IMPORTANT: If you really value that CRIT Rate Rotor isn't that bad (and when considering Combat Flat ATK buffs from Lucy/Soukaku it gets a bit closer to Starlight, but so do the other weapons), it's just when we do have optimized CRIT in the future Starlight just ends up being better without the caveat of requiring money. These comparisons were all at P5 Rotor by the way, taking 5 patches to get versus Starlight Engine being purchasable in the F2P Store. Also regardless of Starlight vs. Cannon, the Signature A-Ranks for their signature unit should always trump these two in power. What w-engine will you be picking up?
Picked Spring Embrace because Ben is one of my favorite supports and dont need the other weapon engines since i got lucky on pulls + starlight is goated
I took the stun one because I got Koleda twice. And honestly I find it better that you make it sound. With a full charge I managed to stun an enemy from 8% to a 100 with koleda's ex attack. I'll'go for the Def one next as I'm obviously running Ben so it will improve my team overall.
Great vid! I liked the comparisons between the engines and I personally went for the support w-engine since I think it'll do really well for future updates/endgame.
Hate that i can't just get a chest with choice to open later. Right now, you're force to choose by the end of the battle pass. It doesn't sound like any of them is great compare to the ones you can craft at the Shop.
Finally! Thanks, Guoba! You’re the first one trying to consider the engines value and NOT the value that the engines have on our current very small and limited roster. 🙏
I'm still picking cannon rotor, even if starlight engine is better. I think calcs will look a bit different when you inclide buffs coming from other units like Lucy/Ben as well. on top of that, early/mid game crits wont be as optimal, and having crit% on weapon means I can focus more on cdmg via discs, or even atk% to balance things out (which should be easier to hit than crits to begin with) I value consistency rotor provides more than raw burst potential starlight gives, but thats personal opinion
It's good to know that buffs don't change it much, I thought oversaturating atk% would make crit% via weapon more diserable, but on another hand starlight engine is much stronger burst weapon which is what u care the most when playing around stuns. I do still like crit better early game, simply cuz how annoying crits are to build, but slowly playing and getting used to game the more I see that it is what you say preety much, moreso when we start getting better crit stats naturally.
@@NakiYarou The ATK% from w-engine passive is external ATK tho, which can multiply all the internal atk%. So it doesn't get saturated at all for the most part. 19.2% ATK bonus from p5 starlight engine is just 19.2% total DMG increase, no saturation or only multiplying from base ATK etc. It does get saturated a little by Lucy's buff cuz it is external flat ATK, but not by that much. Crit rate is very hard in the early game sure, but I wouldn't make a battle pass w-engine pick based on early game, I'd base it on endgame for the long run. Though the other 4 options aren't great either so it's kinda whatever.
Sounds like HSR BP, where very few options are actually appealing. On that note, I really hope HSR gets new BP LC faster than it took Genshin. I’ve already maxed a Carve and I’m on my second Peaceful Day.
Good thing I saw this video. I was going to pick the attacker one. Now, idk, probably Anomaly one, even though I won't be building any Anomaly characters in the short term.
I think im gonna grab the attack engine. it might not be a lot better than the starlight one but having that crit rate boost is gonna make grinding for a solid crit ratio a lot less frustrating
Spring embrace is defense class defining, the issue is it's just held by Ben right now. In future I can see it being an all-star once we get a useful defense character
@@ObsoletePixel it really isn't, 16% extra regen (if you buy every bp for the next 5 seasons) is not that big of a deal and by the time we actually get a character that can make use of it we will probably have other options available
I would love a Grace and/or Anton guide! Learning to build everyone is a bit tricky to me in this game as opposed to HSR where it feels much more obvious.
Thank you so much for your insights! Do you think Six Shooter will be the best A rank w-engine for Qingyi? Or Steam Oven/Fossil will be still better for her?
the thing is that the way i play the game, i rarely use dodge atacks or assists on my dps(usualy i on-field the stun unit and only use the suports on chain atacks and dps on stunned enemies), so i found the condition in the Starlight to be more hard to achieve, as i have to go out of my way to proc it.

