ZZZ is just a perfected HI3 to me. And HI3 is my personal HYV favorite. Yes, I know it's an older gacha. But HI3 is where my heart lies. So more excited for this than I was for HSR or GI. Like Anomaly reminds me a lot of the way elemental build-ups worked in HI3. A lot of the combo-based characters remind me of Fu Hua's battlesuits. Rina's off-field capabilities are reminiscent of Aponia. The punk aesthetic combined with the Jet Set Radio-like music helps a lot too

Definitely the best of these I’ve seen. I play all the Hoyo games but I also have a history with fighting games, so your breakdowns of the combat in this game have been the most informative for me. It’s a good niche in this community, so I’m glad you’re here to do what you do

If i get Nekomata awesome she really reminds me of Taokaka from BlazBlue play style wise that's all i need as for re-roiling naa I'm good. Prefer to play the game with witch ever drops and get all normal char down the line from the garbage 50/50 losses anyways.

There was never a hybrid role for charactera like rina she was either anomoly or support and given that she always had the pen ratio buff she was most likely always a support that just had anomoly like elements to her that you needed to invest into. If im not mistaken she can only function like a pseudo anomoly unit because her dolls hit so fast and for a long time that just investing into that side of her gives her some of the pote tial damage that grace is able to provide just at a lower efficiency
Love this video and I’m looking forward to your future content, but the way you keep referencing fighting games is so out of place and as someone who plays the fighting games you reference the comparisons barely hold at all, so hopefully you find better methods of comparison in the future. The mechanics you describe and showcase remind me more of stuff you see in action games like DMC/Bayonetta/Musou games like warriors Orochi, etc. Once again great video, just wanted to point that out since the comparison just feels out of place when this is common action game mechanics.

Do people who play fighting games think they the only people on the planet who can press one button more slowly than other buttons? EVERY video for ZZZ is just fighting game players telling us how they fighting game players... Genshin players been doing dash cancels and rotations for years now, knowing when to press buttons and which team mates to switch to is something we do in our sleep.
That's great and all but that's not Iyo's point. ZZZ doesn't have rotations, elemental reactions, switching is more complicated affaris since tied to several mechanics that have resources, you build debuffs and elemental mage like in elden ring combat flow is far combat orientation with multiple characters hidden or unique baked in their kits beyond their initial specialization. None of this is to say Genshin is bad, but that ZZZ is fundamentally different from due to being more technical and having stronger potential for better skill expression. So you can't just transfers your skills for Genshin and assume the gameplay the same way.
As someone who played fighting games my whole life and a genshin player, I would say that the game play in zzz is way simpler than both. It’s just a lil parry, dodge action and remembering different characters playstyle. It’s extremely easy after you just remember a few things. A fun game to play on my steam deck in bed.

No it's the same mechanic as in HSR where you can choose a 5-Star after 300 standard pulls. Since the video has been out for 3 days maybe they just speculated there'd be a "choose your 5-Star" banner like in WuWa.
I just started playing the game yesterday. I saw Nekomata and was able to demo her move set and immediately wanted her. So I rolled for her.... and rolled for her..... and rolled for her.... nothing. Got a lot of the others, but no kitty. So I ran out of rolls and went back to playing the game.... and the story gave her to me anyway. LOL Very fun game. Genshin was fun for a bit but it didn't click with me like this one did right out of the gate for some reason.

