Is good song, buena banda sonora y la cancion de take the lektor 1964 desde Rusia con amor, también sonó por última vez en una película de James bond en 1979
RIP, Sir Roger Moore. This scene is far and away the best 7 1/2 minutes of the entire Moore era. No dialogue but absolutely everything necessary being communicated to the viewer via picture and sound. An illustration of what Hitchcock called "pure cinema". It also makes a good representation of the Moore era: action, gadgets, stunts, danger, humor, beautiful sets and locations, and even more beautiful Bond girls. Drax's Girls are the "Angels of Death"(remember OHMSS?) for the Moore era.
The best Roger Moore scene in a Bond film, imo, is the 2CV car chase from For your eyes only. Moore`s funny oneliners, and the excellence of the Remi Julienne stunt team drivers, made that scene legendary, on some very narrow and curvy Sicilian roads.
That’s the “007 theme” by John Barry. It debuted in From Russia With Love, then Thunderball (my personal favorite), You Only Live Twice, and Diamonds Are Forever.
Some have said that Drax is a rather bland villian, but Michael Lonsdale played him perfectly. A quietly spoken sociopath who has to build a world populated with his carefully chosen hangers-on and his one liners are excellent.
I never appreciated Drax as a villain when I was a kid older yeah he is one of my top fave villains. The brutal sending out of the dogs chilling his calmness.
I strongly believe Roger Moore was the best actor to have ever played James Bond; his bittersweet humor, unbeatable phlegm, unique handsomness, unfailing charm helped out by the quizzically raised eye brow , and disarmingly alternating mellow mes and solid action-packed outbursts ,all folded into one highly entertaining blend render him the swash buckling , unpredictable buckaneer that James Bond really is
Really? Even Roger Moore said he was the wrong person to play 007. Something about being too elegant for the role. But he needed the money. But after a while, the scripts got more amateur and comic bookish, even he couldn't stand it any more and quit. You are very wrong. Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, 007. The rest are caricatures and imitations..
When I was a kid Roger Moore , Clint Eastwood and Bruce Lee we're my hero's , I watched these in the 80s with my Dad , thank you Dad those are great memories and good times together. The man with the golden gun and Moonraker are my top two favorite bond films.
Honestly i dont think that this is tru! In the movie Moonraker, Bond is being chased while driving a Glastron / Carlson CV23HT speedboat. Only 300 of these boats were ever built, and 3 of those were specially built for Eon Productions and custom painted in the silver metalflake gelcoat over gray. Only one of these three Bond boats still exists, and that one is currently owned by the Ian Fleming Foundation. The case was filmed at the Pinewoodstudio in GB. According to the Website of the Ian Fleming Foundation the shots are made in the Studios and in Brazil, none in the US.
I think Moonraker is one of the best 007 movies "goofied" by the laughable scene in San Marcos Square and the ridiculous trip to space. But the rest of movie is really good, Bond-stylished and sir Roger Moore plays the role better than ever.
Moore was by far the best Bond. Richard Kiel, hands down the most beloved henchman. The fact he's the only one appearing twice and the only one to become a good guy proves this.
The week this released I enjoyed it at an afternoon matinee, and by odd coincidence saw it three more times that same week as my father and various friends invited me. No regrets! I already liked Roger Moore and Richard Kiel, but this film cemented my admiration of both as well as John Barry. Just a year or two later many of my friends were extras in Somewhere In Time. Due to a writer's strike the Mackinac Island premiere was cancelled, but I still have my copy of Barry's sheet music of the main theme that we were to have performed. Nice memories.
Roger Moore is in heaven now listening to this music. Rest in peace Roger, great man great actor, very good to children with his work with unicef charity. May your kind soul rest in peace
The hang glider stunt was performed by a pilot from my hometown in England. He did a talk about it at my school. The glider was supposed to land on the shore but got blown off course and crashed in the jungle. The pilot refused to do the stunt again so they had to use the crash in the story.
I pity the millennials since they never had the chance of seeing this movie in the theater. I used to go to the movies by myself because of the hot babes Bond used to mess around with and, of course, it was wonderfully more economical because I always came up with a convincing excuse to not bring my girlfriend along to see Bond films. Ticket, Popcorn and a Coke, that's about 35 bucks saved! RIP, Sir Roger

