mechanics and your characters. But as the one who cleared shiyu defense twice (included the one that just refreshed) as f2p, i will give you some of my personal opinions or thoughts. The ZZZ's contents on youtube are lack of shiyu defense's video so you probably lacking references on how to play optimally (I meant videos of players that has insane skills or mechanics of this game). I sometimes watch the other people's video and livestream clear on Bilibili (CN players), some CN streamer basically help their viewer clearing shiyu defense, even if the viewer's acc not that good, the streamer can still go very far and get good rating on shiyu with their skills and knowledges on grouping, rotation, not doing unnecessary chain attack, etc. Basically right now aside from Qing Yi, other stunners have 0 dmg. So your playstyle is NOT optimal imo IF you're playing a main DPS like Ellen and Soldier 11. For these 2 if you just running stunner on field all the time and only swap to your dps when they're stunned then you are actually wasting dps and time. Hell even parrying or chain attack can be a dps loss compared to dodging and not optimal but all these things are situational (depending on team comp as well) and need experience, so if you not already clear shiyu defense already just go get your ass whooped and you will get good and learn how to actually do proper rotation, when to parry, when you need stunner, constantly buffing you team with support not just when enemy is stunned, etc.
What I said is mostly apply to the main DPS type like Ellen and Soldier 11, these 2 are the most straightforward. As for the "burst DPS" and anomaly team comps, their rotation are a bit different or more complicated (especially for some anomaly teams) compared to normal DPS because for example the burst DPS they more heavily rely on stunner like Zhu Yuan, because these DPS don't really do that much dmg if the enemy is not stunned compared to main DPS, BUT like i just said the current stunners doesn't have dmg so running them on field still losing some DPS, hence why mihoyo introduce an on-field stunner that can do a bit of dmg like Qing Yi so you can pair her with Zhu Yuan. Let Qing Yi on field but you won't loss dps and can stun enemy quicker, then when enemy stunned let Zhu Yuan out and burst them down. Stunner like Qing Yi can pair very well with other DPS that has short burst like Anton as well.
Sorry for all the yapping, i'm not sure if I actually answer your question. *TLDR* , the most optimal combat is learn how to grouping, how to dodge, know when is necessary to parry, when u actually need stunner on field (except someone like Qing Yi, but still not sure about her DPS yet), know what and when chain attack is necessary (also the order of the chain attack), etc. I think that's all about it from my personal experience :)
Since you mention anton’s team comp 4:40 it’d be great if you could provide us with some sort of anton guide since he is one of the most accesible dps units for f2ps. I’d like to understand why he does not run well with stun+support since currently im running him with rina and anby😭
I mean that team comp is fine. But his team synergy buff is that he does extra damage when the enemy is shocked. And grace is the best shocker. That's all you gotta pay attention to. If you don't think that team applies shock enough you could potentially put Anomaly Mastery on Rina's 6th slot.
Your team comp is def fine, it just that Anton deal more dmg when enemy is shocked. Anton, grace and rina is def a bit overhyped imo, and most player prob don't have both grace and rina together. But just make sure your Anton has good energy regen, he quite useless without the EX special. If you somehow have m1 grace, then she's pretty good with anton since her m1 can help regenerate party energy.

Is there any cases when 3 2pc sets with better stats are better then 4pc set but bad stats.
Like not in the perfect burst case but over all dmg. Like if it;s only 10% worse i would rather just stick with 3 sets.

So after watching the video I noticed you didn't mention bangboos. Are they not that impactful for teams or will there be an ultimate bangboo guide in the future? ^^
honestly bangboo isn't that impactful, it's a nice to have but not game changing. But yeah some bangboo can be really helpful for something like grouping, energy regeneration and anomaly build up. Having good drive discs and characters are more impactful. Unless they release some really OP bangboo that can increase dmg of the team like the buffs in the hollow zero😂 but realistically speaking they won't do that.
So I have Nekomata, and Piper, and Lucy as well. However i already have Nicole built and M6. Lucy I haven't touched yet. Who would you run with that team setup Nicole or Lucy?
I'm currently pondering what my second team for now should be.
My first team is Soukaku, Ellen, Anby. Obviously I'm going for Lycaon for the guaranteed S-Rank at 300 pulls if I don't get him before that.
Sadly Anby is my only Stun unit so far. I got all A-Ranks, other S-Ranks I have are Zhu Yuan and Rina (M1, because I got her two times already -.-). I am F2P btw.
I really wanna build around Zhu Yuan for now, I really love her playstyle. Should I go for Nicole and Anby (and find a replacement for my Ellen team) or rather try out Lucy and Piper?