Were my ears just plugged up, or did you never actually say who pairs well with Rina? You talked about what makes her good, but you didn't really get into what makes a good team for her to be in. Does she go well in pretty much any sort of comp? I would presume that since she provides off-field buffs, it's a good idea to put a main dps in there to take advantage of it, but who among the 4-stars fits that bill? Asking because she was my 40-pull freebie and re-rolls aren't my thing. (Edit): oops, I did not click on the video I thought I had clicked on; that's why I was confused!
I got the wolf guy off a lucky roll when trying to get my 50 rolls for guaranteed A class, he's pretty good i like him. I will say this that I got PIPER and CORIN and for A rank units they are RIDICULOUS in the early stages of the game, I just took out the dead end reaper and didnt even break a sweat, corrin builds up the knockdown meter so fast and piper just did some crazy damage with Her E skill. If you're not lucky enough to get an S rank but still want good character choice i'd say go for Piper or Corin.
A lot of the Genshin players coming into ZZZ will probably understand switch teching just fine since thats how you effeciently play characters in Genshin. Its the same with Honkai Impact too im pretty sure but i havent played Honkai in YEARS. Now the word idk cause i never heard switch teching before this video lol. Granted i only say this because i assume 75% of the playerbase will already be players that are in the hoyoverse sphere just because thats obviously how it works.
I was lucky enough to get Lycan as my 5 star after 40 pulls, and he's definitely strong, but I feel like I'm not playing him that well. Like I don't know when to switch combos or when to use my skill to really keep him going. I was able to get Ben, and I like his counter playstyle, so I'm probably going to get Koleda at 300 since they work well together. Thanks for the guide!
I will be forced to focus on 5 stars characters again. 😢 Sometimes, I wish gacha games to have the same aspect as Wuwa towards 4*: secretly OP, really useful with amazing gameplay. I don't want to focus on 5* to clear many contents. Cool video, by the way. 😊
not going to lie i still am not sure which character to pick but i am a very big fan of peak aggression-think Painwhee and Umbrellal in Skullgirls or No. 21 (both her normal version and her feral one; a lot more her feral one however) in Punishing Gray Raven, or multiple characters in super ultimate smash bros such as kazuya, donkey kong and steve i am not so much focused on how much damage i can deal so long as i can rend or blast enemies with reckless abandon (while still trying to avoid or parry attacks; just not worrying about anything else besides dodging and constant attacking)
Whats ZZZmy friend plays on ps5 /search... Already lost interresst on this game. u: To fast combat & hackn slay mode. Games like this results in tedious gameplay that bores quick! Already can imagine boss enemys as HP sponges. Not my taste.

Why do you keep drawing comparisons to fighting games when it's barely even applicable? You say Grace is high execution and your reasoning is that you can press her skill button between any number of basic attacks. What kind of execution barrier even is that? You also say Soldier 11 timing basic attacks to get the effect of their skill without spending it. This is like basic mechanics that exist in almost any other action game. You're making it sound way harder than it is for no reason.

HRS the first 5star I got was Gepard. And in ZZZ i got the dog dude out of all the available girls on the list. FucK my luck my desire to play this game got ruined.

I got Grace from the standard and got lucky w/ the cop chick from the special rolls and they are always on my team. They are incredible lol, even if they might not technically synergize well. I like both
You can mash in this game and play like your not matching as well. Any character can be played at their best with mashing. I been playing games like this since Honkai 3rd Impact. This games gameplay is bayonetta on easy mode.
So only bad players who don’t know what they are doing use assist chains and blocks (which is an upgradable part of the kit that is also free damage and has its own affects for each character) because they dont have true “skill”

Very good video! It‘s really informative and goes more deeper into the mechanics of each character. I really like those comparisons to fighting games and its mechanics. One suggestion: whenever you mention other fighting games, it would be cool if you put in a scene or video footage of that game inside the video, so the comparison is visualized and the similarities are more noticeable. But overall very good explained!

When he says choose he means randomly obtained at 40 rolls in the standard banner. You can only choose at 300 Pulls on the standard banner.
If you're dedicated enough you can choose whatever you want.

None of this is to say Genshin is bad, but that ZZZ is fundamentally different from due to being more technical and having stronger potential for better skill expression. So you can't just transfers your skills for Genshin and assume the gameplay the same way.
As someone who played fighting games my whole life and a genshin player, I would say that the game play in zzz is way simpler than both. It’s just a lil parry, dodge action and remembering different characters playstyle. It’s extremely easy after you just remember a few things. A fun game to play on my steam deck in bed.

as a fighting game player I love all the little tech like the plink or the hidden move of nicole, I really hope when the game is out we will find a lot of this :)

No it's the same mechanic as in HSR where you can choose a 5-Star after 300 standard pulls.
Since the video has been out for 3 days maybe they just speculated there'd be a "choose your 5-Star" banner like in WuWa.