Hi there, I recently stumbled upon your channel and I think your videos are pretty well put together and so I have decided to subscribe. P.S. Would you mind doing a guide video for Nekomata next?
Isn't the Anomaly Lips one only marginally better than the craftable Rainforest Gourmet (because Rainforest also buffs combat ATK%)? If so, then won't a crafted R2/R3 Gourmet beat it during this first patch where it's only R1, and so on for future patches? I guess you could buy up to 5 of the Anomaly Lips and after about 7 months it might beat Rainforest, but that's a lot of time for a marginal increase, no? At least from what I can tell, all the W-Engines from BP are not great at the start, but the Defense one will probably be very useful once we get more Defense characters. I think the rest are already outdone by other options or will be outdone soon (except maybe the Support one, but that sounds like such a hassle to manage).

Nice video, I think I've decided to bet the next 5 battle passes on game ball aging extremely well, if HSR/Genshins any indication, trad dmg dealers signature w-engines will mainly be elevated by their crit rate/dmg advantage, and gameball lowers that advantage over other options, esp with how good starlight is. Like, lip gloss seems quite good when enabled but also quite easy to compete w/ for future options, compared to how limited party wide crit rate buffs will be, where the single target nature of the engine wont really be hurt if the game keeps a focus on single target threats being the main gatekeepers. Fully expecting support power to be insane for ZZZ, esp given the genre its gonna take a lot to sell supports over main dmg dealers, and if these are the launch supports, I strongly doubt they are gonna lean more towards the genshin route than the HSR route
I got the support w-engine, unfettered game ball. The anomaly one looked really nice but I already have Grace's w-engine and don't even have an anomaly unit. Over time, I'm hoping I'll have enough supports of different types to always get value from game ball but right now I can only cover ice, electric, and ether weakness. I see this as a long term investment
Hey, mister Guoben Biggest, a small question, are you gonna make infographics for your ZZZ guides? I would really appreciate them and I think a lot of us in your community would as well
I know Starlight Engine is better, but I have an obsessive need to make sure my crit stats are good. I alr have Ellen Wengine though, maybe Cannon rotor will be good for Zhu Yuan (if I fail to get her weap). If not, I'm sure I'll find use for it with future dps who need crit rate. I wish I had an anomaly DPS to use Electric lip gloss on. Maybe next patch
Day 3 of asking for Guobelle. Got delayed by a few hours because of the hype for a Fate collab in another Hoyo game. Anyway, has there been any calculations on PEN vs ATK?
Hey Gouba, unrelated question to the video, but what do you think about hybrid dps composition using Corin? Corin currently has an issue that she has crazy burst potential, but only with her ex special attack and ultimate when enemy is stunned, and her ex special attack charges really slowly without basic attacks, which in comparison are really weak. So, I was personally wondering of a weird team, where Corin would use 4pc Puffer Electro 2pc energy regen, and most of the time would be spent on main dps like Nekomata or Billy, with final team being Nekomata or Bily/Corin/Lucy or Soukaku. This way, you'd have someone to fill the break time between Corin's bursts, and once big enemy is stunned by the main dps, you'd switch to Corin for the finisher. I'm just not far into the game, so I cannot test it myself, which is why I ask you for your opinion on this
I was very "unlucky"(i lose two 50/50) with ellen banner. And i use corin a few days with lycaon and soukaku and butler. Its works well in not very high content even without good discs. But i have corin signature too. I am not Guoba, but i think Corin with right timings and discs could work. Sorry, for very subjective not detail answer.
I'm not sure how well neko / billy would perform in a stun role but I run Rina / Anby / Corin c2 where rina and anby stun and corin comes out when the enemy is stunned. They stun pretty fast. Damage seems decent, I cleared notorious hunt level 40 twin dancers in 3:00 with 1500 atk, 31% cr, 74% cd on corin, 150 impact on anby.