I don't have grace so I'm curious how well these team actually is. I haven't tackle the end game stuff yet but so far I been good with Rina, Anton, and Anby (Full electric team). But sometimes if I feel bored I switch Anton for Ellen instead (because I'm missing Lycaon for her team)

I don’t have Grace but I’d imagine you’re better off with Soukaku. That’s the team I’m running and it works well for me. Although Ellen with signature w-engine and 4 Woodpecker, and Butler instead of Sharkboo might be different.
grace is useless in this team, better off just run Ellen and Rina only lol. Or just put any stunner or other support
@@jct0010 Already did some tuning and it does actually work very nicely. By building some anomaly on Ellen's 6 disc and using the ice bangboos, she builds up very fast. My grace builds lots of anomaly as well.
My ellen also deals lots of damage on her own so the team synergizes very well.

it's a useless question, there's no guarantee future proof in gacha, you or us players are all at the mercy of devs, they can easily fuck any characters or team comps at their will.

what is even the point of quick assist when you can just manually swap faster? other then triggering certain effects like starlight engines passive.
other than soukaku's, some quick assists activate from long range attacks (Lucy, Rina and Nicole) so having your melee DPS instantly teleport beside the opponent via quick assist would save time from walking/dashing if you are far away

I would run Nicole instead of Sokaku for Ellen just for the fact that nicole animation is 1 secons compare to sokaku 10 years. I think to make sokaku worth over Nicole is to build her dmg to make up for the long ass animation.

I build almost all my characters and now my main team is under leveled and have shit disc drive.
Team 1 : ellen, anby, soukaku
Team 2 : zhu yuan, ben, nicole
Team 3 : soldier 11, ben, lucy
Team 4 : anton, anby, rina
Team 5 : nekomata, piper, lucy
Only managed to clear shiyu defense 14 before the reset. At least all of them are fun to play lol

Sounds like you’re sleeping on double support teams potential. Highlighting overlapping buffs that don’t do much when you could be highlighting 2 supports that work really well together instead. Ellen Nicole Lucy for example is the team I used to clear sd critical node 7. The clear time was 3m 15s on their side. Ellen doesn’t need a stunner because of her parry builds up stun meter so fast on top of her other abilities. Separating skk from Ellen and putting in Lucy didn’t negatively impact my clear time. But what it did do was significantly increase the clear time of my other team by over 80s. Which Lucy did not do for them lol. That’s because I ran dps Soukaku. And with that I was able to clear the critical nodes at a score of SSSAABB without ever farming drives. And Soukaku was wearing swing jazz set with 20/60 Crit value. They weren’t even build for dps lol. But I do know of players who duoed all of shiyu defense with the same score same using lycaon with a dps built Soukaku. All of this is Ofc at lvl 50 and not 50-60 ascended and no whale char or anything suss.

The game doesn’t tell us anything about hypercarry and it doesn’t even tell us the guide like you do(I guess). It’s just tiresome and frustrating for gacha beginners who are trying to have fun in this game but face these trials and tribulations where you have your brains 🧠 being destroyed by various people who are just spewing nonsense or just hearing too much information that gives you burnout at the end.I have played through the main story,the Jane Doe story and The Caesar King story,so I know what I am saying in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
Coping real hard rn cuz i got only Anby as a dedicated stun agent and she is better slotted in Zhu Yuan team. So my Ellen is either taking Ben as a stunner or just throw in Grace to be a damage dealer with little on-field time and just not care about stunning... Such a dilemma.
