I don't believe it's an accident that the first episode of this series came up in my UA-cam feed, seemingly out of nowhere. I hadn't been watching anything related. But so much is going on in my life right now, and I was feeling overwhelmed...these talks are helping me SO much.

Oh Praise God for blessing us with Elizabeth Elliot. thank Yoy Lord God
She touched hearts and guides us to see clearly
I knew this when Jesus found me but strayed and in doing so forgot what I knew about suffering..which Took me back into a childhood pattern of isolation coping mechanism in pain
But now I know thank God!!

This message was uploaded two years ago and recorded back in the late eighties or mid nineties and it is STILL filled with the kind of admonition encouragement as when it was first given. *"Do The Next Thing"* this is a recurring line from Elisabeth. I pray I will remember it and put into action till the day I die. Great wisdom from a sister in the faith! Rest in peace until the resurrection of the dead! ❤️

    Lessons from Acceptance
    1. The grace of God enables us to accept difficult circumstances.
    2. Acceptance is the key to have peace in the suffering.
    3. The love of God is synonymous to the will of God.
    4. The will of God is Love and love suffers.
    5. Suffering is a mystery. It is not explained. It is affirmed.
    6. My faith enables me to say, "Yes Lord. You're in-charge."
    7. Faith like love is not a feeling. It is willed-obedience. It is an action.
    8. Acceptance is a voluntary and willed-act.
    9. If the answer is no, there is a greater thing at stake.

24:19 it is so good that she clarified what she meant by acceptance, not as "accept everything, resign yourself, don't do anything about it". I know a lot of christians who decide not to fight against an unfair situation because they confuse "acceptance" with "not changing any situation". First, if something ought to be changed (for example, a case of injustice), fight for it. If it can't or ought not to be changed, accept it.

Suffering is there but just around you; it is not in the center, it is on the periphery. It is impossible for suffering to be in the center; it is not in the nature of things. It is believed that the "Messenger of Satan" God sent to Paul was a false teacher destroying his ministry and leading believers Paul was shepherding astray. With enough context this is the most likely meaning. "Messenger of Satan" almost has to refer to a false teacher when the term is used by Paul who spends a lot of time talking about false teachers being associated with demons and Satan.