I'm wondering more about the aspect of dual dps teams rather than optimal Corin teams. Currently, with "stun/dps/support" meta (exception being Anton/Grace/Rina team and anomaly teams), I think best Corin team would be Soukaku/Corin/Lycaon, with most of the field time being spent on Lycaon stunning enemies. Once enemy is stunned, you switch to Corin for the finisher. Corin and Lycaon provide extra dmg to stunned enemies, and Soukaku gives lots of atk, so that team would have amazing single-target burst once enemy is stunned. It's just that Corin has an issue where her basic attacks are really weak, and energy requirement for her ex special attack is really high. Also, the previously mentioned team would have pretty weak AoE, so it'd take long time to deal with trash mobs. That's why I'm wondering about dual dps team comps. The main dps would deal with trash mobs, which would give more time for Corin to recharge her ex special attack for bursting down bigger units. I just can't test the team properly myself
Every character has a signature W engine including the A ranks so it really devalues the battle pass w engines as youll eventually get every non limited characters sig
The database doesn't exactly include all enemies - there some variants which generally behave, look and are named differently and if you're curious they currently include at least: // added where they appear in Shiyu Defense Stable Node and mild Ch3 boss spoiler at the end, though most of the different variants can appear all throughout the game - Thugs weak to Fire and Physical, Elites also resistant to Ice, look at SD4 and SD9, - Rebels weak to Electric, Elites also resistant to Fire, look at SD7, - Elite variants, which then include: - Ionized Ethereals (weak to Ether, resistant to Ice, SD3 and SD7), in the database there are also two normal Ionized enemies, - Energized intelligent machine bosses (weak to Ether, resistant to Physical, SD10), - Boss variants: - Notorious Ethereals (looks like they're just stronger, SD9), - Troublemaker Thugs (weak to Fire and Physical and resistant to Ice, just like the other Thugs variant, SD9), - special "Red Boss" (going by their red card background) variants seen in Notorious Hunts: - Newborn Dead End Butcher (might be identical to the regular one?), - Twin Marionettes, which is somewhat just both of them on one enemy card. Note: I don't currently know of any list or database (inlcluding outside of the game) that lists all of those enemies and their weaknesses and resistances.
Well that’s annoying for game ball lmao, thanks! Are you sure you can’t find them by going on an enemy and going to their variants with the arrow on the right ?
@@guobauncertified Oh boy am I dumb, they are there perfectly fine, thank you very much. Couldn't they have made them more visible, man? Like an extra Icon in a corner of the card with "variants [unlocked]/[all]". That makes things much simpler, and there's even more of them than I thought, though curiously I still can't find Twin Marionettes in the database.
I mean, I wish I had a choice lol. There are only so many Starlight Engines and I have 3 S-rank attack agents all fighting for it. I had to get Cannon Rotor, and I will be using it until I can buy The Brimstone from the shop.
Thanks for the overview here, helps me out a bunch! Question Guoba: Can you hold onto the Great Builders Certificate for the _next_ battle pass (in case next month has better goodies), or does the limited time restriction mean that the GBC only lasts for the time period of this current battle pass? 2nd question: Are you planning to do a more comprehensive guide on W-Engines for F2P players, which focuses less on S Ranks, character specialized W-Engines, and on Awakening a W-Engines to *6? That's a lot of grinding for a F2P player to do this early on IMO Thanks again for all the hard work of calculating the damage / dps numbers for all these varied setups, appreciate ya! ✌️
How powerful do you think non-dps limited signature W-engines have to be for low spenders/f2p to even consider pulling them? At the moment defense characters have no standard banner S-rank W-engine, so Spring Embrace has nothing to compete with from that perspective. We don't know if new signature A-rank weps will even be put into the pool which would leave only Ben's if not. It makes me wonder if I should pick Spring Embrace as my first just out of caution.