I just started playing the game yesterday. I saw Nekomata and was able to demo her move set and immediately wanted her. So I rolled for her.... and rolled for her..... and rolled for her.... nothing. Got a lot of the others, but no kitty. So I ran out of rolls and went back to playing the game.... and the story gave her to me anyway. LOL Very fun game. Genshin was fun for a bit but it didn't click with me like this one did right out of the gate for some reason.
I got Lycaon in the beta so i'll be happy with anyone but him

Were my ears just plugged up, or did you never actually say who pairs well with Rina? You talked about what makes her good, but you didn't really get into what makes a good team for her to be in. Does she go well in pretty much any sort of comp? I would presume that since she provides off-field buffs, it's a good idea to put a main dps in there to take advantage of it, but who among the 4-stars fits that bill?
Asking because she was my 40-pull freebie and re-rolls aren't my thing.

I got the wolf guy off a lucky roll when trying to get my 50 rolls for guaranteed A class, he's pretty good i like him. I will say this that I got PIPER and CORIN and for A rank units they are RIDICULOUS in the early stages of the game, I just took out the dead end reaper and didnt even break a sweat, corrin builds up the knockdown meter so fast and piper just did some crazy damage with Her E skill. If you're not lucky enough to get an S rank but still want good character choice i'd say go for Piper or Corin.

A lot of the Genshin players coming into ZZZ will probably understand switch teching just fine since thats how you effeciently play characters in Genshin. Its the same with Honkai Impact too im pretty sure but i havent played Honkai in YEARS. Now the word idk cause i never heard switch teching before this video lol.
Granted i only say this because i assume 75% of the playerbase will already be players that are in the hoyoverse sphere just because thats obviously how it works.
I was lucky enough to get Lycan as my 5 star after 40 pulls, and he's definitely strong, but I feel like I'm not playing him that well. Like I don't know when to switch combos or when to use my skill to really keep him going.
I was able to get Ben, and I like his counter playstyle, so I'm probably going to get Koleda at 300 since they work well together. Thanks for the guide!

not going to lie i still am not sure which character to pick but i am a very big fan of peak aggression-think Painwhee and Umbrellal in Skullgirls or No. 21 (both her normal version and her feral one; a lot more her feral one however) in Punishing Gray Raven, or multiple characters in super ultimate smash bros such as kazuya, donkey kong and steve
i am not so much focused on how much damage i can deal so long as i can rend or blast enemies with reckless abandon (while still trying to avoid or parry attacks; just not worrying about anything else besides dodging and constant attacking)

Why do you keep drawing comparisons to fighting games when it's barely even applicable? You say Grace is high execution and your reasoning is that you can press her skill button between any number of basic attacks. What kind of execution barrier even is that? You also say Soldier 11 timing basic attacks to get the effect of their skill without spending it. This is like basic mechanics that exist in almost any other action game. You're making it sound way harder than it is for no reason.

100%! You're gonna need Lycaon to finish off that team though and Grace won't get her core passive activated, but Ellen and Lycaon will.
All standard 5* are good and you can build team around them. We don't choose what we get from the beginners banner.

Im loving how all of these s ranked agents are so good but there’s some that look like they do so much and others that look like they don’t do good like lycaon the way he fights makes me think he’s doing a lot (idk if he is) but rina her movement is so slow but her bang boos are fast make me think rina don’t do much (idk if she is) but I want to make a team that is ice type I love ice type characters in every game I play so like lycaon he is my favorite agent tho I did hear the best team with lycaon is Ellen and sukaku I did notice you using that team ima choose lycaon cause Ellen isn’t there and I upgraded sukaku 5 times cause I get her so much😭

I got Grace from the standard and got lucky w/ the cop chick from the special rolls and they are always on my team. They are incredible lol, even if they might not technically synergize well. I like both
You can mash in this game and play like your not matching as well. Any character can be played at their best with mashing. I been playing games like this since Honkai 3rd Impact. This games gameplay is bayonetta on easy mode.
So only bad players who don’t know what they are doing use assist chains and blocks (which is an upgradable part of the kit that is also free damage and has its own affects for each character) because they dont have true “skill”

Grace is the one I'm working for. I did the try out fight and loved it. I lucked out and got Nekomata my first few pulls.