So how does Quantum of Solace fair to Moonraker? IMO, Moonraker is a far superior Bond film. It has everything that was great about Bond - Q and the gadgets, good humour and a villain intent on destroying the world -what more could you want! And at least in Moonraker you can make out what's going on and James Bond isn't a heartless thug!
The problem with Moonraker, imo, was the space theme. Bond became too science fiction. Clever gadgets is excellent, but intended for this world and challenges - not for space fights. Bond lost almost all authenticity in that setting.
Fonejacker Wrong again. Daniel Craig portrays Bond at his most coldest. Which is what Fleming’s character is meant to be, not a playboy battling a megalomaniac in some outlandish plot that bloated much of the franchise when Moore was in the role. Casino Royale was the shot in the arm Bond needed.
Moonraker was a great James Bond movie and i'll prove it: 1)Holly Goodhead-Tell me with a straight face you wouldn't hit that. Defining Dialog:"James, take me around the world one more time." 2)Jaws, freelance giant metal-mouthed psychopath that Bond tried to kill numerous times and failed. Defining Dialog: "Well, here's to us." 3)Orbital Laser Tag War-You get to see space marines fight Drax's Super Race in low Earth Orbit! Pew, pew, pew, pew! 4)The Plot: The murder of all life on Earth. A+
He still looked awesome in For Your Eyes Only . Perhaps Sir Roger Moore should have quit the James Bond role after that ( heard he really wanted to quit then but 'Cubby' Broccoli , the producer insisted he stay on ) instead of doing Octopussy and A View To A Kill which pale in comparison to the other 5 he did.
David Scott no I didn’t explain it correctly. As one might expect they were looking for a younger Bond and they found it in Moore. But Moore was actually older at the time. In ‘73 he was 45, Connery was 42. Moore just looked younger. Moore was born in 1927, Connery in 1930.
This may have been mentioned earlier, but Moonraker (and this clip) features the final time the "007 Theme" by John Barry was featured in a James Bond film. It's such a great tune I don't know why producers stopped using it.
Yes from the ultimate DVD. I too love the music as Bond goes towards the temple. Great scene. I luv a lot of John Barry's stuff and Moonraker, not only being a great film, had the best musical score.
I dunno, prefer John Barry's work in other Bonds overall. Octopussy is a personal favourite, but there are so many great ones it's hard to choose. I'm not actually that keen on his 007 theme, especially in this scene. It always felt quite dated and a bit too jolly, like something from an old British war film where people use the word 'spiffing' :) Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan, and the space music in Moonraker is incredible. Just find this boat scene to be a bit underwhelming.
I disagree, David Arnold make a splendid work either bringing Bond to a new era but still with those classic Bond sounds. Still John Barry is the best Bond composer ever
Arnold was ok, but basically just Barry-lite with 90s beats and hugely unsubtle. I remember being underwhelmed by Serra's Goldeneye at the time because there wasn't enough classic Bond theme, and then seeing an interview with Arnold saying he had the same reaction. But then when Tomorrow Never Dies came along Arnold whacked the Bond theme in every time Bond did anything (like walk across a room!) and it was far worse. I know Dr No did the same but it was fresh then. Today Goldeneye holds up much better for me - it's weird and different and creates an atmosphere specific to the film. Arnold's scores weren't awful but became bland for me, especially the action scenes with looped beats and Barry-esque horn stabs Mickey Mousing every action. Just too predictable after a while. These days I'd rather see a composer do original work that brings the film its own flavour and uses the Bond theme sparingly for the really big moments. No one will ever match Barry doing Barry so they should do their own thing.
+greyztone Arnold had real enthusiasm for scoring Bond and was a Barry admirer but I agree - much of his Bond work was messy and far too relentless. I don't like Serra's Goldeneye score and I can't see me ever warming me to it. There has been a return to form with Thomas Newman but Barry's Bond music is simply untouchable.
The women in this scene are The best, all having been introduced by Drax...the music is John Barry at his best here in the python scene with the girls all looking on
Jaws' face at 3.20 is priceless :D Oh and @GehlenBND, love that old school Bond track, though I must say it reminds me more of Largo getting boshed on Thunderball than it does Moonraker :)
To me, ok might have mentioned before, this is the best James Bond movie and of course the music is the... amazing, cannot but be amazed. But also, the effects especially near the so called end, it is amazing also how they made the shutte things. Some say it is not nice and too "scifi". I think it just fits well. One of the best Bond movies and Roger Moore is cool! PS. He has not died btw. Cheers...
Creepier than the snake was the indifference of the beautiful onlookers. Some even smiled at the sight of a man about to be choked to death by a snake. Beautiful and sadistic. The new world according to Drax would have been a much colder one.
This scene was filmed on the north fork of the st Lucie River, we used to go play in the buildings left over from the movie in the 80s, now it's a botanical garden.

Great movie. Loved the boat scene, the other boat scene in Italy where the guy looks at his bottle of wine; a recurring. scene. Jaws becoming a good guy again.
The John Barry score for this scene is probably the most beautiful he has ever done for a Bond film! Bravo!

Please, bring back the "007" theme
Haha Jaws is such a good character.

Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil) is the location of this scene. NOT AMAZON FOREST.
"Why did you break off the encounter with my pet python? "
"I discovered it had a crush on me"
Holy crap, all those girls are beautiful but that blonde is just too stunning for words! What is her name?
socksumi. I think it's the lady at the glass museum in Italy. Or is it the Venition Glass Female museum guide.
Which one? There's at least two...the one with the big lips and the one with the short hair.
Not Too Interested In Snakes, But I Have To Give Roger Moore Credit, For Going One-On-One, With A Python. Love Those Pin-Needles, He Needed It. RIP Sir Roger.
And not a single word of dialogue throughout the sequence
Great movie. Loved the boat scene, the other boat scene in Italy where the guy looks at his bottle of wine; a recurring. scene. Jaws becoming a good guy again.