So the best one is the anomaly one. Electro lip gloss. I’ve been holding on to my BP wengine bc I just couldn’t decide. I ended up pulling Ellen’s signature and I already have starlight engine built so the attack one is out.
I have a question about the general defensive wengines. When the condition says "when attacked", does that mean the wearer has to take damage from an attack? Does the effect still trigger if the wearer swaps in for a defensive assist? If Ben perfect parries with his ex special and takes no damage?
I think they made the free engines too good... If I do pick one, it's probably Spring Embrace. Attack is for a class I don't have characters for, Stun isn't competing with Fossil or Sushi, Rainforest Gourmet is less of a hassle than the Anomaly option and Support has a strong buff that (as I just said) I don't have characters for. Unfettered Game Ball has me a bit tempted, but The Vault is an option in the £1 bundle and I'd rather pull for Kaboom the Cannon if it ever gets on a banner.
is crazy how all of these are such sub part wengines for being locked behind a paywall. But I guess the main reason we buying the BP is for the extra resources we get from it and these wenegines are just a plus and nothing more.
Hey, I managed to pull Deep Sea Visitor in my first 10 pulls. Since I don't have Ellen, would the W-Engine be viable for Soldier 11, or should I stick to using Starlight Engine?
What's the main comparasion between Weeping Gemini and Rainforest Gourmet on both Piper and Grace? Gemini has a higher ceiling but I dont know how easy or worth it is getting to that ceiling.
Is the soldier 11 weapon calculation assuming full uptime on the 28% crit rate bonus against burning enemies from the 4 piece set? I’m running soldier with Lucy and Piper, so the burning up time is not 100%. In that case I’m wondering if it’s better to run 4 piece woodpecker with 2 piece inferno, and then use the cannon rotor for crit rate. Any advice?
Yeah you'd wanna run Woodpecker if you're losing a lot of Burn Uptime, but Cannon Rotor still wouldn't beat it, I calc'd using both Woodpecker and inferno and Starlight comes ahead. Even with Lucy's Flat Combat ATK Buff on top it edges out by a % (so Cannon in this specific instance is p good!). If you really value the CRIT it's not the worst, but remember Cannon Rotor P5 takes months to get vs. Starlight.
@@guobauncertified thanks man, yeah I was just considering rank 1 starlight vs rank 1 cannon. Don’t have the materials to max out starlight yet but you’re right it will come about sooner than later.
i think cannon rotor has been done dirty here, you gain 12% ATK, you may buff your atk even higher and then every 6 seconds you gain 200% ADDITIONAL dmg based on ATK on your next crit? That sounds way better than starlight engine and all that while the rotor has crit rate as main stat, we cant say for sure yet but in previous hoyo games it was often a hassle to gain your desired crit rate for a character.
Done dirty how? I input rotors passive, multiple DMG procs, and stats, I even make the crit ratio work with the extra 20% crit rate, and it comes out below because of the discrepancy in passives. It is what it is
CRIT is still useful for the doomed disk drive farming we are gonna have to do before we hit good crit ratios, but we'll have that before 5 Cannon Rotors IMO
@@guobauncertified yeah, I recently started farming disk drives after lvl 40, and OHH BOY it was tough, only 1 gold per 60 energy and random stats on 2 random sets is tough, I was expecting easier but I guess I'll have to settle for some 4* disks until lvl 45
I think I’m kinda forced to get the battle pass .. I’m nearly rank 30 and I have zero w-engine for anomaly and support .. my grace has been using a 3 star w-engine that I kept at level 10 bc I refuse to level it as well as my Nicole .. might also just get the starter pack for her w-engine as well.. this game has only given me billy, anby and Ben .. my billy is m4, anby is m3 and Ben is m2 😑

The database doesn't exactly include all enemies - there some variants which generally behave, look and are named differently and if you're curious they currently include at least:
// added where they appear in Shiyu Defense Stable Node and mild Ch3 boss spoiler at the end, though most of the different variants can appear all throughout the game
- Thugs weak to Fire and Physical, Elites also resistant to Ice, look at SD4 and SD9,
- Rebels weak to Electric, Elites also resistant to Fire, look at SD7,
- Elite variants, which then include:
- Ionized Ethereals (weak to Ether, resistant to Ice, SD3 and SD7), in the database there are also two normal Ionized enemies,
- Energized intelligent machine bosses (weak to Ether, resistant to Physical, SD10),
- Boss variants:
- Notorious Ethereals (looks like they're just stronger, SD9),
- Troublemaker Thugs (weak to Fire and Physical and resistant to Ice, just like the other Thugs variant, SD9),
- special "Red Boss" (going by their red card background) variants seen in Notorious Hunts:
- Newborn Dead End Butcher (might be identical to the regular one?),
- Twin Marionettes, which is somewhat just both of them on one enemy card.
