That man sitting on the chair 2:58 is Albert Broccoli the long time producer of Bond films succeeded by his daughter Barbara. It may be the only cameo he ever made and it was really hilarious decision to do this in this crazy movie.
Hehe..I remember seeing this movie in the theater and everyone was laughing their behinds off when the Gandola became a hovercraft. I miss these movies...
I have no idea why people criticize Moonraker, I think its one of the best James Bond films nd this scene is really good as well. Yeh it doesn't take itself too seriously but why should it, I think Drax is a great villain
Great chasing scene! If you are a 007 fan, MUST SEE the Dragon Tank model (Dr. No film) offered in Ebay. Try this words: "Dragon Tank rare James Bond". Regards.
@cochranexyz i think he was in 3 Movies..and i think in the Spy Who Loved Me making of (DVD or Bluray) they say the joke about it....i think it was in the 3 Movies the Camera Man...the first was Spy w.....they needed a guy at the beach because the actor was ill..so the camera man did it...and the ordience liked him so much, that he appears in 2 other bonds...i hope im right....long time ago that i saw the making of...
This ludicrous scene stopped the picture cold for me. This could easily have hit the cutting room floor and the film would have remained integral. It belongs in a campy Avengers episode.
The only thing I laughed at was the guy who fell out of the motorboat at the end of the scene. I know Bond isn't that much a secret agent, but that gondola was ridiculous even for the film franchise. I have a question, though. Do they actually have traffic lights for boats in Venice?
Rather funny..Bond's enemy killed before he knife Bond for the second time..hilarious the way he died without bleeding or any emotions of pain haha!! Bond was quite alert.

i love this boat chase

1:29 through 1:35 is arguably the best portion of this boat scene...
love how casual Bond is as he drives the boat through the venice streets.
the 007 Bondola!
I love the way the pigeon does a double take. . .haha

Le ralenti sur le pigeon couronne cette scène
Yeah, you're quite right : that man appears in 3 Bonds films !
@cochranexyz well, they should have had the old guy on the birdge with the black lung cough in more Bond movies. I love that guy!

That and the knives coming out were the things I laughed at.
And the guy on the bridge watching the coffin float by is comedy actor Alfie Bass!
THE PROPELLER SOUND IS SO COOL PRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
This ludicrous scene stopped the picture cold for me. This could easily have hit the cutting room floor and the film would have remained integral. It belongs in a campy Avengers episode.
@cochranexyz his name is Victor Tourjansky...no camera..sorry second unit Director ;-) and 3 Bond movies was right ;-9
Someone knows what is the name of the Second Version of the James Bond Theme music that plays during the Boat chase?
Roger Moore muito bom cm 007 "o foguete da morte" e ainda no Brasil!
@randomdave30 - You have missed the point of the typical 70's Roger Moore 007 films - FUN!
Good old Alfie Bass!
Ok, I found it. It's "Tritsch Tratsch Polka" J. Strauss II
Hovering gondola driving around is better than any cloaking aston martin
looks like Brian Ferry shooting at Bond on the boat
You're welcome ! ;)

that one was new
What's the name of this classic song played in 2:37 to end?

i especially love when the guy who gets nifed by bond dies and then looks down to see where he is going to and, very realistic, not
Buffy the Vampire Slayer brought me here!
There's no reason at all for him to use the hovercraft.
aBoxfulOfVids OK, now we know you're stupid.
A gondola hovercraft seems overated and overdone.....
gotta admit...the Roger Moore films were supposed to be funny/over the top, but isn't a hovercraft gondola kinda OVER over the top?
scene ridicule
