What a wonderful way to close and open a drawstring bag. I absolutely love this idea. Thank you so much for sharing. Think I will be adding this to ALL my drawstring bags.
Hi Anja, made a couple for my daughter and grand daughter. I’m using them for Easter place settings Thank you for the idea. See you on the live really soon
Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to find instructions for this! My mom knew how to do it, and showed me a long time ago but I couldn’t remember and she’s gone now. I’m so happy!
I used to make draw string bags all the time using #10 doily thread. They're so handy for holding marbles used in board games like Agrevation or Mancala. I suppose a larger bag would be needed for the marbles of a Chinese Checkers set. I'm feeling a bit inspired and might have to make myself a little project bag. 😊 Thank you! 💕
Oh what a gorgeous little bag with such a clever, yet simple trick to it! Cuuuute! Terri at YarnJoy Podcast showed her bag & gave us a link to your tutorial!🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
I had already made 4 small crotchet bags & I have now altered & done the draw strings just like you have shown !, Do you know they are so cute . Thanks again xx
Love this. Thank you for the inspiration, I have already made several with plans for more. FYI: I created a defined bottom by stitching single crochet post stitches. I wanted it to stand up, if you will. I like it both ways, depending on your intended use. Thanks again. Stay well, healthy and safe!!
As soon as i saw this video the other day, i went straight and start this drawstring bag project immediately. And i just finished it now ! Its so pretty. Thank u so much for this tutorial anja ❤️
Hi Ophelia or Anja: I really enjoy your crochet tutorials. Everything that you do is so precise and wonderfully done. I particularly like all your pouches that you make. I am a lover of pouches and my daughter sews pouches for me, but I really like crochet pouches. This last pouch is really lovely and very ingenious, when I was watching it I just couldn't figure how you made the closing and opening, but leave to you Ophelia or Anja you made it just so wonderful. I thought I would drop you a short line to express my appreciation of your work. Take care and keep up the good work. shirley40
What are you doing to me Anja I have so many of your projects started 🙈 and now this one!! its perfect and I will be giving this a go thank you so much Anja xx
This looks pretty nice. I haven’t crocheted In a while and I’m having some trouble crocheting in the round with double crochet. It seems in some rounds I have to count the starting chain, but not in others. I feel like there’s something I’m not getting. By the way, we hold our crochet hooks and yarn very similar. I just started watching crochet videos and am surprised by the grips others use.
My son is turning 7 in a couple months and something he was talking about was an adventure bag… do you think I could add straps like a back pack for this? (I know I would have to make it bigger as well) It’s just the best bag I have seen and I love that it’s magic !
It’s witchcraft Anja. Love how simple it is to open the bag 🧙♀️. I just couldn’t work out how it would work. Is your new cotton yarn like king Cole to use ?
Anja..?? do you know how to do these circles in a way that you DON'T end up with the straight sides..?? there is a way to go round and keep it round...you alternate where you do the increase stitches and your circle stays round instead of becoming a hexagon (or whatever it's called when more sides)
Do you think this is strong enough to hold a cell phone? I assume cotton yarn would be stronger for this. Edit: could we use the closing drawstrings as a wrist strap?
Hello Christine, I'm sorry but although I can and do use both terms, I feel I must stick to the US terms as I always use them, and my viewers expect that of me now. Anja x
So simple a thing to add to this bag to make it so magical! or maybe how to upgrade your drawstring bag?? Enjoy making it! Anja x
Please let us know the finished measurements (or approximate) of this bag please? Thank you in advance 💜

If you attach a safety pin to the end of the yarn you can weave it easily. Just a suggestion. Cute and wonderful item.
That’s what I do! I’ve kept a nice sized nappy pin from years ago,for this very purpose 👍

Oh my goodness this is sooooo adorable! I have to make one of these. Where do I get the beads?
Hi Karen, I bought mine locally, but you can find them on Amazon or Etsy for instance, or there's shops like Hobbycraft, Hobby Lobby etc, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks what size beads?
It’s witchcraft Anja. Love how simple it is to open the bag 🧙♀️. I just couldn’t work out how it would work. Is your new cotton yarn like king Cole to use ?
Yes, it is Janey, it's lovely! Anja x
Nice
Great tutorial thank you

Just making mine now
Wonderful Leanne, enjoy, and thank you, Anja x

Could you please give sizes for the beads
please Anja. Thank you
The ones I used are 12mm, hope this helps, Anja x
Do you think this is strong enough to hold a cell phone? I assume cotton yarn would be stronger for this.
Edit: could we use the closing drawstrings as a wrist strap?
Yes it would be perfect for things like phones and purse etc, and you could indeed use them as a wrist strap.
Thank you, Anja x
Can you do UK Terms as well as USA please
Hello Christine, I'm sorry but although I can and do use both terms, I feel I must stick to the US terms as I always use them, and my viewers expect that of me now. Anja x