Excellent video in breaking down the Battle Pass W-Engines.
I mean, I wish I had a choice lol. There are only so many Starlight Engines and I have 3 S-rank attack agents all fighting for it. I had to get Cannon Rotor, and I will be using it until I can buy The Brimstone from the shop.
Thanks man!
Would love a guide to Anton from you. Just got him and love his aesthetic.
Thanks for the overview here, helps me out a bunch!
Question Guoba:
Can you hold onto the Great Builders Certificate for the _next_ battle pass (in case next month has better goodies), or does the limited time restriction mean that the GBC only lasts for the time period of this current battle pass?
2nd question: Are you planning to do a more comprehensive guide on W-Engines for F2P players, which focuses less on S Ranks, character specialized W-Engines, and on Awakening a W-Engines to *6? That's a lot of grinding for a F2P player to do this early on IMO
Thanks again for all the hard work of calculating the damage / dps numbers for all these varied setups, appreciate ya! ✌️
1st: No idea since I picked game ball to test for the video
2nd: you mean the f2p wengines? can do
@@guobauncertified Thanks! ✨
Check your inventory. The Great Builders Certificate has a timer on it so it will disappear after the BP ends.
Im voting for the channel to change its name from guoba uncertified to Ben certified)?
How powerful do you think non-dps limited signature W-engines have to be for low spenders/f2p to even consider pulling them? At the moment defense characters have no standard banner S-rank W-engine, so Spring Embrace has nothing to compete with from that perspective. We don't know if new signature A-rank weps will even be put into the pool which would leave only Ben's if not. It makes me wonder if I should pick Spring Embrace as my first just out of caution.
When was this video when I picked cannon rotor?
Wish I knew about this early this week when I got six shooter.................
Still nice for a quick stun burst I guess
7:14 Hi Cyno 👋
Oh I wanted to ask: Any chance for a Nicole guide in preperation for Zhu Yuan? :D
hm good point
Which camp are you guys on? "Wenjin" or "Double-U Engine?"
W-Engine, I can only imagine sus looking people saying wenjin
I really appreciate how you pronounce it wen-jin. Great minds do think alike.
I got the Lipgloss for my Jane Doe (that is coming in 1 month from now)
So the best one is the anomaly one. Electro lip gloss. I’ve been holding on to my BP wengine bc I just couldn’t decide. I ended up pulling Ellen’s signature and I already have starlight engine built so the attack one is out.
for stats ill just grab the frst one so i can easily slap a crit damage piece on my disc isntead of another crit rate
Does the Attribute Counter need to proc an Anomaly, or just hitting them once is fine?
that thumbnail made me think you made a ben guide saddies
is Cannon Rotor really combat atk? It reads like its normal atk%
I have a question about the general defensive wengines. When the condition says "when attacked", does that mean the wearer has to take damage from an attack? Does the effect still trigger if the wearer swaps in for a defensive assist? If Ben perfect parries with his ex special and takes no damage?
Finally a Bear for our Bear!
