  • Sauteed garlic and oil broccoli rabe is probably my favorite Italian side dish. All you need is fresh broccoli rabe (rapini), garlic, chili flakes, olive oil, and about 15 minutes. Definitely try it out with chicken cutlets and cherry peppers as I did at the end. I hope you enjoy and learn how to cook broccoli rabe!

I love this dish, made it yesterday. We definitely need more greens in our meals and this was the best I have cooked so far. Even my kids ate it. Thank you for sharing simple recipes, I am no chef but I like cooking when recipes are simple with less than 6 ingredients. Also thank you for the good, clear, clean videos.

the best food is everyday food. i do rabe similarly but instead of steam and saute, i saute first in a deeper pan and then quench/deglaze with a sweet riesling or something similar, optional but it adds a touch of acid and sweetness and completes cooking with an intense burst of steam. i finish with toasted pine nuts and usually serve tossed with pasta and pecorino. your variation looks great, but big takeaway for me is your twice-cooked whole lightly browned garlic cloves, very wine-friendly and will probably make it into my next prep of a number of things. thank you for all your work making these excellent videos

Ughhhhh I grew up where my mom would stink up the kitchen making this. I have a permanent aversion to broccoli rabe, but I respect it as a traditional Italian American/Sicilian food. Thanks for the recipe :D

Haha! I know a lot of people are not too big of a fan. I always say it's a delicious bitter veggie, but not for everyone. I appreciate you watching!

@@SipandFeast I enjoy all your videos. Some recipes I know how to make, while others I don’t but want to learn them. Your recipes and style of cooking takes me back to my roots back on LI.
My Grandma (Dad’s mother) taught my Mom a lot. She was 💯 % Austrian. Dad was 💯 % Italian. Mom learned a lot, so between her and my Grandma and my aunt (Dad’s sister), much of the tradition was passed down.
That doesn’t seem to matter to many today, but it does to me and my boys. My younger son can cook on par with me already, and he’s only been cooking a few years. I don’t mind getting a break. I’m never disappointed with his efforts or results.
Thanks for what you do. I’ll be joining your Patreon account in the near future.

Thanks! I'm glad my cooking is familiar to you and bringing you back in a good way. There are a lack of creators doing this type of content. That's part of the reason I started this channel. If anything my grandkids will see me when I was younger lol. It's good that you're getting the kids involved. It's a skill that all kids show know imo. I plan to do most of my Patreon content with my daughter. She is also a great cook for her age. But, letting her cook means she leaves a lot of dishes for me. She likes to use every tool we have haha. Thanks for the support!

I love broccoli rabe but there is one extra step that I take. I parboil it for about two or three minutes and then throw it under some cold water. Then after that I move onto the sautéing with the garlic and the red pepper flakes. Sauté some Italian sausage and you’ve got a great dish 😁

I'm going to look for broccoli rabe and try this one. I love the way you cooked the garlic. I could eat it that way all day 😜.

Great recipe! I've never used the cherry peppers or mozzarella. Just the rapini, lots garlic, chili flakes S&P & aliol

This looks so delicious! We haven’t been able to find broccoli rabe in Kingman, Az, and we were in Las Vegas today and forgot to stop somewhere there to get it. I’m pinching myself for that! lol We used to buy some jarred pasta sauce that had whole garlic cloves in it, and my husband and I would argue over who got them!

Have you tried a more upscale grocery store? I live in bumble f@#k no where and my local health food store carries it and if I travel 30 minutes away there’s an upscale grocery store that sells it.