I went with the atk one....then i rolled neko and ellens weapon together...now I have a uneeded w engine till future use...shoukd have went support
Probably Anomaly or support. I’m gunna be rolling for Zhu Yuan so Nicole will want that.
i'm gonna start with the anomaly one but after that I'll probably get the crit atk one just because building crit always sucks
Would love a guide for Piper
is crazy how all of these are such sub part wengines for being locked behind a paywall. But I guess the main reason we buying the BP is for the extra resources we get from it and these wenegines are just a plus and nothing more.
Beta cannon was CRAZY good. shame it gets turned into just okay. But I'm happy to have it for help with building crit. But don't plan to rank it up
Thanks!
Hey, I managed to pull Deep Sea Visitor in my first 10 pulls. Since I don't have Ellen, would the W-Engine be viable for Soldier 11, or should I stick to using Starlight Engine?
Starlight on soldier, cannon can come close but that’s after 5 BP
If only all my characters that I built didn't already have better W-Engines. I got a few more weeks to think and try to ignore the red !
What's the main comparasion between Weeping Gemini and Rainforest Gourmet on both Piper and Grace? Gemini has a higher ceiling but I dont know how easy or worth it is getting to that ceiling.
it doesn’t appear to me after i finished it
1:56 where i can check the full list of wengine calculations? :)
Shouldve titled it Top 5 at this point
lmao
I just choose the six shooter but later thinking that I can buy steam oven from the Gadget shop for my boi Lycaon.
Hopefully they would add purchasable S rank engines just like Star Rail
since i main billy i picked his signature one
awesome video! But i still cant decide which to get! 😢
is it worth getting the support w-engine from the battle pass for nicolle or should i use her signature w-engine?
You can use hers
can you save great builder's certificate and not use it this season?
5:08 BALLSSSSSSSS
i think cannon rotor has been done dirty here, you gain 12% ATK, you may buff your atk even higher and then every 6 seconds you gain 200% ADDITIONAL dmg based on ATK on your next crit? That sounds way better than starlight engine and all that while the rotor has crit rate as main stat, we cant say for sure yet but in previous hoyo games it was often a hassle to gain your desired crit rate for a character.
Done dirty how? I input rotors passive, multiple DMG procs, and stats, I even make the crit ratio work with the extra 20% crit rate, and it comes out below because of the discrepancy in passives. It is what it is
@@guobauncertifiedwhat does "make the crit ratio work" mean exactly? Is there a place where we can see these calcs?
When will be the Ben guide, Mr. Guoba? 😩
here waiting for the complete guide how to farm disk efficiently because god damn it hard to grind for those
You shouldn’t be farming disks till IK 45 imo
SOoo what i must picK?
Why is Piper's signature op? How is it compared to 5 stars?
On her specifically it gives her so many strong stats due to the nature of her being able to proc all 3 quickly
You released this video a day too late I literally got the attack wengine yesterday lol
How to 5 star battle pass w-engines?
you are unable to infuse the BP w-engines unless you get a spare form the next BP
me who picked ATK W-engine cause crit: "well shit..."
Make a Mina guide 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
should i get the gameball or slice of time for lucy, though i lean toward slice of time for pen ratio
Lucy doesn’t need pen ratio, go game ball if you have the BP
@@guobauncertified alright it kinda tempts me on pen ratio for all those 100k damage lucy showcases lol
They really dropped the ball(ssss) with the BP W's, huh..
I got the support one since it's unlikely I'll pull support 5* engines over DPS ones
Watch them be OP D:
Dang
Me who got the stun one
👁👄👁
me want more gouben content
4:55 ok so pointless if I have Piper's.
I chose six shooter because I wanted the chody gun 😂
I think I’m kinda forced to get the battle pass .. I’m nearly rank 30 and I have zero w-engine for anomaly and support .. my grace has been using a 3 star w-engine that I kept at level 10 bc I refuse to level it as well as my Nicole .. might also just get the starter pack for her w-engine as well.. this game has only given me billy, anby and Ben .. my billy is m4, anby is m3 and Ben is m2 😑
You can always craft A-rank engines in the gadget store or use the B-ranks till you get something better
